New PAR - Will The Black Lines Show on TV?
Hi all,
It's been a while since I had to prepare HD footage for PAL DVD replication, so I've just encountered a 'new' problem of black bars left and right of the frame.
My source footage is 1080/25. I am encoding (using CS6) to MPEG 2 Widescreen DVD, 7mb/s CBR, at the new forced Adobe PAR preset of 1.458.
My finished MPEG2 output has black bars left and right. Now I suspect that these will not show up on TV sets, but as I will be producing thousands of copies of this documentary, I must be CERTAIN that these lines will never show up on any TV set, be it Plasma, LCD, LED, CRT etc.
I know others suggest zooming in to fill the frame to get rid of the bars in the finished file, but I'm just not willing to do that.
This issue has caused a major plug in my workflow, as the replication company are waiting to go. If anyone can swiftly put my mind at rest on this, I'd really appreciate it!

Since you are editing HD and exporting SD, it might be difficult to know for certain, In fact, I am reasonably sure that someone, on something, will see those bars.
However, and this depends on the content, you might be better off bringing your HD sequence into a new sequence that matches the settings of your export. (1.4587)
Rather than "Scale to Frame Size", use Motion to scale it to fit the way you want it. You decide exactly what gets cut off, if anything. In fact, once again depending on the content, you may find you want to scale it down a little less in certain areas of the timeline. With this method, scaling up to see a more specific part of the frame is lossless as long as you do not exceed 100%.
It should take very little time to try this out. Just toss your existing sequence into a new sequence and export a few seconds of it. See what happens.

Black lines show up on final print
In CS4 when ever I save to PDF and try to print my document these horizontal black lines show up. They are most notable around areas with varying transparency.
This happen to anyone else? Any ideas?Is your print head clean and are you using the right paper? Sounds like it's simply spitting too much ink on the paper and it smears... also reset your printer driver settings, if you used some "Saturation" tweaks. This will increase the amount of ink used and further the issue.

I transferred itunes library from old PC to new PC. The content all shows when I launch iTunes on the new PC now. The previous content does not show in iTunes but folder still looks like it is on hard drive on new PC. Suggestions on how to properly merge?
Before you connect any device to a new library go to the Devices tab of the the preferences panel via Edit > Preferences (Windows) or iTunes > Preferences (Mac) and ensure the box next to Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically is ticked. You can now safely connect the device to your computer without the danger of media being automatically deleted or overwritten.
To get all your content off your connect your iPad to your new computer.
Then use a 3rd party piece of software to transfer your content

I downloaded the new version of pages about a month ago. Today I tried to open documents that I created and saved with the new version and received a message that I needed to download the new version. The app store shows the download. HUH?!?
I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you. -
In Mail, the "From" line shows the wrong name associated with the email id. How do I update it?
In Mail, the "From" line shows the wrong name associated with my email ID. I've looked over preferences and account information but have not found where I can update it.
There isn't an email address associated with the contact name who appears as the "from" in Mail. It used to be a shared email address and I already had updated the contact to list only the phone number in case that was causing the problem.

How to remove the black line from a stacked canvas at run time???
Hi All,
I've developed a stacked canvas within a content canvas, when I run the form the stacked canvas apeared with a black line takes it.
How to remove this line or how to disappear this line at run time??
I tried to do this by putting (no line) in tools palette to the line color tool after selecting the black line one and after selecting the stacked canvas another once, but this did not resolve the problem!
I need something else:
I put the stacked canvas at detail data block and it didn't appear since I execute query in master data block

u mean the border line? In stacked canvas property, select contour/outline and set it to none.
Make sure, the stacked canvas is behind the content canvas in the objectnavigator. Then check your
properties of the stacked canvas:
- Position on content canvas
- size
- size of clipping
Set stacked canvas property automatic visible to yes.
Make sure the stacked canvas is not overlayed by other stacked canvas or items.

I have placed video - when previewed there are sometimes heavy black lines around the image.
If I place white rectangles in front, the black is hidden in Author, but when I preview the black lines are still there..

That is done through iTunes. If everything on your cracked iPod is in your iTunes library, you just need to sync the new iPod the same way.

How do I remove the black line of the original artboard after increasing the size?
I increased my document from 8.5"x11" to 22"x34" and a black line of the original document remains. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it? It is not selectable - the word "x page" appears when my cursor hovers on it. I'm working in C6. Thanks for your help!
