New Mobile Me...

What do we need to do to set up mobile me once it is ready? I already have a .mac acct but curious how this new change will effect our iPod touch?

Are the problems straightened out and should we be getting the "mobile me push" onto our iTouch now? How do we know that we are up and running? (I too am a .mac member.)

Please always post your System details when you have a query. The upgrade to the new MobileMe calendar produces different results, and different problems, with different versions of OSX.
Snow Leopard: during the upgrade process your iCal calendars should be moved to MobileMe (this can take some time and you have to wait for it to happen). Once done, your iCal reads the calendars from MobileMe so any changes made in either place will be visible immediately. If this has not happened then this Apple Tech Note provides instructions:

Leopard: when the upgrade is completed iCal on Leopard will not be able to see the MobileMe calendars until an additional process is carried out, detailed in this Apple Tech Note:

Tiger: iCal on Tiger cannot read the MobileMe calendars, period. The only workaround is to upgrade to Leopard, or Snow Leopard if possible (Intel Mac required).

You need iTunes 10.7 or later on the computer.
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.

Can't create new Mobile App on preview portal

Hi all,
I'm really excited about the new Mobile App feature in the preview portal and want to get started on something. I went to the portal, clicked in to create a new Mobile App and entered the name and service plan then clicked create. The dots started blinking
and then nothing happened. I've tried it in Safari, Chrome, and IE with the same results. I've tried it with private and non-private browsing. My account is a Partner subscription that allows $100/month in Azure credits. Has anyone else had this problem? Any
idea how to mitigate it and get to coding my new mobile app? Thanks for any help!

The restriction has been removed. You should be able to use any valid name for your resource group now.
I was unable to create a mobile app using the defaults. I had to create a new service plan and Resource group.
Also, the docs on resource groups give me a 404. I have no idea what a resource group or service plan even are.

I think I am understanding my problem here but I am looking for advice. I have currently two macs, a new iMac and a year old Powerbook. My youngest daughter also has a inexpensive PC laptop.
I bought this new Mobile drive to be able to backp my photos, music, and applications. I have some applications on the PC side I would like to keep and some on the Mac side. However, to be able to use this drive on Windows XP I assumed I had to format the drive MS-Dos. When I dragged all these files to backup I got a -1309 error which after a google search means that it is a file over 4GB limit.
Can a PC see any of the MAC extended formats? If not, can I partition this little mobile drive into two partitions and reformat the larger area MACos extended and a small part FAT32? Would that be the solution?

New Mobile ME Calendar & Tiger

I have a Macbook Pro with leopard (10.5), an I-touch, and an old G5 Quad tower with Tiger.
I noticed that the requirements for the new Mobile ME Calendar don't include Tiger (10.4).
So does this mean that after May 5,
I will no longer be able to sync anything from my calendar on my tower to my other devices?
Is there anything I can do other than upgrading my OS on my G5?
I really don't want to have to change my Tiger!!

Same issue here. Possible "solution" below:
1. *Backup your current iCal files* from within the iCal (File -> Backup Database).
2. *Sign up for a free gmail account* so that you can log into and use the free Google calendar.
3. *Remove iCal syncing from your Tiger mac using System Preferences*. Delete all calendars from your Tiger mac
4. Make sure your Leopard Macbook Pro can sync with MobileMe and with Google calendar for instructions please see http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=99358#ical
5. Install 3rd party application "BusySync" (http://www.busymac.com/busysync/index.html) on your Tiger mac. Comes with 30 day trial period.
6. Configure BusySync to synchronize between your tiger mac and your new Google calendar. BusySync provides instructions, very straightforward and GUI based.
Been doing this for a few days and the results are good thus far.

ITunes store wil not acept my new Mobile Me Email address

I have recently taken up a Mobile Me account.
My current Apple ID is [email protected]
My Old email address was [email protected]
I now have a new Mobile Me email address which I want to use with my iTunes account as I want to keep all my purchased music.
If I cancel my current iTunes store account, will I loose my paid for music and will it be useable with my mobileme account?

This does not work.
I originally had to have Apple disable my original account, which has caused multiple problems:
1. Unable to play Purchased content with my new .me account.
2. Unable to update apps on my iphone using my .me account.
Apple support say that they cannot merge the accounts which leave me with a problem.

New Mobile Project grayed out...

I have Adobe Captivate 5, Adobe Flash CS5, and Adobe Device Central CS5 (the latter two as part of the Adobe CS5 Production Premium suite. I'd like to experiment with creating some content for mobile devices. I can create a new mobile project in Flash CS5 starting either in Flash or in Adobe Device Central. But I can't do it starting in Captivate, or in Adobe Device Central if I opt for a new project in Captivate.
It seems that Flash is aware of Adobe Device Central, but Captivate is not.
Anyone have this issue or know of a fix?

Do know that you will not like my answer, but am afraid that you do have this possibility in Device Central and Flash because both belong to the Production Premium Suite. I do have the eLearning Suite, and have this possibility both in Captivate and in Device Central because they are in the same suite. So it is on the same level as the roundtripping with Soundbooth and with Photoshop (for editing Source file): to have the integration functionality you need to have the eLearning Suite, having the individual applications is not sufficient. I do not like this either

Please Nokia! Release a new mobile with stereo spe...

It has been quite a long time since Nokia phones have Stereo Speakers. Now, most of the new Nokia phones I saw are all using Mono speakers.
I have been using Nokia 6233 for quite some time and was totally satisfied with its loud and clear stereo speakers. In fact, Nokia 6233 should have been marketed as a music phone and not a business phone.
Since 6233 is now outdated, can Nokia release a new mobile with Stereo Speakers?

Nokia N81 is a good example for that. Especially when the stereo widening and the loudness option is activated. Placing it near the protruding part of the lower jaw would be also nice.

Just got a Lumia 920 (very good so far), but the text size on BBC News Mobile Site (my favourite site) is tiny and does not respond to text size settings. Adobe should give the option to specify which OS's you own and only get relevant subject matter emails, rather than a blanket unsubscribe.

Does someone know when the release 8.1 for the 8510 WLC is coming? Does it going to support the New Mobility stuff? As far as I know, Cisco was planning to include this feature back again in version 8.1.

Yes, Guest anchoring will be supported between 8510 with new mobility & 5760
We have been advised to use 2504 WLCs as mobility anchors for smaller sites. Do you think they will interoperate fine with our core/foreign 8510 WLCs?
I would think so. 2504 with new mobility, you should be able to peer it with 8510.

How do deauthorise a mobile device, and move the license to new mobile device?

For work reasons, I change my mobile device a couple of times a month and need to migrate my Overdrive media files which has Adobe Digital Edition DRM to a new mobile device. I have encountered a limit of 3 devices, and can now no longer install my content on any further devices. Is there a means of deauthorising devices within Adobe Digital Edition DRM, so i can migrate to a new device?

New Mobile Apps - Adobe Line

Yesterday we had some new mobile apps launched by Adobe, and really good ones. I've been playing specially with Adobe Line and had a great experience. I've seen some people comparing Adobe Line & Adobe Sketch with Paper 53, which I think it is not even fair - the experience of using Adobe Line is way beyond Paper 53. The first great thing is that there is no white paper, the background is a nice light cream colour. The brushes are amazing, the best ones that makes you fell like drawing in a paper for real. The possibility to connect Adobe Line with Kuler is another awesome feature. What about the ruler? It is amazing, I am really impressed with these apps and I am enjoying my time drawing.
So far, the only thing I am missing are layers. Yeah, I know that it is not suppose to be a Photoshop version for iPad, but since some friends (including me) are considering purchase their Ink & Slide and put our Wacoms in the drawer, layers in Adobe Line & Adobe Sketch would be a sweet thing to have.
What about others designers in the community, did you guys try the apps? Do you have any suggestions or comments about it?

If Adobe had made versions for the Microsoft Windows based tablets, they should appear in the Microsoft app store.
If they aren't there, then likely Adobe has not made compatible versions of those mobile Apps for Windows.
I would suggests you ask this in Microsoft's forums for confirmation.
As previously mentioned Apps in the iTunes App store can only be used on iPads.
It appears there is a Mobile App for Surface Tablets in the Windows app Store though: Photoshop Express
