New Laptop, Plugged in not charging issue

On the very first boot after purchasing, a message was shown that your battery needs to be replaced, when i set up the window the battery icon was saying "Plugged in, not charging". I have tried so many things suggested but nothing worked out... Things that i have tried to fix the issue are following:1. Battery check and calibration using hp software, did not worked2. Battery check and calibration when system boots up, did not worked because battery is 0%3. Device Manager, battery entries uninstall, did not worked4. I bought this notebook from saudi arabia, now i am in pakistan, i visited the hp official dealers here in lahore pakistan, they said we don't cover international warranty if hp requests us we can do it for you.  What should i do? someone please help

the charger input could possibly need replaced and/or the charger

  • HP Pavilion G6 Notebook (laptop) plugged in, not charging.

    Hi,
I bought an HP Pavilion G6 notebook only a couple of months ago, and I have had this problem from the beginning. I have looked at some other forums and it seems like a lot of people have had the same problem with the laptop being plugged in, but not charging.
This problem is really frustrating, as the laptop is plugged in to the power source, and into the laptop, but half the time it isn't even registered as being plugged in. The battery gets drained. Once or twice the battery has fully run out (whilst plugged in) and then been charged to 100% next time it was turned on(???!!!!).
Please tell me if this is some kind of programming or software fault, or if it could be a hardware fault. I have run the battery checker several times and each time it has not found any problems with it. As the laptop sometimes recognises that it is in fact plugged in (but doesn't charge) I personally suspect that it is not a problem with the power adapter.
    PLEASE HELP ME!
    Thanks.
    (Sorry for the long message)

Yes. Just put it back in.
You can do that while the power adapter is plugged in and the notebook is booted into Windows.

  • Hp630 laptop plugged in, not charging

my hp630 laptop eventhough it was plugged in but doesn't charge at all...

    Hi,
First of all, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter, remove the battery, and then hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.
Now, plug in the AC Adapter without the battery inserted, start the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager, expand the entry for Batteries, right click on and the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall - do not uninstall anything else here.  When the uninstall is complete, shut the notebook down, unplug the AC Adapter, re-insert the battery and then start the notebook on just the battery.  Windows will automatically reinstall the driver - leave Windows running for a few minutes. Shut down the notebook again.  Now plug in the AC Adapter ( with the battery still inserted ) and start the notebook to see if this has helped the issue at all.

  • B560 Plugged in Not Charging

I'm posting on behalf of my sister who owns a B560, Model 4330.
Her laptop is plagued with the "Plugged in Not Charging" issue. So far Lenovo support has done the following (in order):
    --Reloaded the power management application
--Asked her to return the laptop for warranty service at which time they replaced a "connector."
    --Sent a new battery
Since the problem persists, they now want her to implement the One Key Recovery, which will essentially wipe the hard drive. I've advised her not to do this only because I am not confident that it will solve the problem. The laptop is still under warranty.
Does anyone have experience with this? The One Key Recovery approach seems like awfully harsh medicine. At what point will Lenovo support simply give up and replace her laptop?
    Thanks . . .  Steve

there are some suggestions from the link below. take a look at them first, if it doesn't work, call support line for possible battery replacement.

  • My new iPad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. Any suggestions?

my new ipad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. What should I try?

Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Product No. dv6928us: Laptop is not running in Battery. Battery icon indicates, '0% available, Plugged in, not charging' even when the battery is inserted. But the laptop works fine in power mode.
Battery check indicates: "The primary battery was not detected. Check to assure the battery is properly inserted then restart the computer'.
Execution of this did not help.
Can anybody tell me whether battery life is over or loose connection in battery placement?

Try updating The BIOS and then try it again. BIOS (latest): http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-62510-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... If that fails to fix it, the battery will need replaced (if you want to) or ignored.

It talks extensively about charging in the user guide, and how USB ports on PCs and older Macs may not provide sufficient power to charge the iPad.  The user guide is available for free from the iBook store (accessed directly via the iPad iBooks app).
My iPad charges fine when plugged in to the back of my iMac, but I would always prefer to use the mains adaptor to save the strain on my USB circuits (which can wear out if used heavily to power external devices).

  • A135-S4527 Battery plugged in, not charging

There are 1000s of posts on the net but no solution is working. I'm summarizing the problem for those who are already frustrated by seeing solutions in the following order and did not work, so please do not provide any solution mentioned below 1. charger/cord/plug/outlet not working 2. battery dated non working 3. battery contacts unclean 4. restart / push power switch for 30 secs etc There are many where any of the above doesn't work as permanent solution. Sometimes it seems as working but it doesnt last for longer. Now stating the problem of mine specifically My battery was gone. I knew that when this started. The issue was, even if the AC Adapter is connected and the battery is ON and detected, it would always say x% remaining (Plugged in, not charging) - where x is < 100% . This message is so frustrating (even now I'm seeing this and I need to post before the battery gets discharged) Why would a AC Adapter not charge when it is connected and battery is charged less than 100%? Even if lets say a battery pack is not holding enough charge, it should attempt to continuously charge if the charge is less than 100% This has started when I upgraded the laptop Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 to Win 7. I've replaced the battery with a new one and only thing I can charge the battery is shut down and keep the laptop with battery connected with AC Adapter. Since last few days even the red charging LED has stopped showing up. I've found that the problem is related to "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method battery" Have perfomed all sorts of instructions as given but none works Funniest part is when this message is on and battery is not charging while AC Adapter is connected, it is still drawing power off the battery as the % goes down and it simply knocks off when battery is fully discharged, completely ignoring that the AC Adapter is connected (Yes, it is connected as you can see the icon with the pin) I'd stop here for some advise before this goes off again. Thank you so much for your attention

  • Lenovo b570e "Plugged In, Not Charging"

Recently Bought the new laptop Lenovo B570e.
Few days back, the battery icon said "Plugged In, Not Charging"
After googling with the issue I found one fix that worked, it is as follows:
    Disconnect AC
    Shutdown
    Remove battery
    Connect AC
    Startup
Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).
    Shutdown
    Disconnect AC
    Insert battery
    Connect AC
    Startup
However, today i experienced the same problem and i went for the same fix as above, but it didnt work...
Please Suggest me a permanent solution for this problem!

  • Lenovo P580 battery "plugged in, not charging" problem?

Hi, I have a Lenovo P580 that is almost 3 years old, and I recently bought a new battery from Amazon to replace the original battery that came with the laptop. However, after installing the new battery, I can't get it to charge with the AC adapter plugged in. The new battery had a 60% charge initially. I currently have the battery setting in "battery fully-charged mode." The battery indicator light is red and flashes quickly, regardless of whether the AC adapter is plugged in or not (and despite having 60% charge). In the bottom right-hand corner of the desktop taskbar, the battery is recognized as being "plugged in, not charging." Is there a way to get the battery to charge? Or should I return the battery and get a different one? I really don't think the battery is the problem, but who knows. Thanks.

    hi MlodyDziura,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you Verify that when the Computer is Plugged in and Turned on the battery icon on the lower right states that it is Plugged in not Charging.
And how many Percent it says on the status.
    Thanks

  • Toshiba Qosmio X505 plugged in, not charging message

I have a Toshiba Qosmio X505 that is almost 4 years old and have some power issues.  The battery is drained to about 6% and the battery icon in the tool bar has the plug symbol for a second then it goes away then comes back and goes away.... it keeps flashing like this.  When I move the mouse over the battery icon it says plugged in, not charging.  I have tried every solution I have found on line with no luck.  I have removed the battery and ac charger and then held the power button for 30 seconds, I have cleaned the connections, I have re-installed the battery about 10 times, I have rebooted all to no avail.
When I remove the ac adapter the power light is off and the battery light is orange.  When I remove the battery and plug in the ac adapter the power light is steady red.  As soon as I put the battery in the ac power light begins to blink on and off.  The computer does not power on with the battery removed and the ac adapter plugged in (but I'm not sure if it's supposed to). I will also add that in the last week or so when I power on I would get a black screen saying an NTFS file is bad and the machine wants to do a disk check.  The disk check never runs, even when I try to do it manually.
I have read this could be a motherboard issue, an ac adapter issue, or a battery issue.  I am hopoing a replacement battery fixes the problem.  Before buying a battery I was hoping someone had some info to share.  Thanks

I bought a battery hoping that takes care of the problem.  If that doesn't work I will try a new adapter and if that doesn't work I will probably just remove the hard drive and use it as an external on a new machine.  Seems there really isn't a whole lot of info out there about this problem other than the start button solution.

  • HP G62-b13SA Notebook - "Plugged in, not charging"

    Hi,
I have an issue with charging my HP HP G62-b13SA Notebook PC (on Windows 7 Home Premium).  I've noticed that when I plug in the adapter, the icon says 'plugged in, not charging'.
However, I notice that sometimes it will charge for between a few seconds to about a minute (when I first connect the charger) with the orange light showing before I get the 'not charging' message and the light turns blue.
I have had the laptop for nearly 3 years and recently had to purchase a replacement battery as the original had gone completely flat.
I've tried running the battery down and  charging it, but no luck and the HP support assistant said the battery is ok
    Thanks,

    Hi @Lewistrick
    Thank you for your query.
I grasp that until a few days ago your battery was working well but now it will not charge. You followed some suggestion in the forum but they did not help.
You ran the battery test and were informed you need to replace this one.  You are concerned that the test may be faulty and that you do not need to replace it.
