New Laptop / iPod.
I recently purchased a copy of Windows 7 and have loaded it onto my old Dell Laptop. I oriogonally had a 32GB iPod touch, but it was stolen and now have a new 64GB Model.
My question is, I had hundreds of Apps / songs that I had purchased from the iTunes Store. Obviously these are not on my new iPod, and because I had to reinstall windows, they are no longer on my Laptop.
I am still using the same iTunes account.
Is there any way to:
a) Automatically download all my purchases (apps + music) onto my new iTunes.
b) Deauthorize my old operating system (Understandably I had to add another authorisation for this OS even though it is the same laptop)
Where is your backup? You should always maintain a backup for this very reason.

You can't de-authorize the old OS. There is no need to. When you get to 5 - the max - then you can de-authorize all and re-authorize the computers that you still use.

IPOD VIDEO Windows XPOk. First of all, you really gotta be more patient. We don't get paid to do this, and a lot of people look around here for answers or try to help and don't know the answer, so that is where all of those views came from.

New laptop, ipod doesn't list music
We set up a new ipod on a desktop then a few months later bought a laptop with vista.
When plugging the i pod in it shows the user name but doesn't list what music is on the i pod.
Memory at the bottom does indicate music saved as memory has been used.
Also I wasn't able to transfer music from I tunes to I pod
Are there any suggestions as to what is wrong.

By the way, a problem I have with my iPod Shuffle 2nd Genr is that whenever I reinstall my Windows XP and plug in the iPod, iTunes asks me to erase and sync the iPod with the music folder !!! This FORCES the iPod to delete all my music ! Anyone knows how to solve the problem ?

Your computer has to be authorized to use your iTunes content: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
And you can only sync to one computer at a time. Each time you change to another iTunes library, your content will be erased and replaced with the content of the new iTunes. -
2-3 old ipod touch is no longer syncing to itunes library, which was recently moved to new laptop.
Recently moved my library of music, audiobooks, and podcasts to new laptop with Windows 8, at which time I upgraded my itunes software as well. My 2-3 year old ipod touch is no longer syncing properly. Audiobooks and podcasts are fine (after much effort), but all of two songs out of an extensive music library are the only ones syncing. I see them in my library on the new computer and have managed to sync them to my iphone 5 as well. Ipod touch appears to have ample file storage space left. What gives? Is the i-pod touch already useless with the latest Itunes software? Operator error? Hardware problem? I don't know what to think. Have been using ipods for years without this issue.

Syncing iphone and ipod to new laptop
I have just got a new laptop and am trying to sync my iphone and ipod to it
everything is on another computer.
I have managed to drag my itunes folder from my old computer to a usb stick and transfer it to my laptop.
If I sync them will I loose all my music, ringtones and apps etc?
Can anyone advise please?You won't lose them, but they will be erased from the phone then put back on (so it may take a while).

So I just got a new laptop yesterday because my other one fried.. I just downloaded itunes and was just about to plug in my ipod but then hesitated because I didn't know whether if I would lose all my songs or not. I have got an iPod Touch on IOS 5.1.1, which contained my music library, including uploaded CDs and purchases. I have a new laptop (using Windows 7) and upIoaded my music library from the iPod, using Tunejack, onto the laptop. I then made a few purchases but these weren't showing up on my iPod, so in frustration, thinking this would rectify the problem, I then re-booted the iPod, with the result that my entire music library disappeared from it. I then went to sync with my lap top and went in under the 'Music' tab and clicked on download 'entire music library' but nothing happens. I have also tried 'selected playlists, artists, albums and genres' but this has not worked as well. The same issue dows not apply with eitehr my iPad 2 or my iPhone 4S. As mentioned, this music library did come from my iPod so there is no space issue. If anyone has any suggestions i would be grateful.
Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

You can deauthorise all 5 at once, then reauthorize the one you want.

hi,i just got a new laptop and i need to know if there is a way to get the music on your ipod that you havent bought from itunes but have got from a 3rd party onto your computer.
Apple doesn't have that functionality. You will need to use a third party ipod to pc copy utility like [copytrans|http://www.copytrans.net/iphone-ipod-touch-backup.php]. I'm sure there are many, I'm just familiar with that one.

I had to purchase a new laptop, since my old one crased. I downloaded iTunes, and my library came up. I followed the directions given, synced ipod, authorized computer and was given a pop up that stated 25 of my songs could not be transferred.Go to Store, authorize computer and resync. Which I did. When I authorize computer another pop up appears and it states this computer is already authorized. I am getting really frustrated. I have gone to the Apple store several times, had to make appointments as they were to busy to help me then. I show up for appointments to either be told, no appointment appears in their schedule, or they are running over an hour late. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Why can't the songs be transferred to the device? Is it because they are not authorized? Were these 25 tracks purchased/downloaded with the same account you have used to authorize the PC/new iTunes library?

I have an old laptop running WinXP Home SP3 with iTunes 10.2x installed. I sync my old iPod Classic120GB and a newer iPod Touch 2nd Gen 8GB. I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 Pro. I am moving everything to the new one. I did not have a problem with the old iPod. But when I tried to sync the Touch it just freezes while trying to backup the existing contents. I have read a few support docs and have tried some of them where I have to tweak some of Window's Admin tools. I have also uninstallled and installed iTunes. There are so many things to try in the troubleshooting steps that I can't really figure out which is which. I also can't backup the contents of my current iPod Touch by attaching the device and right-clicking on it. The Backup context menu just isn't there.
I currently have iTunes v10.3x and I need some "serious" help. :-) I did the Run Diagnostic with the device attached. I looked at the report and saw something that might be the cause. I am running iTunes not as the administrator. But if I try to run it as an admin, the Library is now different and I'm just "scared" to screw things up some more.

I'm going on a hike tomorrow with my dad and I'd been reluctant to download iTunes on my new laptop but finally decided to install it so I could have new music for the trip. I bought nearly ninety new songs, all of which appeared in my library, and on my account they are shown with my old songs. But my iPod isn't syncing the new music? Really I planned to start from scratch and not have them together, but that would be fine if they would just download. I don't understand. They're in my library, but won't download to my iPod.

Recently, I bought a new laptop (a Lenovo), so I downloaded iTunes to it. When I bought new music from iTunes for the first time on the new computer, I went to my music library and there was no music, except for the new songs I had just bought. I have no idea what happened, I've had hundreds of songs I've bought from iTunes or downloaded from bought CDs over the years, which are all still on my iPod (nano, from 2008), and suddenly they just didn't seem to exist. I have yet to access the iTunes account on my previous laptop to see if my music is still there, but I would assume yes. When I went to sync my iPod to my iTunes to at least get the new songs to the iPod (so that my complete library can be on at least one device), I realized that in order to sync my iPod to my iTunes, I would be deleting all my old music and replacing it with the new. So now, I only have a few new songs on my laptop's iTunes, and only my old songs on my iPod. In both cases I paid for all the music, so I don't want to just delete any of it. Is there any way to fix this?
Also-I tried to use my backup hard drive, but I wasn't able to drag/transfer/send/move any of my muic files onto my iTouch when the iTouch was connected to my computer. I can't figure out why it won't let me do that.
The only thing I can see when I open my iTouch on my computer is my file with photos. I can't see videos, music, or anything else. What's going on?
