New MacBook Pro on Haswell. Vt-d support?

The newly released MacBook Pro runs on Haswell processors, most of which support Vt-d/Vt-x. Does the Motherboard support Vt-d?
If not, does Apple have any plans to support this in the future?

I'd like to know how long the current model (with the 8600M graphics card) has been out for?
The last refresh to the MBP line was February 26, 2008.
Does anyone have an idea if there will be a new model coming out soon? Either just upgraded hardware or an entire new aesthetic?

BCA - New macbook pro - can't download windows support software

I've bought one of the new macbook pro retina 13" (with the force touchpad) and I'm trying to get windows 8.1 up and running via bootcamp.
However, i can't get the windows support software. Trying to download it via Boot Camp Assistant results in the message 'can't install the software because it is not currently available from the software update server'.
As a workaround to at least get windows installed (as directed from Apple support via chat) i downloaded the latest manually available software - Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640
this allowed me to install windows. However when windows finally booted i get the message 'this version of bootcamp is not intended for this computer model'. This also happens when i try and run the bootcamp software manaully within windows. i've also tried the support software 5.1.5621 which produces the same result.
Any ideas anyone? I get the impression the Apple server is either down, or they haven't yet put out the support software for the new macbooks.

Not on the Late 2013 MacBook Pro it's not. If you look at the specs, it clearly says that it's only a headphone out.

I purchased Huawei Dongle and trying to connect with my new MacBook Pro (OS- Mountain Lion) USB port 3.0 but unfortunately it does not support.
When I plugged in my macbook the power is flowing in dongle due green light blinking twice in every 3 sec but no connection found or diver shown.
Please let me know how I have to use it. I got some suggestion for USB hub 2.0 but It does not make any sense and driver installation.

Yes Clinton I did same, but they were (Huawei customer support) surprised about this problem, They behave like they have no idea about USB 2.0 and 3.0 knowledge. They handsUp that reason I posted my problem in this forum.
So is there any better solution to use any mediator between these USB version handling, Please let me know.

New Retina Macbook pro 15 Haswell loud fan?

I'm running a brand new 15" 2.3ghz 16gb, 500HD (of course shipped with Mavericks), anyway this sucker is LOUD, the fan fires up every time I do a photo import with Lightroom 5. My room-temperature is average and it's sitting on a cool table. I ran diagnostics and apparently there are no issues. Once the import is complete the fan shuts off after a minute or so. This is my first mac so maybe this is typical but I wasn't expecting an average task to push this power-horse and fire up it's fan so easily...... Love the machine otherwise.....

After a lot of frustration going to Geniuses, begging to go to level 2 tech support, and even calling on my Joint Venture membership Genius privileges, I had just returned the notebook for a new one, as I was in the 14-day return period.
My new MacBook Pro still experiences this issue, but it is not as intense or as troublesome.
That Apple has not discovered this issue makes me wonder how they test their computers. One would have thought that this would have been discovered long ago and dealt with in the latest software update.
My two MacBook Pro Retinas, MacBook Air, iMac, and Mac Mini ALL run harder, louder, and slower in Mavericks under the simplest tasks.
Again, the easiest test is to move a file from A to B, from the desktop to a folder.
This issue did not appear in Mountain Lion.

Logic 8 will probably run on your new machine but the installation program contains some older PPC code for pre Intel Macs. This was not a problem as all OSX versions contained the "Rosetta" PPC emulation, that is, up until Lion when all PPC emulation was dropped.
There are ways to do this however, try searching Google for: Installing Logic 8 under Lion or Mountain Lion.

I just bought new Macbook Pro 13" (April, 2010) and I want to connect my Macbook to AV receiver or home theater to decode DTS digital sound. Can I use the TOSLink cable (mini 3.5mm jack to Optical) with Macbook Pro 2010 audio out ? (My AV receiver does not have HDMI input but have Optica).

if you jump to 07:50 the dude clearly shows that it IS supported in PPRo CC (which I have), but when I go to the project settings on my new MBP 15" with identical specs, the area where I can select gpu support is greyed out with no options to change from software only. Did the expert guy in the video accidentally show the settings from his old NVIDIA MBP? Very confusing!! Also, there's a lot of publicity around the Intel Iris Pro's great ability to render Open CL with Adobe PPRo. And even a video about it here:

Is this only for PC?? If so I imagine Adobe can get this going on Mac pretty damn fast, no?

Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

Additional Information.
On my Mail Accounts setup it was set to "verizon.net" on incoming.
Now it faintly reads, "incoming.yahoo.verizon.net"
This came up automatically .... I did not do it and I cannot change it

New Retina Macbook pro 13 Haswell system hang/unresponsive

Hello Everyone.
I have just got my new macbook pro retina 13 Haswell (October Model). This is my second day of usage and i have encountered sudden system freeze for 2 times already. The keyboard and the trackpad stops working including brigtness keys and volume control keys. i have use apple hardware test but no problem are found.
Could anyone tell me what is going on or having the same issue?

Mine is also the new macbook pro Haswell.
I have been using my macbook for 2 days.
And I have encountered sudden freeze for 4 times!
The keyboard and the trackpad are unresponsive.
But actually the system is working and the apps are working.
And the power button can actually work.
So every time I met this problem,I long press the power button and make it restart.
And then everything is okay.
Somtimes ,if you wait for 10~15 min, the keyboard and the trackpad will start working again.
When the second time I met this problem, I decided to go to the apple store for help.
But after several mins, it works again.
It is very annoying that the system suddenly freeze when you are busy working on the documents.
And it causes damage that you force to shut down the macbook.
I think it is a software problem?
Hope Apple can release some updates to solve this problem soon!

Before you get too deeply into screen switching, you might take a look at what's probably the longest thread in the Apple Communities. Then, try the Expert calibration mode in Display Preferences>Color to see if that helps.
