New motherboard recognised as new computer

Hi - A week ago I had a new motherboard fitted to my computer. When I logged into ITunes today I got a message that my computer was not authorised to play my downloads and I had to sign in. I duly did this and I received another message saying that I now had used two of the five computers that I am authorised to have:-)
As my computer is still on the blink - I have an engineer coming out this morning to fit another motherboard and heaven only knows what else - so ITunes will tell me that I will have used up 3 of my authorised computers. BUT IT IS THE SAME COMPUTER!!!!!! This is mad - should I have to buy a replacement that then only leaves 1 before I am unable to play any of my downloads. What can I do about thi????

Don't worry, it is possible to deauthorise 5 computers in one go from your account in the Music store. But you can only do this once a year.

If you computer is working well enough it is a good idea to deauthorise it before doing something major like this, which you can do from the advanced menu.

I have an Ipod Touch 4G.   My computer broke.  I now have a new computer .  I have NO access to old computer.  The itunes on my new computer recognises by Ipod but not the music content already on my ipod.  This means it does not  show the content in the library on itunes any more.  The content on my ipod is not purchased from itunes store.  Can i get it to show up in the `new` library?    Is this also preventing me from downloading new items into my ipod - as i can download new discs into the library, but they will not load into the ipod.   Your help would be appreciated - cant bear another sleepless night.  Thank you

I dont know how helpful this will be but here we go:
    try syncing your ipod again
do you still have these cds? try reburning them to you library
    restart itunes
    restart the computer
    hardware reset ipod touch
    Heres how to do this
Hold down power and home button at the same time until the screen goes black, ignore the slide to power off arrow
Idevice will now restart on its own, this might take longer then when waking it from shut down
    6. now try step 1 again
note: try any of these ideas they are not a set order of instructions

I would like to transfer the music that is already on my iPod touch to a new computer.  At present, my iPod touch is not recognised on the new computer.
It doesn't quite work that way. Transfer your music from the old computer to the new one. Then, sync the iPod.

  • I blew my motherboard on an old computer and hooked my old hard drive to the new computer and want to transfer my bookmarks to the new drive but cannot find where they are located on the old drive--any help?

My motherboard went bad on my old computer, but the hard drive was OK. I purchased a new computer and hooked my old hard drive to it through a usb adapter. I would like to import or copy my bookmarks from the old hard drive to my new one, but I cannot find where they are. I was unable to determine this from searching articles on the web. Be advised that my old hard drive is basically nothing but a storage place for files at this point. My old operating system was windows XP, and my new system is Windows Home Premium.

If your external drive does not have an independent power supply, you may wish to consider a couple of lower-cost options before tossing the drive. Bus-powered drives have no external power source and must get all their power from the computer. They can exceed the computer's USB energy budget.
    Cheapest option:
1 Meter USB 2.0 A to 5 Pin Mini B Cable - Auxiliary USB "Y" Power Design for external hard drives.
This gets power from two of the computers USB porst sna can provide enough power to wake up an under-performaing bus-powered drive.
If you don't have enough ports to use this, try the next cheapest option:
Newer Technology 7 Port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hub with Power Adapter for Mac & PC
Such a hub has a an independent power supply to make up for wahat the comptuer fails to provide.

  • My iPhone 4S is not recognised by my computer when I try to sync. I am looking to upgrade, is it just easier to purchase a new one, then manually transfer data and information?

My iPhone 4S is not recognised by my computer when I try to sync. I am looking to upgrade, is it just easier to purchase a new one, then manually transfer data and information? I don't want to try syncing and backing up data to just lose it all. As the new one I plan to get is a newer model, I'm thinking it is just better to do it manually, but then I have the issue of syncing the new one to start.

    Hello Smeebo,
Thank you for asking your question! It sounds like your iPhone is not recognzied in iTunes when you connect it to back it up, or update the device. I would try the troubleshooting in either of these 2 articles depending on what operating system you have:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • My motherboard went out and I got a new computer and I need to deactivate Pro X from the old system and activate it on the new system.  How is this done?

My motherboard went out and I got a new computer and I need to deactivate Pro X from the old system and activate it on the new system.  How is this done?

    Hi David ,
If it is a retail version ,then you need to deactivate it and uninstall it as well from your old computer and then you can install it back on the new computer.
If it a subscription based software ,then you just need to deactivate it and you can operate the same on your new computer by entering in your credentials .

  • If I reformat my computer does itune still recognise my computer as the same or as a completely new computer?

I've only sync my itouch to 1 computer, however I reformat my computer now and then and I've noticed when I've connect my itouch to the computer it's says I've already authorised 2 computers for my account with apple...So does itune recognise my computer as a whole new computer? If so how do I fix this promblem the next time I reformat my computer?? What happens when I've reached my limit of 5 computers?

As a new or different computer. Before paying one of the regular Microsoft taxes - reformatting your computer's hard drive and re-installing Windows and all software, you should de-authorize your computer with iTunes first.
When the 5 computer limit is reached and some of the authorized computers are not accessible, you can de-authorize all from the current computer being used followed by re-authorizing the existing computer or computers.

  • "NEW" computer not recognised shuffles - but has recognised & sync'd SHAKE

After a ridiculously long winded transfer of songs from old laptop to new computer that drove me mad I now cannot sync in the kids two shuffles one blinks green once and the other flashes orange - the SHAKE iPod was sync'd no problems and the computer recognised it but the other two are not recognised. Have read others have same problem - CANNOT SEE SOLUTION

Also have genuine iPods from online iPod store so the excuse of FAKE iPods should not be an issue I would think

  • New computer using H81M-P33 Motherboard

I just put together a new computer with all new parts and this H81M-P33 motherboard is the motherboard I got for it. My problem is that there is no display coming from the computer.
I'm using on-board graphics and I don't have a graphics card. I've tried using a VGA and a DVI, neither displayed anything.
The processor is an Intel CORE i3-4130. and the power supply is a Corsair CX500.
Everything is connected properly, and the computer turns on, but there just isn't any display. It doesn't go to anywhere I can even go into the BIOS.
Any help is much appreciated and just ask if there's any other info you need from me.

    Dears,
Perhaps this is due to issues with the 8 series chipsets and the Haswell Refresh CPUS. I found this thread in regards to your board, and am suffering from a very similar issue (no display after restart) on an H81M-E34 board.
Try updating the bios as the person in the following post has tried.

  • Motherboard crashed on old computer and need to install on a new computer

Motherboard crashed on old computer; purchased a new one but am unsure as to how to install. Plus I have to renew subscription. Am not sure how to progress from here. I also forgot to mention that creative cloud is used on two separate computers

    Hi Larry,
You'll want to just go through the setup process again on the computer with the new motherboard. Install the Creative Cloud app and then all the applications again. The process is described here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html
    Hope that helps,

  • My motherboard died but the hardrive is still good. How can I get my old bookmarks and copy them to my new computer?

My old Gateway laptop died (about 2 years old)but the harddrive is still good. I was able to retrieve all my old info EXCEPT I can't figure how to get to my old bookmarks file so I can copy them into my new computer. I believe. I have tried several forums, but the instructions don't give me the results I need. I am running my old drive with a USB adapter so I can see all my files, but can't get to/find the bookmark file.
