New PB - Keychain has wrong name

Is there any way to change the short name that is referred to in all the passwords of my Keychain?
I've just moved to a new PowerBook. I used the Migration Assistant to do the transfer but did not allow for the fact that the new 'short name' in the new computer and the old 'short name' in the material transferred from the old computer would conflict in the Keychains on the new machine. Point is that now, when I'm using my new account in new computer with new short name, it keeps asking for keychain passwords for the old short name!
Can I change all keys in my keychain to the new short name? Or...
Can I change my short name to match the old short name?
Would either of these solve my problem of constantly being asked for passwords for the same functions?

I am presuming that both machines have the same shortname, right?
You can just use the original Keychains. Look in ~/Library/Keychains for a file called "looginkeychain". There may be others in there i.e from Microsoft). Just move those into the folder on the new machine, and toss the ones in there now. Use Keychain Access to view them, and edit them, if you wish.
Be warned, that changing the shortname is precarious, at best.

New App "Caller Name ID": My business has wrong name

I got a new Note 3. I am using the "caller name ID" app. When I call my cell phone from my business it comes up as one of my clients names with my number..what the heck? How do I change the data in the database for the "caller name ID" app?......this is not the general caller id info...it just the data in this app that displays the wrong name....help!

Congratulations on your new phone, Pittsmaster! I was so in love with the Caller Name ID that I kept it after the free trial! Let me ask you this, is it your company? Have you tried to call a landline phone (that has caller ID) from the business phone to see if it appears the same?

Nano has wrong name

I have recently purchased an iPod Nano. I downloaded iTunes to my home pc (using windows xp) and everything was working great. I decided to download iTunes to my computer at work, so I could transfer a few songs on occasion if I needed to. Everything was going fine until I connect my Nano to my work computer. I looked and it was named Carsons Nano in iTunes. I had named MINE Craigs iPod(on my home computer) Also, iTunes listed about 200 songs in this Carson Nano. I have only about 15 songs because mine is brand new. Also, my computer at work is supposidly brand new. Please help, I am so confused. I know this message is hard to understand, but I would appreciate any input. Thank you!

My Nano is definitely renamed and it is not under the Shared Music area. Last week, my Nano wasn't connecting to ITunes, so I had to reset, reinstall, etc to get it connected again. It was working and recognizing my name for at least a week. Today I plugged it in and the Nano name in ITunes is now "antoni". Now every time I plug in, it's asking me to download the other person's music. I repeatedly say no since I'm afraid to lose my entire Library!
I've tried resetting, ejecting, nothing is getting rid of the wrong name association.
Help?

FrutigerLTStd-Bold Cn font has wrong name in file and not installing

Just purchased FrutigerLTStd-Bold CN font. The font file name is correct, but In the font window it says the name is "Frutiger LT Std 47 Light Cn" but the font shows up as the bold one. Installed the font but it is not showing up in my font list. Think there must be an error since the wrong name is thereI already have the light one, I need the bold font. Was on hold with Chat for 30 minutes, they told me to call support. Phone and said there was a 2 hour wait - my phone battery died before I was connected. Help!

Home page has wrong name on it and dont know why or how to fix this

when my husband logs into xfinity... in the little box on the upper left hand where you are supposed to be signed in... my name appears.. not his.. so he signs himself in and it goes back to my name and not his... and this is on HIS computer.. not mine.. It is driving him nuts. how do we keep him signed in?? he does get his own email.. but my name is still there..

After he signs in:
On the left side of the page, you will see the name.
CLICK the name.
His profile page will open.
Click EDIT next to the name that appears.
Change the name, click Save Settings.
If it works, there will be a name change sucessful message just above the name.
Go back to the home page.
Refresh the page to see the new name.

New Ipods Engraved With Wrong Names

I recently bought ipods for my daughters, one black and one white. Unfortunatley, Apple reversed the names on said ipods and I'm lost as to what to do. Is there anyway that one can remove and switch the (back/front) plates with the names? Or do I send them back for new ones (I am unaware as to if the two-year warranty we bought with the ipods will cover this sort of situation).
Any help would be appreciated.

Certadmin is adding new SSL certificate with wrong name

I'm using certadmin to add a new certificate from Thawte. Did it successfully the past few years, but can't do it this year for some reason. It looks like everything is working, but when I go to look at the store after adding the cert it comes up with the same name as last year's certificate. For example,
portal.rhsmith.umd.edu u,u,u
portal_2003 u,u,u
portal_2003 u,u,u
server-cert u,u,u
...where portal_2003 is the name of last year's cert. Before running certadmin there was just one of 'em. The .nickname does change to the new name I entered in, but it doesn't get stored with that name and the gateway gets confused. Changing .nickname to portal_2003 lets the gateway start, but it's finding the old (about to expire) cert, not the new one I just bought. Any ideas, anyone?

Solved my own problem... went in with ipscertutil directly and removed some old certificates. This seemed to uncorrupt the store and I was then able to add the certificate.

A have new problem that has appeared in my Mac Mail. When I type a frequently used email into the 'To: line' it populates the correct name but with 8 different email addresses not associated with that name.

I have gone to the window pop-down to 'previous recipients' and deleted that addressee as well as all the email addresses it is assigning to that name. I have also deleted the account entirely from my address book. I have have run repair permissions and also full defrag in iDefrag. Still the problem persists. Any suggestions?

I noticed you posted this problem quite a while ago and wondered if you managed to have it fixed in an alternative way then posting here. It is too bad no one has posted a solution here. I have a similar problem and if you have had yours solved since this occurance how you accomplished it may help me with mine. I am interested to know what you have done about yours.

Check the settings in the Accounts for Mail.
Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Click on your email Account in the left column > What appears under Full Name in the right column?
If that is the incorrect name you're describing change it to your correct name.

Go to your Contacts app, put your info in then go to Settings > General > Siri > My Info and choose your info from your contacts app.

See if this helps...
Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over.

Email confirmation regarding shipping of equipment has my name wrong

I ordered a Cablecard and was sent an email confirming the shipment and delivery date. Mail Tracking Id : {edited for privacy}
The message starts with:

But then the message ends with:
{edited for privacy}, thank you again for choosing Verizon as your entertainment provider
The system obviously has my name confused. Verizon.com team, please check it out!

Computer has different name than Itunes for Ipod Touch

I have an Ipod Touch 4th Generation 32gb. I have had no problems with it or with Itunes. My Mom came last Saturday to visit and she needed to charge her Ipod Touch so I hooked it to my computer where I always have a cord and charged it for about 45 minutes or so. I have no problem with my Ipod or with Itunes BUT when I go look at the device now on my computer,when it is connected to USB cord, it show "Marys Ipod" now instead of "Steves Ipod". In Itunes, it is still "Steves Ipod" and I can sync and all but I really want to get rid of "Marys Ipod" off my computer even though when I open it up, it is my ipod, just mislabed. I know because it has my pictures and her's is only 8gb. My Ipad2, is fine when I hook it up to the USB cord, It says "Steves Ipad" but when I hook my USB cord to my ipod touch, it still reads "Marys Ipod". Is this something I should be concerned about or is it not worth the hassle of trying to restore, etc? I have tried to change the name, but Windows won't allow. I do have Windows 7. I have also got the new update on Itunes and the new software(5.0) version.
I am stumped. I have googled this and have searched for over 3 hours today on how to fix this. Ready to bang my head against the wall. I have did a reboot on Ipod, I have restarted the computer. I have not reinstalled anything including Itunes.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I would sure appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

I just found the answer to this after hours of searching online. Make sure your iPod is hooked up to your computer & turned on.
Click on "Start" and in the search box type "regedit". This will display a program called "Registry Editor". Open it.
Click on the "Edit" tab and select "Find...". Type "Mary" in the search box and click "Find Next". It will bring up a list of everything that has "Mary" in it. (You may have to click on "Find next" under the "Edit" tab in order to find the associated items that have something to do with both "iPod" and "Mary".) What you need to pay attention to is not the NAME, but the DATA column. For me, the wrong iPod name was listed in 2 places in the data column. The actual names of those 2 items were "FriendlyName" and "Label".
Once you find the associated items that have to do with both the iPod and "Mary", right click on one of them. Select "Modify...". A box will open giving a "Value Name" box and a "Value Data" box. The "Value Data" box should say "Mary's iPod". All you have to do is change it to "Steve's iPod" and click "OK". Repeat the "Modify..." and renaming of the "Value Data" steps for every item that says something about "Mary's iPod".
Close the Registry Editor. Open "my computer" and see that it changed the name of your iPod back to "Steve's iPod".
