New .Mac Web Gallery features don't work in Opera

I'm seriously bummed that these really amazing new features don't work in Opera. Only Opera has a full-screen viewing mode. Utilizing these .Mac features in full-screen mode is like using iPhoto in full-screen mode.

Haven't tried it myself, but when it was announced I thought they mentioned it works in "every" browser. What happens when you use it in Opera?

No problem, glad to help! According to the link in dougofakkad's post CS6 is the earliest version compatible with Mavericks.

  • .Mac web gallery: Blank page on iPhone

    Hi,
I've used iPhoto '08 to publish several albums to my .Mac Web Gallery, and viewing them works fine using Safari on a Mac. However, when using iPhone with a URL like
    http://gallery.mac.com/membername
I'm forwarded to gallery.mac.com/iphone/membername, and all I get there is a blank page.
I tried reloading several times and restarted my iPhone - makes no difference. It just seems like the iPhone version of my Web Gallery has not been created properly.
Does anyone have the same problem or know of a fix?
    Thanks.
    Tim

I was on the phone with Apple for almost an hour today discussing the problem. They said they would alert product development of the issue. Now, just a few hours later, my Web Gallery is suddenly working fine on the iPhone... if this has anything to do with my call, then that's what I call a speedy fix.

  • Feature Request – .mac web gallery support

Would be great, if you could upload your photos to the .mac web gallery and if my customers had the possibility to rate and select pictures there. Also subfolders (subevents) for the .mac gallery would be great!

You need to post that here:

  • Web Gallery Images Don't Show Up On Web

I am very new to Lightroom, but have been using Dreamweaver and Photoshop for quite a while now. I took about 10 pictures that I wanted to be on a test web gallery, brought them into Lightroom as their own collection, selected them all and went to the Web tab at the top, HTML Gallery was selected by default and I left everything else at the defualt, just to see what I could get working. I then went to Export, and it export to a folder called 'gallery' on my desktop. I then went to the 'gallery' folder on my desktop, and inside there was a file called 'index.html'. I opened it, and the gallery loaded perfectly with all of the images showing.
Then, I selected the gallery folder and opened my FTP client, and uploaded the entire folder to my web server, whose domain is, let's say, test.com. I then went to test.com/gallery, and the gallery loaded but without any of the pictures. The outlines of the cells are fine, the defualt text all came up, but in every cell where an image should be, there is a little image missing icon in the top-left corner. This is the same in all browsers, and I have tried using the different kinds of galleries (Flash, etc.) but they all have the same sort of problem. The flash gallery specifically just says 'Loading' and hangs there, even though when running off of my desktop it works just fine.
In addition, I have tried configuring Lightroom's built-in FTP uploader to upload directly instead of exporting and then uploading, but that had the same results.
I have attached a picture which will show the difference between when it is on my desktop and when it is on the web.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there a file I'm supposed to rename for when it goes onto the web? I made sure that none of the folders I had the pictures in, none of the collections, and none of the names of the pictures themselves had spaces or punctuation so that it wouldn't mess up any coding that Lightroom would try to automate. I'm not familiar with the Lightroom settings and would really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

Well, I re-read what was said in that forum and made those changes. I'm not quite sure what the SDK was for in this case, I just went to the folder, right clicked, and opened the files I needed to edit with Notepad. Then I edited, saved, re-opened Lightroom, re-exported, re-uploaded, and...drumroll...it worked perfectly.
Thank you all very much for your help. I had been using the Trial version of Lightroom, but after reviewing all of the other features and, finally, getting the web gallery feature to work just fine, I think I'm going to purchase it!
I'm going to send in a feature request through the little option on the side of this Forum page, and request that either those options be used by default (I just had my friend upload them to his Unix server and it worked fine on his), or that there should be an option to choose what type of server you're using. I don't think a user should have to edit program files, especially for something so simplistic. Thanks again.

  • IWeb'08 lacks tight integration with .Mac Web Gallery

I just created an album page using iWeb'08 (http://web.mac.com/rodkar/Rods.Mac_Site/My_Mac_Album/My_MacAlbum.html) . I have also used iMove'08 and iPhoto'08 to publish a few pictures and movies just to try out the new Web Gallery (http://gallery.mac.com/rodkar#gallery). I think it is clever that I can drag an album that had already been published to Web Gallery using the Media folder of iWeb on the album page. However, the same cannot be performed on movies that I had published to Web Gallery. I could only use "insert .mac web gallery" from the menu bar to insert what turned out to be an embedding of a fixed size movie on the album page. While the photo album takes advantage the new skimming feature, the movies cannot make use of the new features. Or is there another way to publish that I haven't found out yet?
    Namaste,
    Roderick

Seeing as iTunes store video is m4v format I bet someone writing iTunes thought we'd better not allow anyone to add iTunes store material to an iPhoto library, so all .m4v files are locked out.
Just tested this and exported a short .m4v and as you say when you try to import the .m4v file is greyed out.
    I think this'll work:
Under Share choose Export using Quicktime
    I chose
Movie to Quicktime Movie then selected Options tab
    Choose Quicktime to mov
Use an h264 codec with AAC.
I can certainly import that .mov to iPhoto - and create a web gallery - my uploading is very slow and everything is 'pending' at present but i thinks it's slowly going there!

  • Aperture to .Mac Web Gallery Help please. Urgent !!

Hi, I having been going round in circles trying to figure this out -
Q1) I cannot find a way to update to my published .Mac web gallery from Aperture(2.1)
When I select the versions that I want to add to the gallery I drag them into the Web
Gallery album in the projects inspector and synchronize the gallery to update, but
only the Master images are added to the published web gallery, not the versions !?
Q2) Also, when I originally created the Web Gallery album Aperture imported my entire
project (All masters, complete stacks, vers etc) but somehow only published the versions
I had selected for publishing to a .Mac Web Gallery. Why has aperture included the Masters,
complete stacks etc in the Web Gallery album ?
If someone could help with this, particularly Q1, it would be much appreciated as I have
a client waiting to see more versions which I cannot manage to add to the existing
published Web Gallery for that client.
    Thx

    Hi Ernie, thx for responding.
I have tried everything, but same result - Aperture only publishes the unedited Master, not the version with Adjustments. When I originally published images to the .Mac web gallery I disabled all downloads, as the gallery is intended for client review & selection only.
Some further questions if you don't mind.. Am I doing the right thing in dragging versions from the project to the Web Gallery album (in projects inspector)? When I do that I see that Aperture copies both the Master & version to the web gallery album (they are both visible in the web gallery album) The problem is that only the Master is published to the .Mac web gallery (which i don't want), and not the edited Version(which I do want) This worked ok the first time around when I created the web gallery album and published it to .Mac galleries, however I did notice that the web gallery album in Aperture contains the entire contents of the project (Masters, complete stacks & versions etc)
The Aperture manual is very vague on adding new images to a web gallery album and publishing them to an existing >mac Web gallery. It says that this can be done, but not how to do so. I may be missing something simple and obvious, but the Aperture user manual is really not sufficient in this area. Any further ideas or suggestions would be welcome. Thx again.

  • A workaround for Aperture users to use .Mac Web Gallery

As a user who recently switched to Aperture - I was hugely disappointed seeing some amazing new photo-related features in iLife '08 not available for Aperture users. Let alone the cash for purchasing software suites, I can't convince myself switching back to iPhoto for a single feature. So I googled and searched around...
Some pre-requisite for the workaround: You must have iLife '08, Aperture and .Mac installed.
    _*Solution 1*_
Create an album in Aperture that contains the images you want to upload to your .Mac Web Gallery. In iPhoto '08, create an empty library, then File > Show Aperture Library, choose the album and import images from there.
The downside of this is the images are your Versions in preview quality.
    _*Solution 2*_
Export Versions from Aperture and import the images to iPhoto and perform the upload.
    _*Solution 3*_
For users building websites in iWeb, I have seen threads that one could use the media browser in iLife suite to perform similar result but it also limits to the preview quality of Aperture.
I would have to say even the workaround is hugely disappointed but I can't see any other solutions at the moment. I couldn't recall my last ocassion on having such disappointment for Apple's software development.

Apple really needs to rev. Aperture so it sends photos directly to the new .Mac Web Galleries.
    Everyone needs to go here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/aperture.html
And voice there opinion there to get this added to Aperture.
    Thanks, Scott K.

  • .mac web gallery compression/encoding

I have iLife '08 on a pre-intel mac so I don't have access to iMovie '08. I'm using the web gallery feature of .mac for my movies with less than stellar results.
    Here is my workflow:
    1. Create my movie in iMovie '06
    2. Export as a QT web streaming-medium file.
    3. Import above file into iPhoto '06
    4. Share movie to .mac web gallery via iPhoto
You can only get content into your web gallery thru iPhoto or iMovie which is why I have to go this route. The problem is, the compression/encoding via iMovie allows the viewer a choice of small/medium/large movie, with the large selection (supposedly) DVD quality. I obviously offer only one fixed steam at the present.
My question is this, does anyone know the settings in QT pro I can use to achieve the same result as iMovie '08?

no, there is no dialog box. When you select "import to library" iPhoto simply imports the movie file. From there, you can share it to your .mac gallery.
Also, I don't want to strip out the other sizes. I want to include them.

  • How to delete an Album in .Mac web gallery?

I sent a couple of albums to my .mac web gallery using iPhoto for organization.
A couple of months later I eliminated that particular iPhoto library all together when I re did my photo organization.
I've since re-done the photo organization and made up a new iPhoto for just the web gallery photos (having them a smaller size)
I published the new photos from the new iPhoto library to my .mac site but noticed there are 2 albums still there from the old iPhoto.
Since the old iPhoto has been eliminated, how do I eliminate the old albums on the iWeb site?
I looked and tried to find them in the hard drive library, apps support but don't see anything that says iPhoto or iWeb support.
How do you eliminate an album on the .mac site if the original photos are not on iPhoto? I assume there should be a place on the hard drive, but where do I look?
    allie

Go to iDisk>Web>Sites>_gallery and delete the folder.
Perhaps it's wise to check the content of the folders if you have more than one.

  • IWeb not seeing .Mac Web gallery photo albums

I uploaded a photo album created in iPhoto to .Mac Web Gallery. The photo album is accessible on the web.
When I go into iWeb to put a link to it, I've gone to Insert>.Mac Web Gallery, which is what the instructions say you are supposed to do. However, it says "No albums or movies available."
I saw Jason's post about a similar issue, but he said his problem was only related to creating an album with Aperture. My album was created with iPhoto, though, and it should work.
Can someone help me resolve this issue? How can I make an album in Web Gallery available to my iWeb website?

Having the same issue as use, and I'm publishing my Web Galleries with iPhoto, so no Aperture connection here. I was able to drag the web gallery from the Media window into a picture page, which populated the page with images, but it doesn't act like a Web Gallery connection, because images uploaded to the Web Gallery don't show up in the iWeb version of the picture pages.
    Hopefully there's a solution soon.

  • Can't send to .mac web gallery?

Hello, This feature has never worked for my phone, and having just recently started making use of my .mac account, I thought it would be fun to send photos to my web gallery. Problem is...Every time I try to send a picture to my .mac web gallery, it tells me that my .mac login has failed, and to check my .mac name and password in mail settings. They are correct, and I can get and receive mail on my .mac address. What gives? I've tried several times over the past several weeks. Any suggestions?

One thing to check out that might help.
Can you send and receive mail on your .mac account on your iphone.
If so, try emailing a photo to you .mac gallery without using the the send to web gallery button.
Use the email photo button and enter the .mac gallery email address
Here is an article from the apple support website that might help out.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1662
Another thing, go to settings > mail and check the default account is set to.
If you have more than one email account on the iphone, try setting it to the an account other than the .mac account.
    Hope this helps.

  • Safari Not Able to Open .Mac Web Gallery

This is a very unexpected error. A friend sent me his web gallery link and Safari is not able to open the page. An error message appears:
"This browser is incompatible with .Mac Web Gallery.
    We support the following browsers:
    Mac OS X
Safari 2.0 or later (requires Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later)
    Firefox 1.5 or later"
Now that is very unexpected because I'm using OS X 10.5.1 and Safari 3.0.4. Wouldn't you know that I can launch it just fine using Firefox. I don't want to use Firefox and thought I would be able to use an Apple product (Safari) to actually open Apple technology (web gallery).
This is the only issue I've experienced after Leopard upgrade and the most annoying. I've provided Safari Bug feedback, but I don't expect a response.
I'm looking for someone out there to help me through this issue. Otherwise, I hope Apple is listening. Don't give me a reason to switch back to FireFox.

    Hi,
From previous postings here it seems to be a problem with the .Mac Gallery rather than Safari. Anecdotal reports seem to suggest there is insufficient bandwidth on those servers and when they get bogged down they mis-report the error message you saw.
Check in the [.Mac Web Gallery|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1199] forum to see if they have some more concrete information.

  • Reload iPhoto .mac web gallery photos

I have reinstalled iPhoto' 08 because it stopped working. After reinstall it I can update the .mac web gallery, every gallery I add, appears in .mac web gallery after the first 4 galleries wich were uploaded before reinstall iPhoto.
Is it possible to force iPhoto to reload that galleries? I would not like to delete that galleries and upload it again.

I've founded how to solve my problem in another place from this forum.
