New JRE keeps crashing my server
I am running Windows 2003 Server. It has always been a very stable server, rarely requiring reboot. Yesterday I updated to the newest JRE 5.0 update 9. Since that time, I can't keep my server up for even 5 minutes. I've tried almost 20 times to uninstall it, but my server won't even stay up long enough for me to uninstall it. That is the only change made on my server in almost a month. I have windows updates turned off. There is obviously something really wrong with this update. Please advise.
The PC crashes results in a weird mosaic pattern on the screen and completely locks up the PC - always need to press Reset to reboot
There's **never** an error message displayed.
This happens using either Internet Exlporer 8 or Firefox 3.6
And the onboard video chipset has the current drivers.
I just installed Ubuntu Linux, it works fine without any problem - it ***never*** crashes when playing videos.
I'm using a multi-boot system so I can switch back n forth between WinXP and Ubuntu
I didn't have to worry about anything during the Ubuntu install, all updates were downloaded automatically -- worked first time like a charm***
The Adobe version that's installed in Ubuntu is 10.2.r152
So far, I tired 10.0, 10.1 and 10.2 on WinXP without any success, it still keeps crashing the PC randonly while playing videos.
On my old PC, with a AMD Athlon 1.8Ghz CPU, and Adobe version 10.1, it never crashes
It runs slow but it _n_e_v_e_r_ crashes the PC
So now the question remains, is there something wrong with the WinXP install or is Adobe 10.2 incompatible wit WinXP ??
This WinXP is from an original licensed Microsoft CD, not some pirated copy, and I have SP3 file saved on my PC which I install also.
So the only thing that changed is buying this new motherboard - which works fine with Ubuntu Linux - wothout worrying about any driver issues.
So the suspicion still lies with windows version of Adobe running on WinXP 32bit with a Dual Core CPU.

My new iPad keeps "crashing" (losing apps, usually not Apple). This requires me to do a reset/erase and restore from backup. Does anyone else have this problem?
Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

Cheers, Tom -
All my new APPS keep crashing (goes back to home screen). They worked fine and now they just don't. I tried restarting the phone and even reinstalled a few APPS to see, but they just crash. Anyone have an idea as to what to do? I got the 2.0 firmware this morning from Apple.
I had the same problem. Here is what fixed it:
1. click on your iphone in itunes
2. select the "applications" tab
3. deselect "sync all apps" and hit "apply" - your apps will be deleted from your phone
4. reselect "sync all apps" and resync - your apps will be copied back to your phone
you may also need to go to the "Applications" area of your itunes Library and double click on the individual apps to authorize them -

Is dual core machine incompatible with the JRE I am using? This never happen when using a single core machine. Appreciate your assistance.Previously, I also had the same problem. it can happen due to the following issues.
1 . If you compile the java code using older version and tried to run it through newer version of java (This may be happened in your case)
2. If u just copy the java folders (YOU ARE NOT RUNNING THE JAVA SET UP) and tried to run java applications .This crash will happen mainly in the stand alone applications

New MacBook keeps crashing when using Excel 2004
Hi there. I have just started using a new macbook pro with Snow Leopard. When I am using Excel (2004) it keeps crashing, going to blue screen and then I have to re-enter my password. I keep losing a lot of work and it's infuriating me.
Does anyone know of a solution?
Thank youHi Personal Jesus;
I suggest you ask Microsoft since Excel is their product.

Computer keeps crashing. Took it back to authorized seller and they changed the ram, but continues to crash. Will be in the middle of any program and screen will black out,go back to restart. Very confusing as it's top of the line iMac.
This all started when my phone carrier remotely accessed my computer though to fix an unrelated problem.
Could this be the glitch?Computer and OS info, please. Then, provide a crash report.

New iPod keeps crashing out!
Hey there,
I just bought a New iPod and I'm having a few problems with it. Firstly, if i skip tracks it crashes if it do more than a couple. This can't be normal? Second, um is it normal that wiping the dust of an iPod scratches the crap out of it? It has a case which I keep it in all the time but i decided to give it a clean as it was a bit dusty inside (I moved house) and yeah, scratches.
ANy advice would be great,
thanks,
Chrismines only ever skiped when there was a gap in the mp3.. or is it most of them? i got scratches on mine the 1st day i had it all i did was put it on my desk..not sure about the skipping tracks unless ur doing it 1 after the other too fast

So this is my second breand new iMac that I ordered direct from the apple Website - I got it about 5 days ago. They had me return the first one because it kept crashing. Now this one does too...
Here is the crash report. It has crashed 3 times today - I have not installed any software that did not come with it (except Simcity, but it was crashing before that).
I have repaired the disk permissions already.
Can anyone help? I really dont want to return this one too - I have wasted a lot of time setting this up.

New user keeps crashing indesign CS3
So i had to add a new user for someone that needs to work on my station in the morning. I created a new admin user for them and everything else in CS3 suite works okay but indesign. Indeisgn launches okay but when a document is launched it crashes. This is on a G5 10.4.11 OSX. anyone have any clue?
Repairing permissions is never the answer but people give it out all the time. Even major vendors Mac support team do. Adobe doesn't use the .pkg format for their installers, therefore repair permissions will not help.
See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1452
Does Disk Utility check permissions on all files?
No. Files that aren't installed as part of an Apple-originated installer package are not listed in a receipt and therefore are not checked. For example, if you install an application using a non-Apple installer application, or by copying it from a disk image, network volume, or other disk instead of installing it via Installer, a receipt file isn't created. This is expected. Some applications are designed to be installed in one of those ways.
Rather than repairing permissions your better bet assuming you made them an administrator is to go to your Adobe InDesign CS3 folder and slap the Get Info (CMD+I) and check under permissions. I'll assume since you made them an admin that you are also an admin. Under permissions there is a second set of pulldowns called "Group" which are probably going to say "Administrator" on the first and "Read & Write" on the second. Select the second one, set to read, set back to read and write, hit the "Apply to Subfolders" button. You'll likely be prompted for your password.
Now open the Adobe InDesign CS3 folder, switch to List View, select all files, hit ALT+Right Arrow. Press select all once more, repeat the step above. This is because OS X is fairly poor about applying permissions.
If you are unconfident feel free to copy your entire folder to your Desktop prior to doing this.
I'd wager a shiny nickel you have installed a 3rd party plugin, could be as innocuous as a font manager autoactivation one. You won't see the errors from those oftentimes until a document is loaded. -

Solved!
Go to Solution.Ok. If you updated the OS, you also would have VERY likely updated one or more of those apps.
On your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced > Applications.
