New Laptop and I can't transfer music.
I just bought a new laptop. I've installed the software and I've connected my Ipod Mini. It brought up a message once saying "this ipod is registered to another computer do you want to change it to this computer" Please be aware that I am paraphrasing. My old computer hasn't crashed. How can I get my songs from my old one, onto my new laptop. I did back my music up on a Seagate hard drive. Please help.
Snowman21,
I have the same problem. My old comp crashed (emachine) so I have to buy a new one. Unfortunately, I never do back-ups (not that technical). When I downloaded the new itunes in this new comp, it took my ipod, but my library is now empty. Fortunately, I have a folder in my pod "library" and that contains all of my songs in my library, but I tried to move those files to the library and it would not let me. If you get an answer, post it man, you'd definitely be helping me.
Thanks,
Fredman

i just got a new laptop and i tried to transfer my music but it didnt work, it got erased form my ipod touch and its not on my computer can i get it back
If, for some reason, you can't do it the way Templeton Peck describes, see:

I bought a new laptop and used Windows Easy Transfer cable and moved all files from one computer to another. I installed iTunes and found my iTunes music Library. However, when I plug in my iPod it says it is already synced with another iTunes Library.
I don't see anything in Help that shows when you already have transfered all the files over. Why would it want to erase and sync when I already have all the music folder copied over? I didn't have an issue when I had another technician copy from one laptop to another. Home sharing is also on but not being recognized.I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

I just got a brand new laptop and I can't seem to put music onto my iPhone - help?
I just got a brand new laptop and I can't seem to put music onto my iPhone - help? I'd really rather not completely empty my iPhone in order to have it agree with this new laptop. How do I get them to talk to one another and let me put my music on my iPhone?
The iPhone will only Sync to One iTunes Library at a time.

I just purchased a new laptop and want to have access to my iTunes, but I am not certain what I should do. For example, do I need to install iTUNES or should I copy and past iTunes via a flash disk?

I just bought a new ipod shuffle, how can i transfer music from my old ipod onto the new one
How do I transfer from my old ipod to my new ipod
You can't transfer it directly. If the old iPod is set to sync to your iTunes library on the computer, everything on the iPod is in your iTunes library. Just set up the shuffle to sync from your iTunes library as desired.
If the old iPod is set to Manually manage music, AND there are songs on the iPod that are not in your current iTunes library, please post back. -
I had to purchase a new laptop, since my old one crased. I downloaded iTunes, and my library came up. I followed the directions given, synced ipod, authorized computer and was given a pop up that stated 25 of my songs could not be transferred.Go to Store, authorize computer and resync. Which I did. When I authorize computer another pop up appears and it states this computer is already authorized. I am getting really frustrated. I have gone to the Apple store several times, had to make appointments as they were to busy to help me then. I show up for appointments to either be told, no appointment appears in their schedule, or they are running over an hour late. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Why can't the songs be transferred to the device? Is it because they are not authorized? Were these 25 tracks purchased/downloaded with the same account you have used to authorize the PC/new iTunes library?

Hi i have recently updated my 1st generation ipod touch to find that it has wiped all my purchased music .My itunes libray is on an old laptop i no longer have . any ideas please
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later. Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid. Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.

I bought a new laptop and have lost all my music library when installing itunes?
This will be the third Laptop that I have authorised but when I installed iTunes to it, my entire music library had disappeared, only purchased items were there. It's worked ok previously when I authorised the old Laptop so I am really confused as to where it's all gone. I spent weeks loading over 500 CD's to the library and now no longer have them to do it all over again. Someone please help!
Unless you have subscribed to iTunes Match signing into your iTunes account on a new computer only gives you access to your past purchases. You need to migrate the iTunes library from your previous computer or recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

My custom ringtones don't show up in my iTunes library (only on my iPhone library) so I'm afraid that if I sync to the new computer I'll lose my tones. I've tried backing up on my computer, but then I can't find that information to bring into iTunes. I've tried backing up to the Cloud, but it requires me purchasing more space (which I don't want to do). I've already turned off most of my apps, but I'm still over the limit.

How do I authorize my new laptop so I can use my music from cloud?
I bought a new latop recently and I downloaded Itunes. Once it was downloaded the Cloud kicked in once I logged into my AppleID. But it won't let me play anything until my computer is authorized through the account. I have no idea how too do that. Help me please?
