Hi i bought a Macbook Pro 8 & a half mounths ago.Today i had the hard drive replaced as it was faulty and on Monday i have to take it back to the Apple shop to have the Motherboard replaced. I feel that i should be asking for a new macbook, where do i stand.

Yes thats what i thought but i only have 77 days left on my garentee so its a worry, and have to drive 1 hour to get to closest Apple shop, spent the whole day there today when i should have been at work and have to make the drive again on Monday Then back again next Friday to pick it up. I paid over £1000 ponds for this computer so wouldnt expect it to have its insides replaced befor a year. Feel very let down, and no longer love my macbook pro.

  • My external hard drive doesn't wont let me save with my new MacBook Pro, I could save with my old one but not with my new one.

Ok so I recently got a new MacBook Pro and my external hard drive will let me see what I have on it but wont let me save. It worked fine with other MacBook Pro's with snowleperd but dosen't seem to work with my Mountian Lion.

    Open Disk Utility
    Select the external drive
Then read the parameters for that drive

  • The file "Acceptance Letter.pages" doesn't exist. Since installing Yosemite on MacBook Pro I cannot save or export from Pages. Just get the message at beginning of this post. How to solve problem?

I cannot save or export from Pages since installing Yosemite on MacBook Pro . I just get the message at beginning of this post “Acceptance Letter.pages” doesn’t exist or whatever file title I have inserted How to solve problem?

Thanks Peter but I was not seeking to store with I-Cloud. In fact I never store documents with I-cloud.
I was in fact trying to store the files to Documents, which is where I usually keep such things.
Have now discovered that if I leave the file untiled and simply close it, rather than saving it then it will save, oddly, to Documents. I then have to re-title it and move to the folder I want it in.
Despite the above, even once it is titled and saved in Documents then if I reopen it I still cannot then Export it to a Word or PDF file. I still just get the message . xxxxxx.pages does not exist!
Bad news as I am constantly exporting documents to Word and PDF to send to others who do not use a Mac

  • New macbook pro safari won't open Apple support pages!

It is so odd.  I can open every other site in Safari EXCEPT the Apple Support pages!  It's a brand new Macbook Pro.  Any ideas???

To clarify, it looks like if I search something via Google it won't let me see any of those support page results.  It does work via a Yahoo search, but no Googlel

  • Missing in Action: An easy "Save As" option in Pages

On the chance that some of the software developers for Pages may read this:  Please, please, when you upgrade Pages 5, restore the "Save As" option in the File menu.  I'll spare you the details about how I need to use that at least 50 times in a row each month when I update all of my patient's bills, but I hope you can appreciate what a pain it is to have to hold down 2 keys at once, while at the same time selecting an option from the file menu.  I would never have bought Pages if I'd known you'd eventually make this change.  Ok. Rant over.  Thanks for listening...

There is no guarantee that any Apple engineers or other employees read these forums.
But you don't need an update to restore Save As… It was returned to almost all Apple apps with the release of Mountain Lion, OS X 10.8. Hold down the Option/alt key while clicking the File menu & there it is. You can also try this solution by TUAW to permanently change the keyboard combination.

  • I have an Iphone with one Apple ID and have just bought a new macbook where I have created a different apple id (its complicated!!) how do I syc the calendar on Macbook with iPhone, bearing in mind the different IDs

I have an Iphone with one Apple ID and have just bought a new mac book pro. How can I syn calendar from mac book with Iphone if the two devices have different apple IDs?

No not bothered about sycing apps etc it is all about calendars and maybe notes. IN terms of how its done I just want it the easiest way and preferably so that if an entry is made on one calendar then it populates the other.
Thgius is beacuse I have my work diary on outlok, which I then link with my ical. I want to make sure that information is then shared with her.

  • Where is the "Save Frame" option in Vewrsin 4 that used to exist in Version 3?

    Was this feature deleted?

It was removed from the File menu ''(along with some other menu items to clean up that menu)'', but it is still in the Contextual Menu, in the '''This Frame''' sub menu.
Right-click the Frame you want to save and select This Frame > '''Save Frame As...'''

  • New MacBook air - my safari will not open up pages

safari will not open up pages and icons in the App Store are little boxes with ? In it also my photos are squares with a cloud

On the Mac air look along the top. You will see a section for "develop". look in that list. Make sure the button is NOT clicked that says something about no images.  Sorry mine has been fixed now and I had them hide my develop option.

  • New Macbook Pro set up is stuck on iCloud Drive upgrade screen

I am setting up a new macbook pro and have chosen the option to upgrade to iCloud Drive. After choosing to continue with that option, the spinning ball has been active for quite sometime. Is this normal? I am afraid to force restart as it is a brand new computer.

I had the same issue.  I logged in & registered the device SN (several other devices (SN's) are already associated with the account).  I don't know if this is simply coincidental or not, but as soon as I did that the new mac book pro continued into setup & eventually finished booting up & is now apparently pulling in user/account settings.  I still have to confirm the iCloud Drive setup, but so far at least it moved on past the 'spinning wheel.'

  • Will everything be copied to a new Macbook Pro from my old computer?

Will all things like documents and stuff that i have on my PC laptop, transfer to a new macbook? How about save game data? For example, if i have games on my PC, will i have to beat them all over again on my Mac?

  • Internet not Working on New Macbook Pro

I just got a new macbook pro. Whenever I open safari the page wont load and the beach ball of terror comes up and I have to force quit. I have ethernet access and it says it's connected but none of the internet features are working. I tried to connect through wifi and that isn't working either. Help?

You don't have a virus.  That isn't an issue for Macs.
There are a whole bunch of reasons why you're not connected to the internet through your router.  We'll need more info about your router and MacBook Pro.  It's impossible to guess as to your issue without more info.

  • Transfering old emails onto new Macbook Pro ?

On my old white macbook there are lots of old emails that I wish to keep for various reasons. How can i transfer these onto my new Macbook Pro so they sit in the email page (running in classic mode) above the new mail ? ie all the old is in email, new messages at the bottom, older above.
    Hope this makes sense ?
    Cheers
    Brian.

I am using the normal Apple -mail on both laptops.
    Cheers

  • New MacBook Pro with Retina pre-installed pages, keynote & numbers. Can I get them for free on my iMac?

I've just bought a new MacBook Pro Retina which comes pre installed with pages, keynote and numbers. If i want to get them on my iMac will i have to pay for them?

No, sign into the Mac App Store on your new computer with the same Apple ID and the Mac App Store should offer you the download at no cost in your Purchased apps section.
I guess the rub would be if you didn't have the apps pre-installed to the correct Apple ID account.
