New layout, CSS errors and Firefox problems
Hi
Could it be that some of the Firefox problems are caused by:
1) The wrong mime type for the CSS files? Currently it appears to be:
application/x-css
shouldn't it be
text/css
2) Errors in the CSS files and inline CSS of.

There are a number of fixes still to be made, but most of them will wait until our upgrade (still a few months out).

On my MacBook Pro running OS 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.6.13, I am trying to save documents as pdfs under the print window, I get a scripting error and Firefox usually freezes/becomes nonresponsive. This happens every time I tried to perform this task.
This is a fresh install of Windows 7. It is installed on virtual environment on my mac mini using the parallels virtualization application.
I purchased the windows version of dream weaver CS 6 through an online website which I tried to install to my new windows instance. This is the academic version of the Dreamweaver application with a perpetual license that I am trying to install.
I verified my eligibility through adobe which gave me a link to download the CreateiveCloud Set-up program. I downloaded the install program in my windows environment and program and the gave the above error message. Below is a copy of my computers specs. -
Fluid grid layout css error - (adobe support sucks!)
We just bought upgrades for our entire department to dreamweaver cs6 about 2 weeks ago. Today for the first time I've been trying to make use of the new fluid grid layout system. I got some of the page put together and when I then tried to insert a new fluid layout div I got an error message saying "Could not find Dreamweaver Fluid Grid style sheet". I wasn't sure what to make of it so I googled it. I found someone with a similar, not exact, error message and someone suggested they double check their css file to see if it was missing a closing }. I double checked my css files and they were fine. I tried reinstalling dreamweaver in case a file got corrupted. No go. After reopening the file, now my fluid grid pink overlays won't display.
It's as though the stylesheet where the fluid grid styles are defined isn't being recognized, however at the same time, some styles defined in that stylesheet ARE being applied to the page, but not all of them.
I called adobe support, sat on hold forever only to be told that because we purchased a downloaded version of the upgrade, we don't get the 90 days of support but have to pay $39. Are you kidding me adobe? No support without paying after we just paid literally thousands of dollars in upgrades to our cs6 packages?
Another thing that's odd is that if I start a new fluid page and save the files in a new folder, the insert new fluid grid div works fine. I know it sounds like some stylesheet got hosed, but as I said, I have double and triple checked the css file and don't see a problem. Anyone have an idea what might be wrong? thanks.I found the problem and in fact it was a problem with the stylesheet. However, it wasn't due to any invalid styles. Apparently there are comments near the top of the stylesheet that tell dreamweaver that that's the stylesheet where the fluid grid content is stored. It would have been helpful if they included additional comments like "DON'T REMOVE THESE COMMENTS OR YOUR'RE SCREWED AND WE WON'T HELP YOU FIGURE OUT WHY!!!". Specifically the section I removed which caused it to break was this...

Underbars in CSS Files and Firefox vs. IE 7 Compatibility
Hi folks.
This may have already been covered somewhere, but I've spent the last two days trying to solve this problem and didn't see anything referring to it. So, in order to save anyone else the hassle, I'll describe the problem and its fix.
I just started using Apex 3.1.1 yesterday, and I wanted to see how hard it would be to link a CSS file to a site.
I read http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/appdev.300/b32471/ui.htm#BABHJCJI but that still didn't help me. Nothing I tried would make Firefox see the linked stylesheet even though IE 7 was having no trouble at all. That was ironic since I discovered people having problems with IE 7 not showing styles as opposed to Firefox having no problems.
When I put the style code directly into the header of the page, it would work in both Firefox 2 and IE 7, but when I tried to link the CSS file, only IE 7 would show the altered styles. I was about to give up, when it suddenly occured to me that when I chose "Icons" for the "View" option inside the Cascading Style Sheets Repository Page instead of "Details" that the underbar or underline in my file name would not render correctly. Instead of showing up as "cfdb_styles.css" it was showing up as "cfdb styles.css" in both IE 7 and Firefox.
So, after I changed the file name to "cfdbstyles.css", everything suddenly worked in both browsers! I suppose this could be logged as another one of those improbable Apex bugs.
The moral of the story: don't use the "_" (underbar/line) in your CSS file names.
And once again, I apologize if this is common knowledge. I certainly hadn't found it anywhere I looked online.
Thanks for your time, and I hope that helps someone out there struggling as I did,
AntonAnton,
I don't think you are right. Have a look at the themes directory. There you will see that all
the css files are named like
theme_V3.css
and those contain an underline. If you look at the page template, you will see there how
those files are referenced. So, this is definitelly not an apex bug.

Hi spidey23, the original problem in this thread is that the QuickTime 7.6.6 plugin is marked as vulnerable and needing an update, but none is available for MacOS X 10.6.
It sounds as though you might be having a different problem, which is you are not getting any sound accompanying your videos -- is that the problem? If so, you might want to start a new thread which focuses on that issue and mention in the subject line (the question) that it's on the Mac. You can do that here:

Regarding Workflow Error and Notification problem
Hi,
I am working on Workflow. I imported data <b>first time</b> in Data Manager and created <b>new</b> workflow. Now while "Launching" this workflow it is showing error "<b>The record is currently used in workflow</b>".
I was using this repository for other data with different workflow but i deleted all previous data and workflow. Why it is showing this error? When i have new set of data with new workflow than i think i should not show this error.
Other Question is regarding <b>Notification</b>:
To notify the person we have to make following changes :
1) Have to use Notify stencil and have to give e mail ids in User detail
2) In my server ini file i have to give my mail server name.
After making this changes I am not getting any mails. Please guide me for the same.
Please guide me how to rectify this error and what are the prerequisites?
Thanks in advance,
RonakHi Ronak,
Couple of issues with emailing:
1. You need to restart your repository after updating .ini file to effect the changes.
2. Your SMTP server should relay mails without SMTP authentication.
3. You can also send emails to outside domains such as yahoo or others if your SMTP server permits.
Check with your mail server administrator and perform a simple SMTP telnet test to make sure your SMTP server is not an issue.
Hope this helps

Toast Titanium/CSS error/DVD upload problems
Does anyone have tips for me regarding Toast Titanium? I'm unable to upload any DVDs into it to burn to my hard drive. I get the same CSS error every time. A PC-using friend suggested I find the hidden files in my hard drive and erase them to clear up the error, but I have no idea where to start.
Any help is appreciated. As Len said, Toast will not decrypt and copy a commercial, copy protected video DVD. The only legal (at least unless the movie studios take them to court) way to copy a copy-protected video DVD to your hard drive is with Flip4Mac's Drive-In.

Empty your browser caches more often.
Deleting cookies may help also. Go to ~/Library/Cookies. Move the Cookies.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
If emptying the cache nor deleting cookies helped, try Safari in another user account.
If you have the same problems there log back into your admin account.
Launch Disk Utility. That's located in /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks -

Flash, CSS, and Firefox problem
Hello.
I have an html document that is built using CSS (div tags,
etc). This CSS calls out to swfs (defined by DIVs) to build the
page.
The layout is very simple, starting with a top navigation bar
swf. There are buttons in this navigation bar that, when rollover,
cause a graphic to unmask and pull down. The graphic is rather
large and forces the top nav bar height to 800. Naturally, this
will eclipse other elements on the page when the graphic crashes
down.
By using a combination of "wmode=transparent" and z-indexing
in the Flash code, I can get the crashdown graphic to appear above
the other elements in the html.
However, and here is the issue, in Firefox the sheer,
necessary height of the top nav bar prevents clicking on any other
buttons in the elements that appear below the top nav bar. It's as
if there is an alpha mask over everything which prevents RollOvers
and general mouse clicking action. Oddly, it works perfectly in
I.E.
Any insight would be vastly appreciated. I've researched what
I could of this topic, but nothing I can find replicates my exact
issue. Thank you.

iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3299 -
Hello:
I wanted to repost my question to re-frame the issue based on what I have learned thus far.
I am working on a website that has been developed using the Spry Menu Bar Framework UI (2.0) I.0, that has some peculiar rendering problems that affect IE 6 in particular. The CSS is reprinted below.
In particular, when I post the widget generated CSS in the head as it is orginally situated by the framework, the menu bar works fine. However, it seemed to me that I should be able to reduce page weight (an important consideration considering my target population) by placing it in the general style sheet governing the entire site.
When I place the styles at the beginning of the style sheet the menu doesn't render at all in any of the browsers (IE 6+, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Netscape, etc.) as it conflicts with the general rules governing links that appear later in the style sheet. When I place the styles specific to the Menu bar at the end of the style sheet, then the menu bar renders properly in all browsers except IE 6.
The odd thing is that the only way to ensure that the menu bar works in IE 6 is to keep the menu related styles in the head of each page. This raises problems related to page weight (not an insurmountable consideration if no other solution can be found) but still an issue. Likewise I need to support IE 6, again given the target audience/population. The issue obviously has something to do with specificity, but I am not certain that is the only consideration at work here. I have not tried the !important selector in regard to the menu, as IE 6 seems to only partially support this.
Thanks in advance for any advice or insight that can be provided. Thanks in particular to Martin for his contributions to my earlier question related to this issue.
Steve Webster.
The CSS governing the horizontal menu bar is as follows: (currently the following CSS is embedded in the head of the web page)
<style type="text/css">
/* -- Begins Spry Menu Widget 2.0 (1.0) Horizontal menu bar Custom styles -- */
/* BeginOAWidget_Instance_2141544: #MenuBar */
/* Settable values for skinning a Basic menu via presets. If presets are not sufficient, most skinning should be done in
these rules, with the exception of the images used for down or rightpointing arrows, which are in the file SpryMenuBasic.css
These assume the following widget classes for menu layout (set in a preset)
.MenuBar - Applies to all menubars - default is horizontal bar, allsubmenus are vertical - 2nd level subs and beyond are pull-right.
.MenuBarVertical - vertical main bar; all submenus are pull-right.
You can also pass in extra classnames to set your desired top levelmenu bar layout. Normally, these are set by using a preset.
They only apply to horizontal menu bars:
MenuBarLeftShrink - The menu bar will be horizontally 'shrinkwrapped' to be just large enough to hold its items, and left aligned
MenuBarRightShrink - Just like MenuBarLeftShrink, but right aligned
MenuBarFixedLeft - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedLeft', and left aligned.
MenuBarFixedCentered - - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedCentered',
and centered in its parent container.
MenuBarFullwidth - Grows to fill its parent container width.
In general, all rules specified in this file are prefixed by #MenuBar so they only apply to instances of the widget inserted along
with the rules. This permits use of multiple MenuBarBasic widgets onthe same page with different layouts. Because of IE6 limitations,
there are a few rules where this was not possible. Those rules are so noted in comments.

/* IE6 rules - you can delete these if you do not want to support IE6 */
/* A note about multiple classes in IE6.
* Some of the rules above use multiple class names on an element forselection, such as "hover" (MenuItemHover) and "has a subMenu"(MenuItemWithSubMenu),
* giving the selector '.MenuItemWithSubMenu.MenuItemHover'.
* Unfortunately IE6 does not support using mutiple classnames in aselector for an element. For a selector such as '.foo.bar.baz', IE6ignores
* all but the final classname (here, '.baz'), and sets thespecificity accordingly, counting just one of those classs assignificant. To get around this
* problem, we use the plugin in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js to generate compound classnames for IE6, such as 'MenuItemWithSubMenuHover'.
* Since there are a lotof these needed, the plugin does not generate the extra classes formodern browsers, and we use the CSS2 style mutltiple class
* syntax for that. Since IE6 both applies rules where
* it should not, and gets the specificity wrong too, we have to order rules carefully, so the rule misapplied in IE6 can be overridden.
* So, we put the multiple class rule first. IE6 will mistakenly apply this rule. We follow this with the single-class rule that it would
* mistakenly override, making sure the misinterpreted IE6 specificity is the same as the single-class selector, so the latter wins.
* We then create a copy of the multiple class rule, adding a '.SpryIsIE6' class as context, and making sure the specificity for
* the selector is high enough to beat the single-class rule in the "both classes match" case. We place the IE6 rule at the end of the
* css style block to make it easy to delete if you want to drop IE6 support.
* If you decide you do not need IE6 support, you can get rid of these,as well as the inclusion of the SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.jsscript.
* The 'SpryIsIE6' class is placed on the HTML element by the script in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js if the browser isInternet Explorer 6. This avoids the necessity of IE conditionalcomments for these rules.

color: #0303A0;Hi Nancy:
The specific code that I am referring to is the CSS code governing the styling of the spry menu widget that only works in IE 6 if, and only if, it remains in the head of the web page. If removed and placed in a stylesheet, the IE plugins fail to compensate for the IE 6 "gap" bug. As I said, it doesn't make sense to me that, assuming specificity is addressed, that these can not be included in an external style sheet. I am looking for a) an explanation why they must remain embedded in the web page; and 2) any means by which I might be able to export them.
I will reproduce the specific css style (code) below: it should also be visable through reveal source --
Thanks again, Steve Webster.
The CSS governing the horizontal menu bar is as follows: (currently the following CSS is embedded in the head of the web page)
<style type="text/css">
/* -- Begins Spry Menu Widget 2.0 (1.0) Horizontal menu bar Custom styles -- */
/* BeginOAWidget_Instance_2141544: #MenuBar */

* Some of the rules above use multiple class names on an element forselection, such as "hover" (MenuItemHover) and "has a subMenu"(MenuItemWithSubMenu),
* giving the selector '.MenuItemWithSubMenu.MenuItemHover'.

New Installation : Login Delays and Wifi Problems
Hey There,
I just a HP Pavilion DV2850ET laptop computer and decided to run Arch on it. But I have 2 major problems as for now. I'll be very pleased if I get over them.
1) When the kernel starts loading with vga=792 parameter on, 2 Arch Linux logo shows up instead of 1.. I don't think that this is normal.
2) I've installed all packages with the newest ISO image release: Archlinux-i686-2007.08-2.core.iso - It's installed without any problems. When the login prompt appears (that I'm going to write root to do the rest of the installation for a while) I can't write anything for about 10-15 seconds. After the 10-15 seconds of waiting, I can write whatever I want.. But this happens all the time and I have to wait everytime I open the computer. I thought that maybe this could be something related with the kernel installed so I upgraded to testing. But nothing changed. This is the most annoying part actually..
3) I have 07:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02) on the laptop. There are several modules for this card as far as I can see like: ipw3945, ipl3945, etc.. During the installation, I let hwdetect to fill modules part in rc.conf and it added these modules: sky2 iwl3945 snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-hwdep snd-page-alloc snd-pcm snd-timer snd snd-hda-intel soundcore - What are all these sound modules any way ? Are they really necessary ?
Here are lspci and dmesg outputs. I hope they help..

Adobe Application Manager Download Error (and other problems)
Last week I purchased a Creative Cloud membership (Student and Teacher Edition, if that matters at all). When I tried to download applications, the Adobe Application Manager seemed to be unable to connect and instead displayed "Download Error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support." I read some of the responses to this problem on the forums, and after trying several things, I got it to work (I'm honestly not sure what I did that caused it to work). However, it is now failing to work again and I can't seem to fix it this time. As an additional problem, When I tried to open Adobe Premiere Pro (which I managed to download when I got the App Manager working for a while), I got the opening screen that asked me to open a project or start a new project. No matter what I clicked on, Premiere Pro closed with an error message. Just as with the App Manager (and at the same time), I managed to get Premiere Pro to work (it seemed to work after I set permissions so I thought I solved it), so I was able to use it for a day. However, now the problem has returned.
I don't know if these two problems are related, but they started working at the same time and stopped working at the same time, so I'm posting them together in case there is a connection. I am running Windows Vista on my home computer. I can sign on to the creative cloud online without problem so it recognizes me as a creative cloud subscriber. My Internet connection is working fine. I have disabled all firewalls and it still doesn't work. Very frustrating, obviously.
Thanks for your time and any help or suggestions you can give.
- KPKardypaine for your Internet configuration difficulties I would recommend reviewing Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.
For the failure of Premiere Pro to open you will want to review the install log to see if you received an installation error. You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html. -
Under Windows 7 Firefox looks quite different including the default blue for input to question boxes which are white on the xp machines. Normally this is not a problem. But on the Google web page the blue is so bold that nothing can be seen except for a very small portion of the characters (in red) extending below the input screen. This becomes miserable if you try to edit a search stmt or backspace to correct a spelling error. you are quickly lost and need to clear the cache and reload the page.
This problem does not appear using Chrome or IE on the same machine. Nor is it a problem using Firefox 9.0.1 on two other home PC's running XP (there no input box obscures the answer). This seems to be a lot of work. That can be caused by the "Keystroke protection" in Comcast Constant Guard.<br />
