New Os X Mavericks and trackpad problem

Hi everybody, yesterday i have installed maverick in my macbook white 2010. Today, after didn't use my mac for 20 hours, the trackpad is going crazy. It moves and click alone without any human contact. Can maverik create this problem?
Sorry for the bad english!

yep, I installed Mavericks earlier today, 27" 2011 imac, trackpad has no double tap smart zoom now, freezes whenever i attempt to swipe back to previous pages, really annoying as this is all pretty much second nature to me now so it involves having to close and reopen safari. This after i spent an hour on the phone to Apple support this afternoon after installing Mavericks due to an infuriating keychain assistant glitch. Not impressed.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the installation again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Hello! I have a printer,Canon MP250 and I bought a new MacBookPro with Maverick and I cannot work this printer

Hello! I have a printer,Canon MP250 and I bought a new MacBookPro with Maverick and I cannot work this printer with the driver that came with the printer and I've tried to find an update but with no success, can you help me?
    Thanks!!

you can try resetting the network settings in settings or you can try doing a reset - hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release.  Then wait for the phone to boot back up.  You won't lose any data.

  • Mavericks and photoshop problem

Using photoshop CS3 in Mavericks and I get a ‘can't save file because it is already in use or was left open’ message when I try and save a photoshop file.
Found a fix online which is to turn off ‘Show preview column’ in show view options, but this is a pain because I like to have the preview with image and file info.
Is there a way around this, seems a strange way to get around this problem.

Resetting Photoshop Preferences has been known to solve Photoshop printing problems, especially when you have no problems printing from other Mac apps.
Hold down cmd-opt-shift while starting Photoshop and click Yes when the reset dialog comes up.

  • Waking up and trackpad problem

    Hi,
My 2001 PB ti has run faultlessly, daily, up until last night. It developed a trackpad problem whereby sometimes there was a few seconds lag between input and action and other times it sped along faster than normal. I tried restarting, I fiddled with the trackpad settings, I found advice on this forum for resetting the trackpads on later PBs - and tried it anyway, but to no avail. I checked it with a mouse and the mouse inputs behaved normally.
Now this morning I noticed it has also developed a problem waking up. Several times it has taken many minutes. Once I even hit the power button thinking it must have crashed but no it was just taking a long time to wake. This afternoon when waking the screen came on quickly enough but there was no cursor visible for several minutes. This leads me to believe both problems are connected.
    Any suggestions gratefully received
    tia
    Michael

    An update:
This sounds like it might be connected. I put it to sleep using the power button and selecting "sleep" and when I closed the screen it woke up again. When I re-opened the screen the Mac was running but the screen was black. Tapping keys or touching the trackpad failed to activate the screen. Eventually I had to press and hold the power button.

  • I got the new ipad this weekend and had problem with apple ID - thus resulting in 13 charges to my credit and debit card with itunes and nothing loading onto the ipad - does anyone have an idea as to how I can get this credited back to my accounts?

I bought the new ipad this weekend and had £15 credit.  For some reason it charged 13 items to be credit and debit card and did not load the item onto the ipad- does anyone know how I can get this credited?

More update on y situation. Now on both the IPAD and IPAD2 I can not got to view my purchase History, it says it can not connect to the ITUNES store, but yet I can still d/l apps and can view my account etc etc etc.

  • Mavericks and trackpad swipes

I've installed mavericks on iMac but can no longer swipe on Magic Trackpad from full screen safari to desktop. But the Magic Mouse works !!!! All settings are correctly ticked. I reset the PRAM Fixed left right swipes within safari but can't seem to fix the swipe back to desktop. Any help please as it was one function I used a lot

Had the same thing on my 17" MBP, installed Marericks and the track pad was jumpy and unresponsive. I found that if I unplugged the power supply the problem went away and the track pad worked fine. I have bought a new power supply from Apple and all is well.

  • New Installation : Login Delays and Wifi Problems

    Hey There,
I just a HP Pavilion DV2850ET laptop computer and decided to run Arch on it. But I have 2 major problems as for now. I'll be very pleased if I get over them.
    1) When the kernel starts loading with vga=792 parameter on, 2 Arch Linux logo shows up instead of 1.. I don't think that this is normal.
    2) I've installed all packages with the newest ISO image release: Archlinux-i686-2007.08-2.core.iso - It's installed without any problems. When the login prompt appears (that I'm going to write root to do the rest of the installation for a while) I can't write anything for about 10-15 seconds. After the 10-15 seconds of waiting, I can write whatever I want.. But this happens all the time and I have to wait everytime I open the computer. I thought that maybe this could be something related with the kernel installed so I upgraded to testing. But nothing changed. This is the most annoying part actually..
    3) I have 07:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02) on the laptop. There are several modules for this card as far as I can see like: ipw3945, ipl3945, etc.. During the installation, I let hwdetect to fill modules part in rc.conf and it added these modules: sky2 iwl3945 snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-hwdep snd-page-alloc snd-pcm snd-timer snd snd-hda-intel soundcore - What are all these sound modules any way ? Are they really necessary ?
Here are lspci and dmesg outputs. I hope they help..

At this moment, I believe the ipw3945 module and it's deamon work better than the iwf3945. So you can start changing this. In the module line in rc.conf change iwf to ipw. In the deamons line add before the network deamon ipw3945d and youre done.

  • Unresponsive Keyboard and Trackpad problem AT STARTUP + Sleep problem

When I turn on my computer it boots the OS and everything works except for the trackpad and the keyboard. I wait for about 5-7 minutes and then the trackpad and the keyboard start working.
    Additional problems:
If I try to sleep my computer, the screen turns off, but the computer never stops working, so I have to force it to shut down.
    Temporal Solutions
    1) Boot in safe mode, it solves the trackpad/keyboard problems but not the Sleeping problem
    Attempted fixes
    1) Conencted external keyboard mouse/keyboard. Doesn't work
    2) Reset the battery controller.
    3) Reinstalled 10.6
    4) Installed 10.5
    5) Installed 10.6.3
    Known Stuff:
    1) The trackpad/keyboard are always connected as I can move the mouse and use some gestures with the Better Touch Tool app, and the keyboard works because if I click the Caps Lock key, the small led turns on.
    2) Also, I have the HardwareGrowler app which tells me if hardware gets connected or disconnected and it never tells me anything about the trackpad/keyboard getting disconnected.
    3) The OS is working at startup because apps show stuff and get updated and I can still get growl notifications.
NOTE: This is an intermittent problem, about 1 out of 10 times I turn on the computer I GET the problem.
    Thanks a lot!

I came across a similar issue as the original poster. My trackpad and keyboard are unresponsive for 5 - 7 minutes after startup. I've updated my OS to 10.6.4 twice and it's still happening. I recognized this behavior after the Preferences->Network pane froze while I was trying to remove a VPN setting. Removing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfigurations did not help the problem.
Do any of you have advice on debugging the issue?

  • New tab page rows and columns problem

    Hi.
After a recent update and making new tab links smaller, I've decided to increase number of rows and columns, put my most frequently used bookmarks in there and close bookmarks toolbar to improve visibility. Since yesterday (March 26 2014.) I lost my bottom row, although there is enough space on my screen. In about:config newtab section, it still says I'm having 6 columns and 5 rows, but I only get 4 rows when I open new tab. What might be the problem, and why did you make those newtab links smaller anyway?

    Hello,
You're using Nightly, which is a highly experimental version of Firefox intended for testing. In the latest version, modifying the ''browser.newtabpage.columns'' and ''browser.newtabpage.rows'' preferences in about:config behaves as you describe (in my case, I actually only get 3 rows, presumably because of higher DPI settings). This issue has already been reported.

  • Mavericks and Entourage problems!!

    Hello all.
I have just updated my Snow Leopard to Mavericks via the free offer.
My Entourage has decided to play up on two things:-
    • When I open Entourage it automatically opens up a new email to compose = Don't want it to.
    • Also, as it launches a warning window appears asking for permission to allow/deny accepting incoming network connections. I have changed the settings in the Firewall pane (as suggested in the window) but still it asks me everytime Entourage opens.
Finally, why when writing questions in this window, does the flashing cursor move up to the last sentence therefore mixing up the words typed?
Hopefully when I type this it will show you.
I will type some words here. ll add these words. As you can see it's jumped up. This would also happen in 10.6.8.
    Then I wi

Entourage is End of Life software. it will receive no further updates. Be glad it opens.
See this link for workaround to opening new window.
Office 2008 apps open with new window after upgrading to Mavericks
The issues with incoming network connections and cursor jumping most likely is specific to issues on your machine. It's either a settting or a conflict with a login item.
Log out under the Apple in the Menu bar
    Log into Guest User
Do you see the same behavior.

  • New Address Book SYNC and ITUNES Problems- HELP!!!

When I try to tick the check box to syncornize my address book in my iPod preferences panel, I get the following message: "No contacts available- contact syncing cannot be enabled because there are no contacts available. Do you want to open Address Book and create contacts now?" When I do, Address Book opens (full of the 1100 contacts), but does not resolve the problem. Neither does deleting then reimporting the contacts, nor restoring from back up, nor Disk Warrior's rebuilding of the Directory.
Likewise, when I try to use iSync with my phones (until recently working by the way), I cannot tick the sync 'Contacts' box and then choose a phonebook, as it just gives me All Contacts as the only option. And even then, when I try to sync, I get a "sync failed" message.
These probelms started occurring after a kernal panic that happened when I connected my Sony Ericsson w800i to my computer via a USB cable. iPhoto and iTunes freaked out, but have since been restored to working order. But when I connected the new video iPod for the first time, I couldn't get it to sync with Address Book nor iCal. iCal works today, but not so the Address Book.
Yikes....if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
    A

THANK YOU for this solution; after trying MANY things to get my addresses to sync again, this fixed my sync problem! One suggestion I would add is if you try this, be sure to check the box "sync notes when exporting vCards" (Address Book: preferences) before exporting. The first time I lost my notes, but just removed the folder again and exported with notes. I had to recreate all my groups, but a small price to pay to get my addresses syncing again to my iPod.
I think one of the address files may have become corrupt, POSSIBLY after my iPod appeared to be stuck during a sync one time, but I later discovered that there was a sync dialogue box hidden behind iTunes waiting for my response. Problems seemed to start after that.

  • Mavericks and Dropbox problems

We have recently installed a new mac pro running mavericks 10.9.2. I have since been having issues copying files to various dropbox folders. Our dropbox is set up with 10 folders, one for each customer service rep. These are all in a volume which i mount on the mac. I cannot seem to copy directly into these folders. I can copy to a subfolder within each csr's main folder but not directly into thier main folder. Then I can sometimes move the file from the subfolder to the main folder and sometimes not. Does anyone have any ideas of what is going on.

    Same issue here :-(
I deleted Calendars Cache as described here, and that seems to have fixed it: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22480543#22480543
