The "new" Pages is missing just about everything.
Your best best is to go back to the old Pages (mavericks puts in in your applications folder in IWorks.
Apple told me that based on input from users they will add back some missing features back but I suspect that will take a long time if ever.
They (Apple) say they created a new Pages to make it work seamlessly on various devices.
But in doing so they've dumbed down the programs to where they're nearly useless.
Any new users who don't know what "old" Pages could do will probably be satisfied.
But those of us who use this program to do real publishing should send feed back to Apple.
Apple has decided that we are "heavy" users and not representative of the majority of their customers.
That's why I suspect that putting back the features in Pages will not be top priority.
But just in case they really do read the feedback send them your opinions and feature requirements and just maybe if enough people squawk they'll at least put the old Pages back in the App Store (it's gone now).
One possibility crossed my mind. If the new OS Yosemite can mirror devices, perhaps we'll be able to mirror the old pages on to our IOS devices than you could have the full capability of Pages and the connivence of an IPad or IPhone.
Wouldn't that be awesome?
At least in the presentation, it looked like it could work, we'll see.

My home page is google and it works but when I open a new tab it displays an error message :Firefox can't find the file at chrome://quick_start/content/index.ht

I've made sure a dozen times that my home page is set correctly, and when I hit the home button next to the search bar it works and takes me right to google BUT whenever i open a new tab i get the error that my page cannot load and the web url that it keeps trying to remember is in the error message:
Firefox can't find the file at chrome://quick_start/content/index.html.
of course the last dot is not the url anymore but the end of the sentence for the error message, but i don't ever use chrome ever on my laptop only my cell so what is going on????? help fix god please!!!!!!

Do you have the FastStart extension?

On installation of Firefox 4 beta, it tells me that it won't run on my Mac. When I go to system requirements, it takes me to a page for Firefox3.6 requirements. Where can I find the requirements for the beta?

I'm hurt and confused after supporting Firefox for many years — installing and using it not only on my own computers but on most of my customers' computers. Now I have to tell my customers with PPC Macs they can't have a secure cross-platform browsing experience from Mozilla. They'll have to learn to use some other browser, or buy a new computer.

How to stop iTunes creating a new library on my hard drive when it can't find the one I have created and told it to use on an external drive?

I have quite alot of music etc so to save hard drive space I have created my iTunes library on an external hard drive. If I ever accidentaly open iTunes when that external hard drive isn't attached iTunes makes a whole new library from scratch on my computers hard drive. I find this highly frustrating as I often open Itunes to find no music as it have changed librarys and I have to re-load my actual library: very frustraiting and time consuming.
I would like to know if it is possible to lock iTunes some how to stop it from changing folders when it can'f find the library, or atleast give me a warning that it can't find the library before creating a whole new one????

Tunes works through a database file which has a list of your tracks. When you click on a track it looks up in the database which file it needs to play, then plays the file. If something breaks this link then you get ! The two main ways to get ! are to move a file from where iTunes expects it to be, or to delete it altogether. I don't know which has happened in your case. You can try using Spotlight to find a file for the one referred to in a broken link. If the files have been moved then they need to be moved back. If they were deleted completely you will have to restore them from a backup or download them again from the iTunes Store and rebuild your library.

I was trying to customize my page but then Firefox became completely unavailable. It only gives this message, along with 'trouble finding page': Firefox can't find the file at place:sort=8&maxResults=10. I tried rebooting and then reinstalling Firefox but the same message recurs. I can only get to the web now by using Internet Explorer which I don't like. But I may have to switch to it anyway.

New Bootmgr for my Thinkpad needed [Old: RnR - Can't find the delete command for older Rescue's]

I recently Updated my Thinkvantage software after a few month and now have gotten the toolbox. There came the Problem up, that i Used RnR the last time like 1 Year ago, which couldn't be.
I messed around a bit (i only had 50 GB free space and my old recovery file was another 23GB) and startet the rescue giving the new rescue file a maximum of 60 BG, so i have 10 GB free.
It said, that this might not be enough but i could just give it a try, now i sit at 0GB free, my PC is slow as Hell and so on, i canceled the rescue and deleted some of my files.
Now I'd like to know how i can delete the Rescue files (the dropdown menu with delete rescue file is gone through the update, so i cannot follow the instruction of the help page), so i have more free space available.
Also i'd like to know if i then should try another rescue, hoping it fits on the then 70 GB free space (i stopped the rescue this time at about 50%)
or should i just try my best and get my data on some other volume wich unfortunatelly i don't have with me, as im in another country...

answering to myself with a now much bigger problem:
1. what happend?
I just wanted to set back the computer thinking it might run faster again...
So i started the Thinkpad Recovery(RnR), it rebooted into the thinkvantage RnR Boot mode where it began to recover but stopped after 1 Minute at 0% recovery and didn't get any further in the next 4 Hours (with CPU and HDD idling all the time), as there was no option to stop it and no settings or something i thought it wouldn't do anything at all anymore and switched it off by force...
... restart: Bootmgr is missing press Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot
2. first analysis:
i can get into Bios, i can boot from the CD, i cannot enter the Thinkpad OS (via pressing the Thinkvantage Button on startup) and i can't run Windows
3. Googlin' around
i found this Artikle from http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-bootmgr-is-missing-error-while-trying-to-boot-wi..., followed the instruction downloaded the recovery CD, was able to boot from it and tryed to follow the Guide, but on the 4th Picture it didn't show my installed Windows looked around further and further and found:

trying it out I had success with the Nuclear Holocaust way, so I now atleast can find my Windows in the recovery tool, but still the System-startup-repair was detecting my error but unable to fix it (Error: Botmanager doesn't exist or is damaged; Tried to fix the file with Filerepair; Conclusion Error. Errorcode = 0x2)
I even found http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=212433, where there is a link to the Lenovo/Thinkpad tool with wich I possibly can retrieve something, but my laptop just doesn't have any Floppy drive (i also tried the file uploaded to rapidshare in this thread, which was the diskette but bootable via CD-Rom (didn't work as it seems to be set to drive A: and so i can't repair anything with it))
4. Conclusion

Should I try to
a) secure as many Files as possible? (booting with Knoppix(Live Linux Filesystem on Bootable CD) did not work at all, but maybe i had an too old version)
b) try to somehow get the RnR from the thinkpad to run again, so it might completely reset the PC to it's former state (No Idea how to do it)
c) I read somewhere you can launch your installed Vista in safety-mode with a propper CD/DVD, even without the Bootmgr, has anyone Experience with that?
TIA for any help you can offer me, i don't have the time to send in my laptop, would be great if someone from your developers could write me a little batch file, that i could run via the CMD (i can easily access my USB stick via the CMD provided by the Windows Vista recovery Disk) and which would well give me back the boot entrys that RnR deletes at the beginning or just creates a new one. Something that could remotely start the RnR to just bring back the old state could also work wonders, i used the Option, where you don't have to reinstall all programs, so maybe the RnR which also resets my installed programs would work well and fix the problem...
I realy hope you guys can help me out as I'm in dire need

There used to be a dropdown next to the arrows for going fwd and back through pages. It showed the last several pages visited. I also miss the option at closing that allowed you to reopen all the tabs you closed with. Can we get these features back?

What more do you need?

Firefox 4 will ''always'' save your tabs when you quit. To restore your tabs the next time you start Firefox, choose "Restore previous session" from the history menu, or press the "Restore session" button on the default Firefox home page.
If you still want to have Firefox prompt you when quitting (like it did in Firefox 3.6), you can enable some preferences in the "about:config" screen:

It is Friday early Morning after 12 and after 1, I was wondering if anyone knows if the New iPod Touch software 2.0 is or will be ready soon for download or do we all have to wait till 8 in the morning to download the new 2.0 iPod Touch software?

I have updated the to the new version of iTunes 7.7..
In the iTunes where I sync my iPod Touch where in the summary section it says "check for Update", next to it, it says "iTunes will automatically check for an update again on 7/15/08", I also hit the back up button and it tells me that 1.1.4 is the current Version, do I have to wait till the 15th for that update??
I was reading somewhere on the apple web site that in order to update to 2.0 I have to restore my iPod Touch and have a backup, is this just for the iPhone to restore and create a backup? if not then how do I create a 2nd back up?

the update is ready on the servers but is just waiting to be pushed through to itunes. I am in australia and I contacted apple technical support, that's what they told me. Don't restore your ipod, just wait and when you connect and click on update, it will update your ipod and there will also be an icon on the home page of the itunes store. We are all waiting in anticipation.

Safari can't open certain pages, can't find the server

On both my iMac and iOS devices (all connected to same Airport TimeCapsule Wi-Fi network), certain web pages won't open in Safari (specific example www.amazon.co.uk).
Safari returns the message "Safari can't open the page "www.amazon.co.uk" because Safari can't find the server "www.amazon.co.uk"".
Opening other pages works fine.
Have tried Safari option "Clear History and Website data" (all history) without success. Have also tried rebooting the TimeCapsule (disconnecting power cord), also without improvement.
When trying to connect to the same website over 4G on iOS device, no problem occurs.
Can anyone help me?
All software on all devices are updated to latest versions.

Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
          8.8.8.8
          8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
In Safari, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
Notes:
1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

I can't find the Pages application

i have already bought Pages as an app on my ipad and have now bought a macbook air. I went onto the apple store and downloaded the Pages app for mac's but now can't find the app even when i search for it, just the individual documents from my pages app on my ipad. Where is the Pages app on my macbook?

If you downloaded Pages for the Mac, it should be in the Applications folder. Open Finder and press Shift+Command+A. Look for it in there. And also look in the Launchpad. Or search for it in Spotlight (it also will tell you where it is).
If you still can't find it you can download it again. Note: Pages for iPad and Pages for Mac are two difference apps. Purchasing one does not mean you don't have to buy the other one designed for the other platform.

What exactly do you mean when you say "You Wrote Over a Pages Document"?
Did you highlight the text in the document and then start typing?
Did you use some type of Insert function to erase the text already in the document as you type the new text?
If you dodn't do either of those things more then likely all the text that was original in that document is still there, just on another page.
If you did do one of the above it is gone, Bye Bye, See you later.
