New Mac Software update causes blue screen

Hello, I need some help...
I Updated my Macbook Pro with the reqular Mac software update (includes quicktime, itunes and a couple others) I was given the option to "shut down" or "restart"...
I clicked "shut down".
My computer then proceeded not to turn off but simply turn to a blue screen...
After some time I turned off my machine and restarted it...
It took a little longer time to start up as it usually does after a software update...
But after going through the main white screen with the apple, then moving through to the next screen that has the loading bar. that loading bar window comes up for a split second and then disappears leaving a blue screen with the cursor and then does nothing more...
I am stuck with a blue screen and a curser...
I have already tried to start up in safemode...
Any help would be much appreciated

Very astute question, for Tiger on Intel you must use the exact install disk for that Model, Gray in color for one thing.
One thing to try other than a Safe Boot...
Tough without the Install disc, but some things to try...
Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...
/sbin/fsck -fy
Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

4. When fsck reports that your volume is OK, type reboot at the prompt and then press Return.

Recent software updates causes blue screen

I installed Leopard last week and it's been working just fine.
Last night the software update application upadted 5 apps - iTunes, Quicktime, Keychain, and a couple others I can't remember. Since the update I havn't been able to login and use my system - when it starts up it eventually stalls at a blue screen.
I've read reports of people having this issue after upgrading to Leopard, but like I said, I upgraded to Leopard just fine and have been using it for over a week.
I just discussed this with a support agent who suggested I try another archive & install - I'll post the results.
In the meantime, has anyone else run into this?
Also, would Audio Hijack's Instant Hijack (Rogue Amoeba software) and Little Snitch be considered "extensions" that might lead to this issue?

As it turns out, I had an Application enhancer I didn't even know about. I must have installed it a long time ago, tried it, lost interest, and forgot about it.

Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
Your Mac must be able to run OSX 10.6.8. If you can run that OSX then you can run iTunes 11.1.

Software update Causes Black Screen

Hello,
I just did a software update for my macbook pro and not only do I now have a black screen, the macbook pro does not show up in my wireless network so even though the apple chime sounded, I don't even know if the macbook pro is even online or up and running.
My Apple Care ran out in April and if I have to I'll bring it to the Genius bar but I don't have a car and getting there is hard so if it's something simple that other people have dealt with maybe someone can help me from the community? I really really hope I don't have to buy a new macbook pro and if it turns out that the update ruined my laptop I will be enraged,

If you just ran the 2011-005 security update AND you frequently use Time Capsule for backups, I would recommend restoring to a point in time PRIOR to applying the security update. It has caused many issues [freezing the system, blue flickering screen, not getting to login screen, spinning beachball, grey screen with dim apple logo with spinning indicator, not allowing login, slowing down the system, etc.] for me and others in the support community.
The my Macbook Pro has been at the Genius bar for three days. They won't acknowledge that an update from Apple could cause the issues, but after looking at recent entries for "2011-005" or "can't login" you can see that there are problems.
Currently, my laptop has been supposedly having the OS completely reinstalled. This should have taken a few hours but it is going on day 3 at the Apple store.
So, short story is to go back in time, if possible for you [Time Capsule option]

Software updates causes black screen on macbook

The laptop is an Apple Unibody MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo, processor - 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Memory - 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. OSX 10.9.1 Maverick.
The Macbook prompts software updates in which the macbook is supposed to restart after the software installs. I’ve received this ‘Install software’ prompt twice since I’ve had this macbook, purchased 12/16/13 delivered 12/20/13.
After each software update the macbook doesn’t restart, there’s just a black screen, but the power light is on. I’ve had to zap the pram in order to get the computer to work. The latest incident happened after the macbook prompted a Firmware update. The Firmware software installed (I thought) then there was an odd, high-pitched squeak sound and the screen went black, same as the last time. I once again tried zapping the pram, but this time I had to try it 3 times before the computer came back on.
When I check the software updates, under the title “Updates Installed in the Last 30 Days” it indicates that the Firmware did actually install on the date of the last black screen incident (Dec. 30th), BUT above the titled window “Updates installed in the Last 30 Days” is another window titled “1 Update Available” and that window contains the 2 firmwares that supposedly installed on Dec. 30th - SMC Firmware and EFI firmware. If these 2 firmwares supposedly installed on Dec.30th, why does it show that they are still available for download. I have to assume that they didn’t actually install, and that I going to have to hit the ‘update’ button to install them, but I just know that I’m going to get that black screen again. Does anyone have an answer to this problem.
I should also add that I've only used this macbook with the power cord, but the battery is losing power, it's now at 96%, from 99% when I first got the macbook.

Lion has been causing a lot of problems on older hardware, it killed a 4 year old 15" MBP on me.
Go back to 10.6, the stability of your business comes first.

BIOS Update causes Blue Screen of Death - PLEASE HELP

PLEASE HELP!!
After recently reformatting a Lenovo 3000 N200 (XP SP3), I downloaded the Lenovo Care (or whatever it's called), which downloaded a whole lot of updates, drivers....
The last thing that was downloaded was a BIOS Update. Before flashing and reprogramming the BIOS, the program created a backup of the old BIOS.
Since the BIOS Update, I can no longer turn on the laptop without the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). When I try to turn it on, it shows the Lenovo startup screen, then goes to the "previous attempt was interrupted" menu (the menu where you can choose 'Safe Mode'...), and no matter which option I choose, it starts to show the XP startup screen (with the progress bar), for 1/2 a second, then displays the BSOD for 1/2 a second (too fast too even read what it says or even get the error code).
What can I do to remedy the situation? Can I somehow access the backup of the old BIOS to restore it? Or is there something else I can do?
BTW, When I click F1 on the Lenovo startup screen (to get into the BIOS settings) it shows the BIOS version to be "68ET35WW (V3.03) - which is apparently the latest version for that laptop

If you have restored the device as new and tested it without using your backup and it is still malfunctioning, then you need to make an appointment with the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location, and have the hardware checked.

BB Desktop Software causes Blue Screen at Windows XP

Hi,
I'm using BB Desktop Software 6.1.0.35 at Windows XP over Lenovo X201 laptop. When I try to sync the adressbook or calendar between my BB(Storm II 9520) and my laptop, it often causes blue screen at my laptop.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the desktop software but the blue screen occures again. But, the same version of Desktop Software at Windows VISTA over HP pavillion Desktop doesn't cause similar problem.
Please kindly let me know how can I fix it or please check if there are any defects at your Desktop Software.

Just unisntall this version and install the desktop version 5.1. That will not give you blue screen infact it is fully compatible with xp

Skype video crashes my GPU driver and causes blue screen.

Hello,
Installed a new copy of windows and got the latest version of skype for my PC (on wich skype worked just fine, video calls, voice calls, but it was an older version. No hardware changes)
With the new skype, I , for the least, get driver crashes, and for the most, a blue screen, when I just go to options to set up my webcam.As soon as I see the square "loading" my webcam in the options, everything freezes and I get a driver crash or a blue screen.
Current specs:
i5 4440, stock clocks
2x8gb 1333 ddr3 1.5v ram, stock
R7 260x, stock
500w PSU, not the best quality, But I also tried a 1000w platinum PSU, and same resaults.
last error code I remeber from the blue screen was: 0x00000116
I know it is related to the GPU, but it doesn't have power deficiency, since I manage to run heavy games just fine.By the way, my webcam works just fine on different web sites, so it's not the webcam.
What I tried:
-Degrading to the oldest supported version by skype
-Degrading video drivers
-Using different webcams
-Installed all windows 7 64 bit updates

I would suggest uninstalling Droidcam as it could be the source of some delays assisting in causing the problem. TDR problems occur when your videocard is unable to respond in 2 seconds for a variety of reasons (heat, tweaks), forcefully resetting the card. Some people increase this delay in their registry from 2 to up to 10 seconds to give the card time to catch up so that a reset doesn't occur. Dreamweaver CS3 After Mac Software Update

Dreamweaver CS3 has an issue with CSS background display and
other display issues after installing latest Mac software updates.
Display in browser is unaffected.
The culprit seems to be the Quicktime Version 7.6 update.
Changes to the folder located at System \ Library \ Quicktime seem
to cause an issue with Adobe products.
Solution: Do not intall Quicktime 7.6 update OR after update
replace Quicktime folder with previous version of folder from
backups. Restart computer.

I'm having other similar issues, where the splash window that
launches when you first start the app just sits there for about 3-4
minutes before dreamweaver launches. See no effect with other adobe
apps. This started after a mac update and an adobe update of some

The update is about 1.5 GB. So the time to download it is entirely dependent on your Internet connection speed.

1) You need to have the paid upgrade installed.
2) You need to paste the lyrics into the lyrics tab of a song/album.
3) You need to re-sync the Touch.
4) When playing music, you click on the album cover (in portrait mode only) and the lyrics will superimpose on the screen.

In order to register my iPhone 5 it says to install the new iTunes software update and in order to install that I need the new mac software version 10.6 but it is saying that there is no software update available?
