  • Hello from a new member and help with random images on refresh

    Hi All,
    I've just joined the forum. In fact I've really only just started to use Dreamweaver. I've covered a lot of ground in the last few weeks and
    have manage to set up a basic site using CSS for layout but now I've hit my first problem.
    On the index page of the site - http://www.hcadesign.co.uk/ there is a large main image which I would like to change each time someone
    visits the site or hits refresh. I've hunted around and found lots of scripts, all using java, that seem to do just this but I'm not having any
    luck getting them to work.
    My pages code is as follows -
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    I've highlighted where the image to be rotated is in red.
    The scripts I've found have generally involved putting something in the <head>, something where the image is to be (but I wasn't sure if it should be
    within the div tag or after img src or what?) and also a seperate *.js file stored in the root directory.
    Anyway I'm not getting anywhere and need some help as I really don't know what I'm doing with javascript.
    Cheers

    Hi and Welcome to the DW Forums.
    For the sake of clarity, Java is not the same thing as JavaScript. 2 entirely different programming languages.
    Copy and paste the following code into a new, blank HTML page.
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    index = Math.floor(Math.random() * images.length);
    document.write(images[index]);
    //done

    </script>

  • New member please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hi,
    Iam a new memeber who would really appreciate so advise please........................... Iam consisering purchasing a blackberry curve or blackberry storm but before i do could some one please advise if the following is possible please ...............................I HAVE A SMALL LAPTOP PC WHICH I CARRY WITH ME AND WHAT I WANT TO DO IS CONNECT THE BLACKBERRY TO IT EITHER VIA SOME FORM OF CABLE OR, BLUETOOTH OR INFRARED ETC AND THEN SOME HOW USE THE INTERNET PART OF THE BLACKBERRY ON THE LAPTOP....IN OTHER WORDS INSTRUCT THE PHONE TO BROWSE THE INTERNET VIA MY SERVICE PLAN PROVIDER IN MY CASE ORANGE...BUT VIEW THE IMFORMATION ON THE SCREEN OF MY LAPTOP??? THE REASON WHY I WANT TO DO THIS IS SO THAT I CAN VIEW THE INTERNET ON A BIGGER SCREEN AS THE SCREENS ON SMARTPHONES ARE FAR TOO SMALL FOR ME, CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS CAN BE DONE, IT DOESNT SEEM VERY COMPLICATED AND I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT IT COULD BE DONE BUT I WANT TO BE SURE IF IT CAN BEFORE I BUY THE BLACKBERRY, ( I KNOW THAT THE ALTERNATIVE FOR ME WOULD BE TO BUY A WIRELESS DONGLE FOR MY LAPTOP, BUT I DONT WANT THE EXTRA EXPENSIVE AS I CAN HAVE SOME INCLUSIVE INTERNET TIME IN MY PHONE PRICE PLAN) YOUR HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED
    MANY THANKS

    You can connect your blackberry, via USB cable or bluetooth, to your laptop and according to your provider's specific instructions, use the modem in the blackberry to browse the internet.  I use it all the time when traveling and, because I have an all inclusive data plan with my provider (T-Mobile) there are no charges incurred.
    This link will get you started - it's pretty simple to do:

  • Student Loan Goodwill Help (New Member)

    Hello all, I am a new member on this forum. I am trying to improve my credit score. The only negative items on my reports relate to student loans. I have been reading some posts regarding goodwill and would like to give it a shot. I was thinking of retaining a firm like Lexington Law, but I feel I can do pretty much everything that they offer and save 100 dollars a month. I have two loans from AES & Nelnet. I have a couple of 120's from 2013 & 2014. My plea for goodwill will revolve around my being a direct victim of Hurricane Sandy. My house and family were affected and I faced 2 years of hardship. Now that I am back on solid footing since the end of last year, I have been paying my loans on autopay every month. Any help in terms of contacts at AES and Nelnet would be appreciated, as well as any strategies.  Thanks!

    I'm a little bit confused, your post starts out talking about Parent Plus loans - which are federally backed loans.  These loans cannot be consolidated by the student because they cannot be in the student's name.  Parent Plus loans are borrowed by the parent, and are ultimately the parent's responsibility to repay. Any type of student loan is very difficult to discharge in bankruptcy, because you have to meet a much higher standard and go through a distinct process to establish that you will never be able to repay the loan and that requiring you to repay them would constitute a serious hardship. Ultimately the problem here is not whether these Parent Plus loans were discharged in your bankruptcy (they likely weren't), it is that they are not your debt.  Do you and your mother have similar names, social security numbers or birth dates?  I would contact the Student Loan Ombudsman and see if they can help you get Sallie Mae to understand that these are not your loans.

  • Help new member getting points

    I just saw this best buy rewards system after I bought a macbook air from best buy yesterday. I still have the recipt and everything if there's some way I can still get points for my purchase?
    Thanks

    Hello NoahKing,
    Welcome to the Best Buy forum!
    Have you officially enrolled in the My Best Buy™ program?  If so, then I would strongly encourage you to read over the Program Terms just so you have a better understanding of how everything works.  I would also be more than happy to help answer any questions you may have about the program.
    As a new member, you can earn 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible Best Buy purchases; however, any purchases made before actually enrolling in the program would not be awarded points.  With that being said, your MacBook Air would not be eligible for points if you did not enroll in the program before or during the purchase.
    I would like to go over your new My Best Buy™ account with you to ensure it has been fully registered and to see if you perhaps have any other questions, so I will be sending you a private message.  To check your private messages, you will want to login to the forum and click on the little yellow envelope at the top of the page.
    I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day, and thank you for connecting with us.

  • HI,I AM THE NEW MEMBER OF I PHONE 4  FAMILY.ANY ONE AN GUIDE ME , HOW TO ADD  MY NOKIA PHONE BOOK CONTACTS IN I PHONE 4 . I USES NOKIA E-5 MODEL. KINDLY HELP PLEASE. THANKS AND BEST WISHES . SHRIJI MAHARAJ

    HI,I AM THE NEW MEMBER OF I PHONE 4  FAMILY.ANY ONE AN GUIDE ME , HOW TO ADD  MY NOKIA PHONE BOOK CONTACTS IN I PHONE 4 . I USES NOKIA E-5 MODEL. KINDLY HELP PLEASE. THANKS AND BEST WISHES . SHRIJI MAHARAJ

    Hi, I see I haven't had any responses but these problems haven't been fixed.
    I still haven't been able to transfer purchases from my phone to my comp so consequently have stopped purchasing on my phone.
    I bought a couple of albums recently via itunes on my comp, and tried to tranfer them to my phone via a playlist, but the sync often crashes. One album transferred except for one song, and the other hasn't at all. What happens is that when I autofill from a playlist it often hangs for ages on the first song and then I have to quit the application altogether as nothing happens for ages. Basically, the whole Itunes software freezes.
    After this I find it hasn't transferred any songs, but they do appear greyed out on my phone, which means it has transferred some basic data such as the titles, but not the song itself. When I try to repeat the process to complete the transfer Itunes tells me that it can't transfer because the songs are already on the phone, but they are not!! I can't click or remove on the greyed out items, so now I have a couple of almost full albums on my computer that I can't tranfer or install on my phone, and a whole bunch of greyed out songs on my phone that I can't play or remove!
    The rest of the problems as above still stand. I downloaded the latest itunes OS updates but nothing's changed. I haven't done the very latest iphone update yet though because it says you need to make sure your stuff is backed up, and I don't want to lose the purchases I made on the phone that I can't transfer to my comp. I'm planning on uninstalling itunes completely and reinstalling but I have little faith that this will fix the issue.
    Can someone please help at all?? I'm so sick of this!

  • ERROR: Member required for alias *********** (3311)

    I'm getting a combination of errors when trying to do a dimension build and I'm not quite sure what it is I'm doing wrong. I added a few new columns to a rules file, 2 of which are alias dimensions, and when I do the build it throws a pile of these three errors:
    \\Record #1 - Incorrect Dimension (Retail Region/Area) For Member Tokyo (3308)
    \\Record #4 - Child Member Nagoya with no parent (3331)
    \\Record #4 - Member required for alias Nagoya:Shinya Kawabata (3311)
    I'm pretty sure I set up the rules file correctly, it looks like so:
    GEN1,Retail Region/Area | GEN2,Retail Region/Area | ALIAS2,Retail Region/Area | GEN3,Retail Region/Area | ALIAS3,Retail Region/Area
    Any ideas? Did I leave anything out?

    Thank you, I fixed the first one by simply changing the GEN2,Geographical dimension name to Tokyo2. Nice work! And I'm still working on the others, the SQL database is riddled with empty spaces and null values. And some of them I can't change because it pulls the empty space into the view from another view so I have to track down where the origin of the empty field is. I imagine if I fill up the database with useful information it'll solve my issue but if you're on the forums again later, please take a look at this thread to see if I'm pulling my hair out for any reason! I appreciate your help, thanks GlennS.

  • Upload new member in the dimension not from BPC Admin

    Hi Experts,
                     If we want to upload a new account not from of BPC admin, how we can do it?
        I tried to do it in MS version and was able to do it, as we have a dimension files in excel format (other than the temporary excel file ), we can add member in that excel file and run the Dimension process without selecting the "from member sheet". And it includes the new member.
                  But in Netweaver version if we do same thing in the xml file of that dimension and try to process, it doesn't take the new member which was added in the xml file.. Any idea ..
    Thanks
    IshitaD

    Hi Ishita,
    Can you try using Data Manager to load master data? I know that is too much trouble if you want to load say just 1 record but it  is a clean option that does not require BPC Admin.
    Regards
    Pravin

  • Ann: SuperScheduler: a new member of Super 1.80

    Announcement: Super 1.8 - an EJB/J2EE monitoring/admin tool with
    SuperEnvironment
    SuperLogging
    SuperPeekPoke
    SuperReport
    SuperStress
    has got a new member: SuperScheduler
    You can anomyously down load it free from:
    http://www.acelet.com.
    Super is a component based administration tool for EJB/J2ee.
    It provides built-in functionality as well as
    extensions, as SuperComponents. Users can install
    SuperComponents onto it, or uninstall them from it.
    Super has the following functions:
    * A J2EE/EJB monitor.
    * A gateway to EJB servers from different vendors.
    * A framework holding user defined SuperComponents.
    * A full-featured logging/tracing tool for centralized, chronological logging.
    * A PeekPoke tool to read/write attributes from EJBs.
    * A Stress test tool.
    * A global environment tool.
    * A report tool.
    * A Scheduler tool.
    It is written in pure Java.
    The current version support:

    Change:
    1. SuperLogging: Log database parameters are specified in a properties file, instead
    of EJB's deployment descriptor. It is more convenient and it avoids some potential
    problems. No change for development, easier for administration.

    1. Add Source Path Panel now accepts both directory and jar file.
    2. Bug in SuperEnvironment example (for version 1.60 only).

    it can handle up to 1.0E300.
    3. Help message was difficult to access in installation program.
    4. Source code panel now both highlights and marks the line in question (before

    as foreign beans.

    on the original file, do not need copy to a temporary directory anymore.

    Changes:
    1. installLogDatabase has been changed from .zip file to .jar file.
    2. SuperLogging: If the log database is broken, the log methods will not try to
    access the log database. It is consistent with the document now.

  • New to internalization help me

    Hi there,
    i am new to this internalization issues, so please bare with me. I have
    an application(web based) that needs to be supported in 6 different languages.
    From
    what i could understand is there are some input methods which will help us
    to map the characters of languages like chinese without having any special
    keys in the keyboard.Can anyone tell me do i need to install that software
    (windows specific) at the client end i mean at the browsers end(a plugin or
    something like that) or only at the server end.
    Second i know people say configure your database to UTF-8 so that it can store
    all characters. But my question is suppose one user with the help of using input
    methods
    keys in some data in chinese language. Then my requirement is that i should be
    able
    to retrieve the data in english if some other user wants to view the data in english
    Please help me i am stuck
    thanks
    bobby

    Hi Bobby,
    for the input methods check www.chinesecomputing.com. There is a package
    you can download to input pinyin with a common keyboard. If you are
    interested in the APIs behind visit
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/imf/ for further details. For
    other languages (e.g. thai, hindi, etc) you can install inputmethods in
    Win2K, don't know how this is handled in other operating systems.
    Well, you are quite right about the UTF-8 thing, but I guess you won't
    get perfect results for your translation issue. You might want to visit

    quality of translations fit's your needs, it's rather an unsolved AI

    languages.
    From
    what i could understand is there are some input methods which will help
    us
    to map the characters of languages like chinese without having any
    special
    keys in the keyboard.Can anyone tell me do i need to install that
    software
    (windows specific) at the client end i mean at the browsers end(a plugin
    or
    something like that) or only at the server end.
    Second i know people say configure your database to UTF-8 so that it
    can store
    all characters. But my question is suppose one user with the help of
    using input
    methods
    keys in some data in chinese language. Then my requirement is that i

    data in english
    Please help me i am stuck

  • I require help with my first website

    As you can see from many of my recent posts, I am new to web development, and I have decided that I am going to need some help.
    This forum has been a huge help, and I will continue using it, but the reality of the situation is that progress is slow as I am learning as I go, each junction I reach and require help with is holding up progress, which wouldn't be a problem if I had more spare time, but I simply don't.
    Is anybody willing to help me? It would be paid work so I would need to discuss how this would work with rates etc... here are some details:
    The domain is already setup, and you can see the first page I have been working on here: http://www.elliotnewman.com/index/test7.html
    The closet website I can find for your reference is: http://www.jaspaljandu.com/home/
    My site will initially not be quite as established as Jaspal's, but in essence the functionality will be similar. The things I know of that I will need help on are:
    Setting up the ordering and payment process when a customer wants to order a print, including automated email notifications, and check out forms ( this may also require membership fields or maybe through paypal)
    Setting up the interactive framing graphics - ref - http://www.markgray.com.au/gallery/limited-edition-prints/forgotten-island.php
    Potentially helping to setup a blog
    Work with me on integration - and updates (ie build the all the templates needed so updates and new images can be posted by myself easily)
    Automation of the counts of the limited editions
    Setting up links to Facebook, twitter, linkedin etc
    Reviewing and testing any code that I create
    Along with these points I will also need standby help with the code I am directly working on, so file sharing may have to be setup. It is also worth noting that I will supply all the graphics and the design elements for every page, I will also be very specific with briefs as I know exactly what I want to achieve.
    If anybody is interested please send me a private message, I would need to see some examples of your experience, details on your availability and your rate - whether thats per day, per hour and a rough estimate on how long you think the work will take.
    Also, if anybody knows somebody outside this forum that you think could help me then please also forward this on.
    Apologies if this is not the best place to post this.
    Elliot.

    Hi
    In addition to Nancy s comments, reading the following line -

    What you are basically after is a tutor, to guide you in what you are doing. In this respect it may be worth your while to read-up on designing web pages,as after a quick glance of the code, (from your previous post regarding the background image ) the main problem you are having is that you are not 'implementing' a consistent design/development procedure.
    Try reading the following -
    General tutorials on html, css, etc - http://www.w3schools.com/.
    Design of web site, general - http://articles.sitepoint.com/article/principles-beautiful-web-design.

  • Can not add a new member to the existing log group.

    Dear all,
    I just want to multiplex the online redo log to different devices for security reason. I just have one member for each group. So I want to use this command to add a new member.
    alter database add logfile member '/u02/oracle/oradata/TEST/redo01.log' to ('/u01/app/oracle/oradata/TEST/redo01.log')
    or
    alter database add logfile member '/u02/oracle/oradata/TEST/redo01.log' to group 1.
    But both commands failed with error pasted below:
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-19510: failed to set size of 102400 blocks for file "/u02/oracle/oradata/TEST/redo01.log" (block size=512)
    ORA-27045: unable to close the file
    Linux-x86_64 Error: 5: Input/output error
    Additional information: 4
    Do you know what caused this problem?
    Thanks,
    Ricky

  • Problem with add new Member in Account Dimension

    Hi Expert
           I want to add new member in account dimension but occured some Error about a member count of a circular reference. Please help me for solve this error. Thank you so much
    Best regards,
    Bank

    Hi,
    This kind of error indicates faulty dimension formulas. There must be at least 2 formulas referencing each other. For example:
    1. A=B+C
    2. C=A*D
    The above 2 formulas are dependent on each other. On one hand, you need C to calculate A. On the other hand, you need A to calculate C. So, causing a cross reference. Try to remove all the dimension formulas in your account dimension and process it. See, if its successful or not. If yes, then the formula was the definite reason. Now, try to add the formula one by one, till you get the error.
    Hope this helps.
