This release offers a complete JDBC 2.0 support across all drivers, significant JDBC 3.0 support, SQLJ functionally on par with JDBC, enhancements in JPublisher to simplify publishing of PL/SQL types.

    I suppose that is nice.
It would be even nicer if the drivers actually conformed to JDBC so that one could for example reliably use blobs in a J2EE server with CMP.

  • Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/

    Hi,
Ive just been trying to download your Oracle9i Database Release Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP for my home computer, but it wont even download properly. The Disk 1 file, "92010NT_Disk1.zip", intializes, and downloads in less than a second, saying all 67.7kb is complete, taking into consideration the file is over 600mb big. When i open the *.zip file, its absolutely empty. I tried the links for Disk 2 and Disk 3, and they are working perfectley.
    Whats going on?
Is there a bug on my side, or OTN's?
    Will this be fixed soon?
Or should i download an older version?
A little feed back would be grately appreciated, due to the fact i cant find the latest version of Oracle anywhere else on the World Wide Web.
    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Peter,
I downloaded the same zip files as you did for my home pc. The first zip file was not able to be unzipped by winzip. So I had to download the fisrt zip file again from OTN and the second time it was fine. I got all three zip files extracted and ran the setup.exe. Everything was fine till this point.
My problem is that Oracle 9i release 2 personal edition is not for XP home edition. I couldn't get the database correctly configured.

This download has been up for some time so it's most likely a problem with the file transfer - did you verify the filesize matches what is posted on the web page?
You may want to use a download manager for this file if you keep getting the error - there are many available. (www.getright.com works pretty well).

  • How to install a new jdbc driver and get it in a list to select.

I have placed the driver in the directory with the rest of the drivers. and followed the instructions below.
The HUGE missing part is typing in the driver name. WHERE? I there isn't a field that I can edit to add the name.
The URL and connection string are no problem, but how do I get ODI to recognize the new driver is there and how can I select it?
This has to be something simple that I am missing. Any help would be appreciated.
Follow these steps to add a new driver for Oracle Data Integrator.
■Copy the driver packages (.zip or .jar files) to the /drivers sub-directory under the Oracle
Data Integrator installation folder (ODI_Home\oracledi\drivers) if they are not already referenced in the Java classpath.
Oracle Data Integrator will automatically detect the driver the next time it starts and will add these packages to the classpath. This must be done on each machine executing an Oracle Data Integrator component.
■If the driver is used to connect a repository and you wish to use Metadata Navigator to
connect to this repository, then copy the driver's packages in the /WEB-INF/lib sub- directory of the Metadata Navigator installation folder, then restart the application server.
Refer to the driver's documentation for specific setup operations.
Drivers added to Oracle Data Integrator do not automatically appear in the list of drivers and URL in the Oracle Data Integrator GUI. The URL and drivers must be typed in manually in the appropriate fields, using the syntax provided in the drivers' documentations.
The automatic detection of the drivers does not work on certain systems, including Windows 95 and

    Hi
I'm new to this whole process. My question is how do I access the Application Development portion(SQL+). Do I have to subscribe to the OTN network in order to receive a username, password and host string, in order to log into the SQL Plus application. Is there any documentation that explains how I am able to access the Oracle 9i Database and all of its functions. What do I have to do in order to access The OTN network

  • Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.0.2.0.1) Disk 2 Need Help!

ok i just recently a couple days ago pretty much started downloading the 3 disk set of oracle 9i databse rel. 2 full thing for windows nt/xp etc anyways after 4 re-downloads using my internet explorer browser i finally got on my other pc and downloaded the 3 disks another 4 times with two download managers the best i think flashget and download accelerator... anyways i finally got disk 3 and disk 1 to download without any crc corruptions with weird files in the zips... but disk 2 i re-downloaded using flashget and dap again and again now always with errors usually jar files or similar stuff and usually about 5 broken files... anyways just now my latest attempt only gave me a zip with one corrupt file and winrar/winace/winzip all gave me this type of error:
! C:\Downloads\92010NT_Disk2.zip: CRC failed in stage\Components\oracle.p2k.xmldevkit\9.2.0.1.0\1\DataFiles\demo.1.1.jar. The file is corrupt
so if anyone can get me that file it would be GREATLY appreciated i am using way too much bandwidth on this downloading of oracle.. and after trying everything i could i am gonna try one last time in flashget to re-download the disk 2 zip file... but in the mean time if anyone found some solution like a different setting in flasget or DAP Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

yes!!! i finally got a good zip... after downloading from your west server which i only guessed existed since i downloaded from oracle-east all the time so i tried west... after re-downloading it from there i had one error which i talked about in my above/first post i only needed to fix about 1% of the file so flashget re-downloaded that 1% a couple times and finally i got a non-corrupt zip thank god!! ftp servers are an idea oracle-team but that's just my opinion well yeah bye... problem solved...
