New keypress bug in N95 after v12 update + other b...

Update v12 has rendered the whole phone practically useless. It misses keypresses - that is what is well known in this firmware, BUT the major pain in the **bleep** is that the end-call button doubles as a 9 on keypad and vice versa.
I cannot press n.9 on keypad cause it automatically closes the application (like sms editor) when pressed.
I can not dial numbers containing n. 9 , can not text messages etc...
Thanks nokia for this fw - really!
Did I mention that it also loses the microphone of my stannard handsfree (wired).
It also boots about 3-6 times a day.
Only thing that's improved an works (kinda cos' i can't type street names) is the gps.

This is really starting to bug me!
I tried to fix the odd behaviour via hard reset (green + 3 + *) the result being:
Cannot restore backup from sdcard - all of my contacts, messages are gone 4 good!
It just hangs up and reboots if i try to restore backup.
This is just splendit!

  • Bc4j bug at refresh after insert / update

having a table and a trigger on it that fills an attribute
in a 9i db. one can take the scott/tiger emp table and use the
    following trigger:
    create or replace trigger t_bri_emp
    before insert on emp
    for each row
    declare
    v_no number(7,2);
    begin
    select user_SEQ.nextval*100
    into v_no
         from dual;
    :new.sal := v_no;
    end;
then creating a bc4j project with an entity object based on this table (emp)
and a view object based on the created entity object.
!!!! when you create the bc4j project you must set the SQL Flavor to SQL92 or OLite
when you set the attribute settings, for the attribute the trigger is on (sal),
to refresh after insert / update or both in the entity object you get a
null pointer when you try to insert a new row and commit.

         oracle.jdbc.ttc7.NonPlsqlTTCColumn[] oracle ....................
all can be reproduced just useing the wizard and start the bc4j project with the tester
    any workaround ??

    Sven:
I looked into your issue. It turns out your problem is caused by a bug in the system (bug #2409955).
The bug is that for non-Oracle SQLBuilder, we are not processing refresh-on-insert and refresh-on-update attributes correctly. We end up forming an invalid SQL statement and the JDBC driver gives the obscure NullPointerException.
Thus, until 9.0.3, you should not use refresh-on-insert/update attributes on a non-Oracle SQLBuilder.
If you need the refresh-on-insert/update attribute, here is a possible workaround:
    1. Whenever you invoke the tester, on the first panel, click on the 'Properities' tab. In the list of properties, you should find one for 'jbo.SQLBuilder'. It will say 'SQL92'. Remove it, so that it is empty. Run test tester. Then, the tester will use Oracle SQLBuilder which will handle refresh-on-insert/update attributes correctly for you.
    2. For switching between Oracle SQLBuilder and SQL92 SQLBuilder, you can try the following:
2a) Locate bc4j.xcfg and your Project??.jpx under your 'src' directory.
2b) Make copies of these files.
2c) Edit them so that you have one set for Oracle SQLBuilder and one set for SQL92 SQLBuilder. For Oracle SQLBuilder, make sure these files do NOT have entries like:
    <jbo.SQLBuilder>..</jbo.SQLBuilder> in bc4j.xcfg and
    <Attr Name="_jbo.SQLBuilder" Value="..." /> in Project??.jpx
When there is no jbo.SQLBuilder entry, BC4J will default to Oracle.
For SQL92, make sure you have
    <jbo.SQLBuilder>SQL92</jbo.SQLBuilder> in bc4j.xcfg and
    <Attr Name="_jbo.SQLBuilder" Value="SQL92" /> in Project??.jpx.
Before you run, decide which SQLBuilder to use (for 9.0.2, with retrieve-on-insert/update attrs, you have no choice but to use Oracle SQLBuilder) and copy these files into your class path, e.g.,
    <jdev-install-dir>\jdev\mywork\Workspace1\Project1\classes
When you get 9.0.3, then you should be able to switch between Oracle and SQL92 SQLBuilders freely.
    Thanks.

  • Brand new macbook pro retina issues after yosmite update

My Macbook pro retina was working fine until I had Mavericks, but after updating to Yosemite the following problems has started.
Touch pad stops responding now and then
    Fails to open launchpad sometimes
    Boot camp wizard is missing
Scrolling doesn't work quite often in Safari
Fan starts running when cpu is cool without load, but fails to run when hot while playing games
    Battery performance is dropped.
    Computer has become comparatively sluggish.
    Doesn't display 'about this mac'.

I did call them and it seems there is no solution except sending it back to them and getting a new one.
This is by far the most strange issue I have seen. Seems more like a hardware issue than software.
Thanks for you suggestion though. I will post an update ones this case gets resolved.

  • X6 32gb Email fail after v12 update. May happen on...

    Hi
Has anyone experienced problems with Email app post update to v12?
I have the visible email notification bar across the home screen but it now is empty! Press it and nothing happens.
I have tried to disassociate my inboxes and retry but still same problems. I also tried to reapply the backup I took pre update but no luck as it does not backout the firmware update.
This is so annoying as now I am having trouble create my inboxes at all.
Is there a way to delete and reinstall the Email App?

i don't have X6 but as i saw from others, they did a soft reset then it worked again. ... backup your phone and do a soft reset *#7370#

  • Yoga 8 (B6000) bug auto-rotation after launcher update

Today I made the update of the lenovo launcher (by the way, I have th chinese version of the tablet), the auto-rotation doesn't work and it tells me at start-up that the apk (of the launcher I guess) is not compatible with my device...
The rotation works once an app is launched but not directly from the launcher...
Does anyone experience the same issue?

I suppose you speek about the update available on http://launcher.lenovo.com/launcher/portal.php . The website is only in chinese, so I thing only chinese people can help you.
What is the purpose of this update ?

Faster screen switching in Phone mode
Ability to specify ports in email settings
    Slightly smoother scrolling in Contacts

More ways to spend money on iTunes. Nothing else. Guess we'll have to wait till OS 10.5 for possible inclusion of any real useful features.

  • Finder Crash loop after mobileMe update, other apps crash too

    Hi,
after the mobileMe update 1.1 the Finder keeps crashing in a loop. iCal crashes on launch. iTunes crashes on launch. Some more third party apps are crashing with the same stack back trace as the Finder (CUnicodeTextension::CUnicodeTextension() in the main thread). All crashes occur reproducibly with the same stack back trace .
This happens in every account on the computer.
Is there any way to un- or reinstall the mobileMe update? There doesn't seem to be a download link...

Nobody gives an answer. Apple Care hasn't got a clue (as usual) but Apple has the time to censor messages on this forum.
I've lost about 8 hours work by now.
Maybe the subject of this question should be changed?
I've tried: pram-boot, secure boot (doesn't work), removing the battery, boot with install disk 1 and checking the HD and volume repair and privileges check....
    nothing helps.
last updates that caused the problem:
    AOS and MobileMe yesterday!

  • IPod in recovery mode after installing update!!!

I connected my 30 gig, 5th gen. iPod to my computer, and it recognized it. I clicked on 'check for update', of which there was one, ironically described as "bug fixes". After the update, my iPod restarted itself and is now in recovery mode. However, when I look under 'My Computer', it still recognizes my iPod by the name I gave it, and all of my photos are still intact and viewable in this mode. I have tried changing the drive letter and reinstalling iTunes, but both my iPod and iTunes are still giving me the recovery mode message.

Funny you should say that, and i'm so glad that i looked in here, as i first thought that it was something that i had done wrong, but now i am starting to wonder.
I have a similar problem with the 30gb ipod, i loaded everything ok onto my computer, even got to put some music on my ipod!
the next day i decided to re-arrange some tracks and remove some music that i no longer listen to. at this point I also recieved the update called "bug fixes" and since then the actual ipod says to connect to my computer and use itunes to restore, I have done this, and itunes goes through the process of restoring, says it has finished, and as soon as the ipod icon re-appears, it says that my ipod is in recovery mode and i need to restore.
I have done this now about 20 times, and i have tried various procedures that have been suggested on the web page, which includes removing and re-installing itunes, assign a new drive letter to the ipod, reinstalling the drivers.
I have tried everything that i can find with any relevance, but as i am not an IT technician, i dont want to keep trying things that i don't really understand.
Please help, as I want to listen to my music on this expensive music player, like i should be able to!
    thanks in advance

  • Can v have new update of N97 mini after v12

is there any possiblity of releasing some performence improvement in N97 mini through some new updates?

There are software updates after v12, and the last of them did solve a lot of the N97 issues according to what Nokia claimed. Did you get your N97 from your network operator? Often they have there own customised versions of the phone software, and if that is the case then Nokia has to wait for the network to approve updates before it can release them.

  • WLAN not working after v30 update on N95

I saw a previous thread about WLAN not working on the N96 after update.
I can now confirm that WLAN is also bugged for the N95-1 after firmware update to v30.
It tries connecting, then after a few seconds, I always get the message "WLAN: Unable to connect. WLAN network not found"
This did not happen a few minutes before the update. Last firmware version was the v22 (latest one before v30)
Has any fix been found? My main usage for my phone is for the wifi, and without it I can't do much

Nokia is the host of this forum, however the forum operates and functions with the participation of common folk, users from all over the world that either share passion for Nokia or are looking for support and answers from other community members...if you want to complain to Nokia there is a : Contact us - button on top right of this page...if you want to try to find answers patience sometimes is a virtue....now the issue of untrusted software, there are applications and sometimes themes that you have installed on your memory card/mass memory that will give that message when you go to application manager it will list the apps that are installed and that are not installed on your device, you can either install them manually or remove them from your phone, the next time you restart your phone you should have no problems with those messages. now the WLAN issue i am not sure about and I am almost certain it has nothing to do with your untrasted software messages.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....
