New Member/Wifi Question

Just purchased my first Blackberry an 8530 Curve. I am very pleased with it. One problem is attempting to connect to my home wifi network. It is a Wireless G Linksys router with WPA Security. My BB will not connect although it finds the network immediately. The settings on the dropdown menu do not include WPA security or a place to enter my password. Can any one help? Thanks.

Yes, it is in the EXIF information. I am working with the Nikon D3.
Any suggestions on how to access the exif data and then convert the focus area into xy coordinates?

  • New Member introduction

Hello I am  a new member here and I want to introduce myself. I am known as Sakasa and what I do is graphics wallpapers designs. Most of the wallpapers are done for the Linux community and I will want to share some of these works in the near future with you all.  I do not really get involve in OS development of graphics wallpapers desktops, themes or anything else.. Hopefully  that my art can help this great community through the offering of  the art.  Here is my latest Arch Linux wallpapers.

    Hope you like these.
    Best Regards,

Allan wrote:So...  you are not making any wallpapers specifically for Arch, but rather rehashing wallpapers by changing the distro name on them to Arch.  Combine that with joining the forums just to post a link to your website and I start hearing warning bells.   Are you actually using Arch Linux at all or just here to "spam"?
I have done wallpapers for the linux community for a long time. Arch Linux is a great and known distro. Linux needs a push and this has always been my intention to go ahead and do what I must do and it is to help societies that offer their work for free and can express freely through. I do not need to spam or ever will. I want to make it strickly clear. Many distros have use my wallpapers in their different distro version and I am well known. Antix Linux, PCLinuxOS, and a few others have use my art in others OS, I do not recall right now. I do not care if this society, members or others uses my wallpapers for their distros or for their desktop looks as long as they can benefit from these then I a m doing my duty. Google sakasa  and you will see.  You comment: you are not making any wallpapers specifically for Arch, but rather rehashing wallpapers by changing the distro name on them to Arch  my re: I make a nice wallpaper and after I go ahead and add up the different OS names like all artist do but not how you specify it above.. My art is original and I hold 100's of licenses It would not be fair for the linux society and other distros not to be able to obtain the same type of wallpapers. I do not think it would be correct that I as an artist will take only one side or a specific distro and leave the rest like they do not exist.  Linux is for all and I am a truly belief that we must work together to encourage all the distros so we can grow as a bigger community in this world, which it is needed. I thought by offering that I will get an opposite of the response that I am getting from you. The warning bells you maybe hearing it from someone else. You have put me into in a interrogative situation without knowing me, only because I came here to offer to your OS an extra service in a noble way. This is shocking to me I do not judge or interrogate until I am really and truly sure to know completely a person intentions with time before I can judge or asking them a question and even if I do judge them it does not mean I am right, still I could be wrong. So I am very sensitive before I open my mouth to interrogate  or ask questions to anyone like the ones you have make me here..
I do not need to spam. I take this very seriously and if you belief from your part that this is my intention then go ahead and erase me from your members list.
I hope that you can understand my message and I ask to excuse my English because it is not the best.
One more thing I am not here to work in the development of your distro or any distro as I mentioned in the above post. I feel exciting when others are doing their work too because this help greatly the Linux community and we most expand linux within unlimited ways if we want it to succeed even more.. This is my belief..
    Sincerely, Sakasa

  • Help new member getting points

I just saw this best buy rewards system after I bought a macbook air from best buy yesterday. I still have the recipt and everything if there's some way I can still get points for my purchase?
    Thanks

    Hello NoahKing,
Welcome to the Best Buy forum!
Have you officially enrolled in the My Best Buy™ program?  If so, then I would strongly encourage you to read over the Program Terms just so you have a better understanding of how everything works.  I would also be more than happy to help answer any questions you may have about the program.
As a new member, you can earn 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible Best Buy purchases; however, any purchases made before actually enrolling in the program would not be awarded points.  With that being said, your MacBook Air would not be eligible for points if you did not enroll in the program before or during the purchase.
I would like to go over your new My Best Buy™ account with you to ensure it has been fully registered and to see if you perhaps have any other questions, so I will be sending you a private message.  To check your private messages, you will want to login to the forum and click on the little yellow envelope at the top of the page.
I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day, and thank you for connecting with us.

Picking up VB at this point in your career is pointless, in my opinion. ++
You can always learn it later without much risk that it will be any harder. True. VB's a no-brainer.
To most people who understand programming, VB is inferior to other .NET languages, such as C#. ++
So why have you imposed some restriction on this already? Why are you determined to choose between exactly those two?My Guess: Because they're the easiest to learn.
You were very vague with the requirements of this "Library System." We'd have to know what the heck you're talking about to give you a real answer. True.
Java (Servlets, JSP) is typically a good choice for web/server applications. Yep, that's what they where designed for ;-)
It [Java] is also much better for platform independence. True.
VB is good for throwing together GUI applications very quickly; True.
however, to make a maintainable and stable VB GUI app takes just as long as Java, in my opinion. Also true... and things get ugly fast if/when you have to handle "non-vanilla" requirements in VB... Java is harder initially, but the learning curve doesn't go ballistic when you need to get it to do something the language designers had not envisaged... hence most VB projects are actually a mish-mash of VB and C++.
Next time please take some time formulating your question instead of just throwing up your ill-formed thoughts all over the post.Agreed.
So in conclusion... I'm in furious agreement... Look, if it's only a uni project the tech-arc it doesn't really matter, BUT Java is a marketable skill, and VB isn't. So my advise is to hop in and start learning a "real language" (or two)... You'll need to do so eventually anyway.
    Cheers. Keith.

  • Upload new member in the dimension not from BPC Admin

    Hi Experts,
If we want to upload a new account not from of BPC admin, how we can do it?
I tried to do it in MS version and was able to do it, as we have a dimension files in excel format (other than the temporary excel file ), we can add member in that excel file and run the Dimension process without selecting the "from member sheet". And it includes the new member.
But in Netweaver version if we do same thing in the xml file of that dimension and try to process, it doesn't take the new member which was added in the xml file.. Any idea ..
    Thanks
    IshitaD

    Hi Ishita,
Can you try using Data Manager to load master data? I know that is too much trouble if you want to load say just 1 record but it  is a clean option that does not require BPC Admin.

Not to repaet myself, but... where are my ebooks?
I sync-ed iTunes 10.6.3.25 on Win7 with new iPad3 WiFi/3G and iTunes shows (on my PC) that I have 590 "ebooks" (PDF's & a few epub's) on my iPad, but for the life of me I can't seem to get to them on the iPad3 itself. If I open iTunes on the iPad3 it only shows a bland grey screen with a link to the "iTunes Stores Terms and Conditions…"? And my iBooks is empty, so is Acrobat Reader which I installed?
    What gives? Gulp… help!?

    That is troubling!
I downloaded the Kindle app on my iPad1 tonight, logged into my Amazon.com account and was able to download the books I had bought on my Kindle to my iPad!  I am a VERY HAPPY CAMPER!

  • Suggestions for connecting 2007 macbook in new apt. wifi.

My daughter just moved into a new apt. she has a 2007 macbook and is unable to connect to the internet.  She has typed in the password and it seems to recognize her computer.  She has pinged the router and is recognized, yet she is unable to connect to the internet.  Any suggestions?  She has rebooted the router, and her 2 other roommates also have macs and have no problem connecting tot he internet.  She took her computer to the starbucks down the street and no problem there either.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Absolutely true for some ISP's like Insight.  Before Comcast took over Insight in my son's area, he had to go through a documented Insight process to connect a different device (router) to the Insight cable modem.  My experience with TimeWarner/Brighthouse RoadRunner when connecting a new router to their cable modems has been that they will assign a new IP address to the new router and will retain the IP/MAC address pair of my previous router for 30 days before purging it from their DHCP database.  This comes in handy when I setup router's for my friends and then reconnect my router to the network and get my original IP address assigned.  Once I have completed my friend's router setup and connected it to his/her network, I contact Brighthouse to let them know they can free up the IP address that had been assigned to my friend's router.  Not all ISP's are as accommodating as TimeWarner/Brighthouse in this area.
I also take advantage of this Brighthouse "capability" when I test the WRT54G backup to my new E3000 WiFi router on a periodic basis.
In short, always contact your ISP to see what procedures need to be followed when you want to connect a different router to their modem.

  • Presenter 8 -- need help with proper settings to allow quiz retake (with a NEW set of questions from a random pool)

We are publishing a Presenter 8 quiz to an LMS in a SCORM format.  I am having trouble with the following:  the quiz is built with multiple question groups, and a limited number of questions are being selected from each group.  E.g. we have 80+ questions in total, and 25 are presented to a user on a given attempt.
When a user fails the quiz and exits the quiz normally, we want them to study and try again.  I set the quiz settings to allow infinite attempts, and set the LMS settings to make sure the quiz is not presented in "review mode".  When I test this quiz by failing it the first time, when I reenter the quiz, I am taken to the last slide in the quiz (which is the last one I viewed), and I can retake the quiz by navigating back to the first question.
Here's the problem:  I am presented with the SAME set of questions, rather than a NEW set of random questions.  This will facilitate cheating (all a user has to do is take the quiz once, review the answers, and then take it again to pass it).
How do I insure that the user is presented with a NEW set of questions when I retake the quiz?
I am open to upgrading to Adobe Presenter 10, but would rather not have to do so.  There must be some setting I'm missing.
