Having major issues checking on the new releases for Hip-Hop, I find everything i need when it comes to Alternative and Rock with complete ease. Bias poo poo/
p.s. Pigeon John's new cd "Pigeon John & the Summertime Pool Party" doesn't pop-up when I look for it under Pigeon John on search. ***!!!!

under new releases you can click on hip hop/rap for new releases
on the left hand side of the music store click on hip hop/rap to be taken to the hip hop/rap page

New Itunes not syncing new albums to Ipod

Hi,
I have added a couple of new albums to my Itunes but when I synch, everything looks ok, but one of the albums has not transfered to my Ipod. I do not have the grey boxes, the entires album is just not there.
I have tried deleting the album and starting again and even restarting my computer. Itunes Match is turned off and my settings are so all albums should transfer, According to my device storage, there is not issue of space. I don't use Icloud.
Im stumped, anyone know why its not transfering?
Ive had nothing but problems with this new Itunes its very frustrating!
Itunes and ipod touch 3rd gen, software are all up to date.

iTunes has "lost" the music, OR the music was "red box" explicit and someone put parental controls on the iPad or computer to block the songs.
If the music is lost, use iTunes 'Help' menu to find path to music.

the ipod forum is very good entertainment. i remember reading it last christmas day. lots of folk blaming apple for ruining their families christmas by intentionally providing ipods that didn't work. i knew apple was pretty big i didn't know it could ruin so many xmas celebrations.

I got a ipod classic 7 th generation. I put songs on it ( and it shows on my mac that the songs are on the ipod (Songs from cd's) when I disconnect my ipod the songs are not showing on the ipod (but they on it) except one song that I purchased on itunes (this songs shows on the ipod) I got the new itunes and OS X Lion 10.8.5 on my Mac. Is the new itunes are not compatible with the ipod classic 7th generation?

New iTunes not opening on iMac w OS10.6.8

tried to connect my iPhone 4 to my iMac and was told that I had to upgrade to the new iTunes ver. 11.11 since my iPhone is now running of ver. 7.0.2
My iMac is running OS ver 10.6.8 and when I looked for softawre updates iTunes was the only one that showed up. Ran the download program then restarted the computer. But now iTunes will not open.. Anyone else have this issue?.

issue resolved for the moment. Although the new version of iTunes was not starting on it's own with the iMac. It did start up once I conected my iPhone to the computer...

Why does the new itunes not pull up my iphone when connected to the computer?

I just downloaded the new Itunes 11 on my computer and when i plug my phone in it does not bring it up in itunes. it was trying to bring it up in real player so i uninstalled that and it still wont show in itunes. i have restarted my computer and phone multiple times as well ad uninstalling and reinstalling itunes and nothing is working.

Thanks for your input but as i have said it is a Motorola V3i (The i means itunes compatable). I have uninstalled and re-installed every old version of itunes there is and it works perfect from itunes 5 up to itunes 9 then it goes wrong and does not recognise my device allowing me to sync. I am happy with itunes 9 but it will not allow me to keep it without updating it to itunes 11. The phone is recognised by the comp and appears in devices. Any further ideas will be welcome. Thanks

Itunes Not Programmer Friendly...

I'm managing my Itunes library. So I have all compilations in it's own folder called "Compilations". So consider the compilation from the movie "Shrek", when viewing this in Itunes window I see the following:
Name Artist Album
My Beloved Monster Eels Shrek
Ideally, I would like to recognize that this is a "compilation" so that I rename the above artist as:
Name Artist Album
My Beloved Monster Comilation - Shrek - Eels Shrek
I would like to change the "artist" info for all those files in my "Comilations" folder, so that every artist is tagged as: "Compilation - Album Name - Artist". I've written a computer program that will create the artist labels in this format. But... Itunes stores all of the "info" about an individual song on the actual file itself. That is, it embeds the information on the actual .mp3 file.
I can not modify the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file, by replacing the the current artist tag with my new tags. I'm running out of options here. I mean what is the use of being able to import/export a playlist, or library, and modifying it, only to have Itunes not recognize the changes???
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I guess I'm not clear what it is you want to achieve...
I see that you're keeping control of the physical organiation of your files. That's fine. You can put them whereever you want. I do the same even though I realise I'm just making more work for myself. Your iTunes library will however be easier to maintain if you organise your library inside the *iTunes Music/Media* folder. For myself I have my compilation tracks stored at:
*\iTunes\iTunes Media\Various Artists\<Album>\## <Track> - <Artist>.<ext>*
I use MediaMonkey's auto organise tool to reorganise the file & folder names according to the tag data as, unlike iTunes, it doesn't clip to 35 characters and I can choose my own pattern.
The logical organisation of your media inside iTunes depends on the tag values. Assuming you want a neatly organised library, setting the *Part of a compilation* flag (unique to iTunes) and *Album Artist* to *Various Artists" or some other appropriate value are required to ensure that iTunes "sees" the tracks as a single album. If not, it sees albums with the same title but different artists as somehow separate things, generating multiple covers for the same album. My post at http://www.samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/groupings.asp gives details. You can use iTunes *Get Info.* to change details for multiple files so editing say the Album Artist for a few thousand files is quite easy within iTunes if you can arrange to select just the files you are interested in.
If your files are staying in the same physical location you can use 3rd party tools to manipulate the tags, however iTunes won't re-read these automatically. If you select a group of files, *Get Info.* and then click OK _WITHOUT MAKING ANY CHANGES_ iTunes will read all the tags and update with any new information.
If you want to move your files around physically then you need to delete from iTunes and re-import from the new location. I use iTunes Folder Watch periodically to catch any stray files that I've moved or imported without updating iTunes.
Changing the Artist for compilation tracks from <Artist> to *Compilation - <Artist> - <Album>* will not provide any organisational benefit within iTunes as far as I can see.

New forum not very user friendly (to me anyway!)

I may be missing the obvious. If anyone can post some pointer on how to use this new forum, I'd be greatful. Issues I have are:
1) I can't seem to tell which threads have new posts since my last visit. Some say "updated" after the title, but some which should be updated according to when the last post was don't say so, and vice versa.
2) Is there a way to get directly to the unread posts without having to go through the thread from the top?
3) Is there a way to navigate to other posts without having to return to the top of the thread?
These are just a few problems I'm having so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the only thing I found remotely better, was the ability to upload jpg and screenshots... but the rest leaves a lot to be desired.
For example, when scrolling through the 50 or so posts on one page -> Then you press next -> next -> next page until you're at page 19... and find a post that seems exciting at the headline, you click it, and read it and find that "naaah, it wasn't about what I thought it was..." then you go back...
and voila!
You end up at page one again!!!!! Havin to klick - perhaps - 19 times next until you get to the next page, if you hade the abilitly to remember on what page that last post where... I mean, c'mon. Adobe.... ?! This huge giant have such lame forum technology?

New iTunes Not Working

Is anyone having issues with their iTunes freezing up and then freezing up the rest of the computer? I've had to do 3 hard shutdowns.

I have a 5g 30gb black ipod which has stopped working since I downloaded itunes 7.1.1.5. Discussion on the web points to a problem called recovery mode loop where nothing happens other than continual recvery messages and cannot download music. This seems to point to a problem with the latest version of I tunes. When are Apple going to fix this . As a newbie I dont know how to contact Apple direct but it is clearly a widespread issue

More problems with new itunes not starting

Hi,
Have recently downloaded upgrade of iTunes and experienced the same problems as a few others - no response when trying to start it up. I was very happy indeed yesterday when the Quicktime standalone fix worked and my music reappeared. However, on restarting today, it's back to the square one - no response! Am I doing something wrong or is there anyone who can help?

I'm having the same problem on my desktop. I've done both a spyware search using ewido, and a virus check using symantec, neither of which helped. I tried uninstalling and re-installing and that also didn't help. Each time I try staring itunes I get the message:
iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I'd be happy to send the error report that I get along with this message.
Oddly enough, this problem is only occuring on one computer. I have no problem with it on my laptop. I hadn't updated itunes for a while on my desktop.

New iTunes not working with iPad

I updated iTunes and now when I plug into my computer I get the message " thisiPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install iTunes again."
But if I do that will I loose all my apps?

You may be loose your apps. However, you can re-download them for free using the same account you used the first time. When you do that it will say you already downloaded and ask if you want to download again. Your receipt will show $0.00.

My computer won't support the new iTunes, but my friend's will. If I update my iPod touch to ios 5 or later, will the older iTunes be able to support my iPod?

My iPod has apps and music that I really don't want to lose. My iTunes at home is the older version and won't update to iTunes 11. If I update my iPod to ios 6 will the iTunes at home (the one that can't update to iTunes 11)-- support my iPod touch if I update it to ios 6 or later?-- meaning that will my iTunes be able to transfer my music and apps back to my iPod? NOD32 Virus Protection RESOLUTION to new iTunes not exiting

I was having problems with my 7.7.1 not exiting, and it ended up being my NOD32 ver. 2.7 virus protection program. New nano not being friendly...

ok, so I think I saw something that might help me with my problem, but I just wanted to see for sure (if your ipod doesn't turn on)...
Ok, so My nano isn't even a month old yet and the battery just got drained down. I connected it to my computer w/ the USB that came w/ it but nuttn happened, I had it sittn' there connected for the past 2 hours and still no charge icon or even a blip... It won't let me reset, and I know my usb connection is good cus everything else i plug in there is fine... I was gonna try the wait 24 hours and then try, but I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything else I could possibly do.
