New Laptop CS6

I am currently looking at purchasing a new laptop and I have been reading through different threads to try and make sense of what I need.
I am a current user of CS6 Photoshop, Lightroom and Premier Pro. I use these programs with my footage Captured from a Canon T3i (both Photos and Video) and I would classify myself as a hobbyist, I make short docs and edit photos.
I am buying a new laptop because I travel for work and would like a PC that can come with me and I can use to edit while I am gone. One system I am looking at buying through computerupgradeking.com is the Asus N56VJ-DH71 Notebook, here are the specs of this machine:

With an upgraded hard drive this will cost either $1114 or $1269 depending if I go with a 250 GB SSD or a 500 GB SSD.
Does this system seem reasonable given what I have outlined above? If not what needs the most improvement? Also is it possible to get a laptop around the same price that would do better?

You need at least two drives for video editing... SSD works for boot/software, and then a separate 7200rpm drive for project and video files
If there is no way to put an internal drive in the laptop, you may use an external... IF it is not USB2
External eSata or USB3 are both fast enough for video editing... eSata is better - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1117813

When I installed my cs6 software I found that it was too small to use!
Any help on what to do would be gratefully received - I don't mind if I have to purchase an upgrade if it enables me to use the software.

Sorry for the trouble.
Photoshop CS6 does not support Hidpi monitors. We have to change the screen resolution to 1920*1080.

I own CS6 on my old laptop and can't find the discs. How can I recover it and install it on my new laptop?

I have the serial number for CS4, and I have the box for CS5, but can't find CS6. However CS6 is installed on my old laptop. I am moving to a newer laptop, and discovered the absence of the discs. I probably stored in my office and can't find them now. In fact, the office is a disaster since my husband died and I can't find anything! Well, maybe the printer, but that's about it. Any suggestions? I do not want to start paying $50 a month for a subscription or even $20. I want CS6 on here. Is there a download online for owners? I think I can get the serial number on CS6 that is installed on my old laptop.
Used to be you could chat online with a customer service rep and get this all straightened out. Now I can only find help in forums. If anyone knows how to get through to a customer service rep, please let me know.

For the serial number, if the software was registered when it was originally installed then the serial number should be available thru the online Adobe account for which it was registered.

Problems installing Photoshop CS6 on New Laptop

My old laptop had a hard drive crash and is dead. I bought a new laptop yesterday (windows 8.1) and downloaded cs6, which I had installed on the old laptop. When I enter my serial number, a message says that no version of photoshop was found on my computer (which is true, it's a new computer). How do I get up and running again with cs6 on my new laptop. Have you tried pressing the return key? Which Mac laptop are you using? What are the settings you see under Resolution in the Display preference pane?

New Laptop for PS CS6 and LR5

I have a new Windows 8 laptop and need to install PS CS6 (an upgrade on former laptop) and LR5 (also an upgrade). The new laptop doesn't have an optical drive. I also can't locate my PShop serial number.

I purchased and installed CS6 Design Standard onto a laptop that previously bit the dust. I am unable to locate my serial number, but I do have the installation CD's and product codes. Is there anyway I can install the Adobe CS6 Design Standard onto my new laptop?

You could only get the serial number (which is required) if the product was registered. You could check on Adobe.com.

That tells me nothing, not the precise wording of the error message, nor exactly what you downloaded.
Now that we got the B.S. out of the way, let me address your last post:
The message you're paraphrasing now is simply telling you that you need to input the serial number of the previous version that you used to upgrade to Photoshop CS6. That's all.
It doesn't matter one iota that you have an upgrade of an upgrade of an upgrade…
ALL Adobe upgrades are FULL INSTALLERS. They do not touch your previous installation and don't need it in the least. When they install the new version, your previous installation remains untouched. The only reason it looks for the previous version is to see if they can save you the trouble of inputting the old serial number as swell as the new one. When they don't find a prior version installed, the installer simply prompts you for the old serial number as well as for the new one. That is what the message is telling you now.
I really don't care about the specs or description of your new machine. They are utterly irrelevant.
Try the installation again, and don't take your eyes off the screen for a split second until you are prompted for the old serial number.
If you run into a roadblock, post a screen capture of each step in the installation.

I am glad that what you now have described has absolutely nothing to do with "Migrating" anything, which is what caused the confusion and my alarm. Try not to use incorrect tdrminology when requesting help. That doesn't help you communicate.

Forget that part. The apps won't work. Adobe apps must be installed properly. That may well explain your issues with CS6, too. Generalyl, though, there is no need to uninstall older versions...

I contacted Adobe support Chat and they confirmed the serial number and gave me a response code number to enter. Once that was entered the product downloaded immediately. The whole process took 10 minutes. Thank you for your response. I'm all good now.

Stolen laptop- moving Photoshop CS6 to a new laptop.

I have recently had my house broken into and my Mac with Adobe Photoshop CS6 on was stolen. (Student and Teacher addition.)
I have logged on to my adobe ID in the hope that I would be able to re-download it when I get a new laptop, but I can't see much information regarding this. I have read that I would need to deactivate my old Photoshop on the old laptop, but I obviously cannot do this. Without being able to deactivate the old one, will I be able to move the software across to a new laptop when I get one?
I have the serial number- but will this not work as it has been used on my old laptop?

if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem.
