New N70 firmware cause my phone restart randomly
Hi there,
I just updated the firmware on my N70 from version v 2.0xxx to the latest v 5.0616.2.0.3. However, I found a problem is my phone will restart itself randomly, usually every 20-30 minutes. This happens even i did not touch anything on the phone.
It seems the firmware date is 24-04-2006.
My phone model is RM-84
Can anyone help?
Thanks
I too am having this problem with v 5.0609.2.0.1, although I'm not sure of the frequency of the reboots. I'll see if there is a newer version update available as haishan's appears more recent...

Basically: I'm trying this forum now as a last resort since I've simply tried everything.
PROBLEM: My phone just randomly resets whenever it feels like it in no set time occurence i.e. It can reset once then straight after or resets and then is fine for eight hours or so then it resets again. Each time it does come back on but it drains my battery a lot.
Additionally, like today, I can have say 80% battery which then upon restarts shoots down to 20% battery which restarts and takes it back up to 80%.
This started like a month and a half ago randomly and it was just the once but in the past few days it's become more and more fequent.
WHAT I HAVE TRIED:
Removing the media card
Taping the battery in
Run in safe mode
Update/Reset OS and ran without any installed applications
I'm really unsure where to go from now - I can't check if it's the battery or not yet as a spare I bought won't be arriving for another week or so and I don't know anyone else with a JS-1 battery. My current operating system is the latest so it can't be that.It can be a loose battery. I've heard of people using folded up paper on the other end of the battery to tighten the connection to the battery. However, in my opinion, that's a long shot. The device may just be defective. Does it reboot if it's plugged in to the charger?

New N71 firmware causing errors...
I've just used the NSU to get the latest version for my N71 (version 0526655). Previously I'd been using the side button for voice commands (the default is push to talk). However after the upgrade whenever I use the button in voice command mode I get this;
App. closed: MMFControllerProxyServer07f5b45
App. closed: Telephone
App. closed : [7750608]NssVasCHThread
I have to restart the phone start the apps again. I also used to be able to tap the answer call button on my headset (HS-23) when using the FM radio to switch between preset channels. That's stopped working too.
Anyone else got this? Anyone got any answers?
jbn71I wouldn't upgrade just yet. I was having some niggly issues with my n71 but nothing that I couldn't live with.
Just upgraded and now I've got a big problem I'd swapped the side button to voice commands (default is Push To Talk). It did work fine, after the update it causes numerous crashes of application (including the phone app) which means I have to restart the phone
Anyone else come across this?

No chinese language support in new N70 firmware?
I've just used to Nokia Software updater and it updated my N70's firmware to V5.0616.2.0.3, 24-04-06 RM-84. But now i couldn't see any chinese text...any solution to this? And also now when i try to SMS, It doesn't want to send the message..just stays in the outbox..how come?
please help..You are just talking to other users here, and none of us can answer your question. To convey you views to Apple, use the feedback channel:

Thai is hardly alone in lacking support currently. Others are Arabic, Hebrew, all the languages of India and Pakistan, and all the rest of S.E. Asian including Vietnamese.
The languages which are supported are listed very clearly in the tech specs for the iPod. If you must have Thai you should buy something else. For the benefit of other readers, perhaps you could recommend a similar device with good Thai support? -
New keyboard firmware causing issues
I've never had a single issue with my aluminum bluetooth keyboard... today I get prompted for a software update and now I can't play Starcraft without first removing the batteries from the keyboard.. if I use the keyboard I just get repeating keys ad nauseum. It doesn't happen when doing anything else, though. But the second I started playing Starcraft II I was doomed.
I have exactly the same problem. Whenever I restart my computer it automatically goes to windows unless I held down the left alt key and select Mac. With the new keyboard this doesn't work anymore and I have to plug in my old keyboard each time. It seems like the new keyboard is inactive untill the opertating system is completely mounted as even the left-right keys don't work. Very frustrated and considering returning the keyboard unless I can find a solution. I have all the updates installed etc etc. Maybe there's a setting on the computer somewhere?...

New SMC Firmware (1.1) to address random shutdowns available!
As the title says: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macbooksmcfirmwareupdate11.html
Hi,
my first impression:
1) Fan speed now increases faster when the CPU load increases. Before the update, the fans started to speed up at about 75°C. Now they already start at about 64°C and then increase with CPU load and temperature. Before smc-update I could reach about 85°C running both cores at 100%, now they the macbook does not go beyond 77°C.
2) This SMC update adds one new temperature sensor. Maybe this is related to the working around shutdowns solutions. I wished Apple was more detailed about what they have done. Maybe they don't read out the sensor anymore that could get broken by the melted cable near to the heatsink to prevent shutdowns.
Best,

I'm new to iPhone and iCloud... I have lots of pics on my iPhone but only some appear on my iPad, they're in Camera Roll on the phone but random ones only have come into Photos on the iPad - can anyone help? Thanks!
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream. -

What causes my i4s phone to randomly shutdown?
What causes my 4s phone to randomly shutdown?
Do you have a case on the iPhone? Maybe it's pressing on the home and sleep buttons, making it reset itself.
If that doesn't work, try restoring the iPhone then seting up service. -

Message Edited by bavarac on 14-Jul-2008 01:30 AMIf the nokia software updater doesn't allow you to update then your phone is most likely network branded or network locked. Most networks don't bother approving new updates leaving their customers stuck with old firmware.
If your phone isn't network locked see this faq for more info: http://europe.nokia.com/A4577229#faq35

Since I've upgraded the IOS to 7.0.2 on my iPhone 5, my phone will randomly restart itself. Is there a fix for this?
Howdy there Tuna241,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPhone is restarting unexpectedly after the update to iOS 7.0.2.
I recommend the steps outlined in the article named:
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

After Update my phone keeps restarting randomly - noticably on facebook App
Hi All,
I dont knwo whether this is a generic problem after readin other peoples posts about there phone restarting but EVER since i updated to the new OS my iphone jsut freezes and restarts when i sue any applications. this does not ahppen all the time but i would say a 90% off the time it does notibly when i use facebook.
this has made my phone somewhat un usable. I ahve restored the iphone to factory settings believing that woudl help but it comes to no avail.
I am inclined to think it is somehting to do with the new OS?
Any ideas to help fix this issue?.....Hi and Welcome to the Community! Refer:Article ID: KB36747 All data is deleted following a manual restart of the BlackBerry 10 smartphone and a blue LED is displayed during boot upIf that does not work, then the most common thing to do after an update that results in issues is to perform an OS reload. Sometimes, the update processes have errors and such...with a reload often curing the issues. The official methods, which will be controlled as to what exact OS versions you are offered:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-Functions-and/How-to-Reload-your-Blackberry10-O...The unofficial methods, which are cleaner, and allow you to choose an OS version that perhaps your carrier (or whoever it is controlling your offers) has been slow to approve:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/bb10-os-archive-943672/Of course, before you start any of this you will want a good backup via LINK, a manual copy of your Device Memory to your PC, and full documentation of your configuration (account credentials, added apps, configurations, etc.). Sometimes, restoring from a backup returns to the device the very corruption one needs to eliminate, and reconfiguring from scratch can resolve that. Good luck!

Do not use iOS 7. Attempting to install iOS 7 will cause your phone to require a factory reset, thus wiping all your data from the device. Save your data, do not attempt to install the new iOS 7.
