Welcome to the Nokia Software Updater, a Windows application that you can use to get the latest device and application software updates. The Nokia Software Updater is a basic application just for updating and recovering software.
This release candidate supports device application updates and one-click update experience. This release also has totally new look and feel.
After you have updated your device software*, please give feedback on the forum.
Any critical improvements needed will be included in the actual release, while smaller items will be fixed in coming releases. We would like to hear especially if you have any problems with the device application updates. We would like to also get your comment about the new look and feel.
* As with any software update, please be sure to follow the on-screen advice before starting the update process to avoid possible data loss.

Problem to install new nokia software updater

Hello,
I can't install the new sofware for 6300, vs 5.5, because, first, it's neccessary to get new nokia software updater and to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistribuable and there is always the same error (command line option syntax...) when I try to installed this composant on my computer;

Nokia Software Updater Beta 4 Windows 7 ERROR

Does not work.
Tried the troubleshooting steps.
Disabled AV and firewall. Rebooted system.
what do i do now.

EDIT: this error is happening only with my 5800XM and not my N95

I had installed software updater 2.4.5.en for windows 7 and the install was successfull.
It even detected my N97 mini.
The problem started when i wanted to upgrade the software in the N97 mini. The current version of software i have is 11.0.028; latest avilable for my phone with my prodcut code is 11.0.045.
But when i tried to check new software using 2.4.5en; it said that "Please note that your mobile service provider, operator or carrier may nto have approved the lates Nokia device firmware avilable"; This totally wrong ans.
I checked on web "Can I update" (http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update ) which is the latest avilable for my phone (using product code) and it showed that latest version is 11.0.0.45.
I uninstalled the 2.4.5en and installed 1.8.10en ( installed using the windows vista compatiblity mode). Tried to update the fw of my N97 mini and it showed that latest versoin avilable is 11.0.045 and i upgraded my N97 mini successfully without any issues.
looks like new version 2.4.5en has issues.. so kindly use old software

New nokia software updater ...error :(

i started update of a new n73 today when mine already installed NSU asked update itself to new version i.e.1.3.83 which detects my phone need to be update i.e n-73 current fw:- 2.0628.0.03
to new fw :- 3.0704.1.0.1 and when try to update it shows internal module error !!!!....what does it means am using windows vista home premium

I have tried to install and uninstall the NSU software and I am not having any luck. I have tried this on both XP and Vista. I am getting the following error once it trys to apply the firmware update:

I have turned off all antivirus programs to ensure that this was not the issue, I read an article that stated this worked for other users, and still no luck.
Any help with this would be great, currently I am running Firmware version 3.63 and would like to update to the 9.42 release.

Why installing Nokia software updater fail ?

There come some error message when i try install Nokia software updater on my pc.
I use Win XP pro FIN with latest updates.
Ill try install latest software updater for a few times but all same error message.
Because i cant copy what its prompt ill cant put it this.
Before all things work properly but latest updater wont work.
Same think comes when try update from nokia pc suite,,,Sucks...

Installer failing could be a corrupt download redownload .
Could try new Beta updater .

Error 1904 while installing "nokia software update...

Hi, i've just downloaded the new nokia software updater v.1.4.70en but while im trying to install it shows me an error saying :
" Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\Communication API\cmn_usbdcm.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel" and another " Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\Communication API\dtl.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.".
I put ok and it continues the installation and then it finish.
But the problem is that if i go to the nokia software updater it does not find my phone! Im working on my windows xp sp2 laptop. I also tried on my windows vista laptop and it gave me the same errors! I have no firewalls or antiviruses to block anything! if somebody can help me i would be very gratfull!

I have just encountered the same/similar problem and spent an age trying to find a solution both here and through Google with no success. The good news is that after a bit of trial & error I have managed to resolve the issue with a very simple workaround
When installing NSU, continue through the installation until presented with the error message.
Here, grab a pen and paper and note down the full path of the .DLL causing the problem.
Now continue to install (ignoring the error) by clicking on the right arrow.
Once insallation is complete, open the start menu and select 'Run'
Here you need to type "regsvr32" (without quotation marks) followed by a space then the full path of the file you have noted from the error message. (Note - the path should be in quotation marks). As an example, below is exactly what I typed to resolve my issue
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\ProductApiLoader\ta_productapiloader.dll"
Now open NSU and update your handset.
Good luck and remember to feed back your results on this thread for the benefit of others.

Almost certainly PC Suite 6.83 rel_14.1 is the problem and it's successor is currently beta testing.
Sometimes uninstalling Nokia applications - PC Suite, NSU, Nokia connectivity drivers and cleaning out remnants for a clean install is only solution but this is a bit drastic!
I know some have returned to 6.82 rel_22.0 but if you try to use latest NSU with it, it corrupts it!

ERROR IN NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER 2.5.2(LATEST) For ...

Hi everyone. I yesterday installed Nokia Software Updater 2.5.2 (LATEST) on my PC Running-
Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit build 7600
No ovi suite installed.
I had some problems in my new software V50 of Nokia 5800.
I tried to reinstall the firmware but there is no option to reinstall as earlier versions of NSU had.
But in help file of that NSU(5.2.5) it is written that-:
''After the phone has been detected and identified and the update information checked, Nokia Software Updater displays a summary on the PC screen. If you want to continue updating your phone software, click the Update button. It is also possible to reinstall the same software version that is already in the phone.
Now what do I do as in my NSU there is no option to Reinstall??
Please guys help me out.

Actually I updated through FOTA. It was successfull.but now I had some problems after it has been successfully installed.That's why I wanted to reinstall it and there is no option to reinstall. SO please tell me if u know any way to reinstall the installed update

Trouble with Nokia Software updater software

I have trouble with my Nokia software updater.
It "freezes" in detecting your phone picture.
Everytime there is a new version of NSU and first time I run it after installing/upgrading it works fine. But when I run it one more time it freezes.
Anybody who could help me???

Nokia Software Updater for N71

I have a Nokia PC-Suit installed with Nokia software updater, I was able to update my firmware till latest version,
Recently when I started Nokia Software Updater, it asked me that an update is available (for the updater), When I selected to download and install, after that Nokia Software updater is not starting at all!
I tried reinstalling PC-Suit, Software updater etc... but did not help
Please somebody help me

I had the same problem but then I downloaded NSU update directly from nokia website (not from Nokia pc suite) and it worked. It will create a new icon outside PC Suite. Let me know if it works for you

Its posible that it can be caused by a bad, slow or instable internet connection.

There are already so many discussions about installation of NSU and PCSuite, that is better for you do a little search and see if you find your solution. But, just my guess, could be a registry problem...
