How can I get rid of the new messaging box that is now on my Outlook screen? Thanks

By "the new messaging box", do you mean the new message alert pop-up window that appears on your desktop when you receive a new email message, meeting request, or task request?
If so, we can turn it off by going to File > Options > Mail, under
Message arrival, clear the Display a Desktop Alert check box. For more information, please refer:

The OE New Message box does not open when I click on an email address in Firefox. This is not a problem when I use MS Explorer. How can I fix it?

OE is set as my default email in both Firefox and Windows XP. When I click on an email address on a website within Firefox the OE page comes up but the OE New Message window does not open. When I go to the same webpage using MS Explorer and click on the same email the OE New message does open. Is there a bud in Firefox that prevents the OE New Message from opening? Is there a way I can fix it?

I have 2 accounts in outlook 2010. 1 is for me and the other I have delegate access to. When I am in the delegates email and want to reply it automatically uses the account the email is in. So if I am in my email, the from is me but if I am in the delegates
email and hit reply the from is them. Now this is not working and I can't figure out how to get it to work. The only thing that changes is that office asked me to activate recently, which is weird since I have had this same computer with the same version of
office for almost a year now. I did a ton of searching and came across an option on the internet: "Always use the deafult account when composing new messages" but this option is not there on my computer. I checked another computer I have with Office
2010 also and the option is available so it must be something to do with the office activation because I haven't done it on this computer yet. PLEASE HELP!!!

Can I move the new message box out of the way?

Once I click "new message," I can't move it out of the way. I often want to see if there was another person in the CC field that I need to copy. But instead I have to either save the message as a draft or copy my message, close the window, look, then open it back up. That's not cool.

Having the same frustration, and I agree XarBiogeek's answer is helpful. (And BTW, your message drops to the background when you return to fullscreen, but it's not lost. Just exit fullscreen again.)
I'm hoping this bug gets fixed (and, no flaming me please, it IS a bug). It's not just that the New Message window freezes in placement and size; it doesn't even let you save a draft so you can do other Mail tasks. In fullscreen you have to send or discard the new message before performing any other task. (NONE of Mail's menu options function when in fullscreen with a New Message window open.)
I don't know about others here, but the only way I've been able to save a draft (before this thread helped me get out of fullscreen) was to Copy the contents of my in-progress message and discard the window, pasting my content back into a new window when done with my other Mail tasks.

I do not have a SIZE menu option on my new message box and the photos keep resizing very small

Mail keeps reducing the size of photos in messages. I do not have a menu bar at the bottom to allow changes to size. I cannot find anywhere to change or allow me to have a resize control.

The problem is that I do not have a size control, pop-up or other to select. I noticed on another similiar discussion there was an option at the bottom of the page but mine has none. I have checked for updates for Mail but I have everything up to date. As a last resort should I re-install Mail. If so, how do you do this ???. Thanks Rick

Wrong TextField value open a new message window

How can I make my program to react like this:
I enter a value in a textfield. Valid values are <= 20. If I enter 21 how can I make the program to open a small window and display an error message? On the background the original program still runs. Only a new message box comes on screen.

You want a dialog box to show up. If you use swing, you can use JOptionPane. It has some static methods you can use to display a dialog box.

"New Message" opens instead of the message received.

Hope you guys are doing alright!
When I receive a new text message and try to open it, I get redirected to the "New Message" box. Hence, I have to press "Cancel" before being able to read the newly received text. How come? And how to I get rid of this feature?

First close the Messages app. Then double tap the home button, find the Messages app and swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app, just above the icon. Then try a quick reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. See if it works correctly then.

How come sometimes I cannot write text in a blank message box, nor can I write text opening an email and hiting forward and then wanting to add a short text note. I've notice this happens sporatically. What gives?

I tried to reply to an email and could not write a reply in the response box. I could not even attach a file. So I tried opening a new message box and I still could not compose a message. It appears there is an error the coding. Please fix it a soon as possible. This happens to be my lifeline.

I ended up doing some more experimentation and I did fix the bug you pointed out. When this didn't solve the problem I started to look at other files. It turned out that my .bash_aliases file was the real culprit. The offending line was:
alias su='su -l | cd ~/' # invokes a login shell then changes to root's home directory
I fixed the issue by changing that line to read:
alias su='su -l ' # invokes a login shell then changes to root's home directory

Unable to use Instant messanger or SMS in Yahoo Mail. When selected the pop up message box does not open.

While using Yahoo Mail I have a contact trying to IM me. I go to Conversation and there is no dialog box that shows his message. Yet at the top of the tab it says "Keith sent you a message". I also go to open a new message box for Instant messenger or SMS I should get a pop up box for that application. I am using FireFox 9.0.1 for a browser and my OS is Win.7.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Now I'm just trying to migrate everything over to the new laptop.) Even some Adobe updates won't install. Instead, a message box pops up on the CS5 screen saying "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." Any solution?

CS5's automatic update mechanism is broken, perhaps because it is no longer updated and can't cope with the newer ways of updating.
So this means you will have make a list of the updates that failed, go here: Product updates
and manually download/install from there.

Black box or line appears in New Message when forwarding MS Word or PDF doc

Strange thing...
Ever since I formatted and rebuilt my iMac and MacBook Pro last week with Snow Leopard, Mac Mail is acting funny. When I forward a document from MS Word or Acrobat Reader, I get a large black box or black line in the New Message line which wipes out my signature. I have a screen shot but I don't see a way to post it with my inquiry.

I am experiencing the same problem. It does not happen when I drag a PDF from Finder into a new Mail message. It does happen, though, when I try to "Mail Selected PDF Document" from Preview. The problem didn't start until I installed Safari 5.
My workaround for right now when I see the black box in Mail is to: select all, cut, hit delete (this gets rid of the last strip of black), then paste. This re-places the PDF without any kind of black box.
Fingers are crossed that this gets fixed sooner rather than later....

Why is there always the text of an old message in the text box every time I go to write a new message?

For the last three days, when I go to write a new text/iMessage, there is the text of a message I sent recently in the text box. I've tried everything to get rid of it, but nothing seems to work... each time I go to write a new message, there's the same old text again. does anyone know why this is happening - and what I can do to erase it and get back to a good old blank text box? If the login box keeps popping up either your acct is disabled or you are mistyping your pw.
Go here and try out your pw and reset if necessary:
