New macbook 2008 - when it will be without problems?
Hi, I am from Czech republic and I would like to buy new macbook 2,4GHz. But I am worried about a lot of problems that I can hear.
I was waiting for update and when I saw new update this morning I was happy. I thought it solves all problems - display and trackpad.
And now I can see a lot of people discuss displays and trackpads problems yet. I have question.
1)Are these hardware or software problems?
2)And how long time has it took to solve yet?
I would expect Apple will give notice how far it is to solve! But I cant find out any informations on web. You are from America.. you should know more.. and you have more experience..
3)what is usual with new models?
Hi, welcome. This is a user support forum, of course there are problems with computers. I have yet come across a machine that isn't flawed at some point. That's what fuels my hobby, fixing machines. Usually, the industry standard is a failure rate of 3 - 5% of the total machines built. So don't worry, just get the AppleCare and they'll take care of you. Heck, I just got my machine replaced by Apple because of AppleCare. Now I got the 2.4 GHz Macbook.

My guess is that you previously synced the iPhone with a different computer in the past. You will probably want to set up Home Sharing.

How can I sync my iPad 2 with my new MacBook Pro when it is already synced with my old MacBook? I am getting a message on the new MacBook Pro that says I am not allowed to sync the iPad 2 because it is synced to another iTunes library.
1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPad with it.

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.
First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on. -

My MacBook Pro will not connect to my home wifi but will connect everywhere else. My other Apple devices (I-pad, I-touch, another MacBook Pro) connect to the router without problems. It was working fine but all of a sudden stopped working.Thanks!
try this.
get back into your router's settings and start deleting devices that are not connected to your router.
you can also delete the ones that are connected - they'll connect again.
on the DHCP side of it, increase the amount of users that can connect/log in to your router.
see if that sorts it out for you.

Glad you were able to solve your problem. For the benefit of others who may find this discussion later, allow me to suggest another possibility.
If you have access to another Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion with an optical drive, you should be able to use the Remote Disc feature to access the optical drive on that other Mac. -

I'm hoping to restore it to my new Macbook, but when inserting disc to iTunes 10.7. it tells me that I've inserted a blank disc so it does not suggest to restore the content. What to do? The back up has definitely been a success as when inserting disc back to the old Mac and iTunes7, it does recognize the disc and suggests to add contents to the library.

Okay, so i was on craigslist and found a guy who would trade me his fairly new Macbook 2008 model for my brand new iPad 2. Is this a good deal and should i go throuh with it?
A deal is only a good deal if you get the best value out of the deal.
If you need a MacBook more than an iPad or an iPad more than a MacBook, then it's a good deal.

My new macbook pro (Mountain Lion 10.8.1) will not log into my 1and1 outgoing mail server. ( It will receive mail - but does not send)My old Snow Leopard macbook does not have the same problem ( server settings etc. are identical) . Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

I am really bad with technology...When you first sync with a new iTunes library iTunes will delete any iTunes media from your phone and replace it with the media in the library being synced with. iTunes media includes things like apps, music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, books, custom ringtones and photos synced to your phone from a computer. If you are also syncing your contacts and calendars with your computer it will replace the ones on your phone with those on your computer. If your iTunes library, contacts, calendars and iPhoto are all empty, you will end up with all of these being empty on your phone.
To preserve these you need to follow the steps in the linked article. This will transfer purchased media from your phone to your iTunes library and transfer contacts and calendar entries to your Mac. As discussed in the guide, it will not transfer music not purchased from the iTunes store (which can only be done using 3rd party software such as the ones discussed) or photos synced to your phone from another computer (which can be transferred to your computer using an app like PhotoSync). These will need to done first or you will lose them, as discussed in the guide. -
My new macbook air storage keep going down without doing anything.
so, i got a new macbook air 11 inch, 120 gb. i set it all up and stuff and when i check my storage i only got 99 and stuff left. how can that be? i didn't download anything, all i did was set it up. I download stuff and delete it so my storage keeps going up and down. Then one day, i have to restore my cousin's iPad for her using my macbook which has 99 something gb, then after that's done, the storage goes down to 93 gb. Move your cursor up to the Apple menu and select About this Mac then select Storage from the options at the top of the dialog box that opens. This Spotlight view will show you how much of the drive is being used to store Applications, Files, Music, etc. Other is something of a catchall group so it doesn't really help.
One explanation for the "missing" space is Backups. If you are using TimeMachine the computer will make backups to the internal drive whenever it isn't connected to the TimeMachine drive. This 'missing' space really isn't missing because if you really need it the computer will automatically delete the internal backups to free it up for you.
Another explanation are cache files and system logs. Your programs and the operating system need to keep temporary files and they aren't always immediately deleted. Your browser(s) also create cache files which makes your internet surfing experience much faster for sites you frequently visit. These caches can be quite large.
To delete/trim system and application caches you can restart your computer while holding the shift key. This is a safe boot and among other things it will delete/trim caches. Reboot normally once you get to the Finder. Also, remember to empty the trash can - putting stuff in the trash doesn't immediately delete it. If you use iPhoto you must manually delete its trash too. -
I bought a new macbook pro and now every time i try to buy anything with my apple id it doesn't go through. I tried Ibooks and iTunes but neither one will work. I have registered this computer and even tried unregistering all the other computers but that did not do anything. I also checked my form of payment and that is not the problem either because i have no problems what so ever buying anything on my iPhone or my desktop computer.
It is just this computer.
