New Objects always created in $TMP

All my new objects/transfer rules/etc are created in $TMP. How do I tell BW to prompt for a package when activating?

Hi Jim,
Please check your settings :
Goto RSA1-> Select Menu GOTO --> Select Transport Connection -->Select Menu EDIT -->Select Transport -->Switch on standard or switch off standard. This will basically influence whether you will be promopted for package or not.
For already stored objects, and if you want to change the package, simpliy go to EXTRAS->Object Directory Entry, change the settings as required.

          The problems with sessions occurs on both Netscape and IE although both
          of them
          have cookies enabled.
          Any ideas what the problem is? Is there some setting in

          add to get sessions to be persistent between servlet invocations?

And does the servlet which is run from the envelope use getSession( true )?
          or getSession( false )?
          If you're using true all the time, you're destroying the session.

Dreamweaver CC for Mac strange new files always created

Hi,
I bought iMac and this is my first Apple product. Now I have installed Dreamweaver and few other apps I use for web design and eveyr time i save a file, whether its, PHP, HTML, CSS, PSD, PNG i get the same file name created next to source file. For example if I save file called EXAMPLE.PHP another file called ._EXAMPLE.PHP is also created. Is there any way to turn this off or these files needs to be saved for Mac?

You should be able to turn off your hidden files to make them go away.
Files starting with a . are supposed to be hidden on the Mac, they're the "users shouldn't need to futz with these" files.

Newbie -arranging new objects query in CS4

This will probably sound ridiculous, but I'm used to Illustrator 10, but newly graduated to CS4 Win( less than a week ago). This question has to do with where new objects are created in the layers list. In the past, I'd highlight a path in the layers list and then when I created a new path/object..the new one would be right above the path I highlighted. In CS4, this ability seems to be gone..every new path/object appears at the very top of the current layers list, beyond any groups or sublayers.
Is there a way to change this behavior so that I can choose where in the layers list I want the new object/path to be? It's very annoying to have to drag or key command a path to the desired place. I did find a workaround for it with isolation mode, but I'd prefer not to have to use that as toggling is also a nuisance ( granted.. I guess I can waste a macro on it?).
Hopefully someone knows what control panel I need to find to change this, it's probably under my nose... <:)

Nah, I'm not talking about copying or pasting or arranging existing objects at all. All I'm saying is that NEW marks/objects/paths ( not copied ones) are always created at the top of the current layer, which is not always where I want it. For instance, say I want my next mark to be in layer 2, sublayer 1, group 3, above path 25... As in your video I'd hightlight this location -path 25, and then draw my mark....annnd it doesn't seem to appear in this part of the list and it's covering up something I didn't mean it to. After scrolling up through the list I find the new mark has happily asserted itself at the very top of the layer2 list, far above sublayer1, group 3 , path 25. What I wanted was it to become the new path 25, just above path 25 ( which would now be 26) in group 3, sublayer1, in layer2.
I know I can then do as you demonstrate and move the new path to the desired location, I remember these commands from Ill 10 and used them quite often to do tones above flat colors. I just thought it'd be cool to draw in the tones with the blob brush instead of copy, paste in front of the flat shape and then hack away at it with cut, eraser ( which sadly in my illy 10 did not work) or reshape with anchors.
It just perplexed me is that being able to have new objects create exactly where I want them in the first place would seem a unreasonable expectation. *shrug*

New Object Manager Authentication failed while logging in to Siebel Webclie

Below is the exceptions obtained while logging in to New Object manager created..
The Procedure I have executed was..Copied Siebel Data Source in Siebel Webclient [SiteMap --> Administrator --> Server Configuration --> Profile Configuration] and created new entry with updated parameters for schema,table owner.[Note: Updated table owner/schema has all view on Siebel schema and grantsql script executed.]
Then I have created a new Object manager which talks with earlier created DataSource. I have updated eapps.cfg with the entry..

Creating a new object at runtime

What I want to do is dynamically change the name of a object
everytime I create a new one, what I mean excatly is like make it
so that I can some how increment a value of a variable and apply it
to an object anme... so I get something like this
objectName0, objectName1, objectName2, objectName3 and so on.
I basically want to make it so that I always have a new object to
use... how would I go about doing this?

You don't need exec, the api provides this functionality for you. Look at the java.util.jar package.

Why create "new Object()"

Why would anyone want to create a Object?

I've seen people use it during synchronization locks but why create a new object instead of any other alternatives?

This is one of the most usual use for new Object() that I've come across - it's used to provide something to lock against that can be shared between various instances. An Object instance is considered lightweight (ie, the minimal thing you can lock against) and it doesn't imply that it will be used in your code for anything else (since it doesn't do much else).
You're right that there are other alternatives (often overlooked), such as synchronising on a Class instance (this.getClass() or MyClass.class) - this is at least guaranteed to exist and therefore its being lightweight doesn't really matter. But it's not always appropriate, especially if you've got various levels of locking going on. As usual, you've got to choose what best suits your own situation and your own personal style.
Another use for an Object instance is to provide an enumeration of constants whose value isn't important:

public static final Object NORTH = new Object();
public static final Object SOUTH = new Object();
}I'm not suggesting that my example is ideal (personally I'd choose a constant whose toString at least made sense for debugging) but it does demonstrate how you can use an Object to provide constants for use by other bits of code (or even internally, say as keys into a Map) - they simply do something like MyLayoutManager.NORTH to indicate something to my code.
Clearly there are other uses for Object (such as being the base class for everything) and providing default implementations of hashCode, equals and all the locking stuff. But I can't think of any other uses of an Object instance that I've had before. No doubt other people have come across some...

When you create a new object you have to supply the class to which that
object belongs. A class can extend from another class. If it does so
explicitly you can define the 'parent' class from which the class extends.
If you don't explicitly mention anything, the class will implicitly extend
from the absolute base class named 'Object'.
Your example is a bit convoluted: when you create a Derived object,
its constructor creates another object, i.e. an object from the class from
which the Derived class extends.
Extending from a class and creating an object don't have much in common.

I am facing an issue with Oracle Coherence 3.7.1 in linux m/c , where it’s always creating a new cluster, even if I start a new member provided with same cluster name as argument. -Dtangosol.coherence.cluster=name
It’s not joining the existing cluster , it’s always creating a new cluster with same name in Linux m/c.
But when I tried the same thing in windows m/c , it working fine , even If I start N number cache server’s it joining the same cluster as one more member.
Please someone help me, why it’s always creating a new cluster in linux m/c with same name ? why new VM’s are not joining the existing cluster? , Is there anything extra setup I need to do for Linux m/c.

It will not parse! Creating a new object in the universe

Hi, we have a universe and BO reports. They work fine for our clients. We are on BO XI r3.1. Now, one client captures an additional piece of info. They would like to report against this and add it high up on our drilling heirarchy. "Sure, no problem". For the following I was logged in as administrator.
The additional data field is a 3 character code.
1) We added an additional column to the actual database table.
2) In Universe Designer, I refreshed universe structure and could see the additional column
3) Created an object 'Acode' that refers to db.new_field
4) Exported universe
Maybe worth mentioning that I can see this object and use it in reports fine in Infoview.
Now, I need to create a new object that will be one of 2 strings based on the 3 character code (Acode) i.e. the 'Atype' can be X or Y.
Here's my code and it just will not parse:

Error I get is:

Run tcode SU01. (Provided if u hav authorization to run this Tcode)
Enter SAP* as user and click on the Copy button.
Enter the name for your new user in the dialog box and click Continue
Enter a password for your new user.
Goto Profile sheet and adjust the profiles to be SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW.
Save the user and logon with it.
Now you'll be able to do your changes.

StoreEvents always creating new event?

Our university recently upgraded to the newest version of the calendar server and so I've been going back to some old code I wrote that should now function correctly. However, I'm having an issue. The part of my program I'm currently dealing with fetches all the unconfirmed appointments from a user's oracle calendar and then asks the user if they would like to accept/decline/ignore those events. It then writes the events back to the server accordingly. However, despite my best efforts, a new appointment is always created rather than the old one being updated to reflect the new participation status.

The only thing that I see that could be different is that when I fetch the event from the server, there are some strange line breaks in the attendee property which somehow magically disappear in my processing of the string (my function only swaps the NEEDS-ACTION with ACCEPTED so I don't know how those other line breaks go away). But the fact that a new event is created and all the properties are set correctly, I have my doubts as to this being the cause.
Also, I have tried both the CAPI_FLAG_STORE_MODPROPS and CSDK_FLAG_STORE_MODIFY flags but neither seem to change what happens.
Anyone see any obvious mistakes that I'm making?

Glad to be of help! I wouldn't have known either except for a forum thread a few pages back titled "jni source code available" (or something like that) where one of the replies stated that the CSDK and CAPI handled the UIDs differently. Then I compiled the C example and noticed the UIDs looked very different from the ones I was getting from the Java SDK. Then I used your original post to help figure out what I needed to send back to the server (other than the UID) to get my code to work... so we kind of helped each other! Thanks!
