Will these devilish drivers also work on nForce 3 chipsets? Or has nVidia totally given up "older" chipsets...
Yes they will but I can't vouch for any incompatibility or stability issues as I have only been running them since last night.
You can install them 2 ways.
Either use Device Manager and manually update the drivers for each device or uninstall the NVIDIA driver pack using Add/Remove programs and run the v6.66 Set Up.
If you use the first method (manual), you won't be able to update the Serial ATA Controllers so you will have to uninstall the NVIDIA IDE drivers only using Add/Remove programs and then run the v6.66 Set Up and select IDE only.
Note that the NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management driver is the same version from the 5.10 driver pack so there is no need to update it.
Also, note that the GART driver is only present in the v5.10 driver pack so if you choose to uninstal all the drivers, you will need to run the v5.10 Set Up to reinstall GART.
Lastly, after updating the IDE drivers, there is no longer an entry for IDE in the Add/Remove programs. Not sure why this is but it's not really an issue.
Essentially, the only drivers you can update to v6.66 are the Audio, Ethernet and IDE drivers.
I have tried both methods and they work equally as well.
My driver versions are now:
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Codec Interface
13/04/2005, 6.14.0462.0
NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
27/07/2004, 4.4.5.0
NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller
06/04/2005, 4.8.2.0
NVIDIA nForce3 250 Parallel ATA Controller
NVIDIA nForce3 250 Serial ATA Controller
17/05/2005, 5.10.2600.0534
NVIDIA nForce3 250 AGP Host To PCI Bridge
02/04/2004, 4.3.6.0

  • Alc850 & nforce audio drivers/control panel

    Hi,
REALTEK ACL850 works fine with nforce ac97 drivers & control panel except one thing: i'm unable to have microphone working ?
    An idea ?
    thanks,

    Hello Mouse:
Ah, OK, now I understand what you mean, thanks for posting that picture.
If I recall correctly my previous ThinkPad (T42p) had something like that - it is sort of like an extra sound control panel that is provided by the hardware vendor that supplies the sound parts inside the laptop.
I am going to hazard a guess here (I emphasize a guess) that perhaps Microsoft has added sufficient control for different sound features into the new W7 OS that the hardware vendors no longer need to provide a third party control panel to let you take advantage of all the things that the sound hardware can do.
FYI, I never saw any kind of hardware-vendor-unique sound control panel on the Vista version of my current computer, even when it first arrived from Lenovo with the factory load on the hard drive.
So - although you don't have it any more, it might turn out that you are actually not missing anything.  We may need to wait and see how this plays out.

  • Has anyone else had problems with nForce ethernet drivers 3.13 and abo

Hi, I installed the previous version of the nForce unified drivers (2.03) and I have had problems with the latest version of the unified drivers also (2.41). These both have ethernet drivers "3.13 (WHQL) + TOT .NVU"
They seem to be the ethernet drivers fault. If I install one of the latest versions of the unified drivers, windows does not boot up, it just hangs at windows logo. ?(
If I remove the ethernet cards drivers using safe Mode, the system will boot up fine. I also have to re-install older versions of the ethernet drivers to get the system to boot.
I am using the K7N2 motherboard with onboard ethernet.
Any reasons/fixes would be great , cheers  :]

  • Purchased a new Official PSU Now Laptop appear to get very hot -Satelitte pro p300 1ay

Can any one help i recently Purchased a new Official PSU from Authorised Toshiba Dealer ,  and now the  Laptop appear to get very hot  particurlarly at the lower back of the screen hinge- What I want to know why is this happeing and is it damaging the laptop, as it get quite hot, unless I change the power saver mode, or dont have many web pages/ tabs open

Air flow is a major issue for all laptops. Therefore it is essential to make sure that several things are completed on a regular basis to keep your laptop running as cool as possible.
    1. Make sure your air vents are free of lint and dust and your fan(s) are free of the same.
    2. Use compressed canned air, spray air vents and fan(s) for 2 to 3 seconds at a time only; otherwise you may damage your hardware.
    3. Open your laptop use Arctic Silver thermal compound applied to the heat sinks on the CPU.
    4. Make sure your drivers for video and BIOS, chipset are all updated.
    5. The other way to keep your laptop cooler is to purchase a cooling plate.
It fits under your laptop and it has 2 fans and it keeps your laptop twice to three times as cool.
It helps to draw out the hot air from within your system.
I am including an image to help show the vents.

  • FYI - Vista just had an update to NForce SATA drivers from NVidia - and my popping went away.

Just thought I'd pass that on; the update was titled 'nvidia update for nforce sata drivers'?And *SO FAR* I haven't had any popping sounds on my X-Fi card.

    No...
It just has to do with what versions of the drivers you currently have installed.
I have a NF 680i and I also got a Windows Update on the NIC but not the SATA. Maybe these updates are merely bringing users up to the drivers that were released as the 6.08 pack released at the time of the 780i release.
    New NIC drivers are v67.72

  • 2869 nForce Audio Drivers on WindowsUpdate

    Hello.
I didn't see anyone else post this, so I thought I would.
No idea what the changes are...
    Good luck!

The reason why i stick the 5.10.2849 audio drivers (inside the MSI 2.29 chipset drivers) and still not yet updated is that  i get the strongest rear channels output (even louder than the front). On the other hand all windows update nForce audio drivers as i noticed have a rather low rear channels volume.
I would appreciate if someone who tried out this new  driver can give me a feedback about the rear channels volume.
I am using the MSI Audio CNR card and the Logitech Z-540 Analog 4.1 speakers
    Thanks

  • Nvidia nforce mobo Drivers

    I"m running a K8n neo2 platinum v1.4bios
Okay so the beta 6.31's are crap (no GART) a hodgpodge of drivers
the 6.39 officials for nforce for are great with the 5.10 (GART)
This is just what seems to work the best for me, what are you guys using?

Quote from: JasonKruys on 18-February-05, 02:15:43
Yes, but they work fine (in fact very well) on Nforce 3 as well, but as he mentioned, being Nforce 4 drivers, there is no GART driver which you will have to get from the 5.10 release.
    hi ,
are you using nvidia ide drivers?

  • NForce ethernet drivers and buildin firewall

I have the 7030 board, and I have some problems with the nForce Ethernet drivers and buildin firewall.
When I try to update the Network access manager with the latest v5.10 driver pack from Nvidia I get the following error.
"1: The installscript engine on this machine is older then the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISSCRIPT.MSI, or contact your support personnel for further assistance."
    then I get this error
    "1603 fatal error during installation"
I followed this link and installed a patch "IsScript9.zip" that did not work. Hope someone has a sollution to this problem.
My other problem is with the firewall, when I try to change the firewall settings to any setting, I get this error "Error in FwlProfiles Set : Unable to find profile." and the firewall setting does not change.
Extra question, does the audio driver that comes with the Nvidia/nForce driver pack not work with the onboard sound card?
As an extra bonus, and to my amusement I cant search this forum I get THIS ERROR!
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /var/www/web5/html/acp/lib/class_db_mysql.php on line 83"
    Thank you for any help.

As a point of information, I also got that error message. To get it to work I had to uninstall the Nvidia Drivers, then I ran the isScript app, rebooted and re-installed the nforce drivers, it worked. On the manual installation, when you unzip the drivers to a location, make a note of the location. Then go into Device Manager, Network Adapters and Nvidia NForce. Locate the Update Driver tab and point to the location where you unzipped the files.

    Hi,
unfortunately this VGA BIOS is not available separately for a mobile system since the VGA BIOS is embedded in the normal BIOS. So if you want to have the latest from toshiba supported VGA BIOS then just update your machines BIOS.
The problem is that a mobile VGA chipset has another memory and chip timings, so every manufacturer has (especially) its own version of the VGA BIOS.

How can I find out what version of nvidia nforce dfivers I'm using? I think I'm probably using the lastest before this version cause my board is new and had latest bios version installed on it.
previous version had the 4.31 audio driver... you better check nvmixer information tab to see what you have...
todays fast evolution will force you anyway to change drivers at some point. Days where everything ran smoothly with same set of drivers for a long period i am afraid is long gone... but yes waiting and changing drivers when it is really necessarily is actually a good bit of advice. It is your choice

  • New Nforce audio drivers?

I noticed that nvidia have done a special release of just their audio drivers, has anyone tried these on the neo2, does it solve problems as they say it does?

there are no READMEs or instructions telling you how to install it.
very strange.. probably a reaction to pressure from the half life 2 people..
you can tell it has been done in a hurry because the "installation hints" tell you to uninstall your DISPLAY driver first  hehe.
I guess it will give a similar benefits to that Bas described earlier when he did the same thing manually.

No, this is a new service.  The service that you are referring too is called "IMAPI CD-Burning Com Service".  That service is required (though it can stay in manual) and is part of XP and came from Microsoft.
However, after installing the new Nvidia audio driver, a new service was added, called "Imapi Helper".  This service is not part of XP, and did not exist on my system prior to installing this nvidia audio driver (I keep very close tabs on services and the like that run on my system, and this one was not there yesterday).
Furthermore, if you go into MSconfig Services tab, and choose to hide all microsoft services, this service does not get hidden.  It's not a Microsoft service, it was added by the Nvidia driver.

    Hello DayTrader,
When you connect the printer and if the message continues to say "Waiting for Connection", please try the below step..
Go to Device Manager, ( to do so , Right click on Computer icon, Select Manage, from the left pance m click on Device Manager , which would display the Device Manager on right pane.)
There should be Yellow bang entries ( Yellow ! mark ) with printer name on it.
Right Click on each of them and select Update Driver.
Select "Browse my Computer for driver software "
Click on Browse button to point to the CD ( if you are using the CD to run the installation ) else copy the path where the drivers have been extracted if you had downloaded it. Usually it will be in folder with name starting 7z... under TEMP folder .

  • Official nForce chipset drivers 4.27 released

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_4.27
Just noticed these, haven't tried them yet

How does one update these nVidia drivers?  I've tried running the setup file that I downloaded (see link above) and it appears to run, but it doesn't update any of the installed drivers.
For example: in the previous Unified Drivers Set, version 4.24, the ethernet driver was 4.16. In the new set, version 4.27, it's supposed to be 4.42 (according to the nVidia web site from which one downloads the drivers).  But after running the setup, I still have the 4.16 ethernet driver.
Another odd thing:  when I run the 4.27 setup, it offers to unpack all the files to C:\NVIDIA\NFORCEWIN2KXP\4.24 -- not C:\NVIDIA\NFORCEWIN2KXP\4.27 -- and if you look in the README.TXT file that is contained within the download (which lists all the drivers contained therein), it is identical to the one that came with the 4.24 set, even to the point of listing the 4.16 ethernet driver from the 4.24 set rather than the 4.42 driver that is supposed to be in the new set.
The actual downloaded file is entitled nForce_4.27_WinXP2K_WHQL_english.exe, so it certainly appears to be the right file.

The only thing newer in these over the Nvidia 6.53 drivers is the IDE driver. Other drivers in the package are, in fact, older than those found in the NVidia 6.53 standalone package.
