I wrote all my posts from 2005-2011 as an "Admin" for this community. I still work for Nokia as an external consultant, so my rank in all posts is now "Employee".

I am seriously disappointed that Nokia downgrade the Nokia Music Manager to such level that everyone should suffer to have your albums on your phone; I don’t believe that any developer in this world will remove some old features already coded in the developing project before releasing a new version with new look and feel, 
In the old version, I am able to select the location on my mobile where I want to save my music, the new version ignore that option, 
In the old version I am able to connect with Bluetooth along with the data cable, the new version is only work with the data cable,

    iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

    I guessed which window's I had.
    Not sure if I explained myself well, but when I put the usb to bring the music from i tunes to my i pod, the 'device' section does not come up, and thus I cannot put music onto my pod.
    I have never had a problem like this before. i'm on my usual computer. I have not been messing with anyone else's computer.
    I have spent the whole day looking on i pod support, and looking on the web, but I have no clue as to what I have done.

    You will need to restore your phone as a new one using the itunes on your computer.  This WILL erase everything on the phone but it will let you change the name of the phone and then you can add content to it.

  • New Releases Section is the same for the last year

    As the title says the "New Releases Section" in the "Browse" all the platforms (desktop, android, web and iOS) is absolutely the same for the last year. It is never updated but why as I can clearly see my album notifications from artists I follow? Is this section a "sponsored" artists only secrion, whats the deal here? Here is a screenshot of how the section looks today 30.4.2015, notice that Rammstein which added their music almost and year ago is still occuping most of the space.

    You will not believe the response I got, I am waiting on an escalated response as what they told me is unacceptable at least for me. I will remove the Spotify support person's name as it is not his fault and I don't want to get anyone in trouble for a bug that he/she did not make: Hi ...,

    Have a nice day, to that I responded: When I log-in with that test account the New Releases is different and is up to date. Are you serious that I need to create a new account to fix this, this is unacceptable. I WILL NOT leave my entire music library and my premium subscription history in order to fix a clear bug in your system, I am better of leaving Spotify all together. Please escalate this issue to your managers as it is again UNACEPTABLE to require me to create a new account to resolve a clear bug in your system, what is next if this gets stuck again down the road in 3 months will you ask me to create new account again, till what end. I am shocked at this. I have not idea what is happening at Spotify quarters but the last 5 months have been a pure pain, starting with the 10 000 limit of Your Music, than the 1.0 desktop version disaster and now this absurd "solution". I have been a loyal paying customer for over and year and now I feel like I wasted this time supporting a company that was not worth it. Edit: If such an issue cannot be resolve by Spotify and the only solution is to create a new account I can't even imagine what "spaghetti code" is the core implementation of their service.

    When new music is added every Tuesday I immediately go to the "Just Added" section of the store which is a list of every album added.
    Problem is iTunes never updated the list today. It still is last weeks list.
    I wonder who dropped the ball?

  • Everytime I hook up my ipod, it syncs not only new music, but only a select few of my older, already synced music

    When I connect my ipod to my computer, Itunes automatically launches like I set it up to do.  Then, any new music that I've put onto my computer, syncs with my ipod.  This is all fine.  However, I notice that some of my music seems to sync EVERY TIME I connect.  It's the same cds that do it over and over again.  My ipod doesn't have duplicate copies as a result, and I dont' see anything duplicating in my library on the computer.  So it's not really a problem, but more of a WTH is going on thing.  Any suggestions ?

    Frankly there are things a lot more serious to worry about... just accept it and move on.

    Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) have you tried deleting those tracks from your iTunes library and redownloading them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes ? Re-downloading.
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

    Do you know I had purchased ~ 10 series or more # of Nokia phone in the past!!
    I had used N97mini for few months and dropped it, beacuse it always hang on the startup white screen!! I never had this experience on the past Nokia phones. Most of the people is very disappointed it!!
    Until now, I am using N900, like many people in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and other Asian is waiting your programmer to fix the problem on GPS / Nokia Map!! The phone is useless if the map is not accurate then S60V3-V5,,,,,,,I did contact the local Nokia Shop, hotline, support etc...etc ... Their "professional" respone is " at this moment, we don't have any bug fix and ask me to wait ,,,forever".
    Since I had purchased the phone on May, it was almost 4 months, I am not sure should I wait for it?? Or should I decide never use this brand any more ......(please let us know will you do the firmware update or Map update for N900 or not? please announce it...)
    I just wanna to know will Nokia will care our Asia market?
    Let me summarize the N900 problem:
    - No translation(Chinese words) on Nokia Map. 
    - NoT accurate locate by the GPS module /Nokia Map...
    - no driver for N900's bluetooth~
    - How come the front camera is so dark??
    Why this powerful phone can't use video call...?? Unbelievable....

    I understand your concern goconnect.
    Currently, there's no Chinese version of the Ovi Maps I believe. Don't blame Nokia for that, they're not the one who created the Maps after all. Go to NAVTEQ* and ask them why Ovi don't they add Chinese to the application that they supply to Nokia, because they're the one who created the maps, they are the one who updates the Maps data, therefore they're the one who can make changes.
    Second ISSUE:
    Click on the 2nd link so that you can report the inaccurate maps. Make sure that you have a clear view of the sky if you're using GPS only. But if you're using AGPS you should be getting accurate location but you'll have to pay a small amount for the data connection that the phone uses when it connects to the Nokia server that will ASSIST your GPS module in locating you.
    3rd ISSUE:
    Do you mean the problem is with the sound of Voice Navigation that is not working when you're using Bluetooth in your car? Don't worry, it's not just you that is experiencing that same concern, based on my "personal" investigation, the problem is not with the Maps application or the phone it self. It's with the current Bluetooth Technology.
    You must know that the Bluetooth Transceiver that is installed in the phone is the one responsible for converting the sound in the device to a Bluetooth friendly format so that it can be transferred. However, the sound format that the Maps Application is using is either disallowed to be converted to a Bluetooth friendly format (which I doubt will happen) or is not  recognized as an actual sound format by the current Bluetooth technology.
    You may then think about why not use a sound format that the Bluetooth can encode. Please take note that current sound format take space in the memory like .mp3 or .ogg. Imagine saving sound files for each and every street names for a particular country. It will eat the available space plus it will slow down the system due to large amount of data.
    4th ISSUE:
    Front camera can only be used for SKYPE VIDEO CALLS. If you'll be using it for any other thing then you'll get a very bad result.

    The answer is that not all feature can be placed into one mobile device. And yes it is very powerful but it's not a "phone" go to http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/ and look for this

    Truly Nokia made a mistake by releasing poorly tested product just to catch up with other brands but I don't want you to be loosing confidence for a brand just because you haven't tried to really learn more about the product before complaining.
    And if you're planning to buy a new phone, wheter Nokia or Apple or Samsung or any other brand, you must make sure that you already know about that phone first so that you will not expect too much from a phone.

  • Is it just me? Problems with dragging songs to Music section?

    I used to be able to go to the Music section under my Video Ipod's name and add songs that way just onto my list of songs. But I can't anymore, it says it's adding but the number of songs doesn't change nor does it actually add.
    I have to drag it to my Ipod's name to add it now. Is this normal?

  • Itunes 10.4.1 not adding new music files

    I recently upgraded my itunes to 10.4.1 and am having trouble adding new music to my library which is contained on an external hard drive. My preference setting are correct, hard drive permissions are correct and have no problems playing any of my existing music. When I drag new music into itunes they are processed and it shows the tracks that I have attempted to copy, but they never get officially added to the library or copied to my media folder. Itunes just hangs there with each of the tracks having the little jog wheel next to it. Itunes isn't frozen as I can still navigate it and play existing songs, but those new songs never get added, copied or are able to be played. If I close itunes and relaunch it, ocassionly I will have succes adding an album, but I am looking at a success rate of 1 out of 10.  Where is the problem? Is it with itunes? Is it with my hard drive?

    I'm also still having this problem and have posted numerous times on this over the last few months and it still hasnt been fixed, the only way to get around it is to recreate your library which is a pain as when I have done this not only do you lose new playlists because my HD lost connection to my mac/preferences it decided to consolidate my library and transfer a large section to my Mac....not good! I now also have a problem were when I copy in new items to Music it either creates a playlist or I get a spinning wheel!
    Im beyond bored of the new versions of iTunes and I'm thinking of moving to a more stable player as I waste numerous hours recreating library (which is a problem and waste of time) only for it to happen again!
    Pointless.
    I have also never seen a fix for this problem!

    I have an iPod Generation 4. I have been using it with my pc Windows 8 iTunes for some time with no problem. Recently I had to do a system restore and reinstall itunes 7. It works great but  I lost all of my music in itunes but  I still have all of my music on my iPod. When  I try to sync new music I have to my ipod itunes tells me it will erase all existing content on my ipod and replace it with the new content. My question is: How can I add my new music without loosing my old music?
