New Nokia's (820/920) & Outlook sync

I currently use an HTC HD2 with Outlook 2007 email, calendar, contacts and tasks.
There is much disinformation on the internet. So i'd like to ask 2 questions:
- (plz allow me to ask this : ) does MS Office 2010 / 2013 include tasks?
- How can i sync my PC's Outlook 2007/2010/2013 with the new Nokia's? Is it still necessary to use a live account? I Hope not!.....
Regards

I have over 3500 contacts, and this is how I sync my outlook Contact with my Nokia Lumia 920.
1. I created an outlook.com account in My PC and logged in from Both Lumia 920 phone and my PC.
2.From my outlook, I exported my outlook personal address to my PC and saved it on my desktop like below.
FILE -> OPTION -> ADVANCE -> EXPORT -> Export a file -> Comma seprated value (Windows) -> (Exporting from personal address book) Choose CONTACT then where in your PC you want to save it, ( For me I saved at my PC's Desktop.
3. Log into your Outlook.com , go to the PEOPLE folder, look for Importing file colum and import the file you exported to your PC location, as for me, my Desktop on my PC. You will be notified how many contacts transfered.
After that your done, go back to your Lumia 920, Tap the PEOPLE and you will see all your contacts.
If this is helpful, please share it with others having same problem.

  • Nokia PC Suite and Outlook sync - field

    Hello,
why does Nokia PC Suite put default contact number into "Other Phone" field in outlook? This field isn't shown anywhere, and it gives troubles when trying to sync outlook with other applications.
How can I change where number is saved in outlook?

    Hi,
This may be a limitation on phone side
The standard 'Telephone' field on a S40 device will be synchronised to the 'Other' number field in Outlook.
If you whish to change this then you can select 'Change Type' from the menu option on the device, and choose either 'Home' or 'Work' telephones, this will then be synchronised to the 'Home' or 'Work' number field in Outlook.
Please let me know if it helped you

  • Nokia N80ie contacts replaced not synced

I have a new Nokia N80. I can sync it with isync just fine. Calendars and address book all work, but I find that my contacts are being replaced completely each time I sync. This also ends up deleting my speed dials.
Anyone else? Any thoughts on how to fix? I'm new to Nokia and Symbian.
PowerMac G5 Dual 1.8's; White MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I have seen this mostly happening due to Nokia Connectivity cable not working. Please try the steps provided below, might work.
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now and sync correctly .

  • Nokia 6303 /ovi suite contacts in outlook sync pro...

    Hi
I am using ms outlook on windows xp and ovi suite.  The problem is that not all the information from outllok is passed to the phone.  Some addresses are left out and sometimes other info such as phone numbers or email address don't sync.  Some contacts are fine and there doesn't seem to be any consistancy to the problem.  Any ideas anyone.
    Regards

I have N97 Mini and a lot of problems.Actually I wouldn't called it problems because there is no solution ever post by NOKIA support. This is really a nightmare that NOKIA COMPANY sold to the buyers along with phones we bought .I have 10 years of experience with NOKIA devices all of the models including the first Symbian 6600.Now the whole month I spent every day trying to handle this **bleep** od device and the biggest **bleep** OVI suite searching on hundreds of sites and forums but everywhere the same only bad no solution and NOKIA just giving new versions that means nothing for solving problems.
So XP Pro OS when i try to sync contacts  the most of the contacts I do but about 33 contacts reports Sync conflict and i have notes that those contacts has a photo of people next to number.
Also well known problem is with music, videos and photos. I have music stored in mass storage and what ever i tried i cannot reproduce the music from the device.I made playlists,library,...
The next thing I'll do, I will turn on my camera and say what I think of new NOKIA and OVI suite than I will throw N97 Mini hard on the floor and madly wade over device while it becomes a pile of  trash what is the real description of new generation touch screen and new OVI suite any version!

  • Help with Lumia 920 Exchange/Outlook sync email be...

    Hello,
I am pretty proficient with Windows Phones. Have had a Focus, and Lumia 900. Now have the 920. Love it, except will NOT sync with my work email, which is Outlook/Exchange. Didn't have a problem with the Lumia 900 doing it. And the 920 will sync seamlessly with my Hotmail and Aol accounts. Every time I try and set up my work email, this comes up...
Error code 80072F30 we're having problems downloading messages(not frequently)
    Or this one EVERY TIME...
We are having a problem connecting to...(our company server name)
    Error code :86000107
I've tried on this phone. Ive done a hard reset. I've tried on the 8x in store. Same result. Is there a bug or something I need to do? If not, I need return the phone, which I love.
    Thanks
    Craig

it may be something as simple as one letter being off, or missing a period or using a comma instead of a period.
i am using two exchange and 3 imap on my device without error.
i did have a challenge on one exchange, but it was the user (me) lol.

  • Can't sync my Macbook with my new Nokia Lumia 900.

I spent two hours with a couple of the tech folks at the AT&T store yesterday, trying to get my new Nokia Lumia 900 to sync to my Macbook... but with no luck. No matter what we did, I kept getting a message that the server was not secure, and so the calendar and address book wouldn't sync. Other things probably as well, though these two were my primary concerns. And, yes, we had downloaded the Windows Phone 7 Connector. It didn't seem to matter. Any suggestions, other than taking the phone back and getting another iPhone for a couple hundred more than I paid for the Lumia?

Take it back and buy an iPhone...
Sorry had to say it -

  • NEWS FROM TECH SUPPORT - UPDATED LINK COMING to SOLVE OUTLOOK SYNCING ETC

I talked to Tech support today Regarding Outlook sync... there is a work around... defining a hotmail account (with hotmail connector)  in outlook , making hotmail the contact database.... it will sync to the online hotmail account . when you then create the hotmail email on your Z10 .. it does have sync options for your contacts, and calendar.. not a big deal for me because I already had a htomail account in Outlook (as well as 3 other business accounts...
    ALSO:
the tech guy says by end of month ( I suspect before US release):
    Blackberry will have:
    * IMPROVED MIGRATION FROM OLD BLACKBERRYs
    * "OPPOURTUNITIES to IMPORT CALENDAR, etc. (whatever that means)
    * TWO WAY SYNC to OUTLOOK

    Thank you.
This same coming Link upgrade was announced in this forum three weeks ago:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Z10/New-Blackberry-10-Sync-to-Outlook/m-p/2170993#...
And the Outlook.com/Hotmail sync is detailed here:
    http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2013/02/how-to-setup-outlook-to-wirelessly-synchronize-your-contacts-...
But I can assure you, the outlook.com/hotmail sync workaround is only a workaround, not a solution. I've been using this not for ~weeks and it works, just not a complete solution.

  • New Outlook sync problem after update!!!

I had the 'original' Outlook sync problem, which went away after the iTunes update to 7.3.1, but now, after the iPhone update last night, I have an entirely NEW Outlook sync problem!!
When I sync the iPhone, right when it gets to the 'syncing contacts' part (that you see in the top box/window in iTunes) I get an error message that I haven't seen before. It says "AppleMobileDeviceHelper has encountered a problem and needs to close..." and it gives me the option to send an error report. I dismiss the error box, and the sync process hangs, and iTunes becomes unresponsive.
If I open Outlook, the two Apple sync oblects are still enabled, and get no error message. If I re-open iTunes and try to sync again, it only syncs iTunes content, and never even tries to sync my contacts or calendar.
Anyone having anything similar since last night? The only thing different is the iPhone firmware update.

I just cancelled the sync by using the slider. I didn't realize I could do that. The phone seems fine. I may try it again and see what happens.

  • SIM-unlocked Nokia Lumia 820 in New York, US?

    Hey guys,
Would anyone, especially those from Nokia, know when SIM-unlocked versions of Nokia Lumia 820 will be hitting the shelves in the US, particularly in New York?
Since dealers here in the Philippines keep telling me that the new Lumia phones will not be available until 2013 comes, I assumed that SIM-unlocked versions will be arriving earlier in the US so maybe I can just have one bought from there.
    Thank you!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Okay, thanks for the reply. Just received some unconfirmed news that Lumias will be arriving at Singapore this December. Hmm, I've always thought that US was one of the first countries to receive the goods.
Well apparently they did, but only carrier versions. Maybe it's about the market there who prefer free phones from carrier plans over buying retail phones (I don't mean to generalize though).
    Anyway, thanks again.

  • New Outlook Sync

I'm a Z10 early adopter. I find the Z10 could be great but: 1) it misses several privacy management customers were used to have in BBOS7; 2) it's current outlook sync feature really sucks: it just syncs contacts and calendars, but won't sync neither activities nor notes.
That's outrageous, IMHO. I'm wondering when BlackBerry will want to fix this ridiculous fail. In one of my posts I already stated that, if this will not be fixed within the end of July, I'll sell the Z10 and BlackBerry, for me, will END being my favoured smartphone, at least until my current Bold 9900 (which for me is one of the best smartphones ever, still a "real" BlackBerry) will become obsolete. More on this here.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The best way is to, on your old PC, create a PST in Outlook and copy all of your data to it. Then, close that PST in that Outlook and then copy the PST over to the new computer. Now, open that PST in that Outlook and copy your data into the primary folders of that Outlook.
It's best to do a like-for-like data exchange rather than trying to use some intermediary device.
    Good luck!

  • New user here. Can I sync with Microsoft Outlook?

Brand new Driod X user here. Is there a way to set up my Droid X to sync with my Microsoft outlook contacts? While the Contact list on the Droid is nice and all when they converted over all my contacts from my Treo it messed up many of them and now I have to re-enter a lot of information and it would be easier to do that if i had my address book on outlook synced with the Droid.

  • Undo Nokia - Outlook Sync

    Hi,
big time problem. I have deleted all my calender entries and task entries on my E71 and then accidently synchronized it via PC Suite with Outlook. The result is that all my Outlook calender entries and tasks have been deleted (92 items). That is a disaster...
I am desperate right now. I can still see the sync report where it is mentioned which elements have been deleted but is there anyway to undo the action or to sync back the items from the sync report (log file)?
    Any help will be appreciated...
    Thanks,
    Dennis

    Hi,
First i dont think you can Undo your Nokia-Outlook Sync
But if you have not done any other sync after your deletion sync, connect your phone, on your system tray you can see the pc sync icon(similar to yin yang symbol), right click on this icon.  You can see option called View last report, save that Log file, so that atleast you can see what all are the items got deleted.
I knew its not the reply you are looking for but someway you can check what all are items got deleted

  • Nokia Lumia 820 issues after Lumia Black update...

Before updating to the Lumia Black update:
    1. Was able to connect the Nokia Lumia 820 to my home PC using Windows 8.1 and it was able to see the device and files on it as well as sync music from Windows Media Player to the device.
    2. Was able to connect to the Nokia Lumia 820 from one of my Office PCs using Windows 8.0 and was able to see the device and files on it.
As well as to manually install Windows Phone 8 applications or install the Windows Phone 8 applications via Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate from either PC.
After the Lumia Black update, Neither PC can see files on the Nokia Lumia 820 nor can any application send files to the Phone's Memory Card or Second Memory Card. (SD Class 10)
Very frustrated with the Lumia Black update. Lumia Amber worked just fine.
I haven't changed anything as far as I know on my Nokia Lumia 820 device to cause said issues nor have I abused the device in any way.
    PLEASE HELP!!!
    Thank you,
    BillNew
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Simply wanted to add 3 new audio tracks to the Music files via Windows Media Player but cannot even connect the device like it did less than 45 days ago when everything was working properly.
All my music files are on the SD Card because the file space needed is more than the 7.3 GB on the base memory for the unit. (Something like 8.1+ GB at the present time of 29.8 GB... which is the formatted size of the 32 GB SD Class 10 card.)
When the Nokia Lumia 820 is connected to my home Windows 8.1 computer, Windows knows about it but cannot finish the handshake to see the device and the 2 memory areas on the device.
Have to determine which programs that I have installed after the initialization that I want to restore.
The problem at the moment is that turning off the unit loses ALL Music Album Data but the songs are still there. This seems to have been caused by Lumia Black Update but not sure if that is true or not.
Have a lot of stuff to backup before resetting the device. Perhaps could upload everything to SkyDrive / OneDrive then restore the data after a full reset of the device.
I have all my cell phone contact data backed up but would like to backup all text messages too.
I have 2 custom applications that I have developed but are not yet setup using the Windows Phone 8 Development License as released products... that will be done soon.
Cannot backup the latest pictures on the phone... not many since the last backup but there are pictures that are not restorable that I would like to keep.
Would rather not have to do a complete reset but may have no choice.
    Thanks,
    BillNew

  • Help: Transferring Contacts Labels to a new Nokia ...

Hello, I currently have a Nokia 7610 and have about 500 contacts and many of those contacts have the labels edited. now I went to buy a new Nokia phone (E52) but Nokia agent told be that he'll be able to transfer all of my contacts from the 7610 to E52 BUT the contacts labels will be lost !!!and even if choose other than E52 also the contacts labels won't be transferred !!
I need the contacts labels and I can't live without them, can someone help on this issue please.
    Thanks

Like styllles said, using a hotmail/live/outlook.com account is a much better way to keep your contacts backed up and in sync. The Verizon backup app is problematic at best, a disaster at worst (which is the norm in my experience). When you set up one of those free Microsoft email accounts you will be prompted to include contacts and calendar along with email. Check all the boxes so everything is synced to the account. Then when you set up that account on a new device all your info is automatically and instantly on the new device. Easy peasy.
