New Macbook Pro 2012 keeps freezing (HELP!!)
It keeps freezing, it happens after a few hours, sometimes after a few minutes!!
First, the app (google chroome, safari, skype) and then, the finder... I can move the cursor but it doesn't respond, the beach ball won't stop spinning and I had to force shut down by holding the power button (not once...two, three or four times a day)
I've done everything, disk utility almost every day (repair permissions), resetting the pram... I don't know what else to do... I was thinking about buying 8GB RAM (2x 4) but I don't want to waste my money if it's not going to work...

I installed indesign CS5 on new macbook pro and keeps freezing with spinning wheel once the app opens. Is there an issue with OS Mav or font issue or a plist I can pull. All other Adobe products work.
Migration should never be done with any Adobe program.
If you have done Migration, you have to UNINSTALL first (if even possible) and then download Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and run that also. When this is done, restart your computer and install the programs from an original Adobe Installer.
Other question is, if your OS is supporting that version. You can try it, it is not officially supported, but it might work.
But CC will work, upgrade to CC2014 (without additional cost), use that as it is better anyway. -

VIf the "funny noise" was a clicking or clattering it is probably a failed or failing hard drive. No, I don't think it had anything to do with the update. I'm assuming the "funny noise" was not the sound of the CD/DVD drive waking up you hear each time your reboot. Does it still make the "funny noise?"
If it is now working, I can't tell from your post, you probably should make an appointment at an Apple Store to have it checked since it is new.
It is generally a good idea to empty the trash and repair permissions (using Disk Utility) before and after any update. You should have a copy of Onyx on your HD. The developer is very active so keep up with the updates. it is free. It's a good idea to follow the instructions.
If I could only have one heavy duty repair solution, it would be DiskWarrior which is available at most Apple Stores. The developer has been around since System 8 or System 9 days. DiskWarrior is $99.95 and considering it will repair problems that other utilities can't touch, it is a steal. I run DiskWarrior about once a month.
Finally, I would get AppleJack which only runs in Single User Mode. That means holding down the <Command> and <S> keys at startup. AppleJack makes it possible to run Disk Repair without having to boot from an external drive or using the install disks. Follow the instructions. AppleJack is free. A plus is you will get to see what is going on "under the hood" because Single User Mode is mostly just the Unix part of Mac OS. You will get to see what all computers looked like just a few decades ago.

New Macbook Pro Retina - Keeps freezing...
Picked up the brand new Macbook Pro Retina on Tuesday. Great piece of kit, however I have found the system has frozen a couple of times now meaning I have to reboot by holding down the power key.
Any advice? Obviously not what I would expect from a £1250 laptop after two days...Seriously Apple, you make us pay so much money for a "great" product, yet all we are faced with are issues. Please fix this, or a lot of Apple enthusiasts, will start leaving.

My brand new MacBook Pro 15" keeps freezing
I got a MacBook Pro 15" with 750GB memory, and 8GB RAM, and it keeps randomely freezing, im about to go away to boarding school, so if you know how to fix this please tell me. It is not a problem with using to much RAM i dont think, because I checked activity moniter and it said i had 6.19GB free. Possibly overheating. Any suggestions?
Here is freeing up hard drive space in case you or others need it.
Not enough free space can cause all sorts of issues including freezing and disk corruption.

Is there any deal like this?Apple has a rebuy and recycle program, but you won't get much for your old MBP from that program. Your best bet is to just sell it yourself (I used eBay) and use the money you get to buy your new computer.

Few weeks ago I bought brand new MacBook Pro (2012, 13"). After 12 cycles the battery health significantly decreased to 92%. Quite unexpected, isn't? Could you advise me what can be a problem? AC adapter, socket in my wall or something else?
To answer your questions, I did not put the battery below 10% during this time.

My MacBook Pro Retina keeps freezing up. It seems that it is happening more often as time goes on.
I first noticed that the track pad would freeze then whole computer would completly freeze.

For issues with video resolution not being consistent, I would start with resetting the NVRAM on your MacBook Pro. That will reset the resolution to its default as well as resetting other default settings like sound volume and start up volume. Take a look at the article below for more information about that and how to perform the NVRAM reset.

I leave mine plugged in when at a desk to avoid "cycling the battery". In fact after 32 cycles and 14 months, it still holds 101% of designed capacity.
I just remove it from AC power at least once a month and run it down to 40%.
Oddly ... when plugged in the battery will slowly discharge to 95% then recharge to 100% save over-using rechrge circuits.

ive been scrolling the internet for days and actually can't find the solution to my next problem:
I bought the new macbook pro 15" running mac osx 10.7.4.
now i want to install logic 9 on this computer. Before this i've already been using logic on two computers, my Mac Pro and my older macbook pro (2008).
I installed logic pro 9 as in upgrade to Logic pro 8.
Ive tried installing logic pro 8 on the new laptop but it wont let me, says the new macbookpro doesnt support this program anymore.
Now ive tried installing logic 9 on the new macbook pro and it wont allow me. It wont accept my product liscence, I've tried it a hundred times, but it just wont let me.
Im not planning on using the older laptop anymore, should i uninstall logic from it? If so... how come i can't find the location of the liscence?

The license says you can only install on one laptop and one desktop machine. Try uninstalling it from the old laptop and see if that fixes it. -
Why is my new macbook Pro 2012 running slow
I bought my Macbook pro a couple days ago, I have made all the updates to it and is now freezing and showing the pinwheel all the time. I ran this computer side by side with my old 2011 macbook pro and this "new" one is running much slower.

New Macbook Pro 2012 Battery health.
Hi all, hope you can give me some advice.
I purchased a New Macbook Pro 13" (2012 model) 3 weeks ago. It has now had 11 charge cycles and the battery health has dropped to 86%. I have gone through the calibration process, reset smc/pram but sitll seems to be dropping.
Is this normal, should i return it to apple and have the machine swapped, should i just leave it and if it gets worse get it repaired under apple care.
Intrestingly, Battery health states the battery is 9.3 months old, from the serial number of the mac I understand that that mac was made in 3rd week of october, I just wonder if that battery has been stood arround semi-charged for 9 months and this has damaged it.
Any help would be great, thanks
PaulI would make an appointment at your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them test the battery. My battery 'life' is right on the manufacturing week of my computer. Something's up with the battery - since you're still under warranty have it checked out now.

Macbook Pro (2012) keeps crashing
My new macbook pro (one month old) keeps crashing. I think I get a kernel panic, but I'm not sure. My "crashreporter" folder is empty despite my macbook having crashed several times, and I don't know why this is. I have an older mackbook pro circa 2009, i thought it died on me it just went completely black. I later found out just a bad battery i purchased a new one in the interim. Now that i have discovered the problem i bought an older time capsule and backed up the older macbook i now want to transfer my personal files to my new macbook pro to maintain one personal mackbook. How can i move the files from my time capsule to my newer macbook pro?
