New MacMini and small touchscreen compatibility...

I'm trying to find either the correct (updated?) driver for a Lilliput 889GL-80NP/C/T touchscreen monitor (to be used with a new MacMini (2.0 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 / 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM running OS 10.7.3)...
...or a comparable small touchscreen monitor that will work with this new MacMini.  I'm looking at the Lilliput 869GL-80NP/C, but have so far been unable to determine if the touchscreen capabilities are functional with this computer.  Any ideas?  Anyone using a small touchscreen monitor with a newer MacMini?
The Lilliput 889GL-80NP/C/T works fine with my older MacMini (1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo / 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running OS 10.4.11), but with the same driver, I can't seem to get it to work properly with the new one (x/y axis weirdness) and the "TouchKit" app I use with the older MacMini doesn't seem to function with the new Mini either.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks,

Yes, I've actually been in contact with Lilliput (UK) and hope to hear back from them soon -- I was just wondering if anyone else had similar issues, and had found a solution.  Traditionally, Lilliput has provided products (and support) intended primarily for Windows based systems... however, I've been using their touchscreen monitors with my MacMini for years, and as I understand it, their Mac compatibility is increasing... that said, I wonder how easy (or difficult) Apple will make it for other vendors' touchscreens to play nice with their stuff.  I can almost hear the, "I'm sorry, you'll need to buy an iPad" mantras being practiced at Apple.  Anyhow, we shall see...

    Sign out in System Preferences>iCloud. This will remove any synced data such as Calendars, emails and Contacts from your Mac, but will have no effect on the data on the server - so that other devices logged into it will continue to see the data.

  • New MacMini and Linux

    I'm trying to get Linux to install on my new MacMini but the monitor driver doesn't not appear to be correct. I've tried Edubuntu and Mint so far. Each time the installation will proceed until the monitor stops and goes into sleep mode because the Mini isn't sending a signal. I've tried both the analog and digital (HDMI) monitor outputs.
    I know the new Mini is very new and is significantly upgraded. Has Linux not caught up yet?
    The graphics card is a NVidia GeForce 320M
    Does anyone have this kind of setup working?

    Thanks for the suggestion. The issue is that I can't get Ubuntu or Mint installed (the screen goes dark long before the install is completed) so updating the nvidia driver for Linux isn't possible. nVidia doesn't post Mac drivers so that's not an option either.
    I'm trying to set this up as a triple-boot (Mac, Windows 7, and Linux). I've done this many times on other Macs but am stuck on this Mac Mini. This is a training lab and I need all of these operating systems in their native environment (not through Parallels or similar).

  • New MacMini and security lock

    Looking at the new MacMini, I was pretty excited to see that it now has HDMI. However, I can not see any hole for a security lock. Did Apple forget that or is it hidden somewhere ? I am looking to buy this for usage in a public room and with that size, a security lock is quite imperative.

    When I prepared to upgrade the RAM in my new Mini, the first thought that came to mind was "where's the Kensington security slot?" I proceeded to search every square inch of the computer for some kind of security measure and was stunned when I found nothing.
    This, in combination with the increased starting price, is definitely not helpful with encouraging more Macs in kiosk situations. That said, less than $75 to secure the computer (presuming that's what the security device ends up selling for) isn't enough to be a deal breaker.
    Despite the likeliness of a third-party solution, Apple should not have left off this important security feature. Even though the slot would not protect against RAM removal, it is still essential to preventing the loss of property.

  • New Macmini and older Cinema Display

    I just bought a new Macmini for my wife and tried to connect it with her LED Cinema Display that has no Thunderbolt. Although the manual says you can plug in the Mini Displayport connector tot the Thunderbolt outlet on the Mini, I only get sount, but no image on the display. Familiat to anyoone?

    Check your Displays system preferences.  If the display is detected at all you will see an Arrangement tab.  If not, there is something physically wrong.  Make sure the mini-displayport plug is firmly seated.  Click the Detect Displays button also to be sure.
    If you do have an arrangment tab then click Gather Windows to get the Display's preferences on your main window.  Then play with the resolution, and if there is a refresh rate, fiddle with it as well.

  • I just bought a new MacMini and Iweb is nowhere to be found?

    I bought a macmini last week. At the bottom of my screen I have garageband, imovie, itunes,iphoto, and Idvd. No Iweb. I checked in applications and no Iweb. I checked in the finder and spotlight and their is no iweb.
    Is this normal that a brand new computer not have this preinstalled?
    Should I talk to the people at apple about this.

    What's the version number of the other apps? Is this a brand new system (the ones released recently)? If it's not there, perhaps you can install it from the discs that came with your computer, though, I do think it shows there on new computers.

  • New MacMini and Mitsubishi WD-65733

    I have just recently purchased a Mitsubishi WD-65733, i hooked my mini up using DVI/HDMI converter and cable to it right when I plugged in the tv and it worked until i adjusted my resolution to the highest settings and now the tv shows no picture. I can restart my mini and the apple logo comes up during startup but then it goes out again. I recently had the mini hooked up to a 26" Emerson lcd tv and worked just fine but my roommate moved out and took it with him. I have no clue how to solve this any help would be great

    It won't work to lower the resolution while connected to a different monitor and then plug in the TV. Mac OS X remembers all the monitors it has connected with, past and present, and uses whatever were the last settings for that monitor. So, for example, if the mini is outputting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 to the TV, and then you hook up a monitor and set the resolution to something like 1024 x 768, when you plug the TV in again, it will just revert to 1920 x 1080.
    Something to try would be to start the mini in Safe mode while it is connected to the TV. That should give you a useable screen again. If it does, go into Displays preferences and set the resolution to the highest resolution that you know works with the TV. Then restart normally. It should now come up in that last set resolution and you can start experimenting again to try and set the resolution you desire.

  • New MacMini - connect to my beamer via miniDVI to DVI to Video ?!

    Hi, i baught some days ago a new macmini and today after long discussions in an apple-shop adapters from miniDVI to DVI and DVI to Video (S-Video option) to connect it to my already installed beamer for DVD and SAT-Receiver BUT it does NOT work - no signal !
    Any experiences how to handle this situation & how to solve ?????

    Have you already setup the HDMI input at the TV in the HDTV  menu?
    It isn't a matter of using a proper channel.
    You don't hold the P key.
    Hold the Windows key down and tap the P key to see the available projection options.

  • Can't do a fresh install on my new MacMini!

    Hello... After trying out my new MacMini and installing software and all I decided to make a fresh new installation of the OS. Unfortunately when i put the dvd in and boot from there or run the installer and the computer restarts it always gets stuck at the "Stars" or "space" screen and does not continue with the installation. Waited for about 30 minutes but nothing... Have tried this many many many frustrating times. Some info about the configuration of the computer.
    -The MacOS dvd's are the ones that came with the computer.
    -The computer is set up with a logitech cordless desktop keayboard and mouse but tried it also with a normal USB mouse and keyboard and the same thing happened.
    - Got an external disk connected with firewire cable but also i disconnected it when trying to do the clean install
    - Also i had the network cable removed as well in case it affected the fresh installation..
    - Checked the hard drive permissions etc as well...
    Could someone help as it really bugs me and somehow i expected these things to be easier on a MAC...

    I do not understand what you mean by this. The Apple Hardware Test does not start up with the "Aurora" space desktop background but instead displays a very minimal all-blue background & a window that is essentially all text except for a few tabs & a progress bar. You do not seem to be running the AHT but something else, probably just the regular startup disk's copy of Leopard.
    If so, (& your other comments suggest this) it seems likely that your difficulties involve some incompatibility with your keyboard that prevent it from sending the startup key combinations to the Mac at startup time. Your best bet is to try using an Apple branded, wired keyboard to test for this. If your friend does not have one, you may be able to take the Mac to the store you purchased it from & use one of their keyboards for the test.

  • Installing Mavericks on new MacMini

    Hey I just received my new MacMini and want to install Mavericks because Yosemite won't let me use the Final Cut Server work around that I use. But when I want to install Mavericks I keep getting a message that it can't be installed on my system. In the system requirements it just says "
    Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)". Has anyone also had this problem? Thanks Lilian

    Mavericks is too old to run on that Mac, except inside a product such as VirtualBox, Parallels Desktop, or VMware Fusion.

    I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all  the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!

    Anything before CC is not high-DPI compatible. Feel free to continue to experiment with your system settings.

What's I'm trying to do is take 20 cells in a column,  find the 10 lowest numbers, then get the average and after that multiply it by .96  I used to use Excel and the formula worked fine in that. Here is my Formula
    =(average(small(H201:H220,{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10})))*.96
    This formula worked in Excel and when I converted my spreadsheet over to Numbers, this formula no longer works.
    The best that I have been able to do so far is use small in 10 different cells, then get the average of the 10 cells and finally multiply that average by .96  So instead of using 1 cell, I'm using 12 cells to get my answer.
    This is a formula that I will be using all the time. The next cell would be =(average(small(H202:H221,{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10})))*.96
    Hoping I explain myself well enough and that someone can help me.

    You can still do it in one cell but it will be more unruly than the Excel array formula.
    =average(small(H201:H220,1),small(H201:H220,2),small(H201:H220,3),...,small(H201:H220,10))*0.96
    where you would, of course, replace the "..." with the remaining six SMALL functions.

I have now checked the storage, freed up 766MB, how can i not sync (and get everything i've just deleted back) but upload the required tunes? All help appreciated, many thanks x x x
