is there anyone here know how can i highlight (on new os x mavericks ), the website i am in presently in side bookmarks window?
I often have to double check where i was than to go next favorite bookmark website

They are only free for new computers bought on or after October 1, 2013.
The upgrades are also free if you already owned a previous verions of iWork's app(s).
If you have never owned Pages, Numbers or Keynote at all, then the new versions are not free and you will have to purchase them.

I can't seem to amend both Title and Author for my PDFs in the new ibooks App in Mavericks.
(Opening it in Preview and renaming it does not change the Author name FYI)
The current solutions present are for 2013 and there is none for the new app in Mavericks.
My obsessiveness does not allow me to list my books in such haphard fashion.
Any kind souls able to help?

LOL! As you've explained it, the reason this community is called iBook for Macs is because you can easily change PDF titles on a Mac…
I know that people like to be gatekeepers--and I know that people can post in the wrong places--but that's not what happened here. I was correcting the previous comment about iBooks on the iPads! (See earlier post above.)
"iBooks.app on iPads or Maversick is a "viewing" app ie it allows you to open books etc,. on the device its used on. Its "read only" in computing terms.. you cannot change anything."
I wanted to do it by not directly pointing out the person's error, but you've forced my hand!
By the way, I ended up at this thread inadvertently while looking for how to change book titles in iBooks under iOS. So, in case anyone else ends up here looking for how to change PDF titles on their iPads, they'll know it can be done and how!

Do you own a copy of Aperture, perhaps bought for another Mac?
If you have not bought Aperture, you need to buy it from the AppStore.
But if you own Aperture and have it bought from the AppStore on another Mac, sign into theAppStore on your new iMac with the same AppleID you used to buy Aperure on your other Mac. Then look at the "Purchased" tab of he AppStore. It show Aperture, with the "Install" button to the right. Simply press the "Install" button and download it to your new iMac. Or if you have bought Aperture on a CD/DVD, run the installer from the CD/DVD on your new mac and immediately run software update to upgrade the Aperture 3. version to version that will run with Mavericks.

you can try resetting the network settings in settings or you can try doing a reset - hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release. Then wait for the phone to boot back up. You won't lose any data.

I reinstalled tiger on one iMac, but want to re-upgragde it to Lion. I don't have the discs anymore, but I installed Lion from the Mac App Store. Now that I'm back to 10.4, I don't have the App Store. I have a new iMac with Mavericks, but it won't let

I have a 2006 iMac that I've upgraded to each new os as they came out. I just wiped it (for the kids to use, I have a new iMac with Mavericks) and reintalled Tiger from the original discs. I want to get it back to Lion - which I purchased from the Mac App Store. But Tiger doesn't have the App Store and I don't have the discs anymore from the intermediate versions. I tried downloading Lion from the new iMac but it's not available...
Any ideas?

To get to the App Store, you need to upgrade the Tiger machine to Snow Leopard.

Can I still work with at least 2 camera angles in the imovie 10 (new version with mavericks)

With Imovie 9 it was possible to use the cutaway tool to use two camera angles. Can't find this option in the new Imovie downloades with the new OS X Mavericks... Any advice for me? Thanks!

To create a cutaway with the new iMovie, simply drag one clip above another, and it will instantly connect to the clip below to create a cutaway. Once the clip is in the timeline, you can easily change it to a side-by-side, picture-in-picture, or green screen clip. You can learn more here:

There is no Pages 5.05 and you will regret converting your old files to the new format.
Pages 5.2.2 can not open Pages '08 files, you will need to Export the Pages '08 files to Word .doc/x.

You may have to reinstall to completely uninstall. See -> How to uninstall MacKeeper.
With the newset version, all you hsould have to do is to drag the MK icon from the Applications folder to the Trash. You'll get a warning to confirm that you want to completely remove the crud.
No need to wait until Mavericks is released - get rid of it now!

Slideshow in new iPhoto5 with Maverick

Upgraded to new iPhoto5 with Maverick but now clicking in the slideshow icon it plays only one photo and if a selection of photos is made the sllideshow plays the selection but backwards! Creating a slideshow also did not work playing the album backwards too. Any hints?

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.
