New Mvt Type
i created a new Mvt Type by copying 201 (existing Standard MVT). i can't see this new Mvt Type on the Mvt Type list when i tried to Issue goods. where did i go wrong?

1 . To copy a movement type,
select the field Movement type and choose Continue. The dialog box
Define work area appears.
2. In the dialog box Define work area, enter the movement type you want
to copy in the From: field. In the To: field, enter the name of the
new movement type you want to create. To go to the overview of the
selected movement types, choose Continue .
3. Select the movement type you want to copy, and choose Edit -> Copy
as.
Overwrite the selected movement type with the new movement type
(beginning with 9, X, Y, or Z) and copy all dependent entries.
The system copies all control indicators from the reference movement
type to the new movement type.
4. Copy the reversal movement type and enter it in the view
Reversal/follow-on movement types.
5. In SE38, execute the program RDDKOR54 and then give the entry T156 as table name and again execute. Check if the entries 9,Y, and Z* are available in the namespace.

Is it possible to create a new movement type same as 101 (goods receipt)? We need to create a separate movement type of 101 for the purpose of separating G/L account to be used for local and importation purchases. Movement type determines the treatment of any Stock in terms of Qty & Value. SAP has provided the standard MVt type for use in different business scenario.
How a Mvt Type Works is important to understand the requirement of new Mvt type -
a. in material master we are assigning the Val. Class, We are assigning the GL a/c with Valuation class in combination with General account modifier in OBYC like GBB >> VBR>> ValClass>> GL A/c.
b. Each valuation class is linked to multiple General account modifier Key and GL a/c (as per our business requirement).
c. Each movement type is assigned with Account modifier key in IMG Customising.
So when ever we enter a material & Mvt type in any transaction system determine the GL A/c to be for Automatic posting through Account modifer Key (From OMJJ & OBYC).
So you can see, there is limitation of GL assignment for automatic posting in OBYCfor each business scenario.
if requirement of diff. accounting arises for a material with same valuation class, we need to Create new Mvt type & Account modifier key. This new Account modifier key will be linked to New GL in combination with Val. Class.

For our Prod orders , goods receipt will done with mvt type 101. i need to create a new order type for which i need a new mvt type have to be used for goods receipt for those orders. is it possible to change the mvt type as required for goods receipts.

Such type of changes should not be preferred because it imapct alot.
As you see that it depends upon package & package not depend upon any field value, it depends upon table & fileld, so PP order type package should be same, so you can't give seperate package for a specific order type.
Order type package depends upon order category which u can check in OPJH, but u can't creat any new order category .
because it has alot of technical settings so SAP not allow it.
Now there is two way to resolve ur issue.
1. Brief why you want seperate movement type, if u want it for information then there were alot of fields u can use in place making so big changes.
If u want seperate GL then you can easily made it by introducing new valuvation class etc. so check ur original requirement.
2. If you hard & fast want to change Movement type then take it under process order category, and u can give seperate movement type for this order type, you can easily avoid control recipy in process order so it become very much similar to discrete order.

It's possible to affect this mvt type to a DELIVERY TYPE or to the ITEM CATEGORY.
What 's the T-code?

An Excerpt:
In SD, Movement Type is used for Goods Issue or Goods Reciept. You can see the movement type in Delivery --> Goods Movement Data.
The movement type is assigned to the schedule line category and schedule line category is assigned to the item category - T. Code: VOV5. So when you create a sales order, the movement type is picked up based on the item category.
Movement types are assigned to Schedule line types in T. Code: VOV6.
Thus based on the schedule line the movement type is triggered during Goods Issue.The movement type in transaction can be seen in Delivery document in "Goods Movement data" tab of the document for the selected item.

You have to copy suitlable mvt type as shown below step and you can make your own setting as per your business suite.

3.Enter New Mvt type TO -
Say Z01
4.Copy 101 to Z01
5. Copy all
6.Save

501 Goods receipt without purchase order - unrestricted-use stock
This movement type is used for deliveries from vendors that are not based on a purchase order. Invoice verification is not possible for these goods receipts.
For a goods receipt for purchase order (101), the receipt of returnable transport packaging can be entered using movement type 501 and special stock indicator M.
To upload Stock from NON SAP TO SAP you need to use some BAPI or LSMW with movement type 561

During initial entry of stock balances, when the R/3 system is active, you enter the physical warehouse stock figures or the book inventory from your old system into the R/3 Materials Management component. This data entry usually takes place by means of batch input.

Hi all
I created 901 movement type by copying 201
I also created 902 movement type by copying 202
i maintained 202, in reversal movement type for 201
i maintenance diff account grouping to post to diff accounts for 201&901
I went to MIGO_GI and tried to select 901 movement type, it is giving error like "Movement type 951 is not planned for this operation"
I tried MB1A, again "You have entered a movement type that has not been defined for this transaction/event."
After seeing these i understood like i though i have to maintain these new movement types in MIGO through SPRO>Settings for enjoy transactions>settings for transaction and reference documents
There for each For each reference documents like PO, reservation, other only one movement is allowed
For PO it is 201, i like to add 901 here too,
Can some 1 help me in this regard

Follow the steps creat a new mvt type
Creation of new movement types is not recommended. SAP has given all the movement types which are required. If they is a genuine requirement then you can go for it.
If you still want to create a new movement type.
Tcode: SPRO -- Materials Management -- Inventory management and phy. inv -- Movement types -- Copy, Change Movement Types.
Then select the relevant from the field selection list for that movement type.
Then give the reference movement type in 'from' field and 'to' field will be ur new material number.
Then everything will be copied from the reference mvt type, if anything is to be changed, change and save.

Check OMJJ transaction..
Here for each mvt type there functionalities provided in the tree structre like Allowed transaction, field selection, account grping, reversal mvt types etc...So if in case you want the same movement of material but few above things different then at that time you create your own new mvt type via copying the old one...

Excise Posting in Mvt Type Sample Withdrawl
Hi
1) client is manufacturing goods in batches.
2) They keep sample for testing from each batch, Since it is finish goods and consider as exciseable material.
3) Every sample are posted through Mvt Type 333 to Consumption account.
3) Actual requiremnt is create new Mvt Type for the Sample withdrawl, For which two accounting posting done in the system.
One for the material and
second for the Excisable document.
I have copied Mvt Type 333 and created new Mvt Type 733.
At where i can do customizing for the Excise posting.

As I believe youu2019re mentioned about finished goods and 1st decide, when excise going to be applicable:
Once finished goods manufactured in the factory
OR
Once finished goods goes out from factory premises.
If excise applicable for finished goods when goes out from factory premises, then no need to worry ,just after production you can take sampling where you will have two accounting enter which reduces from inventory stock of finished goods by debiting G/L account of sampling.
If excise applicable for finished goods when just finished manufacturing in the factory, then you need to find how to do it , which & when register (RG1) to update with which movement type and then think about sampling.
But if for sampling excises need to be updated, then movement type must be added to update excises.
NOTE:
Movement types specified relating to goods receipts involve excise invoices & which excises register need to be updated in the following path
SPRO ---> Logistics general -> tax on Goods Movements-> India -> Business Transactions-> Specify Which Movement Types Involve Excise Invoices

second part to your query is answered few days back only in this forum..normally whenever we want some specific account to be hit against a movement type , we can create a new movement type.for better answer search this forum (key word new movement type).
Description of Movement Types
Below you will find a short description of the standard movement types. The reversal movement type is the movement type + 1 (reversal of 101 = 102).
101 Goods receipt for purchase order or order
If the purchase order or order has not been assigned to an account, a stock type (unrestricted-use stock, stock in quality inspection, blocked stock) can be entered during goods receipt.
If the purchase order or order has been assigned to an account, the goods receipt is not posted to the warehouse, but to consumption.
In the case of non-valuated materials, the goods receipt is posted to the warehouse, although the purchase order has not been assigned to an account.
Possible special stock indicators:
K Goods receipt for purchase order to consignment stock
O Goods receipt for purchase order to stock of material provided to vendor
E GR for purchase order or order to sales order stock
Q GR for purchase order or order to project stock.
Goods receipt for
subcontract order: at goods receipt, the consumption of the components is posted at the same time (see movement type 543)
Goods receipt for
stock transport order: at goods receipt the transported quantity is posted in the receiving plant from stock in transit into unrestricted-use stock (stock in quality inspection or blocked stock).
103 Goods receipt for purchase order into GR blocked stock
You cannot receive goods into goods receipt blocked stock for stock transport orders.

121 Subsequent adjustment for subcontracting
This movement type cannot be entered manually.
With a subsequent adjustment for a subcontract order it is possible to correct the consumption of components. In this case, the material produced by the supplier is credited with the excess consumption / under-consumption. For this reason, if there is a subsequent adjustment, an item is generated for the produced material using movement movement type 121.
Movement type 121 does not have a reversal movement type.

122 Return delivery to supplier or to production
Using movement type 122, you can distinguish real return deliveries for a purchase order or order from cancellations (102).
In the standard version, you must enter a reason for the return delivery if you are using movement type 122. This enables you to carry out evaluations for return deliveries.
The effects of movement type 122 correspond to a cancellation of movement type 101.

123 Reversal of return delivery
If you returned a goods receipt using movement type 122, you can reverse the return delivery using movement type 123. This movement type has the same effects as movement type 101.

161 Return for purchase order
If a purchase order item is marked as a returns item, the returns to vendor are posted using movement type 161 when the goods receipt for purchase order ( 101) is posted.

The goods can only be withdrawn from unrestricted-use stock.

Removal from storage can be posted with movement type 603 via Shipping.

305 Transfer posting plant to plant in two steps - placement in storage
The quantity is posted from stock in transfer to unrestricted-use stock in the receiving plant. The movement is not valuated.
You can use movement type 605 in Shipping to post the goods receipt with reference to the delivery.

309 Transfer posting material to material
The quantity is posted from unrestricted-use stock of the issuing material into unrestricted-use stock in the receiving material.
Prerequisite: both materials have the same stockkeeping unit.

311 Transfer posting storage location to storage location in one step
The quantity is transferred from unrestricted-use stock of the issuing storage location to unrestricted use in the receiving storage location.

You can configure Customizing so that a structured material (for example, aset, prepack, or display is automatically split into its components at goods receipt. The system posts the split using movement type 319. In this process, the BOM header material is posted and each of the component stocks are increased. You can also use this function if you use the Warehouse Management System (LE-WM).

For sales order stock, you can change the material number for this movement if you manage the material in your company's own stock under a different material number (for example, for configurable materials).

413 Transfer posting to sales order stock
You can use this movement type to carry out a transfer posting from your own unrestricted-use stock, other sales order stock, consignment stock, and project stock to a sales order stock.

You can use this movement type to carry out a transfer posting from your own unrestricted-use stock, consignment stock, and other project stock to a project stock.

Example:
The full product "beer" has a stock of 15 cases. Part of the empties components "bottle" and "case" is tied empties stock.

I need your help in resolving an issue:
I am tring to add a Field: "LFSNR" in OMJJ for Tcode: MB1B and Movement type: 303. but i am getting the error: "Field LFSNR is not
allowed for transaction type 303" as this field doesnt exist in table: T156B / MIGO_CUST_FIELDS.
Please help me with your thoughts as how can i add a new field to T156B / MIGO_CUST_FIELDS and then in OMJJ for 303 mvt type.
We are on ECC 6 EHp4.

Automatic creation of Batch using mvt type 311
when i am trying to transfer material from one storage location to another using mvt type 311. the system is not creating the batch automaticcally.
I have already maintained allthe basic configuration required for this.even in IMg ->logistic general->batch management---->creation of new batch in this path also for mvt type 311 i mainatined (automatical/manual without check)batch creation.but still the system is not generating the new batch.
Can anybody help in this issue.

When you do transfer postings, SAP will set the batch number same as the one from which you are issuing the stock. To avoid this you can set the creation of batch to B (Automatic/ Manual with check in user exit)
You need to use following user exit at batch creation

You will not be able to add Special Stockindicator O to 201, even of you copy the movemnt & create a new movemnt , you will not be able to add the new entries.
Best way is to get back the Stock into Unrestricted use using 542 & then Post the goods issue using 201.

Mvt type 313 Q via delivery not allowed
Hi,
We have a scenario in our priject where the material (project stock) has to be moved from a srorage location to the customer site which again has been defined as a storage location. For this we have enabled the stoarge location to storage location transfer stock transport order functionality. Now when I create a new STO (sloc to sloc transfer) document type UB a new delivery type XYZ to which mvt type 313 has been assigned gets determined properly. Then I create an o/b dely using Txn VL10B.
The problem starts here. When I try to do the GI I get the following error:
Update control of movement type is incorrect (entry 313 X X Q L _ P)
Message no. M7226
Diagnosis
The system could not find entry 313 X X Q L _ P in any of the movement type control tables.
Procedure
Cancel current processing.
Contact your system administrator.
Action to be taken by the system administrator
Check in Customizing for Inventory Management under Copy, Change Movement Types whether the entry is contained in the Update control view for the movement type.
If the entry is missing, proceed as follows:
For standard movement types, this means that the given process is not supported using the present data combination. Do not create any entries without prior arrangement with your SAP consultant. Otherwise, incorrect postings may result.
For customer-defined movement types (beginning with 9, X, Y, or Z), this may mean that they have not been fully defined. Delete the movement type and re-create it by copying a standard movement type.
This error is because of the mvt indicator L determined for which we do not have entry in update control in OMJJ. If I do this mvt 313Q and 315Q without a dely document it is allowed.
Is there any other way to work this out? Is there a way to add entry 313 X X Q L - P to OMJJ update control?
We need to have the delivery document as the material is crossing country borders when it moves from one sloc to the other.
