New laptop - cs6 too small to use!

I have just bought a new laptop with screen resolution of 2560x1440.
When I installed my cs6 software I found that it was too small to use!
Any help on what to do would be gratefully received - I don't mind if I have to purchase an upgrade if it enables me to use the software.
Would a second screen be any use, with a lower resolution?

Sorry for the trouble.
Photoshop CS6 does not support Hidpi monitors. We have to change the screen resolution to 1920*1080.

I have just bought a new laptop with a high resolution screen - 2560x1440 - and like many others, I'm finding that the user interface for my cs6 software is too small to use.
I have just found the following advice for HiDPI devices on Adobe Illustrator Help:
For displays with resolution greater than or equal to 2560*1440, Illustrator can be launched at 1.5 times or 2 times scaled-up UI, depending on the OS text size.
I'm not very computer savvy, and I don't know how to do that - can anybody help please?

How does one remedy this Adobe error message? "Can't scale the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too small to use." This one always gets me. I'll spend more time trying to find the object in question. This has happened in almost al versions, but this time it's CS5.

Hmm, possible solution would be to select your object(s), scale them to 90%, and then hit Cmd+D or Control+D to repeat the transformation. I read that sometimes if you scale down too much and too fast it can cause this message.

Could you please let me know what error prompts on your screen when you are trying to enter the serial number.
Have you bought subscription for Acrobat, if yes then you might need to sign in at "adobe.com" using your Adobe ID credentials to activate subscription.

CS6 too small on Surface 3 device

I just purchased a Surface 3. Very happy with the device, but bought it because it touted being able to run Photoshop. I installed CS6 and the icons are too small to read! I noticed that Creative Cloud has a new option in Preferences called "Experimental Feature" where one can chose to "Scale UI 200%", however this is not an option with the CS6 Creative Suite I have purchased. Is there a solution?

There is none. CS6 does not support high-DPI devices on Windows.

I am currently looking at purchasing a new laptop and I have been reading through different threads to try and make sense of what I need.
I am a current user of CS6 Photoshop, Lightroom and Premier Pro. I use these programs with my footage Captured from a Canon T3i (both Photos and Video) and I would classify myself as a hobbyist, I make short docs and edit photos.

With an upgraded hard drive this will cost either $1114 or $1269 depending if I go with a 250 GB SSD or a 500 GB SSD.

You need at least two drives for video editing... SSD works for boot/software, and then a separate 7200rpm drive for project and video files
If there is no way to put an internal drive in the laptop, you may use an external... IF it is not USB2

Previous laptop crashed, got a new laptop but I can't use my iphone with it

My old laptop crashed and is now inaccessible. Not only is all my music on itunes on that computer, but it was also the computer that I used to sync my iphone 4 with for updates, music, and other media files. So now with my new laptop, I can't put more music on my iphone 4 and I can't download the iOS 5 update.I can authorize my itunes account on my new laptop, but I can't download the update or manage the music on my iphone without clearing everything that is on my iphone. Retrieving the music wouldn't be a problem if all my music was bought from itunes on my account, however a large part of my music is from other sources. I'd also like to download the iOS 5 update without completely wiping out my iphone 4.
Any way I can sync my iphone with my new laptop that won't clear my iphone's memory? And is it possible to get my music from my old laptop back? I know this question is similar to others that have previously been asked, but its different in that my old laptop is completely inaccessible.
Extra info:
-I tried to backup my old laptop when it was pretty much dead. I was able to backup some files, however not my music.
-Both laptops are PCs.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I fear that I have maxed out illustrator in some fashion, the illustration
has complex texture elements,many many small elements for stone/brick

We have a small business that runs quickbooks on a desktop we are looking for a laptop that will be able to run quickbooks and go online. But I have no idea what to look at. I do not want all the bells and whistles. Does anyone have an idea of what I would need?

For what you need you do not need anything powerful.
how portable do you need it to be?
Perhaps base what you purchase based on screen size as a good place to start.
Most of your laptops are going to have wifi and ethernet and the ability to plug in a second monitor.
I would suggest staying away from the Netbooks. You don't need anything robust but they are really more designed more for internet and email. I would also suggest staying away from most tablets. Many of them run Android and would not work in the first place, others have a scaled back version of windows that is not cabalble of runnig all software.
Check with quickbooks to see if it will work on Windows 8. Getting hard to find any machine that is not Windows 8. you may have to upgrade quickbooks to a newer version.
This one is a good price and should suffice your needs.

How can I purchase an unlimited license for CS6 for use by a small business? We need to be able to use CS6 tools on at least 6 different computers, both macs and PCs.
Do I have to purchase CS6 from another individual or business and transfer the license or is it still somehow available through Adobe? How can I determine how many users are allowed and the price of the product? Do I have to purchase the entire Creative Suite, or can I just purchase an unlimited license for Photoshop 6 only?

New Ovi maps - too small?

I recently sent my phone off to be repaired, they couldn't and I was sent a brand new one in replacement (sorry, it's an N97).
I've just come to install the UK maps on my device and it's only 160mb. Is this right, since last time I installed the UK maps it was well over 1GB.
So what's going on here? Have I installed the full UK maps or has something gone wrong here?
I'm using latest version of maps, ovi suite and map loader.

OVI Maps v3 for UK has always been about 150Mb + Voice files and the whole of Europe 2.2GB. Nokia Maps v2 were much more wasteful of space though!

Does the symptom occur with more than one Wi-Fi device?
Wi-Fi issues may be related to the network in question or they may be related to the Wi-Fi computer joining that network. Usually, if other computers or devices (such as the Apple TV or iPhone) are able to get on the Internet without issues, then your Wi-Fi router is probably fine.
If you only have one Wi-Fi device, proceed with this article.
Make sure your software is up-to-date.
Install all software updates available for your Mac.
If you use a third-party Wi-Fi router, check with the manufacturer to confirm that it has the latest firmware installed. If an update is available, follow the manufacturer's instructions for updating the firmware.
To determine if your Apple Wi-Fi base station firmware is up-to-date, see Updating your software.
Check your connections.
Some networking issues may be caused by loose or disconnected cables. Verify that all Ethernet and power cables connected between your modem and your Wi-Fi router are correct. Checking that devices such as your router and modem are on, disconnecting and carefully reconnecting Ethernet cables, and/or replacing damaged Ethernet cables may resolve the issue without any further troubleshooting.

The screen o f my laptop is too small for your display

Your screens come double the size of mine and I have to keep shifting from one side to the other to see anything.

Why don't you try selecting a lower resolution in Displays preferences? Or you can change the font size for icon text and Finder windows by using the View Options selection from the Finder's View menu.
Click on the Desktop and select Show View Options from the Finder's View menu or press COMMAND-J. There is a drop down menu for changing the font size. Click on a Finder window and do the same thing to change the text size in a Finder window.
If these don't help enough then try using the Zoom feature which is enabled in the Universal Access preferences. Normally you can press the CTRL key then zoom the entire screen using the mouse's scroll wheel (if you have such a mouse.)

New messages in Mail too small to read

In the last couple of weeks new messages are too small to read. Changing orientation and zooming makes them readable. Anybody know what happened?

It seems the option was removed from iOS 4.0 onwards. Helpful! You can now use the enlarge text option under Settings > General > Accessibility, though this will increase text size across a number of the (built in/Apple only) apps not just mail.
As the problem has only just started happening I would be tempted to assume it's a glitch. Have a go at:
1) Ending all apps completely with a double tap if the home button, followed by closing all of the running apps, particularly mail!
2) Then give the phone a true turn off, press and hold the power button until you get the red power off option.
3) Turn it on, if the issue persists, try turning your mail account off on the iPhone (Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars) > Highlight your Account > Slide the Mail option to 'Off'. This will temporarily make your email in available on the device.
4) Run the mail app again. It should prompt you for a new mail account. Ignore and return to the previous step / menu.
5) Slide mail back to 'On'.
Let me know if that makes any difference.

Installation rules will let you install the software on two computers. If you have only installed it once, you should be able to install it on the other computer. If you have already installed the software twice and you don't have access to your previous computer or you upgraded your computer's hardware, replace a hard drive, upgraded your operating system, or reformatted your drive before deactivating your software, you can ask Adobe Support to help you deactivate the software from the machine. Just have your serial number or Adobe ID ready, and then contact support. Then you can install the software from the links above and enter your serial number to re-activate the software.
If you need to find your serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section. For more information on locating serial numbers, or on registering a serial number, please see Find a serial number.
