New laptop not syncing new purchases

I just bought a new dell laptop. I have authorized the itunes library on my new lap(it's my 3rd pc that's authorized) and it has my purchased songs, but now I've purchased some new ones, and the new songs won't sync.
Any ideas?
I've bought some new cd's, and they sync just fine, but not the purchases off itunes web site.
Thx.

Try playing one or more of the Purchased Songs within iTunes. That usually gets the process working after a computer authorization.
Then re-sync your iPod.
Best of Luck

  • Is there any way to transfer an entire library from an ipod to a new laptop (not just the purchases)?

My laptop was stolen that had my itunes installed and was synced with my ipod classic. I now have a new laptop. Is there any way I can transfer ALL the music from my ipod to itunes on the new laptop, not just the purchases? I don't have access to all the CD's etc that I originally downloaded onto my ipod.

  • HT2729 itouch 5 will not sync movies purchased from itunes that are in my itunes library.

My new itouch5 will not sync movies purchased from itunes thatsare saved in my itunes library.

    Mike, Hi
Thanks for yoursuggestions. I did see that article, tried correcting the permissions, looked at a few of the other things, but this doesn't make sense. This would only be the second computer that had these purchased songs on them. SO the 5 computer limit should have nothing to do with it.
The weird thing is how the computer tells me that it's not authorized to play the purchased songs and gives me the opportunity to put in either an AOL code or an Apple ID code to authorize this computer to play the song. I do it. I get a message that, congratulations, the computer has been successfully authorized to play the song. But then it simply does not play and when you try to play it it just recycles right back to the original message saying that the computer is not authorized.

  • ITunes will not sync Store purchases

Right after my friend upgraded my iBook to Mac OS 10.4, I synced my third generation iPod nano with iTunes. After it spent 2 hours or so transferring the music (USB 1.1...), I get this message that says, "Some of the files including (whatever video it named) will not be synced with this iPod, because they cannot be played by this iPod.
What I don't get - I purchased these videos from the iTunes store. Shouldn't it download files in a format and size compatible with iPods?
All of them are in the .m4v format, and my iPod software is up to date, I have version 1.1.
When I right-click any purchased video in the library, there is no option to convert it for iPod/iPhone like there would be for any other. There is only an option Convert Selection to AAC.
I put copies of the exact same videos onto my iPod from my PC, and had no problems.
There are no settings in iTunes preferences that could have anything to do with this, so I am out of ideas.

The solution you gave me worked the first time, but when my iPod was almost done syncing, I realized it was still formatted for Windows, so I stopped the sync and Restored my iPod. Now that it is formatted for a Mac, I get the same problem. It says my iPod cannot play the videos, so it will not sync them.
I tried deauthorizing my computer again (about five times), yet the problem still persists.

  • Ipad will not sync recently purchased TV shows

I recently purchased season passes to Breaking Bad and Dexter.  The shows download to my computer, but when I try and sync them to my iPad the check box is there but they will not sync.  The only way I can get them on my iPad is to go to iTunes and re-download them.  I have reset my iPad and all my software is up to date.  I tried going to the settings on my iPad and selected the manual manage music and videos and tried that and that did not work.  I looked on the intertubes and found one other thread on this and there was no answer, I called Apple support and they had no answer.......anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks Demo,
I don't have 2 ID's, but I think the problem is this super wierd issue.  I am logged into my iTunes account on my computer but when I try and go to my recently purchased items it asks for my Apple ID, I try and type that in and I get into this endless circle of iTunes continuously asking for my ID, even though in the corner it says I'm logged in.  The strangest part is that I am allowed to purchased stuff, but I can't look at my purchased stuff and when I do I get the endless cycle of trying  to login.  I call support and their only suggestion was to take out half my preferences, log out, restart, see if that worked.  If not take out the next half, and keep taking out half, restarting, logging back in, and keep doing that until I find the problem.  That would take longer then just re-downloading, so I guess I'm just stuck.

  • IPod Will Not Sync iTunes Purchased Music

My 20gb 4th gen iPod is no longer syncing purchased music fron iTunes… I am working with the later version of iTunes and the latest version of the iPod software… I moved my entire iTunes library to a new computer and authorized the new computer (auth #2)… I connected the iPod and synced the library, but none of the newly purchased music went down to the iPod… The existing purchased iTunes music already on the iPod stayed there… The track information is on the iPod in the appropriate playlist as if it was there, but the song is not there… If I try playing the tracks, the iPod just goes through each track in less than a second…
So I updated the iPod with the latest software and did a full update to erase the contents completely… I plugged in and began a new sync… Again, all of my mp3 in my library came across, but none of the purchased iTunes music… The track information came over, but no song… So I now have no purchased music on my iPod…
This is a new Dell XPS laptop w/ Windows XP MC edition…
Anyone with thoughts on this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated…
    Thanks in advanced…

If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

  • Not syncing my purchased music

    Hello all,
Well, I've recently moved to Vista (not of my free choice, new computer and all)... and just recently hooked up my iPod to my computer.
I've gotten a few "Microsoft wants to fix the iPod directory by scanning and fixing" but I can't seem to do that because when I click "Scan and fix" it says "We can't find that directory." Thank you, Bill Gates.
Anyway, I chose "Erase iPod and re-sync" because it had to... it only syncs to one library at a time. That seemed to work fine.
However, two new songs I purchased won't sync. I've tried to disconnect/reconnect the iPod. I've tried to right-click on the iPod and choose "Sync".
These two songs are in my library...but they won't appear in my iPod. What's going on?
    Thanks for any help!
    Ted

i'm having a similar problem. my computer says it's authorized. and i can play the purchased music on the computer. but it won't sync the music automatically to the ipod, nor will it let me do so manually. this seems to be a relatively new phenomenon that started a few months ago when i added an external hard drive containing my old desktop PC files to a laptop.

  • ICloud not syncing all purchased songs

I currently have three devices associated with my Apple ID: a Windows Vista desktop, a Windows 7 laptop, and an iPod 2 with iOS 5 on it. On each of these, iTunes is the most recent version. In each, I'm able to sync MOST of my purchased music from the iTunes store, but not all of it. I'm at just over a thousand tracks successfully synced, and 121 songs that won't sync. The music that I haven't been able to sync ranges from albums purcased at least a year ago to songs purchased within the past month. It's the same music that won't sync from device to device.
Essentially, the download previous purchases section of iTunes looks somewhat broken.
As can be seen here, I have "All Songs" selected, "Not In My Library" selected, iTunes is aware that there's 121 songs missing but isn't showing anything there. These are songs that I've previous purchased but which are not available for me to download. The window is identical on my laptop, and while the view differs slightly on my iPad due to the slightly different UI, a very similar thing is showing with exactly the same problem.
The songs still exist in iTunes itself as part of the same albums and with the same cover art; I seem to have the option of purchasing them again. So far, I haven't tried that. So, the issue definitely doesn't seem to that the songs are no longer available. I've tried to deauthorize and reauthorize each of my devices, I've restarted iTunes, the computers, the iPad, I've reset the iPad to factory settings and then tried again from scratch.
The end result is I currently have all my Flo Rida and Ke$ha songs, which sync just fine via the iCloud, but I'm missing Bob Dylan and Garbage.
Does anyone know if A) there's a solution, or B) Apple has acknowledged the issue and indicated that a fix is pending?

Posted this on another thread a few days back:
I have a theory about this. Could you all please check this? I have just sent the following email to my contact at Apple:
    Hi Younus,
I may have noticed a pattern.
It would seem that the majority of the music which I am missing is that which costs £0.79. I have spotted in several albums where I bought songs that those which cost me £0.99 are still available from my purchase history to redownload, where those which cost me £0.79 are not.
I hope this will help you get to the bottom of the problem and would appreciate an update when the matter is rectified. In the meantime, I will continue to back up my music manually.
    Examples of missing tracks:
"Disarray" and "Easier To Be" by Lifehouse. Purchase number: xxxxxxxxxxxx at £0.79 each are not available for me to redownload whereas "Broken" for which I paid £0.79 IS still available for me to redownload from my purchase history
"Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters and the story of a Lonely Girl", " 4am Forever" and "A Town Called Hypocrisy" by lostprophets. Purchase Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxx at £0.79 each are not avaialble for me to redownload where as "Rooftops" which I paid £0.99 for IS still available for me to redownload for my purchase history
The album "Rocky Balboa: The Best of Rocky (Remastered) allows me to redownload every track (all at £0.99) with the sole exception of the first track "Gonna Fly Now (Theme From "Rocky" )which is THE ONLY track on the album costing £0.79. Purchase Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I don't think is a co-incidence so would appreciate you feeding this back to Apple and seeing if this is a problem in other people's cases as well. If there has been a change in Apple's billing systems or something else this could be what has triggered this issue. This only started becoming an issue for me personally a few days after iOS5 was released so if anything changed at Apple's end around this time this could be to blame.
Could you please update me once you have fed this theory back to the business / engineers?
    Thanks,
    Mike.

  • Why wont my purchased TV Shows not sync?

    Hi there,
i have set up my Apple TV to sync all my unseen TV Shows and some music and some photos.
After syncing actually it has synced some old videos which i have manually put into iTunes, but it will not sync my purchased "daily show" episodes, though i have 5 unseen episodes.
There is plenty of space left in the (otherwise too small) 40 GB Apple TV, but i really dont see why it wont sync the daily show.
of course i have checke "synced" etc....

Did this get resolved? I am having the same problem. 4 ATV's hooked to one Mac Pro, will not copy the purchased TV shows to the ATV hard drive. Does the number ATV's on the local network count towards authorized computers for the iTunes account?

  • New IPOD Nano will not sync.  iTunes recognizes it, I think.  It knows its there and says I can transfer purchases from it but it will not let me sync it to my existing itunes.

I received a new IPOD nano for CHristmas.  Itunes shows it there on summary, it is showing with the eject symbol.
However, when I go to file/sync, it allows me to transfer purchases but not sync it.  It also does not show up in my playlist like my older NANO does.
I have reset, I have toggled security on and off.  I am current on the software on both my IPOD and ITunes.

I was having the same problem...plugged in my new device and although I was able to set it up and it was recognized in iTunes, hit the sync button and nothing...even when it said it was syncing, still nothing. I am not sure this will work for you but I did two things that were suggested in this forum in combination with one another.
First, I plugged my Nano into different USB port on my laptop from the one I was using. when I reconnected, my devie again was displayed in the top right corner. I clicked on it and the summary page appeared. The one thing I hadn't done is go to the "music" tab. When I arrived there I found that the "sync music" tab was unchecked for some reason. I checked the block and instantly the download started.
As I said, I don't know if you have tried this or if it will even work for you but after an hour of frustration...I felt a little silly that it was something so simple I had negelected and thought I would share.
    Good  luck!

  • IPod has my only copy of my lifetime of music on it from a hard drive that crashed...how do I get that music to my new Laptop which it's not synced to?

All my old legitamately purchased music is on my iPod Touch 64GB 3rd Generation from a desktop in which the hard drive had crashed. The only copies I now have of the music are on the iPod and I want to load them from the iPod to my new Laptop (MacBook) which the iPod is not Synced to.
What do I do in this situation?
I also have much more memory left on the iPod but I can't add songs to it without erasing all of my old music from pretty much all my life...
    What can I do?
(Answers such as..."That's why you back up your hard drives or burn or transfer the music on external media..." are not a solution to this problem they are preventive measures...and why isn't the iPod considered a form of external media?)
(Apple...if your answer is what I think it will be which will yield no solution...just keep this situation in mind when you force iTunes upon us. Prove me wrong.)

  • IPod will not sync with new laptop

Alright everybody, got a tough one here I can't seem to figure out. I have a 3rd generation iPod touch. I had it synced with my now secondary desktop that has my library and everything on it. I am now trying to get my iPod switched over fully to my new primary laptop. I am running iTunes 10.5 and iOS5. The iPod will sync fine with the desktop but when I try and sync and erase with my laptop absolutely no music will transfer over. I can click the device tab on the left and look at music and they are all grayed out as if they are ghost files. Does anybody have any suggestions? For the record I have tried to restore the iPod and set it up as a new iPod on the laptop but the music files still will not sync. I can go back and plug it in to my desktop and everything syncs fine. Thanks in advance.

Is your new computer authorized with the same account? About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
Did you try to transfer purchases and back up manually before your sync?
Connecting to a new computer will erase your device during the first sync. But you can use the manual backup to restore from afterwards. Make sure to have at least onwe contact and event listed on that computer as well, syncing to an empty address book will delete contacts and calendars on the ipod.
Also check your restrictions, to make sure app installation is allowed.

that only makes it say its synced, when its not.
No, it does not.  It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer.  The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.
    fighter19lisa wrote:

Are they selected to sync?  Is Manually Manage content on the device selected?

What does that have to do with syncing content to the device?  FYI, nothing.
