New password not accepted - why ?

I had no record of a Useer name or password, then created new password for my email address, that was not accepted - said incorrect. Could not go any further !

Please let me know if you are Acrobat.com user or your subscription name such as ExportPDF or PDF Pack. If you are a subscriber to those services please check your email address as we cannot find your current email address as a subscriber to those services.

If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Gmail Error: Username and Password Not Accepted?

Okay, once in a while my e-mail actually works on my I phone but about 90% of the time I get this notification; Cannot Get Mail: Username and password not accepted. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Oh yeah, I'm using 1.0.2, gmail, and I'm positive my password and username is right.

I think the problem is solved. Last night I was on my friends computer and I accidentally stored my gmail password. I couldn't figure out how to delete it so I changed my password and then updated my iPhone with the new password. Ever since then I haven't had any problems.

Cant restore back up from iCloud as password not accepted

when trying to restore an 1phone 5s from iCloud back up my password is not accepted..i then go to iforgot, change my password retry the restore process and get the same issue.I have tried turning find phone off, starting again but still cant access back up because password not accepted.

I can't change my DNS settings. I'm trying to restore while setting up my phone. If I change the DNS settings while on the phone, and then restore the phone and try to restore from the back-up on my iCloud, it won't save that I've changed settings to use Google's public DNS. I would log onto my university's secure wifi instead of their guest wifi, but unfortunately I can't. because that involves an installation, which I can't do if I restore my phone and am trying to set it up.

Password for what? Signing up for what?
Firefox doesn't need a password for a person to be able to use it.
Firefox shouldn't affect your ability to get email - Firefox doesn't do email, but it will allow you to access your web-mail service.

Hard Drive password not accepted in new W530

I am moving a hard drive from a W500 to a W530 laptop. The hard drive has a password on it and it works fine on the W500. When I put the drive in the W530 laptop, it does not accept the password on boot up. If I move the drive back to the W500, it all works fine. This is a 1TB drive, so I'm hoping I can still use it! Thanks for any help here.

Since the HDD password is accepted when it's installed in the W500, why not pull off the password in BIOS there, reinstall the drive into the W530 and then set the password in the W530's BIOS?

After creating new accounts Password not accepted

On my daughter's G3 iMac (10.4.5) I have always had it set up with one user that was auto-logged in. Today I am trying to add 2 more users but the login window is rejecting the passwords. The set up for the users goes fine, but when the users try to log in their password is not accepted and the box shakes (nice touch btw).
My admin login still works fine. I also tried setting up those new accounts with no passwords, but they still get shaken off. Anyone have any ideas?
To make sure this wasn't user error on my part, I successfully set-up similar accounts on my iBook and they worked fine.

sounds like a netinfo database issue to me. if you have applecare you could call to be sure. otherwise, you can rename your netinfo database (which has probably become corrupt) by booting to single user mode (apple+s on startup) and typing the following commands:
mv /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb /var/db/netinfo/local.nidb.bad
reboot
once you do that, the setup assistant will launch on reboot and to be sure you don't lose any of your daughter's data, make her user name, shortname and password are the exact same as they are now. after you've logged back in as her user, go ahead and try to re-create the users again. it should work. if not, you may be looking at an archive or possibly erase and install.

Why is wireless password not accepted?

Hi Again!
Does anyone know why my wireless password isn't accepted at home or anywhere where Wi-Fi is provided? At home, I must enter the key code from my Linksys router set-up in order to connect. It will not accept my normal password. When I'm out at a cafe or other Wi-Fi locations, my iBook will never accept the establishment's password. My partner took the iBook (G3 12" 700mhz) with her on her road trip to California. The only places that she was able to connect were places without password protection. The WEP option is selected when trying to connect, but I have also tried the others without success.
I have looked through the settings on Internet Connect and System Preferences>Network and everything seems to be in order. The Internet Connect Help menu provided no help at all.
I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 with all updates and the original Airport card for G3s.
Any ideas out there? I am fully prepared to be humbled and embarrassed by the likely simple solution to this. No need to spare me.

Hi, is the WEP PW 13 ASCII or 26 HEX?
Any strange characters in it?
What brand/model Router is it?
Might try this...
Go to System Preferences
Click Network
Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
Select your access point(s) and Remove your access point(s) with the minus button.
Launch your keychain access in Utilities and delete your access point keychain entry(ies).
Reboot
Go back to the “By default, join:” page and click the plus this time to add your access point. Enter the correct password, save, reboot.
BTW, WEP only takes a few seconds to break anymore, not much security at all.

Password not accepted when downloading new apps

I recently changed my password and am able to update my apps. But - when I want to download/purchase a new app (free or paid), there is a popup prompting me for my password. When I enter my new password, it isn't accepted. Any solutions?

.mac Password not accepted in Mail?

I've had my .mac email set up on my iMac for several months and 2 days ago I got a message when Mail was checking for new messages that my password was not accepted and for me to re-enter it. Ever since then it has not accepted my password. Why would it do that all of a sudden and how do I fix it? Mail is setup to remember passwords.

I have my Mail app set to check mail every minute but it does not ask
me for my password that often.
When having the Mail.app check the account for new mail every minute and if there are a number of messages to download and/or a single message contains a large attachment or a number of attachments and the communication with the incoming mail server is not completed and closed for whatever reason before the next automatic check for new mail, you will be prompted to manually enter the account's password instead of being provided a proper error message indicating there was a problem communicating with the incoming mail server.
Change the automatic check for new mail to every 5 or 15 minutes instead which should resolve the problem.
To each his own but I have no need or desire to have my email accounts checked for new mail every minute. Checking for new mail every 5 minutes should be plenty adequate.

ID password not accepted anymore (once worked)

I am kind of desperate...and I hope somebody is familiar with this problem.
I have adobe reader 11 XI, the latest version.
I am taking a trainingcourse at Learningtrain. They provide lessonmaterial with certificates / id only.
I created an ID and sent that to my teacher. fyi: I was strongly advised to switch off the automatic update option..as adobe deletes id's... and i did.
The teacher had it all set up. And it worked! I could succesfully open the material with my password.
now the issue:
But it only worked once! Very strange. the ID is still there,but adobe does not accept my password any more
so i cannot open the file anymore. My home work is due today... and it is a lot ;-)
I have checked and double checked my password and is must be correct.
My teacher advised me to delete this id, and to create a new one. but that does'nt work as reader still askes
for my password when i want to delete the id.
so i decided to deinstall reader and install again (who knows...) but it lookes like i cannot delete it.
fyi: I also have adobe acrobat pro on my pc as i have the whole adobe css range. but I have exclusively used the reader.

Well, if you can't uninstall Reader, you probably have something wrong. But, if you were advised against updating, uninstalling will surely be worse!
I'm afraid I don't know what kind of password this is, there are so many possibilities. What does the prompt say? A screen shot would be good (BUT DON'T TRY TO EMAIL IT IN REPLY).

Change the password on SMTP for outlook and Iphone but is not accepting. When I set up the account again using the outlook wizard and try a test message it logs in ok, but sending says ..
"Send test e-mail message: Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 554 Transaction failed : Cannot send message due to po" thats all.
Any ideas anyone ?

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
When you used the wizard to set up the email address, it's possible that you've got something wrong in the setup - mail server name, port number, login username (try the full emall address - or just the bit before the @) etc.
The error message is incomplete, does it end with ... "possible abuse" ?

HomeHub 2.0 Password not accepted after factory re...

I have done several password resets after carrying out a restore to factory settings, but as I soon as I type in the new password, it does not accept it. I know for sure the password is the one to which I set it to. Is is a bug and does anybody have any solutions?

Once you enter your chosen password (twice on initial reset) you should see the 'proceed with' button
I've just checked and its working fine for me.
When I clicked the settings tab I am not asked to put the password in.
I get

Do you see this on your PC?
What browser are you using IE, Firefox or something else?

Are you clicking on the advanced settings (thats when I am asked for my password and it works for me).

ID and passwords not accepted by remote server

IDs and passwords for various site - mainly banks - seem not to be transmitted/recognised. The remote site screen returns to its original state before the data was entered with no explanation of why it didn't respond. I can successfully enter these site via IE. I can also enter via Firefox on my laptop.

Would you please tell us that when you try to change password, have you typed the new password twice?
The error message indicates that there could be some mistype of the new password.
If this is a Domain Controller and you have multiple DCs, please try to reset the password on another DC to see if it works.
