New Mac OS X installation on Powerbook
I just bought a second hand Powerbook G4. It was delivered with the original 'Powerbook G4 Mac OS X Install Disc' (Version 10.3.7). I bought the latest Mac OS X Tiger DVD Edition, too.
I want to run Tiger of course. Do I need to keep 10.3.7 and update to Tiger or is it better to install Tiger alone ?

You could always update if you wanted to. But, I'm guessing that since none of the information on the hdd is yours, you could do a clean install of tiger. I would actually do a clean install to keep the OS fresh.

You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
Do not get the discs from eBay. Apple only. From eBay you do not know what you are getting. Amazon sells retail discs, not Apple installation discs.

Transferring Photoshop to new Mac w/o installation disc
I have Photoshop from the CS4 suite (other programs are not installed) on my current Macbook Pro and am looking into purchasing a new Macbook Pro. I'd like to transfer Photoshop onto the new laptop, and fortunately my product is registered and I still have access to my serial number online. Unfortunately, I can't find my installation disc(s). Will I be able to successfully transfer the program using Apple's migration assistance, or am I likely to encounter problems?

I just migrate settings and software, include CC, from my PowerBook to a new Mac Pro. All the software download from CC is there and working, except for CC, and there is not way to install. I have try because every time I restar keep bothering asking for installation, (by the way, the link is not up to date). Will appreciate your help.

I am exhausted just getting to the point of being allowed to ask my question. I recently decided to upgrade from an old PowerBook G4 that we have used for years, and am using now. I bought a new Mac Mini and a reconditioned Apple A1267 Monitor that was working beautifully when hooked to a slightly newer PowerBook in the store. Both the Mini and the monitor are plugged in, and attached to each other but I feel light a dolt. I cannot even figure out how to turn them on or even get a power light to come on. Can someone help me?
How is the Mini coonected to the momitor?

I purchased CS6 in June of 2012 and have been using it without a problem ever since. I just purchased a new Mac however, and want to install my current version of CS6. I downloaded the installer from adobe.com and am to the point of entering my serial number. However, I am now receiving an error message stating that my serial number has been "revoked" and that I my product cannot be downloaded. I have the purchase receipt and can provide documentation of the serial number and order number. Will someone please help?

Installation, moving Photoshop CS6 from one Mac to new Mac
My son has student edition of CS6, is trying to move it from imac 2010 to new imac. He has the product code, but not the serial number. The program has
transferred fine and opens fine, but is unusable until authorized. This was a boxed product with installation disk (new mac doesn't have a disc reader). How do we get the serial number to activate the program? We tried entering the product code on the Adobe website but evidently the code is not "acceptable" for the Student and Teacher Edition. Error Code was 213:5. Is this a deactivation problem?

Otherwise launch the installed licensed copy of Photoshop and select Help>Product Registration. This will register the serial number with your Adobe ID.

Installation of Final Cut Studio on new Mac Pro
Hello all,
I have just purchased a new Mac Pro, and am preparing to install Final Cut Studio upgrade. The wrinkle for me is that I have Final Cut Pro 3.02 installed on an old G4 Power Mac. I have two video projects on the old computer, also backed up on external drives, that I want to be able to edit on the new computer.
I am planning to install my old FCP software on my new Mac Pro, then install the FCS upgrade software. Is there anything I should know or do before doing this to make sure that I will not have any trouble either 1) installing Final Cut Studio upgrade, or 2) accessing my old FCP files.

I'm trying to install Creatice Suite 5.5 on a new Mac but I get the error message "Inconsistency in the installer database. Please restart your computer and install again."

Can not do an installation on my newer mac.
I recently bought a new mac and transferred all my files and data over from my old mac. CS5 did not work and prompted me to re-install the software. I put in the DVD, double-clicked the INSTALL icon and nothing happens. I double-clicked it several times and nothing launches, nothing happens. I've already trashed the old software. What do I do?
