New mail is hi-lighted on the left column folder. Some appear in blue some black bold. Can you control this color ?

With the latest Thunderbird upgrade , I'm seeing some changes without me actually changing anything. The new mail hi-lighting seems to have a mind of it's own and I'd really like to be able to control that. Either force it to one color globally or actually have 'serious' new mail be hi-lighted with red bold. Version is 31.6.0.
Please advise.

Mail that you have not "seen" as if views in the list has the folder blue. mail that is unread in the folder is bold no unread mail is normal text. There is nothing mysterious about it.

I just downloaded Firefox 4 and i had a problem about my Norton spy-ware toolbar not being compatible, but anyway the most important thing that makes me pick Firefox over any other web browser is that i am able to save tabs and then exit. I think this was the greatest things because i could leave turn my laptop off and save power and when i got back i cold resume what i as doing. My question is just will you ever have this save tabs and exit function again or at least a way people would turn the function on by will.

This started today when I was prompted to re-enter incoming mail server passwords. I re-entered passowrds yet again to make sure they were correct. Rebuilt the inBox. I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). The footer is not only to the left. To get the page number to the right you can use Format > Align right. That will make all page numbers move to the right. Is that what you want?

If I understand correctly you are going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Add Account but that last option is not usable because it is gray. In testing this for you, I was able to reproduce this by enabling Restrictions and denying Account Changes. You can configure that with this article:

IF you change the view of the left column to "Bookmarks" or "Favorites" this is what will be shown rather than "History".
There is no way to prevent this column from being shown but it can be dismissed by touching the "Book" icon at the top-left of the screen.

Red light to the left of the receiver of the iPhone 5

I had my iPhone 5 replaced at the weekend for a speaker issue, but I noticed today when using the replacement in a dark room, I can see a glowing red light to the left of the receiver. I did a search, of course, which brought up results concerning the iPhone 4 and that it's the proximity sensor and not something to worry about. But I also saw this "eHow" article that says it's because the phone's been exposed to water:

Earlier today I was using the phone when it started raining, so I quickly wiped it against my sweater and put it in my inside jacket pocket. I didn't think that would be enough to cause any damage to the phone and the phone is working fine, but now I'm a bit worried, having not noticed the light before.

That's one of the most absurd things I've ever read...the light is part of the proximity sensor. The sensor is an infrared light that can appear red when viewed through the front glass in a very specific way in the dark (the glass distorts the infrared light enough to make it very weakly visible). This is totally normal and nothing to worry about. The water sensors are round white stickers in certain locations on and in the iPhone. When they get wet they turn red and do NOT turn back. The sensors wouldn't be very useful if they changed back when the phone dried...

There's no new mail indication for subfolders if the folder is collapsed.

I have subfolders under other folders. If I get email for a subfolder when the upper-level folder is collapsed, there's no indication at the upper-level folder that there's new email. Folders that are subordinate to the inbox are highlighted when new email arrives.

With Inbox collapsed, after reading the 'unread' message in Inbox, the bold number is removed, but the 'Inbox' itself is still in bold alerting me to the fact that more emails are unread in sub folders.

Also I had to get a new iPhone & so I backed up the night before to the cloud & my computer. When I tried to restore from back up with the new phone my back up wasn't there - shouldn't it be automatic via wifi from the cloud?

Thanks for the reply Brenden. However the problem is:
     At the very bottom of the "Mailboxes" screen (where I've got 6 email addresses that do work) there is on the far right (bottom right corner) an icon to compose a new message.
     In the center of that space is a generated message that says: 1) "downloading x of y" and 2) when finished downloading it says "Updated on 9/26/14." today is 11/6/14!
     My problem is that that date hasn't changed since I upgraded to iOS 8.1. The emails are current, but that date isn't!
Can you help?

right-click or control-click on the mailbox account you want to back up in Mail, in the box on the left under MAILBOXES.
select Export Mailbox...
pick a destination for the backup folder
