New P1006 won't feed paper

My new P1006 laser printer won't feed the paper in....after a paper jam.  I have followed the procedure in the on-line manual.  Any ideas out there?

You could try cleaning the rubber rollers at the back of the printer by removing the rear access door and then cleaning it, as the black marks may just be ink deposited on teh rollers while feeding the paper. This will also help increase the rollers' grip in the paper and prevent any misfeeds that in turn result in a paper jam. I would definitely try this first.

  • C6280 won't feed paper -- sees paper trays as empty

Can't say that I'm pleased with this printer. It worked well enough until the yellow ink cartridge jammed (printing fewer than a dozen 4x6 images and a couple dozen sheets of paper with smaller images). Couldn't get a single replacement cartridge so I bought a full set. Wouldn't be so bad, except that once the ink was replaced, something else happened to the feed mechanism and no matter how much paper is in either of the feed trays the "Out of paper" message appears on the pop-up screen.
What I've tried so far: unplugging and decabling the whole thing; printing from the card reader so the computer's not involved; removing the back and cleaning the rollers (which seem to  be pretty dry/slick?)
    Thanks for your help.

I have the same problem and the solutions video has not helped.  I've been able to print using the fast/economical print setting.  This seems to quickly feed the paper into the reel and the printer continues the job, rather than the slower normal mode where the printer hangs up and the Out of Paper error message appears.
    ANy suggestions?

  • Photosmart Premium C310a won't feed paper

I went through all of the HP support steps, including the video with no luck - (time wait on/off & power cord on/off, correct amount/type of paper, ALL rollers cleaned, no paper jams, print settings correct, cartridges installed properly, hard reset, etc, etc. It sounds like a gear grinding when the roller pickup bar drops down to feed the paper.  Is there a factory reset for this printer?? Please help, Thank you

    Hi @Ebeniste1uk,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Photosmart Premium c310a will not detect your photo tray on Mac OS X 10.10. I am happy to look into this for you!
I would recommend going through this guide, The Printer Does Not Pick Up Photo Paper from the Photo Tray, and to watch this video:

  • Hp 1210v all-in-one; paper won't feed through

Printer turns on, paper won't feed through, screen comes up you need to load paper and there is paper. Already opened the back of printer and cleaned the rollers? Can i get in through the front of the printer????

    Hello @WSimsIV,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are running into some print quality issues on your HP Photosmart 6510, you are unable to print in black ink.
I would like you to continue here: Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, I understand you may have done some of these steps already but I need you to complete all steps in order to resolve the missing black issue you are experiencing.
Please note: There are three printhead cleaning stages. Complete all three stages if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last (third) cleaning stage to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.
If you are still unable to print in black ink, I suspect the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. Please let me know which Country/Region you are in as well as the product Warranty status: HP Warranty Checker
I hope to hear from you soon.
    Thanks,

  • Photosmart C5180- paper won't feed correctly

    Hi,
We had a paper jam and after I cleared it, the paper won't feed correctly.
If I feed one piece at a time, it will do it.  Otherwise, it pulls the top paper
from only the right side (as you are looking in) and causes another jam.
If anyone has any suggestions, or can tell me where to have this fixed,
    I would be greatly appreciative.

Hi , I can help you with your reset request. I moved your post from its original location, but can see you tried everything suggested by DocCottle here: Photosmart C310 paper won't feed. I will send you a PM (Private Message), but before I do, feel free to review the HP Privacy Statement. This Privacy Statement informs you of our privacy practices and of the choices you can make about the way information about you and your online activity is collected and how that information is used. This statement is readily available on our HP.com home page and at the bottom of every HP web page. There are an increasing number of posts in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a resets on different printers.  The reset itself will sometimes fix problems, so the reset is not the issue.  Some resets require you to enter button combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were never meant to access.  These special menus are used by the developers and support personnel for debugging issues, but they are not meant for untrained users and can have unintended results.  One wrong button push and you no could no longer have a printer, but instead a pricey paper weight.  To top it off, if you do happen to "brick" the printer this way, it is considered customer induced damage, and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only meant to be given out and used as a last resort, and under direct instruction of a HP tech support representative. They should not be done lightly! Printer Resets: What You Should Know Please check the little envelope on the top right hand corner of the forums page to check your Forums inbox.

  • HP Officejet 6500A Plus does not feed paper

HP Officejet 6500A Plus, Mac OS X 10.6.8,The printer does not feed paper.  Then gives the message that 'printer is out of paper'.  I have done all of the reset and cleaning procedures recommended on the HP web site.  That does not correct the problem when I do 'Print Status Report'.Observing through the front with a flashlight, the paper feed mechanism comes down on top of the paper stack, but the rollers do not feed paper.  Then the feed mechanism lifts up and the error message 'printer is out of paper' is displayed on the small screen on the printer. If a single sheet of paper is inserted deep into the printer so that it can be captured by the print rollers, then the printer produces a normal 'printer status report'.The problem appeared after printing some photos on official HP photo paper with new official HP cartridges. Advice? From:molybdenum

    Hello @99stonemo99,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that your Photosmart C309 is not feeding paper.
    I would like to help.
It sounds like you have done all the trouble shooting.

If the printer will still not feed paper, then it is probably time for a new printer.
The Photosmart family of printers is currently being switched over to the ENVY family.
The new printers are also eligible for the Instant Ink program.
    There are about fourteen printers.
Eleven that you can click on to bring up the user manual.
This user manual should tell you if the printer can handle card stock.

  • Epson Stylus Photo R2880 feeds paper straight through without printing

So I recently got an Epson R2880 at work, and it at first it was awesome. After a few days, it started feeding paper straight through without printing (it doesn't even pretend to print) and telling me that the "Media [is] out or not loaded correctly". I went back and forth with Epson on it for a bit, and they ended up sending me a new printer.
The new printer seemed to work fine for a day or so, and then it started doing the same thing. If I turn it off and remove it from my printers list and then turn it back on and try again, sometimes it will make a print before starting to feed straight through again.
Here in the office, most of my printing consists of PDFs that I do through Acrobat XI. Some of them are borderless, some of them aren't. I have also tried printing from Preview and straight from InDesign CC and received the same results. I have tried multiple USB cables and my permissions are all in order.
I am running Mavericks 10.9.2 on a 2013 Mac Pro.
Since it seems fairly unlikely that I received two consecutive printers that have the same problem, I'm thinking that the problem is with something on my end. I'm willing to entertain the possibility that my luck really is bad enough to have two printers feed paper instead of print on it. I'm also willing to entertain the possibility that I'm an idiot and am repeatedly doing something idiotically. Regardless, I'm hoping that someone out there has some experience with this and can point me in the right direction, because holy cow this is annoying and Epson hasn't been super helpful.
    Thank you for reading this.

    I've never seen that one!
While waiting in the hope that "someone" will know the cause, I suggest you try the two generic fixes I try for all print problems:
    First, Reset the Printing System:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14141
If that doesn't help, restart from the Recovery partition, and use Disk Utility to repair the hard drive and repair permissions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718
    (just read the first paragraph)

  • Short-feed paper uses more toner

    SHORT-FEED PAPER USES MORE TONER
In the HP5550 and Xerox 7750 colour laser manuals, they state that short-feed paper (paper which goes into the printer short side first) uses more toner than long-feed paper. For example, for an A3 printer that can print 300 mm wide, A4 paper (297 mm x 211 mm) should be fed in long-feed so that it covers most of the 300 mm image drum (if that is the correct term). Feed it in short-feed (the 211 mm side first) and toner is wasted.
Why is this? Is toner deposited on parts of the image drum that won't be printed?
I've put this question to Xerox but as yet haven't received an answer. Thought I'd ask some of the experts here.

I misunderstood the manual when I posted this question. It actually stated that short-feed paper will increase consumable usage as compared to long-feed. Toner usage doesn't increase but the life of fuser, drum units and anything else in the paper path will decrease because a greater length of paper is going through the printer.

  • I changed my iCloud account ID but my new phone won't let me change it. It keeps asking me for for my old ID password and won't let me delete the account unless I turn off the find my phone feature. It won't let me do this because it will not accept my ol

I changed my ICloud account  ID but my new phone won't let me change it unless I put in my old password and turn off the find my phone feature. But the phone will not recognize my old password. Can someone help me?

New iPhones don't come setup with an Apple ID/Password. What you're experiencing is called Activation Lock, & unless you know the original Apple ID/Password that was originally used to first activate this phone, you won't be able to reactivate it.
You can login to iCloud.com, from any computer, use Find My Phone to locate & erase the phone. But, you'll still need to know the original Apple ID/Password to reactivate it.

  • Repost: brand new mac won't play/recognise/mount audio-cd's

No idea what's going on here. I posted a question which I will paste below. Someone posted some suggestions for me (Dave Sawyer if I remember the name correctly, thanks again!) which lead me to ask wheter I was or was not supposed to have a file named cd info.cidb in a certain folder.
Now all of a sudden my thread is gone and I find the following mail in my inbox:

You wouldn't have that file unless you used iTunes to get CD metadata from Gracenote. I hate Gracenote, therefore I have never had that file on my system

The origial question post was the following:
    Hi all!
I am totally new to the macbussines (got one for a month now) and not using cd's much I never tried importing one untill today... and it simply won't. I think it's supposed to show the audio-cd on the desktop and give me an 'import cd' button in itunes whenever I insert an audioCD right?
It won't do... it'll take it in, turn it a few times and slide it right out again.
    What I tried so far:
    * toying with itunes settings for importing (import cd & eject, show CD, ask to import cd etc)
    * toying with the cd&dvd preferences under system preferences
    * click the mount 'button' in disk utility as was suggested in all those threads regarding cd's not mounting first time (my cd's won't mount the second or 30th time either)
    * resetting the PRAM
    Nothing so far.
It does recognise DVD's but no audio cd's whatsoever, originals, burned ones. You name it. As I don't use CD's a lot the newest CD dates from 2003, but that can't be it, can it?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated...
    o/
Am I going para? Where did my post go? It's totally gone, not even under 'my posts' or anywhere...
Still no solution either... suggestions still welcome therefor

My guess is that someone didn't like that I said I didn't like Gracenote.
Anyway, I Googled for your thread and luckily found it intact in the iTunes for Windows forum and posted a condensed reply there for you.

  • HP Laserjet P1006 won't print "Printer Offline"

My hp laserjet p1006 won't print and the error message says "printer offline". The printer does show up in System Profiler. The printer is on, and connected via USB. Ready light on printer is on. Sometimes the orange light blinks but is mostly off. I tried different USB ports (eliminating the hub) and switched out the USB cable. Restarted computer and printer, updated driver and repaired disk permissions. I recently switched to Snow Leopard but the printer has printed since I switched numerous times.
I had this problem 2 weeks ago and finally it fixed itself, but since a restart it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

    Ken Spiker wrote:
Yes, I just downloaded the Apple HP update 2.3. The driver that was showing in my Printer Setup Utility was 1.2.0.224. Now I downloaded and installed 2.3 but the Printer Setup Utility only shows 1.2.0.224. 2.3 is not listed in the driver list. Why is that?
2.3 is the version of the update, not the version of the driver.
According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669, 1.2.0.224 is the correct version of the HP driver.
Final question: why do I have problems nobody else does?
People are having a variety of problems. It may be because of permissions, previous versions of the HP software that was installed and not deleted. Since there wasn't support for this printer on Snow Leopard until the 2.2 update, it's hard to guess what the issue was, but you're not alone - read some of threads here.
If you run into this problem again, delete the <hard drive>/Library/Printers/hp folder, delete your printer from Print & Fax, then run Software Update and re-add the printer.
    Hope this helps.

I want to use my iPhone 3GS just as an ipod, not a phone. No sym card. New iOS5 won't allow. What do I do? Can I do a hard reset?

Hey, as far as I know you need a sim card to activate after a restore
It however does not have to be a fully working sim card, just not blocked or with a pass code, I repair/refurb. some iPhones and can only advise to try and get a free sim card from a provider supported on your phone and activate it with this,  or maybe someone can lend you theirs for 5 mins?
To clarify, I have heard there are ways around this, but they sound dubious.
