New MBA in Apple Retail store in NY

Hi Guys, I'll be travelling to NY the coming week and would be interested in purchasing the new MBA 13" in the Apple store in 5-th Avenue or Soho store.
I would be interested in buying the 2.13/4GB/256GB version.
Can anyone who have been in any of these 2 stores confirm that this model can be purchased there?
Thank you.

  • What does an Apple Retail Store charge to migrate files from an old laptop to a new one?

I'm about to buy a new MacBook Pro. What does the Apple Retail Store charge to migrate my files from the old laptop to the new one?

If the old laptop is a Mac, the Apple store will sell you a Firewire cable that will allow you to transfer the data from the old one to the new.
    Ciao.

Apple does not provide SIM cards, carriers do.
Go to your carrier and get a SIM card.  Whether it is free or not is up to them.

  • I could not get my iPhone 5 which purchased in Australia repaired by apple in the US. Guys from apple retail store verified a replacement for me and asked to call apple care. However, apple care said they cannot get it fixed nor repaired.

My iPhone 5 got some defects and I went to a apple reatil store yesterday. The guy from the genius bar told me that he verified a replacement for me. And I need to call 1-800-apple care to finish that process. I called apple care and one of the senior supervisors told me that I have to send it back to Australia (where I bought this iPhone) to get it repaired. Turns out I could not solve the problem after a apple store vist and several calls. I just want to know if there any way to solve this. This iPhone is a factory unlocked one that purchased in an apple retail store in Melbourne at the day it was first released. And my experience today is not what I can tell as fair. I will be really appreciate for any helps and advices. Thanks.

Warranty on iPhone is not international, but valid only in country of
original sale. Since you purchased the iPhone in Australia, your warranty
is valid only in Australia. You must either personally return the iPhone
to Australia for evaluation and possible replacement or sent it to someone
in Australia to take into Apple for the evaluation. Apple will not accept
international shipments for repair nor will Apple ship out of the country
    after replacement.
Sorry to be the bearer of this news, but it is the way iPhone warranty and
    replacement has always worked.

  • My iPhone 4S went into lock-up with a screen display image of USB connector pointing to iTunes logo. I took it to a Verizon store and they said I have a brick lock and that only an Apple retail store 50 miles away could clear it

My iPhone 4S went into lockup with a screen displaying an image of the USB connector pointing to the iTunes logo. I was traveling and took the phone to the closest Verizon store. The store informed me that I had a brick lock and that only an Apple retail store could unlock the phone. The Verizon store explained that they have seen this problem with SEVERAL other 4S users who had upgraded to the new iOS7 operating system and that to their knowledge it is too demanding to work on pre-iPhone 5S phones having a far less capable processor. The closest Apple store was 50 miles away in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. I went to that store three days later (today) to reset the phone before flying out of Philadelphia Intl. Airport. The Apple store personnel were overloaded and not sensitive to my plight. They told me that I would have to make a reservation for a time 2 hours later for tech support. I couldn't do that without missing my flight - out of luck until I get back to Los Angeles. If the Verizon store explanation is true, Apple needs to accommodate 4S and earlier generation users and not force them to upgrade to a $459 iPhone 5S!

The salesperson at Verizon has no clue what their saying.
My 4S and many of my friends works perfectly fine on IOS 7.3, no issue as all.

  • Case flaw - Very Disappointed by Apple Technicians at Apple Retail Store

IIn the last month I have purchased approximately $12,000 worth of Apple computers all with AppleCare.
Among them is an Apple MacBook Pro 15" Glossy (S/N: RM8193*** <Edited by Moderator>), which is the subject of this posting. When it arrived I felt that the bottom half its case was mildly flawed. To be precise:
    i) The left speaker grill is slightly bubbled;
    ii) There is a more than acceptable gap between the keyboard bezel just left of the left speaker grill and the bottom case;
iii) All visible case screws (4 on the left, 4 on the right, 2 on the back, and 4 on the bottom) are counter-screwed rather than flush. In addition, the screw heads look slightly indented, in my opinion due to a bad screwdriver.
This MacBook Pro was ordered on May 11, 2008 and was delivered on May 15, 2008. I reported the flaws and my concerns to AppleCare via telephone on May 19, 2008. The support representative apologized for my inconvenience and told me that he could set up an appointment for me to go to the store to see an Apple Genius. I told him I was unable to go immediately but perhaps next week. He further, advised me that I have AppleCare until May 2011 and that I could logon to the Apple website to setup an appointment.
Anyhow, yesterday (June 15, 2008) I went to the Apple retail store at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood (WA) and spoke to a technician, Jared, who told me that since I bought a refurbished MAcBook Pro (directly from Apple, might I add) there are going to be some flaws. Now if I had known about this in the very beginning, I probably would have spent another few hundred dollars to buy a brand new computer or might have insisted on exchanging back on May 19, when I discovered the flaws.
Hearing Jared made me a bit upset and I asked to see his supervisor. Lead Technician, Steven, came out inspected my MacBook Pro and told me that he believes that in his opinion everything looks within tolerance; though he agreed that the screws are slightly sunk-in (over-tightened). However, he declined to fix it stating that this is not a functional problem and more so an aesthetic issue. In my opinion, Apple products have a lot to do with aesthetics. If I wanted a functional notebook with low quality control I would have purchased Dells.
For my (your customer’s) satisfaction, I need you guys to replace the bottom case, the keyboard bezel and all case screws.
Hope to hear from you folks soon. It is a clear issue of Quality Control & Customer Relations.
    Thank you!

    Hi Omer;
You are NOT talk to Apple here. You are talking to other users just like yourself. So there is absolutely nothing we can do for you. I would suggest you call Applecare and ask to speak to Customer Support. They might be able to help you with your problem.

  • IPod Touch 4g Available 9/8/10 in Apple Retail Stores

I have called two Apple Retail stores here in the Maryland area this afternoon. Both of them confirmed that they will start selling the new iPod's tomorrow at store opening (10 AM Eastern). Both stores urged me to arrive early (Which I will). Just wanted to pass the info along. THE WAIT IS NEARLY OVER. YAY. Oh yeah, this is my first post too! Sweet.

The first store I called was Annapolis Mall in Maryland, which is in the United States. At first, they gave me the standard, we do not know when we will be selling them, but then the guy told me to hold on one second. Someone in the background said something to him and he came back on the line and said that they would begin selling them on Wednesday morning, and advised that I arrive early.
The second store I called was Towson Town Center. They told me that they would be selling the new iPod line on Wednesday, but they were a little uncertain as to whether they would have them by the time the store opened. They told me I should follow-up with them throughout the day. I called back a second time, and I was simply told that they would be in stock on Wednesday, but they had yet to see them in the store yet. That was around 5:00 Eastern time.
I will be heading over to the Towson store this morning with my fingers crossed. I think this process has been absolutely ridiculous though. How can a company as large and respected as Apple not be able to tell the consumer when one of their newest and highly anticipated iPod's will be available for purchase in their own store? Seems odd to me.

  • Is unlocked iphone from UK apple retail store the same as from online store

Today I bought an unlocked iphone 4 from my local UK Apple Retail store. I explained to the store assistant that as I work abroad for several months at a time I needed to be able to use my iPhone with both a UK carrier( not sure which one to go with yet), and a local carrier when in another country, therefore I wanted an unlocked sim free one. I bought the 16gig version and payed the full £499 for it, however, when I got home and looked at the receipt it also lists a "No Contract Sim" with a part number but with a unit price of £0.00.
So I am confused..! Is this the same as the sim free iphone available from the online store and can I use it with any carrier by swapping the sim card depending on my needs? Or, is this some other kind of sim card that will lock the phone once I activate it the first time. I had assumed that by paying the full price I was getting an unlocked sim free phone as described on the UK online store description. If it is not, I will need to return it and order one online.

The iPhone could be purchased at full price only at retail stores not online at least in US:
This FAQ can be found on the US site with a little digging (read on to know why digging was necessary)
"Is a new contract with AT&T required?
A new 2-year commitment with AT&T is required when starting your purchase online. Additionally, the Apple Retail Store offers a no-commitment iPhone for the full retail price."
This lines above are the info that you can read in a pop-up FAQ that will appear if you click on one nicely hidden FAQ link, reading: "Is a new contract with AT&T required?", located on the bottom left corner of the ordering process area.
What is misleading is that the FAQs on the landing page where users can select a 3GS or a 4, the FAQ for "Can I buy an iPhone without an AT&T contract?" is answered with a straight "No. iPhone requires a two-year AT&T wireless service contract." Such statement applies only to online store purchases and that's a piece of info that only a more careful, meticulous and OCD reader may find out since another FAQ tucked away elsewhere (read below) says you can buy iPhones at full price by going to any Apple Retail Store.
There is no way for me to give you a direct link to the other FAQ stating that, because it's accessible only during a purchasing session, therefore you'll have to go through the few steps below if you want to read that FAQ by yourself:
    1) Go to the online store,
    2) Select the iPhone image to start the buying process,
    3) Once on the page where you can choose the 3GS or the 4, select one,
    4) On the next page you should see 3 FAQ links (gray text, the bottom left corner),
    5) Click the one that reads: "Is a new contract with AT&T required?",
    6) Read the FAQ in the pop-up that will open after you clicked on the link.
There are no further details about unlocking, jail-breaking or the fact that the iPhone 4 uses a micro SIM instead of a standard or mini SIM card so you may want to ask more info in that regard to a Genius at the Retail Store to learn more about how you can buy an iPhone and use it with another carrier outside US.
If UK and US sales work following the same rules, your iPhone bought online should be carrier-locked, so if you've got one that was unlocked and contract-free from the UK store then either you are lucky guy, or sales in UK are more flexible than US. In both cases what would count is that your phone is unlocked, now the info you may want to get is simply what SIM and Carrier services will work on your iPhone when you are in US.
Best to you and I hope some of these info will help you. Good luck!

  • Can an iPhone 3GS online purchase be exchanged at any Apple retail store?

If your iPhone 3GS arrives flawed (mechanically or cosmetically) from the Apple online store, can it be exchanged for a brand new one at any Apple retail store? Or does the situation need to be dealt directly with the online division?
    Thanks.

"If your iPhone 3GS arrives flawed (mechanically or cosmetically) from the Apple online store, can it be exchanged for a brand new one at any Apple retail store?"
Yes, it can be exchanged under warranty ( as any iphone can be weather purchased form Apple or AT&T or Best Buy). Apple handles repairs, exchanges of iphones in the U.S.

  • Will a factory unlocked iphone 4s from the apple retail store come with a simcard.

Will a factory unlocked iphone 4s from the apple retail store come with a simcard.Furthermore will my new phone need to be activated in store or can i do it myself

No. You'll need to get a SIM from your carrier. Since you won't have a SIM, there will be no way to activate the iPhone at the store, so you'll have to do it yourself.
    Regards.

  • Can I return an Apple Retail store purchase online?

I bought a new iPad 12 days ago, in an Apple Retail store while on vacation.  Sadly, I don't have a retail store within 3 hours of where I live.  Is there any other way to return it to get the new one just release?
    Thanks.

Probably. Call the store and confirm that they will have a stock and when they open, etc.
