New nano and Nike+

Does the new Ipod Nano family (release 09/05/2007) work with the Nike+ Sport Kit ?
I want to buy the old Ipod nano with 2 GB, but now I like to purchase the new 4 GB version of the nano

Hi,
I just had a look in the apple store (on this site) and it says it's compatible with the new Nano.

  • Need help on how to help my sister register her new nano and add music to it on my computer. I have my on nano already on my computer registered and set up but she and I don't listen to the same music so how would I go about doing this?

I'm trying to find out information on how to go about helping my sister to register her new nano and load on CD's and such. I have a nano and already know how to do this but she is from CA and we want to load it here on my computer. She will be going home in 2 weeks and wants to use it in the car for the ride home.We don't listen to the same kind of music so I don't want to use my library but do one of her own for her. Also she will want to add this library on to her computer at home. I'm 60 and my sister is 70 I have enough knowledge to do some things on the computer but am not real computer smart. My sister is just learning about everything but has no idea what to do with that knowledge. Can anyone give me and idea on how to do this that I can get a grasp of what needs to be done to do this? My nephew says it's easy but he's in Az and I'm here. He also helps people with computers so he is more knowledgeable than I am. Would appreciate any help on this. thx

  • I have an iPad w iTunes. My hubby just got a new nano and I'd like to sync our music to his nano, but dont know how. Help we've already taken a great mp3 back to exchange it for this nano.

I have an iPad w iTunes, my hubby just got a new nano and we would like to sync music from my iPad (and not lose my songs in the process).  I do not have iTunes on a pc so I don't know how to share music.

There is no way to share your music on the iPad to his Nano without a computer - that I can think of anyway. No third party application will work unless both devices have WiFi and many of them require a computer as well.
I would suggest downloading iTunes on your PC, transfer your music to the iTunes library and then sync the Nano.
Maybe I am missing something but I don't think this is possible as you are currently set up.

  • Just bought a new nano and it doesn't have Mickey Mouse clock.  Can I download it?

Update it in iTunes. Then you will see that you have the clock faces you are looking for.

I watched the new itunes tutorial, and if you double click on the  blank part of the bar that says music, videos, apps, etc, a button will show with your ipod's name.

By calling iPod tech support while you are under warranty.  You also have 14 days to return it w/no questions asked for a replacement or your $$$ back.

  • New nano and the broken shuffle that won't go away in iTunes

Situation: Had a 512 Shuffle for less than a year before it fizzled out. Bought a new 1G nano just this week. Love it but some problems with iTunes. (Running Windows XP)
The ONLY time that iTunes will recognize the new nano and let me update it is if it is plugged in through a restart of Windows. Everything works great then. I can update it to my heart's content.
Any OTHER time when I plug in the nano iTunes "sees" it as the old shuffle, which is of course dead.
I've tried multiple uninstall/reinstall (the Windows way, right?) of both iTunes and the iPod software. But there is something lingering in there that makes iTunes keep going back to the broken shuffle's playlist.
    Any suggestions?

    s'okay!
... this is a long shot. but what i'm wondering is if you've got a very weird version of this particular issue:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear
(it would be a "doubled" version of this problem. Windows starts misidentifying the shuffle as the other drive, and an ipod_control folder makes its way onto the other drive. then when you plug in the nano, you get the confusion again, Windows sees the ipod_control folder on the other drive, and ends up thinking that that's the old shuffle ... that's the long-shot theory, at least ...)

    Hi John,
Thanks for your response, but if you read my first mail, it's the original serial number that I don't have. I bought the original LR as download and have misplaced the serial number. Is there any way to find it???

  • Got a new nano, and it synced all music of my daughters music.  can i get them off my nano

I received a new nano and when I plugged it in, all of my daughter's music synced.  Can I get rid of all that music from my nano?

Are you two using the same iTunes library?
How you delete content from your iPod depends on how it is set up to receive content from your iTunes library whether that be via automatic syncing or manual management.
For automatic syncing, you must reconfigure your settings so that the album/tracks/content you wish to remove is no longer configured to sync to your iPod.  For example, if the Sync only checked songs and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab, make sure all the tracks for this album do NOT have a tick mark next to them in your iPod.  Then resync your iPod with iTunes.
If that isn't the case, you'll want to look at the iPod's Music configuration tab.  You can access this tab by selecting your iPod under Devices. This should bring you to theSummary tab over to the right.  Look for the Music tab along the top and select it.  Here you can configure how and what music syncs to your device.  If you make any changes to this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to sync the updated changes to your device.
Otherwise, if you manually manage your iPod's contents, you must manually remove content from it.  You can do this by plugging your iPod in and clicking the small black triangle next to your iPod from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.  This will open up a submenu of content that is indented underneath the name of your device, so go ahead and click on Music (or whatever content you are wanting to remove).  Locate the track or tracks/content you wish to delete. Highlight them and hit the Delete key or choose Edit -> Delete.
Otherwise, if you are using different iTunes library, simple connect it to your own iTunes library and restore it to factory settings.  To do this, select your iPod under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes and click the Restore button that appears to the right under the iPod's Summary tab.

  • Ipod nano and nike compatability

I want to buy a nano and the sports pack for my husband for christmas. He says there are compatibility issues with the new nano's. Which one should I buy? He loves to run so this is why I want to buy this for him.

I wouldn't say it's a compatibility problem exactly but since the last system update, the 3rd gen nanos will visibly report the distance incorrectly if you have your preferences set for miles. For example, if you ran a mile, it would show that you had gone 1.6 miles, which of course, would be correct if you had select kilometers instead. It still uploads everything correctly to the Nike+ website. My solution to the problem was simple: I just switched over to kilometers. Now it all matches. Apparently, Apple knows about it as does Nike+. I suspect it will get fixed in a software upgrade at some point.
Other than that, I don't have any problems. I really love it and find it very motivating. If you want to avoid the whole issue, you can probably get a good deal on a refurbed 2nd gen online at Apple. Just keep in mind that the 2nd gens don't play video or have the slick new interface (about which you/he may or may not care).

  • I have a new Nano and I get a message that says the USB device is not recognized by my computer and I cannot set it up.

I have a new IPod Nano and when trying to connect to my PC for the first time I get a fault message that says the "USB Device is not recognized by my computer. I have several other IPod devices and have never had this problem. When I go to windows explorer, the device does not show at all, so I cannot manually open it.

    Hello JETaylor2015,
Congratulations on your new iPod nano!  I would be concerned too if my iPod was not recognized by iTunes or my computer.  I recommend reviewing this article for steps to take when your iPod is not recognized:

  • Error Message working with new Nano and iTunes

Unlock iTunes / get write permission

Wanted to upload some songs from my iTunes Library to new Nano.
Hooked it up, went through the promps, choose two playlists to load, and before we could say oops, we saw that it was infact loading the entire library. We had no way of stopping the process so we unplugged it.
Now when I try to open iTunes it I get an error message :"The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file."
I verified permissions and repaired them. No luck.
    Help! Please!

i'm assuming the Error code HRESULT: 0x800763b3 means something and is the solution but where can i find the answer or am i going about this all wrong?
Yeah, this 0x800763b3 is a slightly unusual one. Normally with these, the iTunes install error code matches the error codes that people get on their Windows Update failures. But for the last two 0x800763b3s I've been involved in on an iTunes install (Liv and someone else), the 0x800763b3 on the iTunes install has been associated with an 0x8007000b on the Windows Update failures. (Liv's 643s were pretty much "generic" error message codes for Windows Update failures, which could mean anything. So that's why I/we went after the 0x8007000b, which has some Microsoft documentation on fixes.)
Doublechecking on other symptoms of your situation ... is your Windows Update not opening at all when you try to launch it?
If so, when you click "Turn Windows features on or off" in the "Programs and Features Control Panel" item, is the Windows Features dialog box empty? (No features are shown?)
(If we can't get the codes from the windows update failures, we might be able to make some progress if we can identify other symptoms that you're getting. I know some documentation for some of these codes that mentions the Windows Features thing as a possible additional symptom.)

  • Got new nano and new laptop - how to get songs on both?

My old nano does not work, purchased a new Nano 16 gb.   Also have new laptop and would like to get songs onto new laptop and new nano.   What should I do first?  New laptop is Windows 7, old is Windows XP.   I do have an external hard drive that I can use to back up songs from old computer.

The external is perfect. You will want to locate your music on the Win XP hard drive and move it to the external, then bring the external to the new Win 7 PC and drag the music in to a folder there.
If you have iTunes already installed then you will need to drag the music in to iTunes once you've moved it to the PC.
If iTunes is not installed you're good, just install iTunes and it will pick up the music automatically.
Then connect iPod and sync ^^v

  • I have a 5G, just bought my wife the nano and Nike Plus (question)

I have a 5g and registered my iPod on my computer... Today, I purchased a nano and the nike plus for my wife.... Can she establish her account at nike plus? If she wants to use any of my songs do I have to put my seting in itunes to manual?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have exactly the same configuration as you.
My main iPod is an 80gb 5G which I simply sync
    everything on my Mac with.
I also have a 4gb Nano for running with the Nike+
I simply connected the Nano to the Mac also. You can
then configure as manual or automatic to sync.
Depends on how you want to run things. I have a
specific playlist for the Nano which I use and I
just setup the sync to only do that one playlist (or
    others). Works like a dream.
Configured like this the Mac (or PC if you have one)
will sync each iPod seperately depending on the sync
rules you set. The Nano will also sync with the
Nike+ website as well but be sure to have the latest
Nano software and set your wifes Nike+ account in the
    Nano preferences.
    Regards And Merry Christmas

    1. The nano is in the box yet so I don't know what software version it came with... What is the latest nano software?
I want to make this as UNcomplicated as I can... Can I set the 2 ipods to manual and then she can create her own playlist of songs and put them into her nano?
