New line options in messages

Prior to updateing to the most recent version of Skype, I used to be able to type messages with line breaks in them.
Like this...
without Skype sending the message. Now every line is sent as a new message - infuriating.
There was an option to select/deselect this behaviour and I can't find it in the new version.
Can someone enlighten me.
Thanks.

Nope. Micro$oft wants the extra IM charges when you hit enter by mistake. Be glad they do not send off the message when you type a period.
Try to remember to use ctrl-enter. And do not hit enter when you mean to type a single-quote.

  • Read new line of returned message

    Hi,
    I am new to labview and I am trying to get the return message from an instrument which is three lines long, but only one line gets displayed. How can I read past the carriage return?
    Thanks.
    Angelia

    Check the Termination char setting for comport
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvinstio/visa_configure_serial_port/
    termination char calls for termination of the read operation. The read operation terminates when the termination char is read from the serial device. 0xA is the hex equivalent of a linefeed character (\n). Change the termination char to 0xD for message strings that terminate with a carriage return (\r).
    Or just read it 3 time one line at a time to get all the data. Set the number of bytes to read to something larger than you will ever get back on each line.

  • Adding a New Line in the Planning Workbook

    Hi,
    Consider this :
    I have Charateristics and Kpis
    CH1        CH2           CH3                   KPI
    A000      A010          A011                  100
    A000      A010          A012                  100
    A000      A010          A013                  100
    A100      A110          A111                  100
    A100      A110          A112                   100
    Now, I wish to add a new line, because I have a new master data A014
    A000    A010           A014
    My query has filter like this
    1. CH1 is assigned a Variable
    2. CH2 is given a value range from 1 to ZZZZZZZ ( because, I know, I can never have anything outside )
    3. CH3 is given a value range from 1 to ZZZZZZZ
    CH3, CH2, CH1 have characteristic relationships maintained with derivation.
    Now, I want to be able to maintain this new line as shown above for the new master data and plan on it. But I do not see any new line option.
    I am using Bex and Integrated Planning with Support pack 7.
    Maybe I am doing something wrong. Could you tell what are the pre-requisites to be able to this new line option ?
    Best wishes,
    Dheeraj

    hello Dheeraj,
    just try to input the values in the row under the last row of the layout.
    If you then save the data, IP will save this values too.
    With other words, IP saves all data in the layout till it meets the empty row ...
    The only thing you should do is to format the rows at the bottom of the layout (via VBA) in order to display them as input ready cells.

  • af:validateLongRange displaying message: How to insert 'new line' ?

    Hello,
    While using <af:validateLongRange> tag we need to display message in a well formatted way, we have to display each statement in a new line.For eg. : message as displayed by property 'messageDetailNotInRange' must come in three different new lines not as a continuous statement.I tried inserting '\n' escape sequence for new line, but it dint work.I tried spacing the statements but that also is not working out.
    Any idea how can we get this message displayed separately in three rows rather than in a continuous statement ?
    ++messageDetailNotInRange="You have entered a value more than is available. Value entered must be in the range of {2} to {3}.To delete this line, clear the value and click Delete"++
    +<af:validateLongRange id="xyz_VC1" minimum="1"+
    maximum="100"
    messageDetailNotInRange="You have entered a value more than is available. Value entered must be in the range of {2} to {3}.To delete this line, clear the value and click Delete"
    messageDetailMinimum="Minimum {0} allowed is {2}"
    messageDetailMaximum="Maximum {0} allowed is {2}"
    hintNotInRange="#{'xyz'}"/>

    Thx..Done that!! but dint get the desired result ,I put it as :-
    messageDetailNotInRange="You have entered a value more than is available.&lt;br&gt; Quantity entered must be in the range of {2} to {3}.&lt;br&gt; To delete this order line, clear the quantity and click DELETE."
    On corresponding page this message was displayed as :
    You have entered a value more than is available.<br> Quantity entered must be in the range of 1 to 100.<br> To delete this order line, clear the quantity and click DELETE.
    It dint insert line breaks in the message.Do i need to write it differently?
    Above html code is modified once i posted it, it has inserted line breaks here for the br tag i added , but in my actual .jsff page it did not . I can only see br tag displayed as part of message and no new line got inserted.
    I dont see an option to attach a file with the post so that I can show the code to you.

  • A new line is showing up on messages I receive. It's seems to be a row of links, including a URL to (maybe) the msg source. How do I get rid of it?

    On my incoming messages, under my toolbars & above the msg header, is a new line. It sort-of looks like another toolbar, but different. It reads from left to right and each word is highlighted white:
    Back Forward Refresh URL: ___________________ Go
    Each of these words except for "URL:" are in boxes as if they are links but they don't work like links.
    What is this and how do I get it off my incoming messages?
    Thanks, nanciewanda

    I have no idea. Perhaps you could post the troubleshooting information so we can have a better look at what is going on.
    Click the Help menu (Alt+H) and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the menu.
    Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    *At the top of the page, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
    *Now, go back to your forum post and click inside the reply box. Press Ctrl+V to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

  • How to add new line in message on my S890

    My stock keyboard in Lenovo S890 doesn't have enter key, is this normal ? How to add new line ?
    However this happened only in messages, while using whatsapp the enter key present.

    Hi,
    the fact that your question is posted in Order Management section, does the move order automatically generated by OM?
    nevertheless, i don't think you should (or allowed, in this case) to add a new line in transact move order. Transact move order only queries (not create records) the move order lines eligible to allocate and transact.
    So, I don't see why you need to add a new line in transact move order.
    You can, however, add a new line in the allocation of the lines, where for instance, you need to have half of the line allocated to one locator, and the other half to another locator
    Thanks

  • New-line character in stacked message pop-up

    I have run into a brick wall with this situation--
    Our clients are running Client/Server Forms 6i, and Web Forms 6i using Patch 10. They are about to upgrade web forms to the latest version 9.0.4.1.0 (10g).
    We have a few PLL routines that use the stacked message method:    Message('text here'); Message('  ',no_acknowledge);to display important error messages to the user. It is especially useful to display the multiple ORA- errors when an unexpected server error occurs.
    Throughout all versions of Client/Server forms, and even in our old version of Web forms, I can use chr(10) or another character to start each error message on a new line.
    Somewhere after Patch 10, Oracle has removed that capability. Instead, pop-up stacked messages word-wrap into a multi-line message, and display the new-line character as a box indicating an unprintable character. Our nicely formatted messages are a mess!
    I have been told I should use an alert, which supports chr(10) as the new line. However, this is a PLL routine, and I would have to create an alert in hundreds of forms just to accommodate this short-sightedness. The changes and subsequent testing and release issues make this an unworkable solution.
    I am clueless as to why this feature would be removed. Oracle support is treating it as an enhancement request. Any ideas?

    Steve,
    If you really have hundreeds of forms ... create one more - to display your messages. Make it modal and nice looking. Call it through the library. Design it to work both as [OK] message and as an users responce [Yes]/[No]/[Cancel].
    And honestly - I don't think message(); message() is the best way to display messages. Whoever designed the application should've think about alerts with standartized naming convention, so they can be handled easily through the PLL.

  • EA1 - new line in title on error message

    My database connection is oracle 10.2.
    Into a workbook type "select" and press F9 to run the script
    The title of the error message is ORA-00936: missing expression
    However, at the end there is a new line character.
    This displays under window 2000 as a square box, and under windows XP it puts the text off centre vertically in the caption.
    This seems to happen for any error code.

    Yes it does and I hope they can fix it as part of 1.5, but it has been there for ages.

  • Subject line "another option" prevents message from sending

    I recently attempted to send a message (in Mail version 3.5) with the subject line "another option", and the message did not send, went to the outbox, and opened again. I assumed my connection was down, but then I tried again with a different subject line and it worked.
    A bit of fiddling demonstrated that all of the following work: ".another option", "another optionasjkdflajdlfk", "another option askfljd", "another option" (2 spaces). In short, it seems that only this specific subject line causes the message to not send.
    This is obviously not a big problem; I ended up simply using a different subject. But I am curious to find out why this is the case.

    The header is being "folded" as described in RFC 2822 section 2.2.3.
    The folding doesn't lose the space if unfolding is done properly.
    Perhaps the recipient mail program isn't handling unfolding properly?
    If so, please report the bug to the owner of that program.
    If you need to work around such a buggy program, you can set the
    System property "mail.mime.foldtext" to "false" to disable all folding
    in JavaMail.

  • Long Message - how to preserve new line entry

    My TIP message is defined in Oracle Applications. It contain few sentences and each one starts on the new line. I would like to preserve this formatting while using it as a Long Tip or even a text on the page. It looks like the new line characters are ignored and the message displays as one line. I tried <br> and /n but none of the above works.
    Is it possible? Does anyone has an idea how to do it?
    Tomas

    As far I remember, there is a work around,Just try it and update the thread. I remember doing this long time back. Actually in html &nbsp stands for 1 blank space.
    As you want the second line to start with new line put as many &nbsp, that formatting automatically puts the furthur message in second line.
    Try this, i hope this should work.

  • RE: PRESSING ENTER KEY TO MOVE TO A NEW LINE INSTEAD OF SENDING TEXT MESSAGE ON Q5

    I'd rather use the enter key to move to a new line than to send message. I previously used this on curve 9300 and I'm frustrated right now I'm unable to figure how to move to the next line on this Q5. I thought the Q5 will be an improvement on the curve. I'll will be disappointed if there is no way about this. Can somebody help please?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi curio
    From Blackberry Hub, tap three dots at bottom right > Setting > Text Messages > Use enter key to send > OFF. It will make a new line if you press enter key.

  • New line in concat function in message mapping

    Did any1 succeded adding 2 xml elemnts with LF/CR ( new line ) between them?
    so when I use content conversion to txt file it will put new line between this 2 elements?
    I tried the following delimiters
    '0x0D''0x0A'
    'nl'
    ''0x0D''''0x0A''
    nothing worked
    thx
    Shai

    Shai,
    Here is a simple udf for adding a new line between two fields. Similarly you can extend it.
    Create a "Value" UDF as name "input" and add two arguments 'a' and 'b'.
    Add this code:
    String lines;
    lines = "";
    lines = lines.concat(a + '\n' + b + '\n' );
    return lines;
    Also while testing in test tab if you dont see the new line in the ouptut then view the source of the output. There you can see the new line.

  • DW BUG - empty new lines on file open

    I can't find a patch or an option for this bug. Everytime I
    open a formated php script(with no empty spaces between code lines)
    it gets a new formatting with 2-3-5 empty new lines betwen my code
    lines, this causes that my scripts will become larger in size just
    because it has almost 70% empty new lines added by DW CS3, 9
    etc..

    What is your local OS? What is your host OS? What is your
    setting for Line
    break type in PREFERENCES | Code Format?
