iPods and other iDevices are not backup or storage devices.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder (and all other desired data) from the old computer to the new computer.

You must surely be able to add and subtract songs on specific playlist?

I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file. This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings. Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus. That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.

Since purchasing a new iPhone 5 and macbook pro with retina display I have decided to keep the iPhone 5 for phone contacts only, and the macbook for email contacts only .. Is there a way for me to keep these as they are recorded on each apple product when I sync with iTunes as it has changed my iPhone and put in email contacts and thus deleted iPhone phone contacts once when I syncd thanks appreciate any help

To prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you plug it in, click on iTunes in the menu bar, then preferences, then "devices", then tick "prevent iPhones, iPad's and iPod's from syncing automatically".
Plug it in, then on the iPhone sync summary screen, click "info" along the top.
Make sure the "sync contacts" option is not ticked. as long as it's not ticked, then it won't sync with your mac's contacts but will still include them in backups.
Also, if you use iCloud, make sure that the iPhone/mac are either not signed into the same account, or that "contacts" is not turned on for both of them

I do not want to upgrade to 7.0, I am attending online college and the upgraded version does not work with my school. How can I stop Firefox from upgrading? I have to keep uninstalling the upgrade and installing the old one.

It's not a good idea to allow websites to redirect to another site until you know for sure the original site is trustworthy.
But if you still want to do it (again not a good idea).
Tools>Options>Advanced>General - In Accessibility, uncheck "warn me when web sites try to redirect..." option.

Although possibly not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. After "Replace with clip" the original clip can not be deleted from the project - why?

After using "replace with clip" to replace clip A in the timeline with a new clip B , clip A can not be deleted from the project anymore.
If you try to delete clip A, you get a warning, that it still has references in one or more sequences.
If you continue and delete clip A, it seems to be deleted - at first!
Unfortunately if you save and reopen the project, clip A is restored to folder "Recovered clips".
It's not possible to really delete it.
I also did not find a way to unlink clip B from A .
The only thing you can do, is to revert the change by "Restore Unrendered" in the clip context menu. But that's obviously not helping
I dont know if this is a bug or a feature. I understand, that it can be useful to undo the "replace clip" function, but why would anyone not want to be able to delete the original clip at all?
help how to fix this problem is greatly appreciated!

I'm sure it has nothing to to with other sequences.
You can easily reproduce this behaviour:
1. create a new project
2. import 2 clips and name them "A" and "B"
3. put "A" in the timeline
4. ALT-drag "B" over "A" in the timeline (or right-click "A" in the timeline while selecting "B" in the project files and select "replace with clip ... from bin")
5. delete "A" from the project files
6. save and close project
7. reopen project
=> "A" reappears in "Recovered clips" and can not be deleted.

Yes. You can either set up your new iPad from a back-up of your old iPad, or you can select any apps bought via iTunes to be installed into the new iPad. If you go with the restore, everything like levels and the like on games is restored too. If you install fresh, then some things don't come over, even though you've loaded the apps.

I cannot open a pdf file with aol e-mail. I went to preferences in Adobe Reader but did not know what to enter for Incoming IMAP and outgoing SMTP. I can open pdf files from windows explorer as I have associated .pdf files with adobe reader. My operating system is windows 7.
When I try to open the pdf file within aol e-mail I get a message: 'Your security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded'. I have not changed my security settings (Tools, Internet Options, security).

Go to Settings, Safari, and then reset the Cookies, reset the Cache, and reset the History. Then turn the iPad off and on again.

I can't receive Video Invites to Ichat with my friend and They can't see them from me.

Ive gotten Ichat and Only have one friend in my contact list (Only friend who has a Mac)
We are both using a MacBook Pro 13" with Lion OSX (I think, The newest software available from Apple)
Anyway back to the point, We cannot seem to recieve invites from one another. Our WebCam Light goes on when we try to send an invite or press that Green Camera button, But we cannot accept or see eachother. We can still chat using messages though. But we want to Video call.
Also My internet does not have a password if this makes any difference. Its just like Wifi.
We both have AIM Accounts and also made a Yahoo account just for experimental purposes only. It still doesn't work either way. Dont know whats wrong.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
You should both enable UPnP as the method ot open ports in your routing device.
If your router Blocks Pings from the Internet you should also disable this (ichat sends s ping to confirm where the visible Invite went to is the place that is replying)

New TC as router locking-up with high data steams

I bought a new 1TB Time Capsule to replace the router (wireless) supplied by my ISP because I thought it might be faster and would of course provide a way to back up all my data. Set up was flawless. Then it really started acting up. When we started streaming a video it would play well then it would stop. I'd go over to the TC and it would be flashing amber. The Airport Utility - that I set up on my Windows Vista PC - would pop up and say "the device is reporting problems". I would have to go through the set up process and things would be normal again for a while. I eventually just had to put the old wireless router back on. I've been reading how to use the Time Capsule as a wireless device without using it as the router, but still be able to use it for back up but I don't understand. So, first, why wouldn't work as a router w/o so many probs. 2nd, how can I use it for more than a $300 paper weight?

It was a surprisingly simple solution that Apple was able to help me with via their "Express Lane" service. I only needed to change channels in the 2.4 GHz band (left the 5 GHz channel only). Restarted after a couple of things they helped me tune-up, and my TC has not had a single hiccup since. Thanks Apple.

Transparent, gray film covers screen with scary restart message - how do I stop this from happening??

Occasionally, I am interrupted when a transparent grat film comes down covering the screen, accompanied be s black box with the message that I need to restart the computer. The message is written in several different languages. There is NOT an Apple icon, but there is a power button icon with the message. What is this and how can I get it to stop happening? I have 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro. Thank you!!
