New MacBook Pro Unibody Jun 2011 - No Audio Device / No Output Device Installed. Please Help.

Dear All,
I have installed OSX Lion on the 20th July 2011 and the problem started with the audio device installed. Itunes wont even play and iDVD and you tube would work without audio. I have tried everything from system diagnostic re-booting back to original snow leopard on 10.6.7 including taking it for service. The audio works intermittently when I re-start my MacBook but eventually disappears back to square one. Until restarted again.
I am still under my 90 days from purchase date and the problem is I am no longer in London where I originally purchased the MacBook from - I moved to Delhi, India with my family and they don't have geniuses here only local service/ technicians who already tried fixing the problem.
Very disappointed after spending nearly £1,600.00 for this.
I don't want to go back to the local service centre for them to restart my MacBook to prove audio device is working.
Is there any other option for me like refund or replacement?

I have updated latest iTunes 10.4.1(10) 64 bit.
I have updated latest OSX Lion: 10.7.1 Build 11B26
Still the problem occurs. When laptop restarts the sound stays for 5-10 min before shutting down intermittently. In iTunes the music will not even run - other applications such as YouTube - it will run but no sound.
I have tried everything now and I am certain it must be a software connected issue I am experiencing only.
Please can you help.

I would say that odds are high that you have a bad cable. Maybe that is why they returned it.
I would suggest trying a different firewire cable.
You can find Firewire cables inexpensively at monoprice.com. You need a 4 pin to 9 pin firewire cable.

Other things to check:
Is your camera plugged in to wall power (not to batteries only). Must be hooked to an AC power source to import.

Wi-fi problems in me new macbook pro 13 late 2011

hallo aim having problems with the wi-fi in me new macbook pro 13 late 2011, it seams to always be log on and off and i can't get a stabled connections other divides in the house work fine with the wifi(pc etc..)

If the MBP was purchased within the last year take it to the Apple store
or contact Apple. There are few threads in this site dealing with the same issue.
There is no single sure shot step to correct this problem.
May be you can go through those discussions and find a solution.

Does the new Macbook Pro 13" support TOSLink cable (audio out)

I just bought new Macbook Pro 13" (April, 2010) and I want to connect my Macbook to AV receiver or home theater to decode DTS digital sound. Can I use the TOSLink cable (mini 3.5mm jack to Optical) with Macbook Pro 2010 audio out ? (My AV receiver does not have HDMI input but have Optica).

I have searched many forums and posts here and there, but no where got the perfect solution, also most of the places people are misxing the problems with other problems.
My Problem: I am not able to see even Sovy TV in my MBP display page, and hence not able to connect to Sony Bravia to my MBP.
What I am using: Macbok pro 13 June 2011, Lion 10.7.2, Sony Bravia 40EX550, DVI Mini Adaptor for Mac (at one side DVI male connector and other side female HDMI connector) and one HDMI cable (the cable which comes with my DTH provider both ends are for Male HDMI pin)
I do not think i would require anything more in this.
Now after connecting with Adaptor to my MBP i connected the other end to HDMI cable which was already connected to HD TV HDMI port (there are 4 ports and i tried all the ports)
When i opened the System Pref -> Displays I got below screen
Here in above screen I clicked on Detect Displays but nothing happens, actually it should detect the Sony Tv and there on I sohuld do some settings.
Please any one can help on that. Sorry for this repeated kind of problem , but I have searched in many forums and here on discussion.apple.com also , but evywhere people are mixing 2 different problem into one, some people are not getting the display and few of them not event getting the detection of the HDTV. So I posted here for the later one.

Right now your MBP is not recognizing the TV. You should get a display in SYSTEM PREFERENCES>DISPLAYS similar to this. Note the 'Arrangement option in the menu bar. Your connections are bad or you have a faulty cable and/or adapter.
I assume you are using a MINI DISPLAY PORT/HDMI adapter, not a DVI adapter.

Hi since i updated to Mountain Lion, my Macbook pro 15" (december 2011) only works for 3 hours instead of 5 hours with Lion.
I've been waiting for 6 months now a release from Apple to fix this. Are you planning to do something for users like me?

New macbook pro, safari won't open and repair disk permissions did nothing to help

Safari starts, blue bar moves about an inch in search bar, then stops. Then nothing. Tried repairing disk permissions to no avail. Safari still doesn't open. Whatever os x that is installed on new macbook pro's, since just bought on Sunday 10-14-12, is the operating software. The apple store there is no user manual. Strange. So here we are on another, older macbook pro, able to go on internet and see what answers or diagnoses others have tried and trued.

3 days old?, just pack the machine up and tell them you want another one, that this one is a lemon.
They will likely take your word for it and just give you another rather than you demand your money back instead.
If you wait too long then they say you should have brought it back sooner, now have to wait until it's fixed, only to give you more problems later.

On my new macbook pro (15-inch retina, OS X Mavericks), I can't install anything.

I recently got a new macbook pro with os x mavericks. Everything works perfectly, except that whenever I try to install anything from the internet (Adobe Flash Player), it tells me that the package is damaged and I should eject the disk image file. Any .dmg's I open show the same error message.

the most common cause of that message is an incomplete download. For example, try downloading the standalone Flash Player installer from here. If it doesn’t run on your MacBook Pro, what size is the downloaded disk image file?

I just bought a new MacBook Pro (17") June 1

and today, June 5, new models are out.
Is there anyway I can return/exchange this for the new model (I bought it at an Apple store)? I would have preferred a 1920x1200 screen had it been available at the time - had no idea a new version was on the way.
Other than the 1920 LCD, am I missing out on much? 2.33-2.4 ghz is no biggy, same 2gb ram, same HD.. is a Geforce 8600 much better than the Radeon 1600 I have currently (both have 256mb)?

I also purchased this weekend the "older" model and I'm dissapointed. The vendor should have informed me that a new model was released a few days later. I have sent a mail this evening asking to exchange to the new model that seems more powerfull and ... cheaper.
It's my first Mac, not a good start.
I still have faith in Apple and I hope we both can exchange our old "model"

People with new Macbook Pro Unibody

Guys,
I have had my unibody Macbook pro for about 3 weeks now and was ecstatic with it until now.
I have just realised how cosmetically weak it is on the top surfaces.
Woke up this morning to find a 3 mm dent in my top surface I can only presume this came from a remote that I found next to it that had dropped onto it as I left it open doing updates.
Im very very annoyed with this and will be taking it to Apple as this would not of happened on my old Macbook Pro
Just more of the old buyer beware!

As of yet I haven't had any real time to contact Apple regarding this, but from what I have found on the internet I doubt Apple are going to do any of this for free!
I love my macbook pro, its such a great machine and one of the best macs i've ever owned, yet with this problem its going to be so hard trying to avoid getting dints and dents into it.
Does anybody know of a email to apple customer services as I have prepared a letter and want to send it in via email?

On a second point, I was lucky enough that by using some manipulation techniques I managed to straighten the dent to some extent as it was in the section of where the battery sits below so by taking the battery out and putting some pressure on using some tools I managed to get it roughly straight, although its still going to annoy me!!

Macbook Pro Unibody Early 2011 seems to keep hanging up in Firefox and other apps like VLC, Quicktime, etc. Recently loaded gfxcardstatus app and then deleted it using CleanApp app.

Macbook Pro 13 Early 2011 (8.1 , i7 2.7 , 4GB Ram) FREEZEING HELP PLEASE !

My macbook pro keeps freezing . PLEASE READ and HELP if you can !
The Problem started before 6 months and still no fix or any clue why it happens
i mostly using my mac to play music with program called Traktor
first time it happened it was after updating to Os X Lion (all versions have this issue 10.7.**)
(only used leopard for 5 days then i bought Lion)
then updating to Os X Mountain Lion currently 10.8.2 still freezeing
i called apple support they told me its a software issue and gave me some advices
fixed permission , deleted startup items , updated traktor to latest version , updated all drivers and mac to latest still problem
clean install leopard then lion still problem
resseting SMC still problem
updating to Mountain Lion still problem
i also run apple hardware test all pass
the cpu temperatures are around 65c to 70c when it happens
hard disk has 220 GB free of 500 GB
(also sometimes it doesnt boot its stuck on apple logo but its moving after i close it and open again from the switch
it opens , the first time it was after updating to Mountain Lion)
any help whould be very appreciated !!!!

My macbook pro won't connect to the internet. Tried everything? Please help ...

Although both Airport and ethermet connection seem to be fine (green indication in network diagmostics) and all other computers in the house will connect to the net just fine, my macbook pro will not. I have reset the router several times, restarted the macbook, tried to remove airport, I have run all diagnositics, created new networks etc etc.
What happens is that during network diagmostics, airport and wifi settings appear green, while network turns yellow and stays yellow.
When i go into the advanced network settings menu under tcp/ip, there is an ipv4 address as well as a subnet mask address, but nothing after router:
All other macs in the house (e.g. my girlfriend's nearly identical kmacbook pro) show up the router as 192.168.1.1
My settings are in Norwegian, so I am translating what i read on the screen - please bear with me ...
