New Job and Training
I new supervisor handed me a couple of catalogs and asked
what kind of
training I would like in the next budget year. I picked ~10
different
course with the idea of narrowing it down to a couple of
three.
He said just put them all down and we'll see what the higher
ups say.
The only guilty twinge is that this could be ~$18,000 [though
I really
don't think I will do this all in the next year]. Since I am
a new
employee of the State of California, I presume that some of
the members
of this group will be footing part of this bill.
So I just wanted to say thank you!

Dear All,
I created a Job and Position through PP01 transaction. I am facing 2 issues while doing so...
1. System prompts for Customizing request when i try to save the new entry.
What table/settings do i need to maintain for turning of the customizing request promptings.
2. Once i save the entries(after entering some dummy customizing requests), when i check the
HRP1000 table for the new jobs and positions... The table entry shows 2 records for each Job and
position. One entry with Plan version '.:' and another with active Plan version '1'.
I need to have just one entry in HRP1000 table for each job/position with ACTIVE plan version.
I checked T77S0 table, it has active plan version maintained against the PLOGI-PLOGI entry.
Please let me know what table i need to maintain to handle my requirement.

When you create new job or position in sandbox system it will not ask for the request number,since you generally dont transport the objects from sandbox to test system.
When you create a new job or position in development system, it will always ask for request number. This is because, in most of the cases, you need to transport the job and position to test system and then to production system.
Without a customizing request you wont be able to transport those changes to next system.

I'm not sure if i am in the right room to ask but, i got a new job and my w-4 is online threw the adobe acrobat reader ans is filled out but it wont connect to the browser to get it submitted. what is wrong?@
I doubt that the W-4 has a submit button. If you are using Reader XI (actually the topic of the Reader forum, not this one), you should be able to save it and then print and deliver. If it is set to be submitted by the browser, then it may be your Reader and the browser are not talking properly. If there is a generic URL that you can provide that has the W-4, we might be able to give you more info. A lot depends on what your particular form looks like. Hand carrying it should always be an option.

OEM Job and Event - No Results

How are you doing today? Well, I need your help. I am new DBA for one month old. I want to run OEM Jobs and Events.
I am able to log with sysman/oem_temp
i have created credential for node and database.
I am able to work on other parts except these two.
I am able to create job and event
after creating job . I am getting status as submitted.but it is not executing immediately.it is the same problem with event also.
In event ,one event get registered but another event status is not registered then i have checked for detail
error is like this

i didn't get what is inteligent agent and how to get it on node?
Well I have created new user with Windows 2000 having privileges for batch processing. same user is created in oracle database as well as oem administrator.
with same user database connection i am trying to create new job and event but it is not executing. i mean no results.

-DeepakThe intelligent agent is a process which has to run on the same node like the database you want to supervise with the OEM. You have to install the intelligent agent during the installation process of the database. After having installed the agent you have to start it (via the services panel in Windows). After that you have to ensure that the agent has discovered a database instance on the node (there should be entries for node, listener and database in the services.ora file in the ORACLE_HOME\network\agent directory). If this is all ok and the events or the jobs still doesn't work it may be a communication problem (are you using a firewall between the database node and the management server, or do you use network adress translation?).

I'm a very new user and I need some help!
I have recently started a new job and our website is managed through Dreamweaver, which I know nothing about. I was getting along until I was given a new computer. We installed a new version of Dreamweaver and when I launched it for the first time I was expecting to be able to see the local and remote sites, the way I could on the old computer. However, the remote site was not available. Please forgive my ignorance, and I did hunt for this info in the tutorials etc, but if I am communicating with the remote site, shouldn't all those files be listed without me having to put them there?
I did try. Alot of what I found dealt with creating pages and templates, which I will need soon, but not yet. I found the link below. It looked promising, but didn't end up relating to any option I could see for myself to try. I have tested my connection already so I believe I entered all the ftp information correctly.

Ok, so I created workspaces for each of the main portions of my application. Under each of these workspaces, I have created scripts to test individual pieces of that part of the web application. I decided to break the scripts up since having 1 script with 130 pages was pretty cumbersome and hard to manage. Now I have ~10 scripts that I want to set up a job to run as a group.
Here is my problem. When I create a new job and save it in the appropriate workspace, i can add 1 script to it. After the first script is added, e-Tester autosaves my job in the Default! workspace. (now I have a job file in both workspaces) Then if I add another script from my original workspace it says my job is saved under the Default! worksapce and I can't add a script from a different workspace.
Does any of this make since? I understand how to open a workspace and save my scripts there, but why does adding a script to a job cause the job to autosave in the Default! workspace? Is there a way to change the workspace that e-Tester considers Default!?

WayneI was hoping you would reply again... I marked your original post as helpful, but in fact it was just what I was looking for. Running in Job Scheduler seems to do the trick.
As for running as Local Admin, I am just out of luck... I work as a contractor for the Government and we are on their VPN playing by there rules, so my computer is locked down and I can't even install the software 'I write' on my machine... I have to call and have someone else install it for me... for security purposes... -

So we had a little bit of an issue. We uploaded the jobs and the postiions and went live. However after about a month now the Compensation team wants to redo the jobs and the positions. The system is already live and PA and OM are interconnected.
I want to ask
1) Can we upload this once again - I mean the new jobs and positions
2) What is the impact on the existing Org units jobs postions and persons. these are all we are using at present.
3) What is the impact on the PA side.Thank you for your reply
We only have PA and OM live at present the payroll is going to be an external system with an interface to SAP.
Yes I agree that the impact will be high but going by the meeting I have been in the past week we will have to rework the existing jobs and positions.
So going by your suggestions should I delete all the objects created for jobs and positions and the relationships first and then upoad the new jobs and positions into the system.
To give you an example
We have manager as jobs - and postion probably as HR manager.
What the business wants to do is have HR manager as the job and the local title used in other countries as the positions.
e.g HRIS manager as the position. I know this is not the ideal way but that is the w=only way we can accomodate all the countries requirements.
Now in IT 0001 there is the relationship between PA and OM. THe SAP position numbers may change for the employee. Could you recommend how do I link up the employees again, or would I need to reload the PA's also. -
Questions on installtion and ram please help! Pc tech with new Job!
Im a Pc tech with a new job Im am in charg with a new Mac network . So Im great at PC.s just fuzzy on Macs.
Here is my problem.
IMac 17" flat panel.
New Hard drive , new cable (IDE), Tryed to install New OS ( just OS X) got throught the first 5 mins in the installer , the it stoped and told me that it had encountered an error and to restart.
Now I get an error 139 installer has unexspetanly stopped.
Press return to reboot.
Now pressing return never works have to hold start button to reboot.
Ran hardware test of cd Im gettting a a mem_/2/4 error.
I assusm that is a bad stick of memory? There is only 1 stick in there.
I belive that its using pc133 256meg for memory.
I have put a few pc133 sticks in the mac but none will work eather get a bad memory beep or no display .
Does it have to mac memory or special latency ?
Have opened the firmware and reset -all -nvram and defaults
Have remove Air Port card and all other stuff , onlly keyboard and mouse and power cord .
Does that sound right? If you need more info let me know.
Any other clues?
Any book that an tech like me (6 years fixing pcs) should read for macs? thanks for all your help in advance.

G5 Mac OS X (10.2.x)Another thing to consider, a free to use download (donationware) is
MacTracker; a small data base of Apple and Macintosh product specs.
If you don't already have it, see: http://www.mactracker.ca to download.
Some online manual sites had unauthorized copies of protected works
and those sites were pulled from the internet; but they had service
manuals in pdf for many models of computers. You may be able to get
the official versions of pdf manuals through a subscription service for
an annual fee; this may require searching and asking questions. It may
also require an IT budget you may not have, to get a Mac-only archive.
At one point I was given some technical support information to trouble-
shoot my own ailing under warranty Apple computer(s) and the information
is very helpful, when you have a need for the details they contain.
I was careful to use them for non-invasive troubleshooting only.
One older online source appears to have ftp:// links, but I was never
able to make them work. The site may not have valid content or could
be somehow blocked; so if you find such a site by searching for older
Apple Manuals online, it may not yield anything. Or it may be illegal.
Some of the low-end RAM chips can be problematic; I found at least
one to add major issues in my iMacG4 and made it hard to diagnose
another major hardware problem. Tossing the cheaper RAM (at retail
was higher cost than decent RAM) was the best thing; got a better one.
There should be a little information on boot ROM (firmware) per model in
the MacTracker database you can use offline. You may need to know more
about the use of Open Firmware in Macs. Hope this helps some.
PS: for a time, you could get tech manuals on CD from places
such as http://www.applerescue.com/ (they have OS installers
on disc for sale there, primarily) and also a search of the web
may get you a source of tech books for repair service. -
Printer is overprinting old jobs on top of new jobs. Using a Mac with OSx and a HP photosmart for over a year. this just started happening.
RReset printing system again and the restart in Safe Mode . This will clear some caches,to do this hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup tone until a progress bar appears, after it has fully booted restart normally and add the printer.

How can I get my old iTunes music onto my new computer without access to my old computer? I left my previous job and forgot to transfer my music. I bought iTunes match and it shows my old Mac as a device, but I cannot access any of the old music. All I can find are what was on my iPhone, but that's not what I want. I need all my old music from my old Mac, which has been wiped clean by IT at my old job. BUT, I did have iCloud at that time and I thought all my music would be accessible through it. I don't understand the Cloud! And I'm thinking spending $24.99 on iTunes Match was a waste of money because I still can't access my old music.
When you are done with this issue, consider the computer back at the office may still
have access to your iTunes account, and it should be de-auhorized. You can do that
remotely, but be sure you carefully do not mess up your other computer iTunes libraries.

Sorry to hear about this problem. What site are you trying to log in on? Is it a Mozilla site? Usually you don't need to register or sign in to a Mozilla site to use Firefox. Usually you can just go straight to where you want to go.

I changed jobs and bought a new phone. I would like to get my iBooks info on my new phone but it is under my old account. When I try to log in under the old account i get a message that I will not be able to log back onto my new account for a period of time. HOw do i get the information from my old account over to my new account?
You can't currently transfer purchases/downloads from one account to another account.
When you download past purchases from an account then you will potentially tie the device (or computer if you do it on that) to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
Have you got the ibooks already on your computer and/or on a backup so that you can sync them to your new iPhone ? If not then have you bought anything on your new account yet - could you go back to just using the old account ? -

I have a problem with Swing and Threads, I hope you help me (because I'm in the firsts two weeks in my new job)
I have two classes:
Form1: Its a JPanel class with JProgressBar and JLabel inside.
FormularioApplet: (the main) Its a JPanel class with a form1 inside.
I have to download a file from a server and show the progress of the download in the JProgressBar. To make it I do this:
In Form1 I make a Thread that update the progress bar and gets the fole from the server.
In FormularioApplet (the main) I call to the method getDownloadedFile from Form1 to get the File.
THE PROBLEM:
The execution of FormularioApplet finishes before the Thread of Form1 (with download the file) download the file. Then, when I call in FormularioApplet the variable with the file an Exception: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-1" java.lang.NullPointerException is generated.
First main begins his execution, then call to Form1 (a thread) then continues his execution and when the execution is finished ends the execution os Form1 and his thread.
How can I do for main class call the function and the Thread download his file after main class assign the file of return method?
How can I pass information froma class include an a main class. Form1 can't send to main (because main class made a Form1 f1 = new Form1()) any information from his end of the execution. I think if Form1 can say to main class that he finishes is job, then main class can gets the file.
I put in bold the important lines.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
