New Nokia N95 Gallery + Battery problems

I got a new N95 two days ago, and when I got it it had 3 bars. I used it straight away to load some pics, videos and music on it. Then after loading some pics from facebook which had the really long names like n503642820_36243_4275[1] and I had about 30 of those pics. So when I unhooked the usb and was going through the gallery it immediately hangs and you can't do anything except press the red button by going back and when I press the C button it cancels but gallery is still running and if I access it from the phone it opens with frozen page untill I click the red button. By this time I had a full battery charge. It then goes back to normal, I open gallery again and at the same certain pic it hangs and you can't do anything. All of this is the first day of using the new N95. So when I go back to gallery to delete that file it still hangs on it and so on. Its running V12 and with all that happenning from a full charge it went down to 2 bars.
So we a very fast battery rundown problem

the initial problem started when you used the phone
The first thing you do is charge the battery this improves the life cycle of the battery
Advice to you is charge the battery when it is completlely empty with the phone turned off and make this a habit
Second issue how were you connected with the usb? Via pc suite or data transfer? If it was data transfer you need to disconnect correctly from your pc
There is a symbol in your taskbar on your cpu that if you right click it states "remove hardware safely" you need to do this when disconnecting via data transfer mode before yanking the cable out

YES: I just bought a new Nokia N95!
The *ONLY* reason why I purchased the phone was for the in built GPS - no other reason!
Turn it on: 2 minutes later I find out that you can only do a 4 digit postcode search!
(Also: damn annoying... you have to click on 50 buttons to get to the postcode search bit... that is just damn silly... poor usability... poor design on Nokia's part - is it possible to assign this to a shortcut key?)

I've read in another post on a forum that you get 7 digit search if you upgrade.
Can someone confirm if this is true?
In the post, the poster upgraded to 10.008 or something.
I've just checked my firmware... it seems to be recent: 11.00 or something like that.
So maybe upgrading my firmware won't help??

Nokia n95 8gb music problem

hey everyone i have the nokia n95 8gb phone and i am starting to have problems deleting and installing new music because i am trying to delete some of the music because it duplicated itself when i installed it the first time what would cause that and when i try to delete the music from the pc hook up or from the phone it just comes up deleting and after an hour nothing please help me figure this out please

If your phone didn't come with pre-installed applications on your phone, you may try formatting the memory card from your phone, and see if that solves the issue.
For the other case, you may wish to backup your memory card contents, and then format it.
I think formatting should resolve the problem.

Nokia N95-3 Screen Problem!!

I recently bought a Nokia N95-3 from Amazon and this is the 6 day that I have it. Last night it was almost fully charged. I left it atop one of my drawers and haven't touch it until about 10 minutes ago. I tried to unlock it and notice that it was turned off! I was wondering why it had turned itself off. I go into my room to charge it and it says low battery! I was wondering how that happened since when I left it last night no programs were running and the backlit light was off. And on the bottom right side of the screen I notice a little something. First I thought it was a smudge, then a pencil mark. I tried to get it off using a microfiber cloth that I use for my camera's screen and that didn't work. It looks like a heart moniter black line about 1 cm long. I have been very careful with my phone and I haven't scratched it,dropped it, or used it carelessly. I even use the little pouch it came in to protect it. Here are some pics of it. Tell me if I should contact Amazon or Nokia! Thanks!

I have the same problem too. I got 2 growing (and shrinking) black lines near the top. The problem started to happen a few hours after buying it. The weird thing is, the 2 lines grows and shrinks on daily basis. However, when they shrink, they always come back to the full length afterwards. I think this is more of a software related issue than hardware.
Sending an email to Nokia customer service didn't help. They just didn't reply back.
I will try to take it back to the store (CompUSA) for a replacement. It's very frustrating. Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Hi!I have a Nokia N95 8gb with all the lastest updates,but i also have a problem watching videos.All the vidoes i play stop at 35 minutes,the image freeze but the sound goes on.Not for one or two,but for all videos longer then 35 min.Do u have any idea how i can correct this? Thanks!

Nokia N95 8GB IP Problem

hello..
my nokia n95 8gb started giving me problems... when i open the browser it says no gateway reply.. i tried everything which i found on the forums and discussions... i checked my router and came to find that the ip which my device has is
169.xxx.xxx.xx which i can think is a type of a limited connectivity which happens in computers.
then i tried giving an ip manually and even that didnt help... i tried a soft reset and even that didnt help..
i can search for wireless networks. i can connect to them.. but i cannot browse or use any application through wifi... please help thanks alot.

Nokia N95 Screen Backlight Problem! Please Help Wi...

Its been about 9 month since I purchased Nokia N95. Last night, when I was watching a video, its screen backlight began to flickr. It turned very dim and then restored. It turned again compeletely off, then came to its normal brightness. I tilted the phone in all ways, hto it gently to know whether some wire inside is loose, open and closed the slider. But the screen went on and off itself. I reset my phone by hard formatting (*#7370#) but of no use. The next day, it did the same. After two days, now it is stable. But I fear it might be started again.
I want to know can this problem be due to some moisture inside my phone or is it because of some hardware proble. And please suggest what should I do. My phone is still under warrenty, but the phone is stable for at least a whole day. Should I carry it to warrenter for repair?
Any suggestions in this regard? Please reply with practical experience and not a hypothetical reply.

N95-2 Battery Problem

I have bought n95-2 8gb 2 weeks ago..
I dont have problems about phone or applications but battery is horrible
it always shows %100 charged. I got device status and it says %100 on phone and pc too. its always %100 for 8 9 hours and than it drops to %0 and phone turns off.
is this a known bug? I got a new battery and its still the same problem what can I do and how can I correct this problem. any one having same problems?
I saw 10 15 topics at other forums and they cant find any solutions...

Nokia E90 firmware battery problem

Hi! I updated last week my E90 to the latest firmware. Until then, my battery lasted for more than 3 days. Now, my battery lasts for only 18-20 hours when I do not make any phone call. I do not have any bluetooth or WI-FI scanner activated. I do not know what is happened. I think it is a firmware problem. Are you going to fix it?

I had the same problem too: after installing the new firmware my battery lasted for max 24 hours, even when in standby and no calls made.
I reinstalled the firmware 48 hours ago after a full charge and the battery still is full now!!
What you need to do, in order to be able to reinstall the firmware, is downloading the latest Nokia Software Updater software. This enables you, after the message from the updater that you already have the latest firmware, to reinstall it. As I noticed already, it worked for me.

New 5800 xpress music battery problem

soo here goes...
i got dis new new 5800 xpress music just 2 days back...i fully charged it and didnt insert da sim yet....so da phone was actually just on standby mode continuosly.....and yet only after 24 hours it showed battery dead....i again recharged it fully....and again after 24 hours it showz battery dead....wat am i supposed to do?? i faed a similar problem wid my n95 and hence changed da phone and nw dis thing;s again acting up......HIGHLY IRRITTATING!!

Here is a strong possibility of what the problem is - I have noticed how easy it is to leave some application still running when you shut it down by using the slide switch. Maybe maps or bluetooth - anything really. Before you use that slide switch; display the main menu and look carefully for any item with a little circle near it. Any you find should be turned off by clicking onto that item and then exiting from it by clicking "exit". Now check that menu again to make sure that all items are now turned off.
As a separate precaution; if you keep your 5800 in a flexable pouch; you will find that there is plenty of room for a spare battery (only about £5). The spare would be needed on a long flight or when using the unit as a satnav if not plugged into the cars cigar lighter

Nokia n95 8 gigs problem

hello i'm having an issue with my freshly bought n95 8gb. when i enter nokia maps, the latest edition, the phone simply can't connect to the satelite, no matter how long i let it do that. i entered the gps data application but no matter how long i leave it, it still can't connect to the satelite, saying that there is no connection. but that's not the problem because everywhere i go there is no connection. and my other phone, n82 works very well and connects very quickly. please, help me with this problem i need that gps connection. regards

Check these:
(1) Phone software version - v20 and up have better GPS handling than earlier versions, if you have earlier than that then update.
(2) Maps application version - if you have v1.2, update to v2.0 (this version will be inbuilt if your phone can update to software version 30 anyway) - this version is much improved.
(3) This model has its GPS receiver positioned beneath the keypad, rather unusually, so make sure you have the slide open when using GPS.

Nokia Email Beta - Battery problems

i have just recently purchased the E71. i used it for about a week before installing the new Email Service Beta. Since installing it, I don't seem to get more than 24hours out of the phone, which should last 10 days.
I also noticed that once the Nokia Email Service Beta was installed the 3G network connection stays permanently connected. I wondered if this might be part of the reason for the battery being used up so quickly?
I realise this is a very early beta, so i'm just pointing out my experience (reporting bugs) rather than looking for a solution.

If you still want to receive e-mail on the phone but don't need to know the second it arrives, then you can have the phone poll your e-mail account every 30 minutes. Furthermore, you can have it do so only between certain hours and on selected days
The phone will then only connect periodically, you'll still know fairly quickly if there's mail for you and your battery will last much longer.
IMAP4 is a good solution to synchronize mail across multiple machines. Whenever you sync to your mailbox on one machine, it'll automatically see whatever you've done previously on another machine accessing the same mailbox. Concurrent access to the same mailbox by multiple machines is still a bit of a headache.

hi to all users,
i am using nokia 5800 xm.i have an problem with this model regarding battery.when i connect to charger to mobile it show charging but after some time when i unplug the charger from mobile it will show low battery and after restarting the device it will indicate full battery bars

Take back-up of your data.. and Go for Firmware Update / Re-install..If that does not help..do a Soft Reset by dialing *#7370# followed by 12345 (Default code) when prompted. If you have set your own code..use that instead. Be warned that Soft Reset will erase all data from the Phone memory and Restore will be necessary.. You will also have to re-install some of the applications..
