I have a new wireless printer. Where is the print button on my iPad?

    1. Buy a AirPrint enabled printer; see list below
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
    2. Run the CD provided and setup as network printer; this will setup your printer to the same network as your iPad

    3. Start printing from your iPad without wire

  • How do I pair a new Mac mini (out of the box) to a Logitech keyboard

How do I pair a new Mac mini (out of the box) to a Logitech keyboard.
According to the help desk it is not possible you need an Apple keyboard to complete the task this does not seem right as it states on the Apple website that the products can be mixed and matched.
    Help?????.

    SYSTEM PREFERENCES>Blutooth
Add New device by clicking "+"
    Turn keyboard into discoverable mode
If it shows up add it, if not you may need drivers from logitec
I have sucsessfully paired non aple keyboards before

  • Specs of new Mac Mini worse than the old Mac Mini?

I just looked at the new Mac Mini, released today I think, but it seems that you can no longer select SSDs, and the highest-spec Mac Mini had TWO SSDs available - not available anymore!
Also, I waited for this update with the hope that MORE RAM would be available - I really want a 32GB machine to run as a slave, and I need LOTS of RAM for this machine, but there's no option for that without buying the Trash Can Mac Pro, which has all sorts of features that I DON'T need.
What is the go with Mac Mini specs going BACKWARDS?
Also, any advice would be great. I'm considering having a PC made for my slave computer, but I'd rather not do that, PCs suck. lol.
    Thanks!

The new Mac mini does support 'flash' storage aka SSD storage. The difference is that the Apple listed options for the new Mac mini for flash aka. SSD storage now use the PCIe interface and not the old SATA interface. PCIe is much faster than SATA.
The new Mac mini does support a 'Fusion' drive, this is Apple's 'hybrid' drive approach which combines a traditional hard disk with a 128GB of Flash storage. Since the new Mac mini does support a Fusion drive and a Fusion drive includes a traditional hard disk we can safely deduce that the new Mac mini does have at least one traditional SATA drive bay.
What is not yet clear is how many PCIe flash storage connectors it has and how many SATA connectors it has. It could be for example that the 1TB flash storage choice is actually made up from 2 x 512GB, however since the new Mac Pro also lists the same PCIe flash storage choices of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB and the new Mac Pro only has a single PCIe SSD connector it is highly likely the new Mac mini also only has a single PCIe connector.
While it would be nice if it still had the option of two SATA drives and also a single PCIe flash drive, I think it is more likely that there is only one SATA connector. This makes internal RAID1 less practical, not only would it now be very hard to get two matching capacity 'drives' but even if you did they would be at vastly different speeds. One can still use external RAID storage.

  • New Mac Pro -- Where's the 2nd HDD?

I started up my new Mac Pro today (actually a refurb from the Apple Store) and ran Migration Assistant. Pretty impressive how the new Pro is working almost exactly like the Mini I had previously.
I inserted a 750GB HDD in one of the drive bays alongside the 250GB that came with the Pro, but I don't think it's showing up.
In Finder, under "Devices," I'm seeing "Macintosh HD" - twice. The two drives are identical, what I guess you would expect to find on the primary drive. On the desktop, there is just the one Macintosh HD, no duplicate.
I don't see an empty 750GB HDD anywhere? Will it not even show up until I've run disk utility on it and formatted it?
Lots of questions... that's for starters....
    Thanks,
    --PS

Erase doesn't alter the partition tables, only the user space or partition you see. To format or initialize, and to insure it has proper setup, use Partition, and insure that it has GUID, which has replaced the older and outdated APL format.
You can see what format it has if you click on the drive icon and look at the bottom.
Journaling helps the system keep the directory and file system and gives a way to 'replay' recent modifications on a Safe Boot. Journaling has been the default since...? and been an option at least back in Panther.
If there are no user volumes or partitions, then there should have been an alert message on startups.

  • Will the new mac mini work with the older Flat panel iMac globe speakers?

I am thinking it might be time to upgrade my 800mhz FP 17", and since i have an extra 22" monitor laying around being unused, i thought the Mac mini would be a drop in replacement...but then i thought about the imac FP speakers and i would like to keep using them...is anyone using these speakers with the mac mini?

The Apple 'Pro speakers' that were designed by Apple and Harman Kardon, use a proprietary 2.5mm mini jack connector and they would need an adapter to work.
Years ago there was a product called the 'iFire' that allowed those speakers to be used with other macs with a firewire port ..... Here's a site that I found that has more information than you'll need to know about the speakers and the adapter: http://maczealots.com/reviews/ifire/
At the time, the pro speakers technology was pretty cool ... combining power and digital audio into the one cable. I still think they look striking....
I did a bit of snooping around and couldn't find the adapter for sale (aside from a used one on Amazon for $199 ouch) .... I believe it has been discontinued.
I think you'll have to follow another route.....

  • Just got a new Mac Mini with Lion - where is the downloads folder in the Window tab that is at the top of the page in Safari?  I used this a lot and really miss it!

I just got a new Mac Mini with Lion - the Window tab at the top of the Safari Browser used to ahve a downloads folder in it along with Activity etc - but it is not there anymore. Any way to get it back or is there another location it sits in?  I used it when I'd copy video info from the activity folder and then paste into the download folder and presto - I downloaded the video onto my computer.  I really miss this capability!

  • I have a new Mac mini and are using an Acer monitor. Unfortunately, the Acer will not show any image on a startup from cold. It does however work completely correctly when restarting from 'sleep' condition. Can anyone help? Thanks in anticipation.

I have a new Mac mini- changed from Windows XP. I have a peculiar problem. I use an Acer monitorwith the Mac which works fine when the Mac is 'un-sleeped'. But, if I have shutdown the Mac the Acer does  not recognisethe start up - at least it shows nothing on screen. When I have shut down - nowknowing the problem, I use an old Samsung monitor to cope with the start up -it does so fine - and then put the Mac to 'sleep', then change monitors andrestart the Mac - the Acer is now fine. I am using the same cables for theSamsung and the Acer. The Acer had no problems with my old Windows system -from sleep or shut down. I really do not think there is anything wrong with theAcer - could it be some sort of recognition problem? Please can anyone assist.Donald Picton

I posted the same question a day ago with no response. I'm using an Acer x193w. You actually don't have to switch monitors to get it to work. Just make sure you turn off the monitor after shutting down the Mac mini (actually push the power button on the monitor, not just let it go to sleep). If you turn on the monitor (push the power button on the monitor), then power up the Mac mini, the monitor is recognized. The issue didnt exist with Snow Leopard for me. It only started after I started using Lion. Hope this issue gets fixed In a future OS update.

  • How to connect an old ADC flat panel to the new Mac mini?

I am thinking of getting one of these new Mac mini's for the kids in the den and I have an old 20" flat panel ADC from Apple that is still going strong. Is there an adapter that will work with this configuration?
    Thanks,
    West

Somewhat ungainly, but you'll need the mini-DVI-DVI adaptor (supplied with the new mini), and a DVI-ADC adaptor (http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8661LL/B?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MjE0NTg4NA)

  • Clicking noise from the HDD of the new Mac Mini

I just recently purchased a new Mac mini to retire the Macbook pro from my leaving room (it was heating up too much when running Plex). The problem I find is that the new Mini's HDD (toshiba 5400) has a loud clicking noise which on the MBP I can't barely notice. Is anybody else experiencing this?
I would like to understand if this is just a faulty HDD so I can exchange it or if the sound is normal and then I would just return it.
    Thanks in advance

No clicking on my 2010 aluminum model or any of the previous ones that I have had.

  • ITunes on new Mac Mini does not show shared libraries on network or songs on NAS drive

iTunes on new Mac Mini does not show shared libraries on network or songs on NAS drive
The latest version of iTunes on a 3-month old Mac Mini (8 gig RAM, OS 10.10.2) does not see any of the shared iTunes libraries on a  MacBookPro (MBP) (OS 10.9.5) and a 14-month old Mac Mini (OS 10.9.5). And a network shared drive/media server does not appear as well. I have a Gigabite Ethernet G4 and on it, the MPB and the "old" mini I can see the various shared music libraries and NAS, but not on the new Mini.
The little house with a music note inside it that I see on the upper left corner of the iTunes 12.1 window on my MBP does not appear on iTunes 12.1 on the new Mac Mini. I have gone through all the iTunes preferences and can not find where I can turn on this feature. The new Mac Mini is on the local network and I can reach the internet successfully.
I have been using iTunes since its beginning (still have a PowerTower Pro with a working copy of SoundJam), so I am not a newbie, but this has me baffled.

May I add, that I gave full rights to the user at the Mac Mini to access and change data on the server drive for ITunes Media.

  • New Mac Mini Server 10.9 crashing daily

I have a brand new mac mini server with the latest updates with the only thing running on it is FileMaker Server. The Apple Server functions are not on. The only thing running on this machine is FileMaker Server 13. The machine was crashing at 12:15 every night for a week. After trying to narrow it down I turned off FileMaker Server and the machine would still crash at 12:15 the logs didn't show a crash. The only thing showing in the log at that time was parentalcontrolsd  doing something and a some kind of screen sharing item which doesn't make sense because no one can screen share with it.
I reinstalled OSX this weekend. I did not install the server add-ons at all.
It was running fine then today it crashed this afternoon as 2 users where on using it.

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • New Mac Mini is Slow, Upgrade RAM?

I have a new Mac Mini.  Considering the cost, it is surprisingly slow.  It has 2GB of RAM and I think that may be the problem.  What sort of speed increase can I expect with an upgrade to 8GB?  The main problem seems to be swapping and switching between applications.
Is a RAM upgrade likely to fix this issue?

Wait, what?  Someone actually listened to advice from someone who has been developing software for 33 years!?
Yeah, RAM matters if you're doing something like video editing or 3D graphics or even some sort of heavy Photoshop.  Or if you are running numerous Chrome tabs at once or something like that.  But it would have to be heavy use indeed if you're running into slowdown with 8 gigs.
What filesharing apps do, basically, is this: they have a buffer in memory, which might be a few megs.  They fill that buffer up, then they write that buffer to disk.  This is so it's not thrashing your disk all the time with tiny writes, but on the other hand, you wouldn't want it to download a gig before writing to disk: what if the computer crashed and you had to download all that data again?
Once you have 8 gigs, the MOST BANG FOR THE BUCK BY FAR is an SSD drive.  In fact, I have a Windows gaming machine with 4 gigs from 2007 that still runs most of what I need just fine, and an SSD just drove the performance out the roof.  You want a second larger drive on the thing, which is where you store non-speed-critical apps and all your data, and then a 100-200 gig SSD is where you put your OS and speed-critical apps, and loading it from there is far far faster than off of a conventional hard disk.  This isn't something you'd want to install yourself on a Mac Mini though.
    Cheers!

  • No video on brand new mac mini

I am trying to get a brand new mac mini going for the first time, and although it switches on, there is no video on the attached VGA display.
I have connected the same display to my Ibook VGA adapter and it works perfectly, so it is not the display. I have also tried another display which also works on the I book. What else can I do other that take it into a mac store as I am a very long way from one?

Here is an assortment of Apple technical articles dealing with this sort of thing. Good luck.
