New Mac Mini. Can not boot for the first time.

Hello Mac to all the mini community. I recently buy a mac mini and it is not able to boot for the first time.
The only progress is the apple logo, the grey screen and the loading circle.
I was able to boot in safe mode by holding the power button and plug the power cord and i saw the following message:
'Unable to find driver for this platform: \ACPS\.\n'0/sourcecache/.....
debugger called <panic>
can't perform kext scan: no kext summary
OSD process name correspondling to current threat: unknown
MAC OS Version:
Not yet set
Kernel Version:
Orvin Kernetl Version 11.0.1....
So can you please provide any feedback on how to reslove the issue?

A new Mac should already have OS X installed on it and boot right up .....?

You should be able to open the box, plug in the power cord, your Display, Keyboard and Mouse, push the power button and start using it.
If not, then you need to return it or exchange it for one that works properly.

Booting for the first time in my Lenovo G500

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to boot for the first time in my Lenovo G500. It starts with the logo of lenovo and then it goes to a black screen and it is saying that is loading FreeDOS and is asking to enter a new date, new time and then it says C:/> and nothing happens.
I put in the cd with Windows 8 drivers but i can't make it boot from the cd/dvd.
Anyone can help?

I’m sorry to hear that your G500 Laptop is booting to Black screen, I suggest you to change the Boot priority of CD/DVD drive 1st and HDD (Hard Disc Drive) to 2nd, below are the steps to access BIOS:
Turn OFF the computer and then click on NOVO button which is located at the left side of the computer.
Then under Boot tab change the CD/DVD as 1st boot and HDD to 2nd device.
Now press “F10” Key to save the changes, the computer will automatically restart.
Then check inserting the Disc and check the issue.
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

JComboBox - Bottom border is not visible for the first time

JComboBox - Bottom border is not visible for the first time i click on the arrow to drop the list down.
This happens because the list when dropped down goes out of the frame.
If have the increased the size of the Frame then i am able to see it,but i dont want to do this.
I am using jdk1.3.1_02.
Any Help would be great.

I must be a little confused regarding your question.
You can simply change your code frame.setSize(200, 200); to frame.setSize(400, 400);When you say you are unable to see the border are you specifically talking about the border of the frame or the border of the combo box?

Page does not load for the first time

Hi,
When I enter the URL to load the page, it does not work, i.e I get page not found message. But when I refresh(F5) the page gets loaded. This is just not for the login page but all my report and form pages and this happens only for the first time I try to access in the day. I couldnt understand why it happens? Can someone help me to understand the problem I am facing?

How do you recover a pages document when pages crashes before you can save it for the first time

Pages crashed unexpectedly before I had a chance to save it for the first time. How can I recover that document? It must be out there somewhere!!

Please go this location on your computer:
Click on Go on the top- Go to folder- Type ~/library then go to application folder- rename the adobe folder to old adobe
go back to ~/library then go to preferences and rename the adobe folder to old adobe
go to documents and rename the adobe folder to old adobe.
After doing this you will loosed your synced settings and customized keyboard short cuts and effects if any.

Just got the 5G Touch. I turned it on and was using the camera and stuff before I charged it for the first time. Then while charging, I listened to the music I was syncing through the speakers. This okay? I remember reading to always charge full before ever doing anything on them. Doesnt say anything in the startup manual though.

Brand new Mac Mini will not boot after 10.6.6 Update

The 1st restart was fine then it restarted for the 2nd time & it got to the gray screen with Apple logo & spinner. It sat there much longer than it ever had before then the Apple changed to a circle with a slash.
I tried booting into single user mode and it is hanging "waiting for root device"

Sounds like maybe your disk died.
I suggest that you boot from the install DVD that came with your Mac and run AHT to check it out.

Buttons are not displayed for the first time when drawImage method is used

In my swing window 2 buttons are there and when clicking these buttons, it should display an image . The two buttons are displayed at the first time and I can click on it . While clicking a button , the corresponding image is also got displayed. [ I am using drawImage() function for it] But what the problem is, then the two buttons are not displayed and it will be displayed again when the mouse moves along the position of these two buttons. And this problem occurs only at the first time..When they are on the window on a second time, they won't vanish when the image is displayed when clicking it. Is this the problem with paint() method?. I am using start() method also.

This is not my exact program, that has a large no: of code. So I am putting here a sample one. One thing I would like to point out is that , I can see the buttons at the time of loading the applet and suddenly it vanishes and the image is drawn. Then if I move the mouse along the position of these buttons , they got displayed.

Not able to activate ipad mini retina(wifi+cellular) for the first time

i just bought a new ipad mini with retina display (wifi+cellular) and when trying to activate it,its showing this error that cannot connect to servers please try again....i'm not able to use my ipad..:(....and help/suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again

Setting up a Mac OS 10.6 Server for the first time

I'm new to servers, and I would like to set up a Mac Mini Server for my network. There would be 3 Windows clients running Vista Home Premium and 2 Mac OS 10.5 clients. I want to be able to log-in on any computer to an account from the server. Then I would like to have the server storing all of the files from all of the accounts. Also, I would like to be able to access these files from over the internet (I have a static IP address on my router). Also, I would like to host a website (I have a domain name through GoDaddy). How do I do all of those things? Also, do I need to upgrade to Windows Professional (Either Windows 7 or Vista)?
I'm really new to this, so please explain this in great detail. Thank you.

For file sharing, on the Mini, you just need to go to System Preferences -> Sharing and enable file sharing. You'll also want to create whatever accounts on the Mini that you want people to be able to log in with, that'll be in System Preferences -> Accounts.
I don't have a lot of experience with Windows and Snow Leopard (much less Mac OS X Server), but at my wife's small business, they have a Mini running Tiger, and none of the Vista machines were able to connect to it. After some digging, I discovered Microsoft had disabled something critical to connecting to Macs in this way, and with Home Premium, you can't access that setting without some arcane hackery. Here's how you do it, if it turns out to still be needed:
To set a Vista computer to access a Mac server:
Go to the Start menu and go to All Programs -> Accessories -> Run
Type "Regedit.exe" and press return
Go to HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
Select Lsa, then choose Edit -> New -> Key
Type "DWORD" (without quotes) as the name in the list
Double-click the text "(Default)" in the right-hand pane
Enter "1" (without quotes) as the value and press OK
Quit Regedit and restart the machine
Log in to the remote Mac using "ip_address\username" as the user name
As to hosting your own web server... I wouldn't advise that, unless it's purely for internal use and not something aimed at potential customers. You don't want the hassle of being on-call 24-7 to restart the server if something goes wrong, and what will you do if the hard drive dies and has to be replaced? Let someone else deal with those issues. (Of course, GoDaddy isn't known for their reliability... if ensuring the server is up and running 99.9% of the time, you will probably want to go with a more respected company, like [pair Networks|http://promote.pair.com/direct.pl?reedcorner.net+134126].*)

I Chat will not start for the first time on my Macbook Pro after Migration

Hi hope someone can help as this problem has stumped me. I cannot get ICHAT to even start having migrated all applications via Migration Assistant from a Macbook to a Macbook Pro. Everything else seems to work fine except when I run ICHAT and follow setup I get to a final screen which locks without showing a DONE button to complete the setup process! I have reloaded OS X, downloaded the OS X Combo OSand tried that, deleted the app and started again just in case but to no avail. Can anyone help? The application worked fine on the old Macbook but not on this machine.

I have trouble to find my photo after I sync my ipad mini with my laptop for the first time. I assume it is stored in iCloud, how to view it?

After I sync my ipad mini with my laptop pc for the very first time. all the photos I had in my iPad mini has gone. I assume it was stored in iCloud. As suggested i should download iCloud Control Pannel to my pc to which I did. After I click "manage storage", it shows I have used up 621.70MB of my total storage 5GB. I tried to click on the BACKUP icon, it displayed (incomplete) next to my ipad. What does it mean by incomplete? Where can I access my photo from icloud? Thank you and looking forward to your reply.

But my iclod account says I have 621.7 MB backed up. What are they? How to access this backed up file? What does I meant by INCOMPLETE. Does it mean that the file ha been corrupted during the process? Or ICloud is not compatible to my laptop?
