Ok, Below is what worked for me somewhat.
Okay ... try downloading and saving a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe to your PC from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now download a trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.php
Open the iTunesSetup.exe with WinRAR, and try to run the standalone install of Apple Application Support from the AppleApplicationSupport.msi you find in there.
It works now BUT there are still problems.  It is not allowing or recognizing my Cd/DVD player and i CANT burn.  Looking still for this fix.

it wont install because it says the network resourse im trying to use is unavailable
Which particular .msi file (or files) does the message (or messages) go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

  • New Itunes wont install on my computer

When i tried to install the new itunes it came up with a message half way through saying that:
Threre is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
    Please help !!

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

it just ask permision to run program then
... that's interesting. Is that one of those User Account Control type messages?
I'd like to see that screen if possible, stew. Could you take a screenshot of that permission message screen (Hold down Alt and press the PrtSc key), paste it into a Paint document (or similar image editor), and save the file. Then reply here, click the wee camera icon, do a Choose file, browse to the file, click "Open file", then click "Insert Image".

  • Itunes wont install on windows 8

the itunes installer says there are errors when loading itunes and says to try the installer again.  I looked at other threads which instructed me to run as an administrator.  I did this but come up with the same results.  Is there another fix for this?

  • ITunes wont install on windows 7

When i try to install iTunes 10.5 on my Laptop with windows 7, i get an error message and then it just rolls back and asks me to try agin but it still doesnt work. can anyone help?

    Try following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • ITunes wont install on Windows 8 Pro x86, "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured."

Installer is being run as admin. Bonjour service is installed and running.
The lack of information is a bit frustrating... nothing in event viewer that I can see..

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    Solution

    * Microsoft did not create, nor does it provide technical support for iTunes.

thing is this was the latest downloadable link i have a txt file that lists all the model exceptions etc but its massive didnt want to post here. can any one advise me on if itunes infact can work on the win xp x64 enviroment?

    hi timski!
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"
the first thing i check for with one of those is a broken Quicktime. does your quicktime currently launch, or do you get an error message when you try to launch it?
if you get an error message when you try to launch Quicktime, try a careful standalone QT 7.0.4 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
    Quicktime 7.0.4 Standalone Installer
    keep us posted.

I can't get new version of itunes to install on Windows 7 64 bit computer. Receive message that reads insufficient privileges to access c:\program files\ipod\bin. I've followed several threads I've read here but nothing is working.

For such situation, I'd suggest the following:
    1. Remove current installed office with the fix-it tool in
KB2739501, and follow the "Remove Office manually" section to make sure there are no remaining files
    2. Either download a trial version of Office 2013 from
    http://office.microsoft.com/, or from
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj937170
    3. Reboot your computer in clean boot mode, and run setup again
