How can I find out what version of nvidia nforce dfivers I'm using? I think I'm probably using the lastest before this version cause my board is new and had latest bios version installed on it.
previous version had the 4.31 audio driver... you better check nvmixer information tab to see what you have...
todays fast evolution will force you anyway to change drivers at some point. Days where everything ran smoothly with same set of drivers for a long period i am afraid is long gone... but yes waiting and changing drivers when it is really necessarily is actually a good bit of advice. It is your choice

Go to Device Manager, ( to do so , Right click on Computer icon, Select Manage, from the left pance m click on Device Manager , which would display the Device Manager on right pane.)
There should be Yellow bang entries ( Yellow ! mark ) with printer name on it.
Right Click on each of them and select Update Driver.
Select "Browse my Computer for driver software "
Click on Browse button to point to the CD ( if you are using the CD to run the installation ) else copy the path where the drivers have been extracted if you had downloaded it. Usually it will be in folder with name starting 7z... under TEMP folder .

  • Can you update Video Drivers from Nvidia?

    Hello,
I have an iMac 27-inch, late 2012 model with a built in Nvidia GTX - 660M 512 MB video card.  Is it possible to use the Nvidia driver update for this build in card or should I only use Apple's video driver update?  I'm sure there have been updates from Nvidia, but I haven't had a Apple update for at lease six months.  I'm not having any problems, but like to keep current on drivers.
    Thanks,
    Dennis

In OS X, Apple provides GPU driver updates with every OS X update, so you don't have to worry about the driver. If you have Windows installed with Boot Camp, then you can install the most recent NVIDIA driver from the NVIDIA site > http://www.nvidia.com
Note that GPU drivers don't come as individual drivers, but they come with OS X updates. For example, updates like 10.8.5 or Mavericks may come with updated drivers

  • FYI - Vista just had an update to NForce SATA drivers from NVidia - and my popping went away.

Just thought I'd pass that on; the update was titled 'nvidia update for nforce sata drivers'?And *SO FAR* I haven't had any popping sounds on my X-Fi card.

    No...
It just has to do with what versions of the drivers you currently have installed.
I have a NF 680i and I also got a Windows Update on the NIC but not the SATA. Maybe these updates are merely bringing users up to the drivers that were released as the 6.08 pack released at the time of the 780i release.
    New NIC drivers are v67.72

Don't want to look dumb, but I have no idea on how to flash from an USB key, could I burn a CD ISO and do the same? Also what are the exact settings of the bios posted in that thread you just told me? I might only need to set voltage to 1013, everything else seems correct.

    Hi pacnow,
Re flash the card which comes with 823MHz with BIOS attached below.
    How to:
    Create a USB key bootable
How to make USB key bootable: http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm
Then get attached file, and extract & copy all files nvflash.exe, CWSDPMI.EXE and 103.rom
    to the USB key.
Then reboot the computer and boot from the bootable USB key,
when you see A:\ or C:\ type:
    nvflash.exe -b old.rom [ENTER]
Wait process to finish, this will backup/save your current VBIOS.
Then flash the new VBIOS with:
    nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 103.rom [ENTER]
Wait process to finish, then reboot the machine and you're done

  • Should I use drivers from NVIDIA web site?

I have an MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition OC graphics card and have noticed that the NVIDIA web site has newer drivers than those available on the MSI web site.  Can anyone please tell me whether I should use the NVIDIA drivers or should I stay with MSI drivers?

    Nvidia always!
I have now removed the MSI driver version 266.77 rebooted then installed version 280.26 from the NVIA web site. I am happy to report that the installation went without a hitch and everything seems to be working well.
Many thanks for your advice Junior.

  • New intel printer drivers from epson

I bought an intel imac and an epson R1800 printer. I did not install the bundled software but downloaded and installed epson's latest update for the intel mac. This was a printer driver install. A "Print CD" application is included in the bundled software which was not installed. I can't find it in the new download. Can I install just the "Print CD" app? Will Rosetta support this app?
Prior to installing any software for the R1800, I checked out epson's site and read an alert about the bundled software that came with the printer. So I installed the update. I want my cd print app.

Life is good! I got a reply from Susan R, Epson tech and she said download the Print CD app and Rosetta will do it. Well I installed the software and it worked. I got an answer sooner than I expected and thanks Susan for helping me. Some people walk around with a tune in their heads, me I walked around and kept bumping into Rosetta, telling myself it just gotta work.

So the answer is that it's newer compared to MSI 5.01 pack and Nvidia 4.27 pack.
    Agp/gart version 3.77 in MSI 5.01 driverpack and in nvidia's 4.27 driverpack .
    And agp/gart version 4.36 in nvidia's 5.10 driverpack .
Basically there is nothing new in the Gart department that has not already been out, none of the above solve the punkbuster freezing problem with the K8N Neo Plat. mobo. Neither does the following Gart below which is newer then all of the above:

As far as Im aware that is the newest Gart driver available (please correct me if Im wrong), and its dated flipping April!!! Its Flipping September!!! still we have this problem, I wish nvidia would release something a bit more upto date.

  • Installing new Nforce drivers?

I'm running the lastest Nforce driver pak from MSI on my K7N420. When the new Nforce drivers from Nvidia come out (Soon I hope) should I be able to install them over the MSI Nforce drivers I'm running now? If not, could someone please tell me an easy way to uninstall old Nforce drivers, MSI or Nvidia.
    Thanks
    Dennis

Thanks for the reply. One more quick queston. I'm running an Gf4 add in card so removing the Nvidia display drivers in Add/Remove does the video drivers, I know this one. What listing in Add/Remove removes the Nforce drivers?
    Thanks

Will these devilish drivers also work on nForce 3 chipsets? Or has nVidia totally given up "older" chipsets...
Yes they will but I can't vouch for any incompatibility or stability issues as I have only been running them since last night.
You can install them 2 ways.
Either use Device Manager and manually update the drivers for each device or uninstall the NVIDIA driver pack using Add/Remove programs and run the v6.66 Set Up.
If you use the first method (manual), you won't be able to update the Serial ATA Controllers so you will have to uninstall the NVIDIA IDE drivers only using Add/Remove programs and then run the v6.66 Set Up and select IDE only.
Note that the NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management driver is the same version from the 5.10 driver pack so there is no need to update it.
Also, note that the GART driver is only present in the v5.10 driver pack so if you choose to uninstal all the drivers, you will need to run the v5.10 Set Up to reinstall GART.
Lastly, after updating the IDE drivers, there is no longer an entry for IDE in the Add/Remove programs. Not sure why this is but it's not really an issue.
Essentially, the only drivers you can update to v6.66 are the Audio, Ethernet and IDE drivers.
I have tried both methods and they work equally as well.
    My driver versions are now:
    NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio
    NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Codec Interface
    13/04/2005, 6.14.0462.0
    NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
    27/07/2004, 4.4.5.0
    NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller
    06/04/2005, 4.8.2.0
NVIDIA nForce3 250 Parallel ATA Controller
NVIDIA nForce3 250 Serial ATA Controller
    17/05/2005, 5.10.2600.0534
NVIDIA nForce3 250 AGP Host To PCI Bridge
    02/04/2004, 4.3.6.0
    HTH.

  • New kernel and problems installing nvidia-legacy drivers

I just compiled new kernel, and I can't install nvidia-legacy drivers properly. Pacman installs them, but the module (nvidia.ko) goes to /lib/modules/2.6.19-ARCH, and I want it to 2.6.19.2.. It doesn't work if I just copy the module..
I've compiled kernel many times without problems when I was still using Slackware.  So, what do I need to configure to use the new module directory? I Propably made some small/stupid mistake..
I tried legacy drivers from nvidia.com, but they didnt compile.. weird, gonna try that again too..

You need to install the nvidia drivers, or any other non-kernel drivers, specifically for the kernel you are using. Arch packages the nvidia drivers to work with the Arch kernel packages, and the "Arch way" to deal with your situation is to modify the appropriate PKGBUILD to match your kernel, create a custom package with makepkg, and install it with pacman.
You can also use the nvidia installer, but in that case the nvidia files installed on your system will not be under pacman's control.

Since nVidia provides MSI with the drivers, as far as I know, MSI tests them before placing them on the website for download. If you are having a problem with the nVidia 260.89, let nVidia know right away so they can look into it & pull the drivers & come up with a fix if it's needed.

  • Pavilion dv9812us - Windows XP reinstall / nForce drivers won't install

I had a funky virus on my Pavilion so I decided I would format and reinstall XP (my computer came with Vista but I'm not really a fan). I see an nVidia splashscreen come and go and then the installshield wizard comes up and loads the installation files... and then disappears. As far as I can tell, the installer crashes every single time I load it. I also tried downloading the unified drivers from nVidia's website, and the same thing happened. So my question is, how can I get these drivers to work? I really need to get my computer working because it is an integral part of my job... so double thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me on this.

OK, I booted into safe mode, removed the old VIA drivers from the %systemroot%\system32\drivers folder, and then saw that the nForce2 drivers from a previous install were in Add & Remove Programs.  I believe that to be my entire problem.  So I uninstalled all NVIDIA drivers.  Rebooted into Safe Mode.  Installed all the 5.10 drivers with success, excluding the sound driver cuz I don't need it.  Rebooted.  Windows hangs during loading screen.  Reset, then I hit F8 and choose Last Known Good Configuration.  Remove all NVIDIA drivers again.  Reboot into Safe Mode.  Install one driver at a time and reboot inbetween.  System hangs because of the IDE driver.  So, choose Last Known Good Configuration again, uninstall all NVIDIA drivers, reboot to Safe Mode, reinstall all drivers but IDE, then boot Windows normally.  Needed to install display driver, as I have a NVIDIA card.  Did that, disabled nwiz and NvMcTray in msconfig as I always do.  Reboot.  My SYSTEM registry hive is corrupted.  So after wiping Linux (which I never use anyway cuz my modem is not Linux compatible) off my other drive and installing Windows and the Internet on it, I found out how to take the registry from a previous Restore Point and copy it to the config folder.  Did that, booted to that drive, had to uninstall and reinstall all NVIDIA drivers again, but it works now.  I don't have tons of System devices like you Fredrik, but I do have 3 Motherboard resources, which is weird.  Whatever.  Thanks for all your help, guys
